Staff: What guests say
397 relevant reviewsStaff are consistently praised for warm, professional, attentive and accommodating service across reception, dining, housekeeping, security and concierge. Edward, Dean, Gelo, Ryan and others receive repeated personal commendations; Edward remembered coffee preferences and helped an elderly guest. One review wanted staff more proactive and less distracted.
See the evidence
Our server Edward was very kind and so personable and always made us feel special each morning we were there, remembering the little things like our coffee choices and my husband’s condensed milk preference for his champorado.
all the staff are courteous, professionally behaved and pleasant, helpful from housekeeping, engineering, concierge and all the front desk staff esp Cheska.
I would like to commend the night manager mr Mark Guzman for the outstanding service. He was professional, welcoming, and extremely helpful throughout my stay. He went above and beyond to assist me, always with a smile and a positive attitude.
I would have preferred the staff to be more proactive and less distracted.See all reviews about staff
Rooms: What guests say
344 relevant reviewsSuites are repeatedly praised as exceptionally spacious, clean, comfortable, and home-like, with full kitchens, washer/dryers, living areas, storage, and effective blackout curtains. Recurring concerns include musty odors, dated decor and dusty furnishings, occasional drainage problems, tiny bathrooms, and beds that can feel too small; room changes resolved some odor complaints.
See the evidence
The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed.
Spacious and fully equipped with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and toiletries.
The rooms are a bit outdated, but that's because the hotel is currently being renovated.
Initial room had a musty smell, but I was allocated another room with no further issues.See all reviews about rooms
Location: What guests say
348 relevant reviewsExceptional central Makati location, directly connected to Glorietta and linked to Landmark, Greenbelt, SM Makati, and One Ayala, with extensive shopping, dining, groceries, and transport within walking distance. The area feels safe and is 15–30 minutes from the airport, but mall renovations caused congestion, construction noise, confusing access, and difficult lobby drop-off.
See the evidence
The location is perfectly situated—right in the middle of One Ayala, SM, Glorietta, and Greenbelt.
Everything is just a few steps away: groceries, hundreds of restaurants to choose from, and parks.
Renovations to nearby mall caused too much traffic and congestion, and confusion in moving around the Hotel.
the entrance was under construction so had to walk from far at 3 am.See all reviews about location
Overall: What guests say
154 relevant reviewsAscott Makati is repeatedly praised for friendly, outstanding service, a convenient Makati location, spacious apartment-style rooms, kitchen and washer-dryer facilities, strong value, security, and suitability for families, business trips, and extended stays. However, several reviews describe the property and bathrooms as dated and needing a facelift, while the restaurant is considered basic.
See the evidence
Excellent value for money, spacious and love the kitchen and washer dryer.
spacious and great location but needs a total facelift
The whole place could do with a facelift....everything is old
Fantastic stay with outstanding service!See all reviews about overall
Breakfast: What guests say
209 relevant reviewsBreakfast is usually praised for fresh, well-prepared local and international variety, made-to-order eggs and noodles, changing menus, and warm, attentive staff who remember preferences. Some guests find the spread limited or overpriced, coffee inconsistent, and breakfast disappointing; several third-party bookings caused confusion when breakfast was not included.
See the evidence
The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, all of which were fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented.
Our daily Mesclun breakfast was delicious and never boring with Chef Louie and team always changing up the menu to keep it interesting for long-staying guests like us.
it says with breakfast but when we get there the staff said it doesnt have breakfast because we book using 3rd part app which is booking.com..
The breakfast buffet was disappointing. Eggs were oily and the longganisa tasted weird. Glad we didn't pay it in advance because there were better breakfast options at Glorietta anyway.See all reviews about breakfast
Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
103 relevant reviewsCheck-in/out is often described as fast, smooth and friendly, with staff such as Kirth, Gelo, Jenny and Kaye praised for early or late flexibility and luggage or transport help. However, repeated complaints cite one- to two-hour waits, unavailable or wrongly assigned rooms, poor updates, deposit/payment confusion, elevator or key-card problems, construction access, and occasional rude service.
See the evidence
There was no available room when we arrived past 4PM, even if check in time was 3PM. When we checked in at around 6PM, we were given a room that was already occupied.
Paid for a night at 2pm night checked in. Made me wait 2 hours in the lobby for my room. Ginally checked in at 4pm.
They take a deposit on arrival (card only and not mentioned on booking.com) then on check out when I handed my card for the refund. They said the charge will be reversed and you'll have the money back in a couple of days. When I did not receive my money back after a week I ask why. I got a message days later saying it can take up to 14 business days.
Kirth was so kind and accommodated our early check in request after a long flight from Dubai. The check in was smooth.See all reviews about check-in / check-out
Facilities: What guests say
116 relevant reviewsClean, accessible serviced-apartment facilities are a strong point: guests repeatedly praise the pool, gym, basketball and tennis courts, kitchen equipment, activities, location and sustainability measures. However, several reports cite aging rooms and equipment, bathroom, drainage and lighting problems, slow Wi‑Fi or outdated TV, limited towels, and occasional construction or access via two elevators; maintenance usually responds promptly.
See the evidence
The pool area and on-site activities kept the little ones entertained, while the relaxed atmosphere gave us a chance to unwind as a family.
Disappointed in cooking utensils, water heater for coffee didnt work, sink and shower and bathroom had issues draining, shower did not get very hot but sinks did, old tv's without access to netflix, etc.
The tennis court and basketball court are a huge bonus too.
It is a serviced apartment so expect a kitchen, a washer and dryer and a dining table.See all reviews about facilities
Restaurant: What guests say
65 relevant reviewsMesclun is repeatedly praised for flavorful, well-presented food, broad Filipino and international choices, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Guests particularly mention sisig pasta, sinigang, desserts, and generous servings. Breakfast is generally varied but can be crowded, while some reports cite slow service, unavailable menu items, high prices, or bland food.
See the evidence
We ordered bulgogi, sisig spaghetti, pizza, California maki, truffle soup, and chicken buttermilk — each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying.
I'd suggest going earlier versus later to beat the breakfast rush.
The restaurant has poor service. Not organised and very average for a "5 stars" hotel. Always lack of something and long to serve the guests.
I'll be neutral on taste of food, quite bland, nothing horrible but nothing great. Quite expensive and the food menu is wrong (see image), when asked about it before paying, just got told about it updating it.See all reviews about restaurant
Pool: What guests say
43 relevant reviewsGuests frequently praise the clean, spacious, attractive pool and adjoining gym, with many calling it large, fantastic, or high-end. The jacuzzi, warm water, poolside dining, and 10 p.m. closing are notable advantages. Recurring drawbacks include occasional cloudiness or dirt, limited shade, crowding, and some comments that the outdoor pool feels small; one family reported it was closed.
See the evidence
The pool is clean, and loved the adjoining bar and their evening special.
The outdoor pool was a bit small but had a jacuzzi with warm water.
Pool is open till 10pm which is perfect to swim after long day
They never opened the pool. We had 2 kids in the family that they never got the chance to enjoy it.See all reviews about pool
Gym: What guests say
29 relevant reviewsThe gym is repeatedly praised as exceptionally large, clean, modern, air-conditioned, and well equipped, with Life Fitness machines, 24-hour access, and a high-end pool area. Guests value the convenience and friendly staff. One review reports that some machines seriously need maintenance, the only notable recurring concern in the evidence.
See the evidence
The hotel gym was the biggest and most well equipped that I've ever seen in a hotel.
OH! THE GYM WAS THE BEST OF ANY HOTEL GYM WE HAVE USED.
The gym is fully equipped and air conditioned.
Some machines in the gym seriously in need of maintenance.See all reviews about gym
Transport: What guests say
14 relevant reviewsOngoing entrance construction repeatedly made hotel drop-offs, pickups, taxis, and Grab access difficult, with unclear pickup-point instructions and limited space. Airport transfers were mixed: some found them excellent or convenient, while others reported an expensive A$76 trip in an old, rattling Toyota and poor transport quality. Basement 3 was easier for car-bag collection.
See the evidence
There was construction going on so it made it extremely difficult to get our Grab vehicle to find location.
The hotel should advise car owners to go to basement 3 and do bag pickup from there is much easier as took 15 minutes to go around and get back into mall hotel car park
The cost of the Airport Transfer was Aus $76.00 in a rattler old Toyota.
the cab itself ia in a bad shape.. had maggots in the cab i got from the hotel.See all reviews about transport
Parking: What guests say
13 relevant reviewsThe hotel offers dedicated, free, safe parking with direct basement access, and several guests found it easy. However, locating the hotel area and exits is repeatedly confusing because signage is inadequate; the shared mall structure can be inefficient or congested, and extra-car parking may be pricey.
See the evidence
There is a very big need to improve the signages to get to the designated parking area of the hotel at the basement 3 level.
Parking was easy and secured.
Parking is roundabout and not efficient. It is shared with the mall (although a secluded part is reserved for the hotel).
Parking for 2 BR unit should be 2 cars.See all reviews about parking
