A Vertical Landmark Above Pacific Place

A Vertical Landmark Above Pacific Place

The first Conrad in Asia

Opened on 1 July 1990, the hotel was the first Conrad property in Asia and forms one of the anchor hotels in Pacific Place’s original master plan. Its identity is that of a high-rise business-luxury hotel rather than a themed or resort-style property.

Architecture from podium to skyline

P&T Architects’ Remo Riva designed the hotel, while Wilson & Associates handled the interiors. The hotel occupies floors 39 to 61 above Pacific Place’s retail and commercial podium, creating a vertical arrival and public-area experience connected directly to the wider complex.

A contemporary Pacific Place setting

Pacific Place underwent a major renovation completed in 2011, involving interior, exterior and architectural changes associated with Thomas Heatherwick. The hotel’s common areas combine lobby and lounge spaces with dining venues and links into the mixed-use development.

Harbour and Peak Views from the Upper Floors

Harbour and Peak Views from the Upper Floors

A substantial high-rise accommodation mix

The property is described as offering approximately 512–513 rooms and suites, including 44 suites. Categories include Deluxe Park Room, Deluxe Harbour Room, Executive Floor Room and Conrad Suite, alongside standard guest rooms.

Elevated views as a defining feature

The upper-tower position makes outlook central to the accommodation experience, with rooms and suites emphasizing views over Victoria Harbour, The Peak and the surrounding Central district.

Cantonese, Italian and International Dining Above Central

Named restaurants across several cuisines

Golden Leaf serves Cantonese cuisine, while Nicholini’s is the Italian restaurant identified as the property’s award-winning dining flagship. Brasserie on the Eighth is associated with French specialties, and Garden Café offers international buffet-style dining.

Bars and lounge settings

The dining collection also includes Lobby Lounge and Pacific Bar, giving the hotel distinct lounge and bar venues alongside its restaurants. The hotel also advertises a coffee house and 24-hour room service.

Child-friendly dining provisions

Food-and-drink services include kid-friendly buffet items and kid meals available on request, adding a practical family option to the hotel’s broader restaurant and bar offering.

The principal outdoor leisure feature is a heated swimming pool open year-round and accessible to all ages. One listed schedule gives daily opening hours from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Poolside relaxation facilities

The pool area provides pool towels, sun loungers or beach chairs and a pool bar. It is linked with the hotel’s Jacuzzi or whirlpool and wider wellness facilities.

Fitness at any hour

The 24-hour health club includes a fitness centre, fitness classes, personal trainer availability and fitness and spa locker rooms, supporting both independent exercise and scheduled training.

Sauna, steam and Jacuzzi facilities

Wellness facilities include a sauna, steam room, hot tub or Jacuzzi and relaxation-oriented spa services, creating a thermal and hydrotherapy component alongside the gym.

A broad massage menu

Massage services and spa packages include full-body, head, foot, neck and back massage options. The wellness offering is integrated into the hotel rather than presented as a separate destination facility.

Admiralty’s Commercial Core and Victoria Barracks Heritage

Between Central, Wan Chai and the waterfront

The hotel is in Admiralty at the edge of Central, positioned between Central, Wan Chai and Hong Kong Island’s waterfront corridors. The surrounding district is known for commercial activity, luxury retail and administrative institutions.

A layered historical setting

Pacific Place stands on land formerly associated with Victoria Barracks, giving the area a colonial and military history that now sits alongside modern office towers, shopping facilities and urban transport infrastructure.

Central business district access

The Admiralty and Queensway setting places the hotel within the central business district and near Central’s business and retail areas. Its position inside Pacific Place provides internal circulation to the complex’s commercial and shopping functions.

Service9.2Consistently praised staff and concierge (helped recover a phone, attentive, lovely service); guests repeatedly highlight excellent and helpful personnel.
Location9.3Very strong theme: ideal location above a mall and beside the metro, central to restaurants and attractions — described as perfect and central to everything guests need.
Room Quality7.6Mixed feedback: some rooms have excellent views and comfortable beds, but several comments note tired/outdated design, poor furniture and maintenance issues (broken bath plug).
Amenities8.8Positive mentions of pool (with cabanas), lounge access, gym and live music in the bar; amenities considered a highlight by many guests.
Value for Money8.7Several guests report excellent value and make this their default hotel in HK; a few note it may not match other 5-star properties exactly, but overall perceived as good value.

Staff: What guests say

165 relevant reviews

Staff are repeatedly praised as friendly, attentive, professional, and helpful across reception, housekeeping, dining, the pool, and executive lounge. Guests single out concierge assistance and personalized service, including help recovering a phone and arranging gluten-free meals. A few report impersonal or rude service, and one disputed laundry charge.

See the evidence
Henry diligently coordinated the special preparation of gluten free meals for me when such options were not part of the normal buffet spread.
Excellent Concierge helped recover a phone I left in taxi.
Service was efficient but impersonal, lacking the warmth and recognition found in other luxury lounges.
Moby was using a rude tone and then ignored my request.

Rooms: What guests say

182 relevant reviews

Rooms are often praised for their generous size, comfortable beds, cleanliness and striking harbour, mountain or Peak views. However, dated decor and furnishings recur, and some guests report mould or smoke smells, stained carpets, poor lighting, faulty drains or other maintenance problems. Room condition and views vary; non-harbour rooms may miss the scenery.

See the evidence
The room itself was very large, very clean, very modern, had a very comfortable bed and offered amazing views over the Harbour.
The room finishes are outdated, many used to smoke in here, and even though this is now a non-smoking room, the smell has permeated the carpet and furniture!
The room was very spacious and comfortable.
The hot water in my shower didn’t work and despite requesting it to be fixed/sorted twice, it never was!!

Overall: What guests say

113 relevant reviews

Guests frequently praise the Conrad Hong Kong’s beautiful, comfortable setting, welcoming staff, executive lounge, harbor views, and convenient connection to a mall and train station. Many say they would return. Others find it expensive for the value and say facilities are aging or need refurbishment; reports of inconsistent service and a delayed deposit refund also appear.

See the evidence
Convenient that it is attached to a mall and a train station.
Club lounge has a spectacular harbor view and provided not bad happy hour.
The hotel is getting slightly old and should be refurbished.
Great Hotel but terrible reception response .. took $22,000 deposit on the 2nd of July and left on the 7th and promised a refund within 14 days !!! and I am still waiting.

Location: What guests say

177 relevant reviews

The standout is the central Pacific Place location, with direct mall access and convenient connections to Admiralty MTR, buses and trams; Hong Kong Park and the Peak Tram are also walkable. Guests value the shopping, dining and harbor views, though some find the entrance hard to locate and walking routes confusing or inconvenient.

See the evidence
Another bonus of the hotel is that it is built on top of a large shopping centre (lots of places to eat along with a choice of both high end and general shops) which in turn gives direct access to the local metro (MTR) station (Admiralty) along with bus stops and the tram stops.
The hotel is right next to Hong Kong Park, walking distance from the lower Peak Tram station and Admiralty MTR station.
The hotel is on top of a luxury mall and the entrance is hard to find. Basically they assume you arrive by car.
Central location, but difficult to walk anywhere due to highway system around the hotel.

Breakfast: What guests say

118 relevant reviews

Breakfast was often praised as delicious, plentiful, and varied, with fresh food, eggs cooked to order, and attentive allergy accommodations. However, reviews repeatedly mention crowded dining areas, long queues, and limited or repetitive choices; some guests found the buffet overly Asian-focused, while others reported inconsistent quality, stale bread, and slow or incorrect service.

See the evidence
Breakfast was a highlight — not only was the buffet selection extensive and delicious, but the chef went out of his way to prepare a special nut-free meal for my daughter, ensuring her safety and comfort.
Cramped breakfast area hardly space to walk properly without bumping into someone.
The buffet leaned heavily toward Asian dishes, seemingly tailored to the hotel’s primary clientele from mainland China.
At breakfast, there is a huge line, which is disappointing as it closes at 10:30 AM regardless of the queue.

Facilities: What guests say

74 relevant reviews

Elevators are the most recurring complaint: despite six lifts, guests often reported overcrowding and waits of 5–10 minutes or longer, especially at busy times. Many also described rooms, bathrooms and public areas as dated or worn. Positives include the pool and attentive poolside service, the harbour-view Executive Lounge, live music, and direct access to a large shopping mall.

See the evidence
Every visit required waiting for elevators that were chronically overloaded.
overall facilities while clean looks poorly maintained i.e. The elevator buttons were dimly lit and difficult to see
The Executive Lounge provides a lovely afternoon tea and evening drinks and canapés with a great view over the harbour and wonderful personal service.
The Pool and Gym struck me as particularly brilliant facilities; the level of solicitude in the poolside service was especially stunning.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say

35 relevant reviews

Check-in and checkout were often described as smooth, but long queues and slow service recur, especially at checkout; one guest waited 15–20 minutes. Experiences varied: some guests received early check-in or upgrades, while another waited an hour past the standard check-in time for a room, without an apology. Slow elevators were also mentioned.

See the evidence
Check‑out took 15–20 minutes due to long queues, with no staff trying managing the situation.
Our check-in however was not a good experience, we arrived early and were prepared to wait until reg check-n time but after asking if the room could be ready early or on time, when we came back to the front desk the room was still not ready 30 min past check-in, we had another 30-40 min wait time until the room was ready, an hour past normal time, no apology, no comp.
Check in and out service super slow!! Never experienced anything like it.
Early check-in was possible -> now that's what you call exemplary customer service!

Restaurant: What guests say

30 relevant reviews

Guests often praised the restaurants, especially breakfast, Golden Leaf, and Nicholini’s lunch, with varied food and some memorable dishes. Breakfast was also described as small, crowded, and on one occasion poorly managed, with rude staff and disappointing food. Golden Leaf was called good but pricey; opinions of Nicholini’s varied, including a report of stomach problems.

See the evidence
Breakfast was cramped, and the restaurant staff were rude. The two of us had to sit at a four-person table with another family of three. The next day, we were again forced to sit with two strangers.
The hotel had several restaurants and breakfast buffet was wonderful!
Golden Leaf restaurant was good, but pricey!
Nicholinis food below par and resulted in stomach problems for 2 out of three guests.

Pool: What guests say

31 relevant reviews

Guests often praised the outdoor pool as pleasant or beautiful, with a heated pool, jacuzzi, and cabanas among its appealing features. Others found the pool and spa small, noted little sun because of surrounding skyscrapers, or complained about heavy chlorination and a 10 PM closing time. Several guests said the pool was closed during their stay.

See the evidence
The swimming pool was closed and had we known we wouldn’t have booked to stay there.
Nice pool but no sun due to location between skyscrapers
And to add something else, the pool is very chlorinated; if you don't have diving goggles, the sensation in your eyes can be quite bothersome.
Excellent outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, saunas.

Gym: What guests say

11 relevant reviews

Opinions on the gym are mixed. Some guests praise the well-set-out fitness facilities, and one notes an upgrade adding a squat rack and ski erg. Others describe it as small, cold, tucked away on the lower level with no view, limited equipment and mirrors, and no space for stretching or floor exercises.

See the evidence
Gym has been upgraded- addition of squat rack and ski erg most welcome!
There is a big gym which is very well set out.
Gym is like after thought, stuffed away in some side corner below restaurant.
Gym hardly has any mirrors and very poor range of exercise equipment.
