A Thai-Inspired Resort Village Across Land, Lagoon and Shore

Low-Rise Campus on Palm Jumeirah

Opened in 2013 as a Thai-style beach resort, the property is arranged as a low-rise campus rather than a single tower. Guest rooms and suites sit in smaller building clusters, while villas extend along the lagoon and beach edges.

Water Shapes the Resort Layout

The design combines Asian-inspired resort cues with a Dubai beachfront setting. Land, lagoon and sea-facing accommodation zones are connected by an extensive water landscape that influences circulation, views and leisure programming.

Overwater Villas and Lagoon-Access Accommodation

A Broad Villa and Suite Collection

The 293-room-and-villa inventory includes rooms and suites, 12 beach villas, 18 overwater villas and three Royal Beach Villas. The accommodation is distributed through low-rise buildings and standalone villa areas rather than a vertical hotel block.

Water-Edge and Private Outdoor Living

The overwater villas extend into the lagoon and provide water-edge living with Palm Jumeirah views. Beach villas and Royal Beach Villas offer more secluded settings, while 130 rooms provide direct access to the lagoon pools.

Pan-Asian, Australian-Inspired and Beachfront Dining

Seven Named Restaurants and Bars

The dining collection comprises Mekong, Bushman’s Restaurant & Bar, Mai Bar, Revo Café, The Beach House, The Lotus Lounge and Crescendo. Together they cover pan-Asian, Australian-inspired, Mediterranean, café, poolside and all-day dining formats.

Mekong’s Pan-Asian Menu

Mekong focuses on Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Bushman’s Restaurant & Bar presents an Australian-inspired concept, while The Beach House serves Mediterranean cuisine in a beachfront setting.

Lounges, Poolside Drinks and In-Room Dining

Crescendo is the all-day dining venue serving Middle Eastern and international cuisine. Mai Bar operates beside the pool, The Lotus Lounge includes a dedicated shisha deck, Revo Café provides a separate café setting and in-room dining is available 24 hours with international cuisine.

Lagoon Pools, Infinity Water and a Private Crescent Beach

A Multi-Layered Pool Landscape

The resort’s water areas include a beachfront infinity pool, three lagoon pools and a large thermal-water-style bathing environment. The lagoon system is integrated into the accommodation layout, with selected rooms offering direct pool access.

400 Metres of Private Beach

A 400-metre private beach provides direct shoreline access on the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah. The beach and pool areas support water sports, pool-based activities and organised resort leisure programming.

Scheduled Infinity Pool Access

The infinity pool is listed as open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Leisure activities associated with the resort include banana boat rides, snorkelling, scuba diving, boat cruises and both motorised and non-motorised water sports.

Thai Spa Rituals, Hammam Facilities and Resort Recreation

Anantara Spa’s Treatment and Wet Facilities

Anantara Spa is Thai-inspired and includes signature treatments, a Thai massage suite, Ayurvedic and holistic rooms, couples’ suites, a private Turkish hammam, steam room, bamboo sauna, relaxation areas and wet facilities.

Holistic Wellness and Fitness

The wellness offering extends beyond treatments with a dry flotation experience, separate male and female salon and nail-spa components, a gym, fitness studio or health club, and tennis courts.

Family, Recreation and Event Facilities

The resort has kids’ and teens’ clubs, a children’s pool, babysitting services and organised children’s programming, alongside water sports, tennis and event facilities including a ballroom and six meeting rooms.

Waterfront Seclusion on Palm Jumeirah’s East Crescent

A Resort District Rather Than an Urban Neighbourhood

The East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island district defined by waterfront resorts, private beaches, luxury residences and ocean-facing hospitality. Its low-density setting is oriented toward resort stays rather than urban street life.

Palm Jumeirah as a Destination

The Palm functions as a destination in its own right, with the resort reached through the crescent and trunk road network. Its position is away from Dubai’s central business districts but within reach of major leisure and commercial areas.

            Overall: What guests say

            25 relevant reviews

Reviews repeatedly praise the beautiful, exceptionally clean resort, attentive service, excellent food and breakfast, family-friendly atmosphere, quiet setting, and swim-up rooms. Guests describe it as self-contained with little need to leave. Recurring drawbacks include an older, slightly tired appearance, expensive food, and isolated severe complaints about poor food, missing towels, and unavailable facilities during COVID-19.

            See the evidence
Resort was very clean all restaurants we used were spotless and food was lovely.
The resort is beautiful and our swim up room was amazing.
We do find it a little bit tired, however still clean and service is great.
We understand the complications with COVID 19 but in reality the hotel is not functioning at a standard that should be open to the public. No towels, no pool we really paid a lot of money for nothing.

Staff were amazing greeting you by name, service was excellent.
The staff is always available to drive you to and from your room in the little golf cars.
It took me few calls and long waiting to get simple things done like delivering luggage and so.
The service during the stay was great but it was all ultimately ruined when the hotel failed to return our deposit for incidentals.

            Rooms: What guests say

            22 relevant reviews

Lagoon-access rooms and villas are the standout, offering direct swimming access, attractive views, spacious interiors, and comfortable beds. Rooms are generally clean, but standard residences can feel basic, bland, outdated, or unlike photos. Recurring drawbacks include loud air conditioning, noisy neighbors or children, limited privacy, occasional housekeeping interruptions, and a tiny minibar fridge.

            See the evidence
If you want a real treat, then get the Premier Lagoon Access room. You have direct and semi-private access to the 24-hour swimming pool (lagoon).
The inside of the villa is spacious, comfy and elegant.
I have booked the rooms that have direct access to the lagoons and there were very noisy neighbors.
The air conditioning in the room is very loud but works well, take ear plugs.

            Restaurant: What guests say

            15 relevant reviews

I visited it twice and i will do again when ever i visit Dubai, it is that good.
Service was amazing, ambience and live music adds alot to the experience.
The Bushman is good to great food and chill (not a DJ) live entertainment.
The beach restaurant was a little disappointing as the service was very slow.

            Check-in / Check-out: What guests say

            8 relevant reviews

Check-in was inconsistent: guests reported being sent to the wrong gate, waiting up to an hour despite arriving at noon, and seeing later arrivals receive rooms first. One room was not ready but upgraded to a family room. A refund dispute required repeated follow-up, while late checkout was offered and one guest found the property well managed overall.

            See the evidence
We had to wait almost 1 hour to get into the room.
People came after us and received their room 1 hour before us.
Our room was not ready at check-in, however after some discussion they gave us a family room instead.
We heard nothing and had to chase them.

            5 relevant reviews

Spa feedback is mixed: several guests praised the environment, therapists, and Turkish hamam, while others found the facilities and offerings limited for the size. Recurring operational issues included an unattended steam room, a broken shower, rushed departures after treatment, and disappointing service recovery after the maintenance failure.

            See the evidence
The spa in Anantara is wonderful with great service and environment.
The Spa was super nice, very nice therapists (Thi & Indian ladies both were so good).
Spa was very limited with such huge space for spa nothing much to offer.
The shower was not working so had to walk up to the spa reception to seek help.
