Wish I knew my stay was going to be so great, as I would have booked a longer time.

Nothing to dislike, rooms can be bigger, and menu from the in house kitchen could be better.

I arrived at the hostel by chance and had an amazing experience and an amazing conversation.

Friendly team, solid help, good meals, and useful services—West Coast Beach House provides comfort and reliability.

The area is near bars, but you can barely hear the loud music.

You feel the local vibes without compromising on comfort and modern touch.

West Coast Beach House feels like a great choice right away.

It has a different ambiance than to all the other places.

The common area is a nice place to hang out.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, fitting Moalboal’s charm.

There wasn't anything not to like about this place.

At 5 or 6, the motorcycles start passing by and the peace is over, although you haven't had much time for that because there are people walking by and until midnight or 1 AM you're still hearing noises.

It’s not a social hostel. The dorm is further down the street compared the restaurant/reception itself. there isn’t an area where to chill and meet new people.

Even it is in the main street with clubs and bars as well, the hotel is quite and you can easily sleep at night :)

Location is great, next to some great bars and restaurants and a 2 minute walk to the beach to see the sardines and turtles!

The hostel layout is in a weird location so there's cars and bikes always passing by to another couple hotels all tucked in together.

It was good and we enjoyed the place because we can just walk around to restaurants, bars and to the oceanfront and hang

The place is close by the beach but the thing is, there is a live band just across the hostel during nighttime.

The room we were given had no windows, at daytime the room would be filled with an oily smell of cooking coming from somewhere behind the AC that you can't vent out because you have no windows and your only option is to open the door or leave the room.

The only downside for me was that in my room, the AC was almost directly next to my head when asleep, this meant that I was pretty cold during the night, but it didn’t affect me too much and would not advise against staying here due to this.

Room So Small With Very Bad Dampness Smell And The Sound Of The AC Was Annoying, Water Flow Was Too Low . With The Same Price You Can Get a Better Room Somewhere Else

Window in the bathroom was covered by a sheet and behind the sheet were a ton of little insects and spider webs definitely needs some cleaning in that area.

We also had an insect problem in one of the rooms on our first night but the management quickly took care of it and even offered us a refund.

Room can be made very dark when needing a nap during the day, which is not as common as it should be in accommodation in the Philippines.

The option to rent a hair dryer and kettle would also be a good selling point and a way of making some extra money :)

I particularly appreciated the new bed, which was very comfortable, and the availability of Netflix and good air conditioning made the stay even more enjoyable.

In one of the rooms the air con unit is inside one of the top bunks which is ridiculous for the person in that bed.

The dorms are separate to the reception and their restaurant and no hangout place for socializing with other fellow solo travellers in the dorm.

You could hear the other rooms a little bit, particularly if they were using the shower - but that wasn't a big deal

The air con was pointing right at the bed which is annoying and my parents room had a really bad smell every day.

It was a cramped jail cell with one tiny window located in the bathroom, which backs onto the hostel kitchen so it's noisy.

Had quite the disturbing experience with people in my room having sex loudly while a third person peeked from behind the bed curtains...

The rooms are not soundproof, so you can hear music from bars around, loud neighbors, tv from the room next to you

Our bathroom smelled quite bad, we guess because the kitchen was right next to it and this affected our room.

It’s the only hotel room I’ve ever stayed in that did not have any window or any outside light.

The room is small, it's ok for a solo traveller, would be quite cosy for a couple.

Also it was not that large compared to many other places we have stayed for less.

The second room was much bigger than our first one which was really really tiny.

Sizes of the room is not so big but for 2 days is enough

To be fair by bedtime there is no smell coming in anymore.

Asked reception staff to extend when I arrived and they said they'd check and get back to me but they didn't so I was told in the morning I had to move.

It is kept clean by the staff who come in a couple of times a day; it’s the guests are who might be careless with cleanliness

They did our laundry for a decent price and helped us book tours and transport to other parts of the island.

Big thanks to Elena—she went out of her way to help with a lost power plug from my previous spot.

Sheila remained in constant contact with us to ensure we had someone there to let us in when we arrived.

I had a personal problem and they couldn't help me since their reception is not 24 hours.

We were also helped with an important request during our stay too which we really appreciated.

I love the stuff, they are so friendly and all with a smile on their faces.

Additionally, the staff were not very accommodating or helpful during this situation, which was disappointing.

Staff were great, although some didn't seem to speak much English they were nice enough.

They also had life vests for rent that we availed to go snorkeling, the quality was excellent and the rate was very affordable at 50 pesos (Jan 2023)

You can also book whale watching and coasteering from here also, my favourite were the bikes they have for rent to guests at a reasonable rate per day.

The common area inside is filled with laundry sacks and cushions from outside at nighttime so you don't have anywhere to sit

I saw them cleaning toilets once/twice a day but because of the high number of guests, toilets got dirty very fast

The place does not provide hand soap, so you have to bring your own to the bathroom every time.

There are not many options for laundry services in town so it’s convenient and done well with the hostel.

No lock (you have keys but nobody locks it) so any stranger from the street can walk right in.

Their reception area is misleading because it is located separately from their dorms and maybe rooms as well.

The bathroom/ toilet wasn’t as clean as it probably could have been but was not also too bad.

The sinks are very, very low, and it was difficult to use them as a tall person.

Ask for the total cost when doing laundry service as there are a laundry and delivery/service fee.

Also there are not enough lockers for everybody and the main door to the room doesn‘t close.

Overall, there are 3 bathrooms and showers, and when they are together, everything is always wet.

There is no common area, so if you go alone it's hard to meet more people.

Bathroom is both a shower and toilet without a curtain, everything gets wet when people shower

They also rent out life jackets here that are cheaper than at the rental shops.

Laundry I could just leave at the desk and it was back the next day.

The lounge area was across the road from the dormitory and was outdoors (at reception).

The property has great equipment for rent whether it be life jackets, snorkels or motorbikes!

They are really close to the sleeping area, so the smell was often unpleasant.

VERY fast internet and a cafe on site - perfect if you working online.

The air conditioner froze us every night, and I got a bit sick.

The bathrooms and shower are really dirty and not comfortable at all.

You have to hire bath towels, a small charge I didn’t expect.

And one bathroom has a really bad smell all the time.

Great amenities (could pay for laundry, motorbike, food, free water, etc)

I love the new interior of the cafe.

They had Netflix for free.

Available tours and scooter rental.

The on-site food is tasty, ridiculous amounts of cheese on the burgers 🍔🥰🥰.

Reception and breakfast area is a minute's walk away, on a different property.

I love that they have a lobby/restaurant where we could all hang out.

The food is also good with a resealable price.

The meals at the restaurant are very good.

The Friday night dinner with everyone was wonderful!
