We analysed 2,474 reviews and found 607 containing specific, useful feedback about Villa Fontaine Premier Haneda Airport – Directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3. The feedback is organised by topic so you can quickly see what guests say about the property.

      Location: What guests say

      393 relevant reviews

The hotel’s strongest advantage is its direct Terminal 3 connection at Haneda, typically a 5–10-minute indoor walk to arrivals or check-in, making early flights and late arrivals stress-free. Airport restaurants, shops, and monorail access add convenience. The trade-off is distance from central Tokyo, with occasional signage, walking, shuttle, noise, and view concerns.

      See the evidence
This property opened three and a half years ago and is located an easy 5 to 10 minute walk from the arrivals lobby in terminal 3.
The hotel offered a quiet environment amidst the bustle of the airport.
It is located at the airport, which is perfect after a flight to be able to sleep immediately, but it is far outside of Tokyo, so as a 'transfer hotel' it's fine, but we wouldn't want to stay longer there considering the location.
Take note that there is a bit of a walk from terminal 3 to the hotel, and if you're arriving or departing from a different terminal, make sure you allocate some time for the (free) shuttle bus as well.

      Rooms: What guests say

      345 relevant reviews

Rooms are most often described as spacious, spotless, modern, and exceptionally comfortable, with excellent beds, toiletries, pajamas, and complimentary minibar drinks. River views, sometimes toward Mount Fuji, are distinctive. However, some rooms are small or noisier than expected, and isolated complaints mention a blocked sink, thin towels, uncomfortable furniture, and difficult temperature controls.

      See the evidence
The room was very spacious and super comfortable with a lovely view of the river and Mount Fuji in the distance.
Super comfortable bed, perfectly clean and spacious bathroom, amazing little extras like coffee machine and free drinks (with and without alcohol) in the room.
The most significant problem was that the bathroom sink was clearly partially blocked. Water drained very slowly and regularly pooled in the basin, making simple tasks such as washing my face and brushing my teeth frustrating.
You could hear the water pipes from the onsen above us all the time. They gave us another room on the second floor at night, which was unfortunately also loud due to the ventilation.

      Overall: What guests say

      239 relevant reviews

A highly convenient, peaceful airport hotel attached to Haneda Terminal 3, repeatedly praised for comfortable beds, cleanliness, elegant rooms, professional staff, excellent onsen/spa, included minibar, and river views. Guests often recommend it for overnight transit or early flights, though some consider it expensive or overpriced, and one family reported adjoining rooms were not connected.

      See the evidence
Excellent Hotel close to the airport amazing Onsen
Free bar, short distance to the airport shops, and a welcome gift made this hotel the best airport hotel I have ever stayed at.
Premier is the quieter and more lux side of the 2 Villa Fontaine Hotels.
Aside from the convenience of being attached to the airport, the hotel did not offer the level of quality, service, or facilities that would justify the cost.

      Staff: What guests say

      270 relevant reviews

Staff are most often described as friendly, welcoming, attentive, professional, and helpful, with strong reception service. Guests particularly value fluent English, luggage handling, assistance with early departures, and warm check-in gestures. However, some report indifferent or rude restaurant and reception staff, limited English, and inconsistent warmth.

      See the evidence
The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and check-in was a breeze (the warm towel to welcome us was such a lovely gesture!).
We received excellent service with our luggage upon arrival and it was stored until the room was available and dropped to the room when it was.
The desk staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful.
Most of the restaurant staff was dismissive and unfriendly.

      Spa: What guests say

      177 relevant reviews

The rooftop onsen is the hotel’s standout feature: spacious, clean, relaxing, open 24/7, included for guests, and equipped with varied baths, sauna, steam room, and indoor/outdoor areas. It can be extremely crowded and is shared with the neighboring hotel; some guests found access confusing, while others reported closure, tepid water, odors, or inaccurate runway-view advertising.

      See the evidence
The very good surprise was the onsen on the roof : a real Japanese spa, very large and clean with lots of options (steam room, dry sauna, several pools/jacuzzis, different water types, different temperatures, vast showers all available 24/24).
The onsen is shared with the cheaper extremely busy hotel next door
The onsen / spa was completely closed during our stay that is not mentioned when booking through booking.com.
The onsen on the roof does not have any view at all of the runways or the airplanes as they advertise - it is a complete scam.

      Facilities: What guests say

      164 relevant reviews

Facilities are consistently described as clean, modern, and exceptionally well maintained, with a standout complimentary onsen featuring indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, and steam rooms. Guests also value the free minibar and airport-terminal access. Downsides include confusing lift and spa access, limited or crowded lounge areas, and expensive food and drinks.

      See the evidence
It’s complimentary for guests and genuinely top-notch—spacious with both indoor and outdoor areas. Outside, there are three large pools; inside, multiple pools plus dry sauna and steam options.
Free mini bar with water, beer, saki, green tea, orange juice and there is a coffee machine and kettle for the tea/coffee they provide.
I also found the hotel’s facilities confusing to use. Access to the spa and onsen was not clearly explained.
The buffet was very expensive for the food and atmosphere.
      See all reviews about facilities

      Breakfast: What guests say

      127 relevant reviews

Breakfast is often praised as delicious, high-quality, and offering Japanese and Western choices, with some guests enjoying fresh ingredients and Mount Fuji views. However, recurring complaints cite limited or repetitive buffet selection, disappointing quality, expensive pricing or exclusion from the room rate, and poor suitability for early departures or dietary needs.

      See the evidence
Breakfast was top-notch with fresh ingredients (the salmon was exquisite).
Breakfast can be chosen between Western-style and Japanese-style. Additionally, there is a corner for all-you-can-eat, though the variety is limited.
The breakfast is a DISASTER ... the buffet itself is so small and limited, less variety than the $50 a night business hotels I stayed at in rural Japan.
I had prepaid for a breakfast, but it was only when I sat down that they told me there was no option for a vegan and they couldn't make me anything - that was quite disappointing.

      Restaurant: What guests say

      103 relevant reviews

Dining is convenient, with many restaurants and shops in the attached airport complex and a 24-hour option near the onsen. Restaurants and bars are repeatedly described as expensive, with food ranging from excellent to mediocre or poor. Early closing and limited late-night choices can be problematic; the Italian restaurant and river/Mount Fuji views are positives.

      See the evidence
Restaurants and shopping in the complex were good.
There's also a 24-hour restaurant inside the onsen.
Food in the restaurant was excellent although it was the most expensive we’d had in the whole of our time in Japan
Restaurant closed at 10pm so had to eat in the airport and there were only 3 available options and all busy (wait time).

      Check-in / Check-out: What guests say

      89 relevant reviews

Check-in/out is usually fast, smooth, and friendly, with human or kiosk assistance, luggage storage, and convenient airport access. However, shared Grand/Premier facilities can be confusing. The 3 pm check-in and 11 am checkout are recurring pain points, with expensive early or late fees and occasional long waits.

      See the evidence
Almost no queues at check in with no need to fiddle with the automated check in machines. Instead, we had a human to assist us both efficiently and with a smile. Check out was similarly seamless.
check-in is very confusing and a little chaotic with the two hotels sharing the same space
I didn't like the time the room was available - 3pm in the afternoon when we arrived at 7.30 am in the morning - we had to wait nearly 8 hours after a 14hr. flight from the uk.
One problem that jumped out at me as 11am check out time. I asked if noon was possible. Was quite an additional charge of 30,000 yen, or $215. Really ridiculous.

      Transport: What guests say

      46 relevant reviews

Direct bridge access to Haneda Terminal 3 makes the hotel exceptionally convenient for early or late flights, with flat routes, luggage carts, and nearby check-in. Repeated drawbacks are confusing directions and long walks within Terminal 3, while Terminal 1 or 2 departures require a shuttle, monorail, taxi, or additional guidance.

      See the evidence
It’s connected to Haneda Terminal 3 via a bridge (you will walk for a bit but it’s all flat floor so you can roll your bags all the way to either lift or escalators up to the check in floor).
Bang on terminal 3. Ideal if you're catching an early flight. You arrive on level 2 and take the lift to level 3 for departures. Pretty hassle free access.
Terminal 3 is quite confusing for first time users, and we really had to wander around for a long time until we figured out how to get into the hotel.
The next morning we had to goto Terminal 2 and either had to walk back to Terminal 3 main building and wait for a shuttle bus, OR, instead we had to order a taxi to take us from the hotel to terminal 2.

      Gym: What guests say

      24 relevant reviews

Guests commonly praise the gym as well equipped, extensive, spacious, and sometimes open 24/7, with access often included in the stay alongside the spa/onsen. However, some find it small or poor, citing missing free weights and cable equipment; one guest also missed it because complimentary access was unclear.

      See the evidence
Fantastic spa and gym open 24/7.
I was very pleased that the gym and hot springs were included in the accommodation fee.
The gym has a wide range of equipment.
The gym was poor with no free weights.
