Reviews overwhelmingly describe clean, comfortable rooms, friendly and attentive staff, good service, convenient location, pleasant ambience, and strong value, with many guests returning repeatedly or recommending the hotel. Recurring reservations include an older appearance, visible furnishing wear, a check-in experience needing improvement, and claims that it feels closer to three or four stars than five.

Its clean and have a nice lobby for guests to sit while waiting for check in, family members/friends and transport on level 1 and main lobby on level 6.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great service, amazing food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Because of this lapse in communication, we were denied the opportunity to enjoy the full benefits that we paid for.

During your stay at the Amari Hotel Johor Bahru, I am captivated by its impeccable service and amenities.
Overall it’s good , but we can’t request for water more than 2 because they will charge.
Overall I had nice memory and experience here, nice room, delicious food and good facilities.

We immediately became member in their Onyx loyalty program and will certainly be coming back.
We are so happy with our stay and will definitely make a come back.
We really enjoyed our stay here, will definitely come again next time 🥰

Based on this bad experience, I would not recommend this hotel to families.
Overall a great stay for our family and would live to return again.
But overall it was still a good stay beside the minor thing.

Will definitely be our place to go for our wkend staycations..
The hotel cleaniness, amenities and customer service rendered was indeed satisfying.
Good location - very near JB CIQ checkpoint and shopping malls.

My family has rated the stay 5 out of 5.
We having a wonderful 3 nights stay at Amari Hotel.
Like many other properties in Johore it’s getting bad shape.

Has been my 4th time here for a stay..
Even for a short stay, overall it was great!
Everything..it's our 3rd time here.twice pre pandemic.and one post.

Delightful and spacious hotel with a central location
Loves the pool and snooker and babyfoot table.
Overall is a nice hotel to stay in.

Thank you Amari for the scrumptious meals.
I have stayed with many hotels in JB (international brand) but they slack with the very basics of cleanliness (dust on the door, ledges, surfaces and dust mites in the carpet which later get on to the linen from stepping on the carpet).
Thought the price was a little high compared to other hotels in Johor Bahru however the evening complimentary drinks and nibbles in the Executive Lounge was a plus.

The hotel was outstanding, the lobby was gorgeous and the cafe was open and served ala carte and set items each time we came into the lobby.
Im first time come to the amari hotel and for the first impression its really amazed the decoration at the lobby cause of tugu negara
Overall it is ok n I’m a member too to which I forget to let the reservation clerk abt the membership which is under my

Rooms: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru673 relevant reviews
Guests most often describe rooms as spacious, clean, comfortable, modern, and well-equipped, with exceptionally comfortable beds, good showers, and occasional upgrades or attractive high-floor views. However, housekeeping is inconsistent: some rooms had mould, stains, hair, dirty bathrooms, unchanged towels, or no cleaning for several days. Soundproofing and limited hanging space are occasional concerns.

I like to commend our housekeeping staff for keeping our room spick and span, such neatness taking extra care to ensure we come back each day to room so nice and neat.
However we found the toilet very slippery upon checking in and had no shower screen so the floor got all wet causing more danger for us to use it.
View on one side was over dirty rooftops, the other a parallel apartment block that was dirty and unsightly which was too close to all the rooms.

There were some issues with my friend's hotel room (1119). There was a problem with the room door, and they couldn't get in at first.
Had to cover x1 light with a bag as it will never turn off (Did not check if this part was faulty as well)
Our other room was also connected to the first room without us requesting for it which was very convenient travelling as a family.

Instead of leaving us to sort out on our own how to avoid a fall by sharing the toilet with our helper.
Room cleaning not very thorough, there are stain on the table top and dust on the side table near the bed.
Was woken up by neighbour talking and laughing loudly in the middle of the night through the adjoining door area.

Room lighting is on point, the wifi reception is good at 1501, convenient work desk suited for quick business work.
It splashes onto your clothes and the volume of water is just small, or at least feels like it.
The room price was reasonable, and with a slightly more competitive rate it would be even more appealing.

But bathroom some item is missing , you need to request then they will give it to you,
Stayed on 19th floor, the room air con was so hot, the lobby area also very hot.
I recall the room felt hot and humid for the first 20mins after we entered the room.

The room at Level 20, along with the lounge, is excellent and comes with great food.
The room and bed are big and comfortable, I like the services provided in this hotel.
Mattress - Too soft, it sank when I laid on it, didn't get a good sleep.

The carpet is clean, the bed is comfortable and the sheets are super clean too.
I stepped on a sharp object in the hotel room (needle that cant be seen)
The walls are thin and we can hear noises and people walking outside the door.

Hence, we could not open it when it rained to make use of the space.
The room facing suasana suites makes it uncomfortable, being it very close to it.
Everything is good except the flushing system for the toilet bowl doesn’t work properly.

The water flow was so slow and too hot to even wash my hands.
The pillows are too flat.. I didn't realised there was a Pillow Menu as the card was not placed at the bed side table instead tuck away at the desk.. which I did not even use.. so if I were to see it I would have asked for a firmer pillow..
Room rates is a little more pricier compared to other nearby hotels though...so might be choosing other alternatives when staying in jb since we only need to use the room to sleep coz most of the time in the day we are out and about....✌️

No room upgrade offered even though I am VIP Gold which was the reason why I chose this hotel and they did not even explained or gave access to Executive Lounge even when I bought an executive room.
The washroom in my room allocated had an issue with the flushing system and the basin each time I had to lift up the basin trap in order for the water to flush through
Additionally, when leaving our hotel rooms, the cleaning staff had asked us whether he can clean our room, which was right beside the ones he was currently working on, to which we replied “sure.”

Staff: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru578 relevant reviews
Staff are overwhelmingly described as friendly, courteous, professional, attentive, and helpful, with repeated praise for personalized assistance, quick problem-solving, and warm welcomes. Notable examples include arranging medical help, resolving Wi-Fi issues, and accommodating special requests. Isolated complaints cite slow or unfriendly reception, uninformed arrival staff, housekeeping oversights, and a disputed parking charge.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ms Melcy and Mr Kamal for their assistance extended to my family during our stay at the hotel, when my daughter fell and hit her head quite badly.
Front desk, Divya she was fast responding and quick in action in settling a problem when my hotel booking w booking.com nt received, an unfortunately the room we book slot is full.
Lastly, when I went to the reception, the second staff who asked me to wait until 3pm didn’t tell me anything about executive lounge that is included in my order.

That I thank you to all - Mr Zabidi, Mr Azim, serving staffs - Danny and Harry (a sabahan guy- I may got his name wrongly here).
They came immediately to our room and offered to contact various clinics and showed us the directions to the emergency unit of a nearby hospital.
Called for a cot, wine glasses.. both took super long to come. In the event that they came, it was at least an hour..

All the staff from concierge, reception, security, housekeeping, banquet, kitchen and managerial staff that we interacted with were all smiles, warm and friendly.
Special thanks to Mr. Shahrul, Mr. Azmi, Chef Hairi, Mr. Fakhrurazi and Mr. Nazrin (F&B) for the excellent service and warm hospitality.
We would like to comment on Mr Kamal for always being ready to take photos for us and his service attitude.

I left behind my son’s toiletries, contacted the hotel but hotel suggested no toiletries could be found to be left behind
I sent a message to the hotel via WhatsApp, and Fiqri responded promptly, assuring me that he would inform housekeeping.
He was so nice and welcoming, always greeting us with a wave and even helping us with the lift.

Lots of staff on arrival floor, but have no idea or info when asked in Malay or English.
This is another lousy internal communication by the staff, showing that the hotel is not handlign this seriously.
The front desk staff asked to see the hotel reservation and asked to wait for the duty manager

Rakib is a valuable member of your team, and his work does wonders for your hotel’s reputation.
Kudos to Mr Azimul Hossain for the excellent job in keeping our room clean and well maintained.
Friendly staff by the name Haziq provided the best service from check in till the last day.

An amazing team you got there, keep up the very good work you are already doing!
Staff were accommodating at all times and helpful, always greeted with smiles and ready to assist
Staff everywhere from concieege, all the way to front desk are very friendly, helpful and courteous.

Can surely see his willingness goin extra mile to see to our needs and comfort.
Been dealing with the event staffs - so helpful, comforting & supportive throughout the event.
Thank you Dennis, Ryan and the pretty lady in kebaya at the front hotel lobby.

He greeted us daily and was helpful on the day of our check out.
When I turned up my room wasn't ready so I was asked to register and make payment first and then return later to collect the room keys. However when I returned, the staff at the front desk didn't seem to be able to locate my keys, I have to keep repeating my name and had to show my passport again. It took a long time to collect my room keys when in the first place I had already spent all that time registering and paying.
One lady was rude and unpleasant seen talking to her colleague all the time despite me walking in. She glared at me and asked for my room number. No greetings. Was rude which was shocking telling me off for using wrong set of tongs to pick up food.

We called the reception to get us tea spoon but to my surprise, the housekeeping guy came and doesn’t believe that there is no tea spoon in the drawer and he needs to come into our room to double check if we are lying!
The service recovery wasnt done at all, i dont feel the staff genuinely know the serious of this hygience complaint, and just change the robe withtou further handling of the issue, and I guess this is how the so called manager handles it.
The front desk team was completely bounded by tight cost control (no more than 2 more towels, daily replenishment of water is 3 bottles and any additional chargeable, etc) and could play a better role as cost controller rather than service agents.

Location: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru465 relevant reviews
The hotel’s central location is its strongest advantage: it is within walking distance of JB Sentral, the Johor Checkpoint, Komtar JBCC, City Square, restaurants, shops, night bazaars, and transport. Access can be difficult during surrounding construction, with some reports of nearby renovation noise and late-night traffic honking.

I think it would be helpful to put a sign at the front of the building on where to go to reach the hotel lobby, that is if you are walking from JB Sentral.
The hotel’s prime location was a huge plus—just a short distance from City Square and Komtar JBCC Mall, making shopping and dining super convenient.
I am already loving the warm people, the excellent location (opposite shopping malls Komtar and City Square) and to CIQ.

Walking distance from CIQ so you don't need to hassle a cab or grab to get to the hotel!
The location was great. next to JB CIQ so it was quite easy to get to the customs.
It was easy to call for private-hire cars and the concierge can assist you with it too.

Good 1 night stay to explore city square, JBCC and many walking distance cafe and restaurants.
Great Location with friendly staff and warming greetings when we are back to the hotel.
The location is near eateries and very convenient a at there are convenient stalls nearby.

Just exit out of Zenith mall, next to 7-11 and you can reach Amari.
It’s opposite a huge shopping mall and a central bus and train service.
Perfect location, v convenient to get to the nearby malls and cafes.

It is also right at the central train station, border crossing facility.
Convenient as it is near Woodlands CIQ and opposite City Square Mall.
Great location with fab access to shopping, cheap eats and spa.

Walking distance to checkpoint and near Komtar and City Square Mall.
Location and welcome / attitude from hotel staffs are excellent !
With JB Sentral station just a 5 minute walk away

Location are strategic, proximity to the Business event hall (Persada).
Very near two shopping malls, Komtar JBCC and City Square.
It's very clean and also surrounded by lovable peoples.

Very near to CIQ, City Square and Komtar Mall.
Its near to the place that I wanna visit.
The location is good, the ambience is nice.

Location is definitely strategic, very near to malls.
The road itself is not so jammed, Johor is built different man, just a relaxed vibe with clean and wide streets, brilliantly located near to JBCC and a few cafes nearby that I wished could have visited.
Location was quite central so its easily accessible, there is also a big mall (bandung indah plaza) just beside the hotel which is pretty convenient for shopping (there is a matahari and supermarket in the mall)

When we reach it's quite late at night, we have to figure out how to walk to Amari and there is no sign on where to walk to the hotel from JB Sentral.
It was quite confusing to figure out the way from JB Sentral to the hotel on foot, but we decided to asked many people along the way and we found the hotel.
The hotel is located near downtown; across the street there is a mall and several street restaurants, which one can quickly explore, and there is not much else to see.

Breakfast: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru385 relevant reviews
Breakfast is consistently praised for its extensive, varied buffet, fresh food, local specialties such as nasi lemak, rendang, roti prata and teh tarik, plus attentive service and occasional live music. Recurring criticisms include stale pastries, repeated dishes during multi-night stays, limited fruit, missing basic items, and poor value for the price.

Unfortunately, on both days of breakfast, we were told that the no. of pax were only for 3 not 4 (paid for 4 pax - additional was for a kid).
All the staff and chefs, treats us well with a lovely smile assisting us to have a great experience for our breakfast
Breakfast service was excellent, (asp the Teh Tarik maker) and the live band playing my favorite Kenny G songs.

Buffet breakfast are every where in the restaurant, not centralized. Have to go different stations for food selection.
Excellent breakfast buffet spread - besides the usual staples, the range is almost like a lunch buffet.
Probably during non peak season breakfast can be made at 50% off from the original price

The breakfast has good spread and it was nice to have live music over breakfast.
Breakfast spread was awesome- good selection of local malay food, indian food, chinese, desserts.
If these are not an issue then breakfast etc would have been very good.

The waitress cleared all my plates and cup when I haven’t finished eating
I personally loved the Chicken Rendang and the chicken & mushroom sausage.
Disappointed with breakfast far below that of a comparable hotel in Singapore.

Breakfast have a vast variety till I am spoiled for choices.
Breakfast is excellent with good variety of local food to sample.
They replenish the breakfast regularly and the spread is quite decent.

Breakfast buffet was one of the best spreads I had..
The breakfast buffet is good there are many food counters,
Thank you to all stuff for a wonderful service

Coffee in different choices, yoghurt, milk, juices, assorted fruits.
The danish, pastries & croissant is good too.
Breakfast had a superb spread and attentive hosts.

Food for breakfast and at the executive lounge.
Thank you for making our stay wonderful.
The buffet was not worth the price.

Breakfast was nice with a good selection.
Food spread should be made in a wider range and not food that is available at a normal hawker shop and quality must be checked because i find that the fruits and yoghurt in the fridge had a weird sour taste as if it has been exposed for a long time.
Not that I dislike it, but if some changes were made, it would definitely be better, the breakfast options are really varied and plenty.. just the taste is a bit unsatisfactory, fried noodles, nasi lemak, rendang.. improve the taste to make it more delicious 👍🏻👍🏻

Breakfast spread was good, egg station was the highlight and also the one of the busiest stations. but as a breakfast staple of eggs and waffles/pancakes, bacon and sausages is a must to complete the breakfast experience.
The service for breakfast is slow .. i means the top up finished food takes too long and clearing the used uttnsils on the table .. i think they are short of staff .
Since it is the fasting month, I did not opt for breakfast but they offered me the Ramadan break fast buffet at a discounted rate and the sahur buffet for their in house guests.

Facilities: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru180 relevant reviews
Facilities are generally clean, well maintained, and family-friendly, with a popular games room, kids’ area, pool, lounge, gym, and convenient on-site amenities. Recurring drawbacks include minimal gym equipment, cold pool water, slow lifts, unclear pool-bar hours, paid parking, outdated TVs and event equipment, and occasional maintenance problems such as leaks, weak heating, and faulty fixtures.

Facilities in the hotel was more than expected , especially where there is a kid's corner for the kids to relax and watch cartoon with a large screen, a games room where adults and children can play together, even a small drinks corner to welcome guests.
Pool and gym could be opened in the evening till 10pm as guests sometimes come back in the evening after shopping and may like to use the gym or pool.
There was a well-known major convenience store on the first floor, as well as a hair salon and massage parlor, all open late into the night, which was convenient.

In particular, we were only provided with half a roll of toilet paper for our stay, resulting in us having to call reception to ask for extra.
Very good facilities eg lifts, lobby check-in waiting area, public restrooms, dining and snacks availability, meeting areas and leisure facilities eg billiard table and reading area.
Need to walk around the building during evening or need to walk across the carpark to get to the lift that have excess to the hotel.

Food choices at the executive lounge was great - we really enjoy the quiet and relaxing vibe there during the evening time.
Loved the ambience of the lobby (as with other Amari hotels, the smell is always great at the lobby).
The cookies tasted terrible and when I informed the staff, she said it was done by their kitchen.

Got to choose our comfortable pillow, request fr ice, got 1 large bucket of it!! Awesome!!!
They also have a snooker room where we rest and enjoy a game or two.
Hotel has been around for a while.. might need some refurbishment to some areas.

I appreciate that the hotel provided a complimentary baby cot and baby bath tub!
The smell of the toilet is not so pleasant when first step in.
The entrance and the lobby area deco and set up wasn't nice.

Equipped more facility in the activity room. more kids activity materials also.
Not much facilities for kids to enjoy in the kids corner.
The aircon is super cold even at temperature 30 deg

The HDMI cable malfunction so many times during our event.
We were given lounge access which was great for families!
There was plenty of space to play with the baby,

Love the vicinity & convenience stores in the premises...
Lobby area and amenities like library & kids room.
Hot water temperature is a bit hard to control

The gym had enough equipment and was spacious.
Dispute apparent very low club room occupancy rate.
Hotel lobby is very beautiful with many staff.

Facilities were sufficient and near to JB Central.
We enjoyed the different cocktails they offered.
Deco for christmas is very beautifully done.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru169 relevant reviews
Check-in and check-out are often described as smooth, fast, and friendly, with occasional early or late checkout flexibility. However, recurring complaints involve rooms not being ready at 3pm, sometimes until 5–5:30pm, especially for multiple-room bookings. Other issues include the level-6 counter, missing key cards, room-change delays, duplicate checkout charges, and system errors.

When we came back, you guys delivered a cake for our wedding anniversary, We deeply appreciate it, but i feel it’s a breach of our privacy to suddenly come in the room after we have checked in, instead of coming in the room normally during cleaning hours.
This is my second time. My first time checking in was later than 3, nearly 4, we were OK but this time it was even later and we had to call the front desk before we were given the key for our 2nd rm
At check out it took 1.5 hours for them to realize that the amount on the booking .compaperwork was not the same as the check out amount....only to find that the tax for the upgrade had been added to the room bill ..

Did an extra day booking and request for hotel to help shift belongings to new room and handed old room keys to staff, while we were out, however, another staff call up again to ask if we have checked out.
This time staff actually asked me to pay tourism tax without checking my booking. Until I said, then they asked for rm deposit more than Rm100. Total asked hold amt rm 2500.
But my friendS (our roomS are the same categories) who called in much later to request for late check out was allowed extension till 130pm.

Also, they void the earlier transaction and re-register as the intern wrongly deduct the amount for the 2 hotels from my bank cards.
I called the operator, and I need to repeat 3 times on what is missing, and thats the first unpleasant encounter.
So if want to request for late check out. DONT go front desk even if u are at that floor.

Proceeded to check-in, asking and hoping that the room would be ready ahead of the official check-in time.
I check in at 730am but my room is not ready till 4pm only after I demand it.
We came late at 4pm to check in yo allow hotel more time to prepare the room.

Always late check in. More than 3x booking overdue and get rm as late as 3.45pm.
From the call, I gathered that my room was not checked out from their system.
The check-in area was confusing to navigate to, since it was our first time there.

It was late and should not be this way bcos yhe payment is from 3pm.
The staff is very polite and respectful during our check in and check out.
True enough the receptionist was kind enough to arrange one room first for us.

The check-in was very late; the rooms were ready after 5:30pm or so.
And we have to revalidate the card to stay in the same room.
Hotel presented a slice of cake on my birthday upon my checked-in.

A hotel staff called and asked if I had checked out.
The staff at the counter told me to wait another hour.
Just the check in was a bit of a hustle.

They let us check in earlier than 3 pm.
The booking made via the app was seamless.
They did not allow us a late checkout

🩷 Check in and out was smooth!
All payments was settled immediately upon check-in.
However, the check-in experience was disappointing.

Pool: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru79 relevant reviews
Pool-access rooms are convenient and popular with families, and children generally enjoy the pool. However, repeated complaints describe a small, crowded, shaded pool with very cold water, early 7pm closing, and cleanliness or maintenance issues including murky water, debris, algae, and slippery surfaces. Some guests also found it closed during their stay.

Additionally, there were noticeable small debris and dirt in the pool each time I visited — including during a return stay a few months later — suggesting that the cleaning may not be consistent.
Also yes the pool access rooms was convenient & lovely but its not up to par to the rate we paid as our view was an old moldy looking apartment building.
Yes the pool access rooms was convenient & lovely but its not up to par to the rate we paid as our view was an old moldy looking apartment building.

The swimming pool is not nice because the residents in the next building are right next to the pool and can see everything.
We had a pool access room but couldn't use it past 7pm also the pool doesn't get any sun so it's always cold.
The pool access deluxe twin bedrooms were really good for the kids to have fun in the pool with direct access.

Pool is nice (though given it's in a shadow a little bit cold -- a good thing in roasting JB).
When the sun came out it was blocked by the building left and right hence it wasnt hot at all.
Swimming pool a little too bored. Maybe revamp up to be more kid friendly with slides or water fall etc.

Definitely will be back as my Daughter didnt get chance to play pool due to the event held there.
The pool area was covered with a blue tarp, likely due to renovation work, which made the view unpleasant.
Swimming pool doesn't feel clean even tho water is clear, but the pool floor is a little slimy.

The pool is really horrible.. could do with a new pool or at least an indoor option
The swimming pool photo in booking.com looks big and impressive but the actual poll is really small.
Pool availability is from 7am-7pm.. would be great if timing could be extended to 9 or 10pm.

The water remains cold even in the afternoons, which makes it less enjoyable for swimming.
It would be great if the pool could be open till much later at night.
Alcohol only served in the pool bar, which was a tad uncomfortable when it rained.

The view of the city & swimming pool from the room were so breathtaking.
Glasses in bathroom were unwashed with coffee marks, makeup mirror light not working.
It does not appear to have a proper heating or filtration system.

The area near the pool is shady and relaxing for resting 👍🏻
My son loves it, still swim even thou its drizzling :)
Swimming pool water is too cold, due to the weather.

Swimming pool was closed on the day we were there.
The pool is too small and closes at 7pm.
The swimming pool wasn't large, but it was pleasant.

The water in the pool is too cold.
Overall just need to upkeep the toilets.
Could do better to provide HDMI cable.

Restaurant: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru76 relevant reviews
Restaurant feedback is predominantly excellent: guests repeatedly praise delicious, fresh, well-prepared food, wide buffet variety, pad Thai, laksa, beef noodle, and lively live-band dining. Service is often friendly and attentive, but serious inconsistencies include 1–2 hour waits, unavailable items, incorrect orders, burnt or overly spicy dishes, limited club-lounge choices, and occasional difficulty reaching the restaurant.

She assured me tt it is only a little spicy but lo and behold it tasted like slow hot fire.guy chef was away so a woman took my order and same woman cooked while talking to her 2 other colleagues hence she maybe got distracted and mixed up the sauce order.
Worst when i ordered from a woman at the frying station fried seafood in “kam heong sauce” it was so spicy that my mouth burned and was swollen. Later I was told it is spicy assam sauce.
My guests had to wait for a long time for their food and even forgot the grilled cheese sandwich that was ordered. In the end we had to pack the sandwich to go.

I may be a little late writing this, but this Ramadan buffet at Amari hotel in Johor Bahru has been on my mind ever since that night—and for all the right reasons.
Even though she was clearly very busy, she still took the time to personally assist my elderly aunt with getting her food and even suggested dishes for all of us to try.
Honestly, it didn’t bother me much—in fact, it gave me the chance to chat and connect with some of the people in line, which added a nice, unexpected touch to the evening.

Their Ramadan buffet spread despite being pricey was definitely a tremendous spread ranging from kambing golek, to various types of noodles, rice and lemang, to satay, prata and what nots.
Rest was this time sub par dishes on ala carte menu were downrighr wrong, would go as far as saying cook does not know how to make western food
The food. I had lunch at the Coffee House on the day of arrival. I ordered the Amaya Beef burger. It was overdone and the patty was tough.

After multiple polite (maybe we were too polite they did not budge) prompting, food came more than 1 hr later, followed by drinks, an additional 30mins later.
And tel operator said will get them to call me that too didnt happen in the end after waiting very long i had to grab food
The catch is the high tea is merged with lunch and it started at 12noon, this was made known when we are re-confirmed the reservation.

They were definitely overwhelmed by the number of patrons during the Ramadan buffet but they were trying their best to accommodate all of us.
Food was fabulous but Chef Romzi and Chef Hari! Laksa Singapore, black pepper beef and serawa durian were heavenly! Bravo chefs!
If there’s one small downside, it would be my seating location right next to the ice cream machine.

We had ala carte dinner at Amaya food gallery, the service was superb and food served was delicious.
We celebrated my little one's birthday at Amaya Food Gallery in Amari Hotel, JB for lunch.
Club room menu could be improved by adding on some vegetables into their dinner bites.

Wanted to order food from inhouse cafe Amaya but no one answered from cafe
Just because there is a seminar going on and food is catered to them.
Our participants kept complimenting the dishes, and it truly elevated our workshop days.

The club lounge food was so cheap for a five star hotel standard.
The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was truly outstanding.
Zero urgency for service ended with just 2 ladies saying sorry.

The restaurant is very nice with variety of food options.
Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared, flavourful, and beautifully presented.
Food at the lobby restaurant was good and tasty.

The food at the coffee house is excellant.
Service staff, Azrai, Nazirah, polite and pleasant.
That was a huge disappointment for me.

Parking: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru54 relevant reviews
Parking is generally safe, accessible, and often adequate, with direct hotel bookings sometimes receiving complimentary parking. However, third-party bookings commonly incur RM10 per night or per exit, while unclear notices and complicated ticket validation involving reception, machines, guards, or Touch ’n Go create delays. Spaces can be cramped or limited during events, and a lost ticket reportedly cost RM200.

It is extremely bad to ask a paying guest who just reached the hotel after 4 hours of waiting and driving through the causeway traffic to go back to the car park and drive out a parked car and drive in to get the parking ticket simply because a 5 star rated hotel does not have a device or a way to pro-rate the touch and go card.
While exiting the property you have to stop at the exit barrier and go down to the carpark management office, pass them the ticket and get them to open up the exit barrier which could ended up about 5 minutes.
You will need to get a parking ticket from the gantry for the concierge to validate, after which you have to head down to level 2 of the parking use the carpark auto-pay machine to validate again.

The hotel and carpark are not transparent about this fee, as it does not state such a fee at the gantry, nor do the staff tell you upfront about the importance of this piece of paper.
When we wanted to drive out the next day, we realised that the information given by the staff was wrong and that we had to actually collect the ticket at the entrance of the carpark.
The hotel insisted that I pay RM20 parking charges for 2 days stay as they said that bcos I booked with you guys that the parking charges were not part of the deal.

We were given complimentary car park ticket/card but couldn't exit with the ticket. Need to go to guard house to validate the card. Not sure what's the reason that the card didn't work.
We didnt notice the sign about having to take a parking ticket while going up the carpark (the slope to the carpark was quite steep) and we used our Touch n Go card.
My father had misplaced the ticket in the hotel, and when we enquired with front desk about it, they said to go to the parking attendant’s room to get it rectified.

We had to pay 10ringgit per day, had to validate the parking ticket at the receptionist counter and then go to the ticketing machine before we were able to exit.
It would be helpful if the sign was stated clearer and if the initial information given by the hotel staff was correct so that we could make the necessary arrangements.
Not sure why she gave us a look when we inquired about the parking rate as it is rare for hotels to charge us although we are the customers.

For tourists with vehicle, probably can register the car plate no. instead of getting the tourist to verify the car park tickets with the staff at the hotel lobby.
Having to pay RM200 for losing it and to get a replacement ticket to leave the hotel car park is so unfair for us as the hotel guests
Hotel should have facilities to validate Touch N Go card for the carpark instead of asking guest to exit and enter again just to get the parking ticket.

Your website mentioned free parking so that was not a good thing bcos I never experienced this at other hotels when I booked thru you guys before.
The carpark attendant’s boss refused to speak to us when we asked to speak to him on the phone, and the attendant was not very helpful either.
Then they provide a letter and you need to give it to the admin office at the parking area and he will open the gate for you.

As for complementary carpark seems to be a bit troublesome each time we hv to go to front desk to make a claim
The hotel utilises a third party company for carpark services, and they issue tickets when u enter the gantry.
Since the hotel is in the middle of the city, it’s quite troublesome to get the valet parking.

The property does not provide car park to the guest and it is rated 5 star.
The only minor downside was the parking area, which is shared with other hotels.
Secondly guests shouldn’t need to pay rm10 per day for parking fee.

But he said we will be charged RM10 for the carpark charges.
The valet was third party agency; hence there was payment charged.
Parking from level 2 to 5, hotels level 6 onwards.

That means its "free parking for hotel guests right?"
However the parking charges should be clearer.
Many hidden fees that were charged.

Spa: What guests say

Reviews are overwhelmingly positive, highlighting calm, luxurious ambience, clean facilities, heated beds, and skilled therapists who tailor pressure and help relieve tension. Scrub, massage, and facial packages are frequently praised as relaxing and good value, though one guest found the spa disappointing and not worth the money.

From the moment we walk down the corridor to the spa, we felt relaxed with the aroma of essential oil and warmth lighting.
Spa operating hours to be earlier as we wanted to experience it however it opens at 1o3o and our checkout was at 12.
Masseur Syazana was so spot on at relieving my body aches, and best part is I don’t even have to say anything.

The therapist (Diana) was professional, attentive, and well-skilled, making sure the pressure was just right and checking in throughout the session.
A special thanks to Joyce, who worked wonders in releasing the stubborn knots in my back—a challenging task she handled effortlessly!
Jeraline told me what muscles were tense and gave me helpful advice like stretch more and go for regular massages.

They check on the pressure level of the message now n then and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed.
And kudos to Wana for being so attentive and wonderful with my child, making the experience even more memorable.
Tried the 3 hours head over heel package comprising body scrub, body massage and ending with facial treatment.

I had a good massage, Diana was very gentle with her massage & thought full of my pregnancy.
My body melted under her deft hands and I came out of the session truly rejuvenated and relaxed.
The massage was excellent as she helped release the tension in my shoulders and I truly feel invigorated.

The ambience was calm and soothing, creating a very relaxing atmosphere from the moment I arrived.
They have a great spa Breeze spa and theraphist will knowledgeable and great with massage techniques.
Incredibly professional, attentive to every detail, and made the entire session feel personalized and relaxing.

I went for the Hydration Facial Treatment and was cared for by Jeraline & Diana.
Booked a couple’s treatment for my wife’s birthday, and it was an amazing experience.
I had head to heel massage - scrub - mood massage - facial!

Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a quality massage.
We have been here many times and the experience is always wonderful.
Facial was fantastic too, my skin looks rejuvenated just 1 session.

Scrub and massage felt really good with the heated bed!
It was a fantastic spa experience here at Breeze.
Unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations.

Great value for money—I left feeling completely refreshed.
We took the Horad over Heels package.
The treatment at the SPA was excellent.

Syazwana & Diana were our therapist.
Full body massage + facial message
Thanks Ellie for your great service.

Gym: What guests say

Guests generally describe the gym as clean, decent, updated, and well equipped, with a good pool often mentioned alongside it. Recurring concerns include reduced hours rather than 24-hour access, basic equipment and too few free weights, a somewhat tired appearance, sharing with another hotel, and an unresolved toddler-related safety incident causing one reported injury.

The hotel even had a well-equipped gym, which was a nice bonus to stay active during the retreat.
Gym and pool are slightly tired looking but definitely still able to meet my needs.
The first time I came the gym was 24hrs.. I did when 3am till 4am.

There was an incident at the gym involving Toddlers using it as a playground.
Had a quick workout at the gym the next morning which was adequately equipped.
A relatively good size gym which is clean and equipped with quite new equipments

Only tries the swimming pool and gym apart frm all the facilities provided.
Adults who go to the gym can take care of themselves.
The gym was good but should have more free weights equipment.

Gym and swimming pool seems to be shared with another hotel.
An accident occurred and despite 2 complaints, no action was taken.
I didnt like that the gym is not 24 hours.

For a 5 star hotel, make the gym 24 hours.
I like that it has a gym and swimming pool.
Should just put away the smoking corner near the gym.

Sad that the gym is not 24hrs any more.
Theres no need for it to be staffed.
Perhaps make the gym open for 24 hours.

I have sustained an injury from the incident.
The gym is pretty updated with the equipment.
Excellent gym and good swimming pool facility.

Well equipped gym and pool
Gym facilities can be improved.
Gym facilities well setup.

Gym is very decent.
Well equipped gym!
Basic gym equipment.

Transport: What guests say
View Amari Johor Bahru11 relevant reviews
Transport is convenient for JB Sentral, Singapore, downtown food areas, and arranged airport transfers, but traffic, road closures, construction, and Grab availability can cause major delays. First-time guests may struggle to find the lobby, entrances, pickup point, or hotel link, especially with luggage. Expedia bookings may not receive complimentary parking coupons.

I was stuck for 2 hours in the evening of 1 Feb trying to get back to the hotel since the road in front of the hotel was closed, for some unknown reason.
Took me awhile to locate the hotel lobby as i came in from the other entrance on the hotpot restaurant floor and i got to get up one more floor.
We drove there, but were told that complimentary parking coupons aren’t provided for bookings made through Expedia—though they are available when booking through other platforms.

I was surprised when told that they accidentally charged the full RM800 into my credit card, instead of holding the payment.
I would avoid this hotel, or any hotel in the area, at least until all the construction works are finished.
However not a major issue but it could be challenging for visitors staying the accommodation for the first time.

The way to link to the hotel... Quite a walk and a bit inconvenient for tourist carrying big luggage
Not sure how to find our way to the hotel in the beginning due to lack of directions.
Difficult to get grab (road facing komtar) due to the jam and grabdrivers dont want to take us.

It was easy to transport to Singapore and explore the downtown area with lots of food options.
They also arranged for direct transfer to Changi Airport which saves you from changing taxis in Singapore.
Big thanks for checking the car and returning the forgotten passport after the airport drop off.

2 weeks on, I am still waiting for the refund as my stay was RM690.
The pick up/drop off was abit hard to find.
The traffic there was horrible.

Excellent access to JB Sentral.
