I’ve been to Hong Kong around twenty times, but The Upper House is the one hotel I would choose again and again.

The top rate service and calm beauty of the place combine to make a magical experience that keeps me coming back.

We stayed at the Upper House during our last trip to Hong Kong and it was an absolutely amazing experience.

This is undoubtedly the place I will choose over and over again every time I am in Hong Kong.

After 10 years of returning, we can confidently say that everything about The Upper House is simply perfect.

Love all the amenity arranged by them and it is definitely my favourite hotel in Hong Kong.

Staying at The Upper House truly feels like going home.

Probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at.

I had an unforgettable night at my biggest day.

Swire Hotels continues to set the hospitality standard in this part of the world and that the Upper House remains a firm fixture among the very best hotels in the world is testament to the ingenuity, diligence and scrupulous attention to detail of an extremely professional team.

This 117 key property has enjoyed immense popularity since its opening in 2009, on the upper levels of an eighties skyscraper in Admiralty, as the inaugural hotel to be designed by André Fu and the cornerstone for his later glowing career.

We’ve been staying here for business and pleasure for 20 years, and in the best possible way, nothing has changed - if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, but somehow they manage to keep improving on perfection.

Our first stay at The Upper House was amazing throughout, from the style and the design of the hotel to the impeccable service and attention to details to the breathtaking view from the top floor restaurant Salisterra.

Absolutely stunning stay - numerous little details making us feel seen, celebrated and loved - I know that sounds like a lot, but it was truly one of the most remarkably and unique hotel stays ever.

Staff were extremely accommodating – helping us out extensively with the various luggage and bits we had to carry, working with our production and photography crew members on the morning of our wedding when we held our traditional Chinese tea ceremony, providing us with a Chinese tea set, and generally being very attentive.

In particular, I have never had such special and attentive care as we received from Paul - who went out of his way to make us feel at home, showing us to our room and taking the time to make sure we had everything we needed.

Last but not least I’d like to thank one of the guest experience managers, Edward Tang, who has never failed to do his best to personally look after me, as well as my friends and family who visit the House, every time I visit.

The staff at Upper House are warm and friendly and went out of their to help me with an in room massage alongside fantastic recommendations of local hiking trails and local food spots.

Special shout out to Sharon the senior guest liaison manager who gave excellent recommendations on where to eat and get a spa treatment (among questions I put to her).

I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else on my next visit such an exceptional hotel with amazing service, facilities and a team that create magical guest experiences.

All along we simply felt welcome - also Edward was there for a chat many times, and we could tell that all efforts were made.

Perhaps it was just me, but one male bartender and one other male waiter seemed cold and "un-smiling" while I was there for lunch.

The wonderful Angela, Kim, K Ma, Paul and team led by Edward, you are what makes The Upper House above and beyond!

What makes it my home when I am away from home is the staff.

The effervescent director of guest experience, Edward, accompanies me into the residential heaven.

Over our four-day stay, the staff made us feel completely at home.

Guest services are extraordinary and ensure a home away from home experience.

From the moment we entered, everyone was very friendly and enthusiastic.

Every time they go above expectation to create a memorable experience.

The wonderful caring staff were attentive to our every needs.

Our suite (#09) had great view of city and harbor, and gave a spectacular view of firework during Chinese New Year (so we didn't need to go to the Bar Lounge to watch the firework).

Also the hardware and design of the rooms is undoubtedly of world-class standard, with Andrews Fu's original design setting a subtle tone and, at the same time, boasting elegance and beauty.

One thing I would also like to note, the room was constantly being cleaned and topped up with anything we used (coffee, drinks, cosmetics etc) throughout the days of our stay.

Every detail has been thought of; up to date charging points next to the bed, a mini kitchenette and even equipping the dressing room with a Dyson hairdryer and yoga mat.

The rooms are amazing- Pale wood furnishings, huge bathroom with a tub and rain shower and a separate area to hang up clothing- more a small apartment than a room.

The views facing water, city and hills are breathtaking, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom huge, the bath tub and shower allow daily hygiene with marvellous outlooks.

Our harbour view room was very spacious with a large comfy bed and designed with clean lines and minimalist taste, whilst also feeling very homely.

The shower has both a rain head and a hand held shower with strong water pressure - I loved taking a shower here!

The soothing oaky muteness filtrates the sizeable bed chamber and vanity area and precipitates the minimal Noh climax in the limestone-lined bathroom.

In the evenings and nights, our room contrasted perfectly by giving us a private and serene space high above its surroundings.

Third, you don't need a key card to get to the guest room levels, although it seemed pretty safe for us.

The rooms are spacious, stylish, and always impeccably clean (and made ready by the time you get back from breakfast).

The attention to detail can be seen everywhere, not just in the room itself, but throughout the entire hotel.

I am immediately mesmerized by the unhindered vista of the Victoria Harbour through the picture window of Suite 90.

The bathroom and shower both also overlooked the harbour with a separate area with his and hers basins.

Excellent fit and finish to the rooms and the quality of every little thing seemed effortless but perfect.

The suite itself is spacious with incredible view of Hong Kong harbour, cityscape and greeneries all around.

I spent many hours soaking in the tub, enjoying a bath bomb thoughtfully sent up by Paul.

The combination of natural wood, bamboo, the warm tones, and abundant daylight created a peaceful sanctuary.

I booked the upper suite as my bridal room for my wedding and it was great.

The soaking bathtub is placed meticulously in the center as if it were an altar.

The rooms are exceptionally spacious, beautifully designed, and offer stunning views of the city.

Lay-out is well thought out and it is more like a very nice apartment.

The room had an amazing view, with a spacious bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.

The hotel is beautifully appointed with more than ample space in our suite.

The room itself was stunning, spacious, and extremely comfortable.

Location is excellent - you're tucked away near the Admiralty metro stop and abutting the Pacific Mall - makes for a nice walk through Hong Kong Park to get to Central and just steps away from yummy eateries in Wan Chai.

Excellent connection to all parts of the SAR thanks to its proximity to MTR Admiralty station, high-end shopping options in the same Pacific Place complex, and relaxing elements of greenery in Hong Kong Park and the Mid-Levels near-by.

The location couldn’t be more convenient—perched above Pacific Place in Admiralty with easy access to the MTR, shops, and restaurants—yet the atmosphere felt completely serene, like a private retreat in the clouds.

Located in between the busy Central and bustling Causeway Bay districts, it was the perfect urban base camp for our metropolitan getaway filled with city walks and shopping.

The location is great considering other alternative dining options, sight seeing like the Peak, the botanical gardens and architectural landmarks, all were at walkable distance from the hotel.

If there's any downside, it's that the hotel is quite buzzy with many events open to the public and the guest floors are pretty much accessible to anyone.

The Upper House has a great location with easy access to the best of Hong Kong’s shopping, restaurants and transportation - walking into Central is a breeze.

The location is perfect; nestled right in the middle of the city whilst only a few blocks from some of the best walking paths into the mountains.

The property is at its finest by the design and its location at Pacific place which you can do shopping and also dining without going anywhere else.

Location is fantastic—away from the hustle of Central, but Pacific Place is right there for shopping and dining, and the MTR is an easy walk away.

The hotel is situated in an extremely convenient location — easily accessible by MTR and the charming Ding Ding tram, which made exploring the city effortless.

And Pacific Place the only Mall I go to with everything you need to get and best best spacious and clean mall in Hong Kong.

At the very heart of Hong Kong Island — right above Pacific Place shopping mall, with direct access to the MTR and numerous bus routes.

There is so much to do and see in HK and this hotel is in a great area to get out and about from.

I was very happy we stayed here: walking distance to Sun/Star/Moon street, so I managed to go there quickly despite the tight schedule.

There are many restaurants in the area (Admiralty) and the hotel restaurant on the 49th floor is exceptional for food, service and view.

Location is good - next to a shopping centre and right near a metro station so well connected for the whole city.

Will definitely be back with my family to stay at "The House" again and try its penthouse or suite with harbour view.

The location is ideal because the hotel is above a very high end shopping mall and a short walk to the subway.

The objective facts are easy to describe, with the House's supreme location offering all you could wish for in Hong Kong.

Short walk to Central and all transport hubs as well as all the restaurants and bars of Wan Chai.

The team greets me and escorts me ascending the grand escalator lined by lanterns in dimming lava-tone light.

The hotel is also conveniently located just one metro stop from Tsim Sha Sui and Nathan Road.

The hotel's location was great and it was very convenient to go anywhere from there.

I would highly recommend the Harbour View - the sight at night is breathtaking!

If you want a laid-back luxury vibe in HK, this place nails it.

It’s a shame that Hong Kong and Berlin are so far apart.

The location is very central, close to metro and ferry stations.

The hotel itself is perfectly located.

Very nice view, very quiet.

Soft drinks and staples are well stocked in the mini cellar of the complementary Maxi Bar, and I just cannot help but grin at the ultra-healthy welcome snacks placed on the coffee table next to the yoga mats and blocks.

With over ten collaborators offering everything from sauna and cold plunges, conscious therapy, and chiropractic care, to reiki, gemstone healing, and even make-up services, there’s something for every kind of restoration and renewal.

Possibly better suited for shorter business stays as after 5 days we would have loved a pool, outdoor relaxing space and more in house dinning options ( expect in 5 star)

There is a bar on the same floor (The Green Room) which has a DJ and offers stunning views of the harbour at night with a friendly and buzzy vibe.

I unfortunately had too much work to fully take advantage of all the in-house amenities but really enjoyed the Monocle cafe and popup for my morning and afternoon coffees.

With panoramic views of both the lush green mountains and Victoria Harbour, you get the best of both worlds — nature and the city’s iconic skyline.

And one more thing, I like the canvas tote with the hotel's name on it very much but I couldn't find any place to buy it.

Just need a scale in the room and a bit more light in the escalator area between ground and first floor to make it perfect.

There are no business centers within this hotel - but the team creatively helped us find a fix on their expansive 49th floor.

Check out the guest toilets too, as they’re as stunning as the rest of the hotel, again - the view is worth seeing!

Everything, from the lobby to our room and the fitness center, was spotlessly clean and clearly very well-maintained, modern, and cared for.

I love the lawn to chill at whether I’m not in the room and decided to just chill at the hotel.

Standing on the grass, surrounded by buildings yet feeling the calm of a jungle, is a rare gift in this city.

The bar and dining experience on site is also amazing and I would definitely recommend heading there for a night in.

Then the long dark escalator which takes you to the seventh floor is not the most welcoming beginning to your stay.

Staffs at the coffee bakery station on the second floor you can find all gluten free bakeries and detox juices.

We were given lots of lovely gifts throughout our stay from the most comfortable PJ sets to smart monogrammed razors.

The bath, in-room yoga mat and the hot yoga on offer, allowed me to relax when I had any breaks.

I did enjoy light snacks and cocktails in the bar and the sliders were the best I have ever eaten.

There was no lift in the small lobby, making it difficult to carry all the suitcases to the small lobby.

The Lawn and The Sky Lounge are perfect for intimate and large events and are incredibly chic and luxurious.

The outdoor garden is a hidden gem — a pocket of green in the middle of Hong Kong’s skyline.

The iconic 'Green Room' at the Upper House Hong Kong just hosted my daughters wonderful 16th birthday party!

Having opened in 2009, the décor is now showing its age, but everything is still very well maintained.

Maxibar with Generous snacks and drinks are really incredible for relaxing and enjoyable holidays.

The hardware in this famous hotel has always been a standout fixture.

One of the most unique aspects is their wellness partnerships.

TheUpper House excels in every possible way - the facilities.

Food is another highlight; we returned from our wedding banquet having not eaten very much, and the late night menu gave us a good spread of selections to pick from.

And their bar and restaurant on the 49th floor is magical - great views, grab bar, great vibe and a restaurant that has the most welcoming couch and table configurations.

The bar and restaurant are wonderful highlights — vibrant in the evening for a drink, and equally enjoyable in the morning for breakfast with stunning views.

When making the reservation, Sharon Lee kindly walked me through different options and recommended the weekend brunch, which turned out to be a great choice.

The restaurants he recommended were outstanding—my dad enjoyed the meals so much that he said he’d return to Hong Kong just for that!

We still frequent the Salistera Restaurant and the Green Room Bar, two of our favourite places to entertain and hang out with friends.

After long days of sightseeing, we opted to stay in and have dinner at the hotel on a number of evenings.

The Salisterra amplifies the immersive experience through their anticipation of guest needs, proficient product knowledge, excellent presentation and seamless service standards.

A quick call to the room service team and food was promptly served to our suite in under 30 minutes.

The food is world class including the in room dining options which are varied and always to a great standard.

Undoubtedly the stunning bird's eye view from the top floor of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon is one stellar aspect.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to eat in the restaurant; we just had some great drinks at the bar.

We enjoyed delicious cocktails with a view at Salisterra in the evening and the amazing breakfast the following morning.

My partner raved about his full English after two weeks of a lot of local food in HK.

Upon arrival, we had lunch at the Salisterra restaurant while waiting for our rooms, which was very nice.

I also recommend visiting The Continental, just a short stroll away — delicious food and fantastic service.

Salisterra, the restaurant on the 49th floor did delicious breakfasts in the evening did drinks and dinner.

We also enjoyed a nightcap at the Green Bar with an amazing view over the city.

Service in the restaurant and bar was excellent, and breakfast offered a wide variety of choices.

Thanks to the team’s quiet but consistent care, it became a really memorable birthday meal.

The food was excellent, and my friend was genuinely happy the entire time.

They gave him some cupcakes plus a great dinner at the hotel restaurant.

We also had dinner and drinks at Salisterra, the top floor restaurant.

The salt-baked sea bass and pineapple tarte tartine at Salisterra are delicious!

Ordered room service and was well balanced and tasty.

The bar is like a scene from a movie.

The cuisine is so delicious.

Breakfast (and in particular, the Japanese and Chinese breakfast sets) is one of the parts of the House which I always look forward to whenever I stay; the quality of the food and the generous portions all speak for themselves!

There is no huge variety, but the quality of food and the relaxed atmosphere are very enjoyable, especially compared to other hotel breakfast settings.

The à-la-carte only breakfast in the beautiful Salisterra restaurant on the 49th floor excelled, at an even higher rate as during earlier stays.

We especially loved starting our mornings upstairs with breakfast and winding down in the same spot with sunset drinks—both experiences were equally memorable.

Some misunderstandings occurred where I received black tea instead of green tea when I ordered a green tea at the Cafe Gray Deluxe.

They serve some of the best breakfasts anywhere and it was great to see some new items on the refreshed menu.

We were there for 8 nights and tried all set menus and many a la carte combinations with complete satisfaction.

Breakfast at The Salisterra on the 49th floor was outstanding, the menu varied for all tastes and the food excellent.

They offered a great mix of local Hong Kong specialties and classic Western options, all beautifully presented and delicious.

The breakfast is served at the table and is of very high quality, which I really appreciate.

The à la carte breakfast is excellent, with great coffee, and definitely worth booking with your room.

Special notice that I had my best boiled egg in the house! everyone should try it once!

(Tip: the HK style peanut butter french toast with maple syrup is not to be missed.)

Despite my late arrival, the House’s Guest Experience Team made the check-in process effortless, introducing the room to me and arranging the checkout process.

This includes the possibility of extremely early check-in upon arrival and check-outs after 8 pm on both departure days.

The hotel doesn't have a pool but we were given passes to use the spa facilities at the Marriott.

I recommend using the sauna and cold plunge at 10x longevity especially if you are hungover or jet lagged.

I particularly loved the addition of the longevity spa suite with a cold bath / infra red sauna etc.

The small size of the gym (it is the same same size of the room that has been outfitted with the gym)

There’s a decent gym that is usually not too occupied.

There is a gym but no pool.

Top-tier gym.

First of all, there is no swimming pool in the hotel, which seems unusual for a luxury hotel.

Again, I spent many hours lying by the pool, enjoying the peace and quiet.

And no pool.
