1 photosAn Art Deco High-Rise in Traditional Asakusa

Elevated urban views above old downtown Tokyo
The hotel is a large-scale high-rise property in Nishiasakusa, positioned as a panoramic urban base rather than a ryokan-style stay. Its 326-room footprint combines elevated city outlooks with a location near Asakusa’s historic temple and entertainment district.
Function-led full-service architecture
Public areas are organized around multiple dining venues, meeting rooms, banquet halls and event spaces. The art deco character, concierge facilities, luggage storage, currency exchange, lift access, barber shop and laundry support reinforce its conventional full-service city-hotel format.
Sky Tree and Central Tokyo Room Orientations

Two room sides, two Tokyo panoramas
The 326-room inventory is divided by outlook into Sky Tree View Side and City View Side. Sky Tree View Side rooms face Tokyo Skytree and the Asakusa streetscape; City View Side rooms look toward central Tokyo and Shinjuku, with Mount Fuji visible on clear days.
A Multi-Venue Dining Collection Above Asakusa

Musashi’s 26th-floor international buffet
Musashi, on the 26th floor, is the main restaurant and serves a lavish buffet spanning Japanese, Chinese and Western dishes. It is also identified as an international-cuisine venue and provides buffet breakfast service.
Cantonese, French and Japanese specialities
Karakurenai serves traditional Cantonese cuisine, while Makie is a French-cuisine restaurant associated with higher-floor fine dining and skyline views. Karuta occupies the sixth floor and serves Japanese cuisine with garden views and kimono-clad service.
Café and bar formats
Kapitein provides a coffee-house or café component, complemented by a separate bar and lounge. Together with the restaurants, these venues create a broad dining and drinking layout within the high-rise hotel.
Indoor Swimming with Asakusa and Skytree Outlooks

Timed indoor pool access
The indoor pool operates on weekdays from 7:00–9:00 and 12:00–20:30, with last entry at 20:00. On weekends and national holidays, hours are generally 7:00–9:00 and 10:00–20:30, also with last entry at 20:00.
Seasonal and child-access restrictions
Children under 12 may use the pool only until 18:00 in July and August. Seasonal maintenance closure is scheduled from 10 May 2026 to 13 October 2026.
Pool, Fitness and Massage Facilities in a Full-Service Setting

Fitness-centre access and massage services
The property offers access to a fitness facility and massage services, alongside the indoor pool. The pool is associated with the hotel’s fitness or health-club offering and follows defined operating sessions rather than unrestricted access.
Event infrastructure for business and social functions
Meeting rooms, conference facilities, banquet halls and named event spaces support corporate events, receptions and social functions. Capacity planning accommodates theatre, classroom, buffet and banquet layouts.
Nishiasakusa Beside Tokyo’s Temple and Entertainment Core

Walking access to Senso-ji and Hanayashiki
In Nishiasakusa, Taito-ku, the hotel sits within walking reach of Senso-ji, Hanayashiki amusement park and Asakusa’s surrounding shopping streets. The area combines temple culture, traditional retail lanes, street food, restaurants and high pedestrian activity.
A base between historic Asakusa and wider Tokyo
Asakusa provides access to the Sumida and Ueno sides of the city, while the Tokyo Skytree area is reachable by local transit and taxi. The neighborhood’s historic attractions and transport connections support wider Tokyo sightseeing from the hotel.

Guest reviews
We analysed 4,079 reviews and found 948 containing specific, useful feedback about Asakusa View Hotel. The feedback is organised by topic so you can quickly see what guests say about the property.
Rooms: What guests say
728 relevant reviewsRooms are repeatedly praised for cleanliness, comfort, generous space by Tokyo standards, quality bedding, and spectacular Tokyo Skytree or city views, especially from executive rooms on upper floors. Recurring drawbacks include dated furnishings, occasional musty smells, small rooms or bathrooms, limited luggage storage, and missing bedside outlets or in-room coffee facilities.
See the evidence
The view from the room, the restaurant, and the bar is breathtaking over Tokyo Skytree and the Asakusa temple
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The Street Side Executive room was spacious, with stylish and elegant interior design, and a wonderful view of Tokyo from the 21st floor.
If you don't pay for a premium room, you get an old musty room that smells of moldSee all reviews about rooms
Location: What guests say
708 relevant reviewsThe hotel is repeatedly praised for its excellent Asakusa location: steps from Senso-ji, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and attractions, with several stations nearby. Views of the temple, pagoda and Tokyo Skytree are a standout. Transit to Shinjuku and Shibuya can take time, and station access varies by line.
See the evidence
We really liked this hotel; it is located in a skyscraper just steps away from Senso-ji, in a strategic position, with the Asakusa subway station practically underneath it.
The area is very lively, full of shops, restaurants, and 7eleven; from here you can move around to explore other neighborhoods of Tokyo, it’s an excellent base for experiencing the city.
A TX subway entrance just under the building, and a limousine station shuttled from and to Narita and Haneda Airport, it’s convenient when you have big luggages.
I didn’t realise how big Tokyo is so note that it can take a while to get to Shinjuku and Shibuya from here.See all reviews about location
Staff: What guests say
483 relevant reviewsStaff are consistently described as exceptionally friendly, professional, attentive, and helpful, with efficient luggage handling, airport transfers, early check-in, and personalized care. A standout account praises compassionate medical assistance and waived charges. Isolated concerns include rushed dinner service, limited English among some staff, centralized air-conditioning restrictions, and a denied request for buffet bread.
See the evidence
Whether it's the luggage delivery or the 5 AM taxi to the airport, the staff is efficient, attentive, and very friendly
We are really grateful to Ms. Chen, a Chinese staff member at the front desk! After learning about the situation, she not only did not make things difficult for us but was also very proactive in helping us contact the medical system and arrange medical care.
The service was quite poor, zero interest, the quality of the dinner was nothing special, and to top it off, at 9:22 PM they were giving us the bill without us having asked for it.
A large part of the staff does not understand or speak English.See all reviews about staff
Overall: What guests say
245 relevant reviewsReviews overwhelmingly praise the convenient Asakusa location, spacious clean rooms, helpful staff, excellent breakfast and restaurants, and memorable Skytree or temple views. Families find it comfortable and welcoming, with many repeat guests. Recurring reservations include that some rooms lack the expected tower view, while some guests feel service and standards fall below five-star expectations.
See the evidence
Between the fantastic location, incredible Skytree views, wonderful staff, great breakfast, and thoughtful service, we had an excellent experience.
Large, clean and comfortable hotel in a convenient location.
We also paid expensive because we thought the tower view was included which wasn’t.
This is not a 5-star standard.See all reviews about overall
Breakfast: What guests say
337 relevant reviewsBreakfast is repeatedly praised as abundant, delicious, and exceptionally varied, combining Japanese, Asian, Western, American, vegetarian, and freshly prepared dishes, with 26th-floor views of Tokyo Skytree. Recurring drawbacks include a 9:30 AM closing time, high pricing, long queues, overcrowding and noise, occasional repetitive menus, and inconsistent quality.
See the evidence
But the real highlight is the breakfast; I haven't found such a rich and delicious breakfast anywhere else in Japan; there’s everything, both hot and cold, both Western and Asian.
The breakfast buffet had a large variety of American breakfast items as well as specialty Japanese dishes.
The breakfast was a delicious, buffet style meal on one of the highest floors with another great view of the tower.
The buffet selection is worth a 3-star rating (no seeds for example).See all reviews about breakfast
Facilities: What guests say
217 relevant reviewsFacilities are often praised as clean, attractive, functional, and extensive, with striking rooftop views, varied buffet, lounges, gym, pool, laundry, and thoughtful amenities. However, pool access can be expensive or restricted, executive lounges may offer limited food, the gym is sparsely equipped, some facilities are dated or under renovation, and heating or air-conditioning controls can frustrate.
See the evidence
The hotel and facilities were spotless throughout our stay.
The swimming pool is incredibly expensive even for hotel guests and the standard is from the 80s.
Executive lounge. Very little was offered (minimal snacks) and you couldn't help yourself to snacks, as is usually the case in other lounges, but they were served to the table.
However, I was disappointed by the lack of equipment in the gym, which only had two treadmills, one cycling machine and one multipress.See all reviews about facilities
Pool: What guests say
100 relevant reviewsThe 20m indoor pool is clean, relaxing, and unusual for central Tokyo, with towels, caps, and a spa bath. However, repeated complaints cite a substantial per-person fee, typically ¥3,000–3,300, advance reservations, limited hours, tattoo restrictions, and strict children’s access rules; some guests found it old or poorly maintained and booking information unclear.
See the evidence
Pool available only for a fee and expensive: this is the first time this has happened to me anywhere in the world!
When we arrived we found that children under 13 years old can only use the pool during July and August (and there was a Y3,300 charge per person to use the pool).
Unfortunately we were not able to use the swimming pool due to our tattoos so that was a little disappointing.
The pool was old, poorly maintained, the windows were dirty (hard to see the view of the city!), it looked like a municipal pool built in the 80s.See all reviews about pool
Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
99 relevant reviewsCheck-in is consistently strict at 3:00 PM; early access is often refused or charged even when rooms are ready, though luggage storage is a useful workaround. The noon checkout is repeatedly praised, and post-checkout baggage storage helps late departures. Checkout is usually quick via machines, but some guests prefer human assistance and report occasional billing or service confusion.
See the evidence
We had just flown 13 hours from London and arrived at the hotel around 8am to be told we could not check in before 3pm.
Then charged extra for wanting to check in a little earlier even though the rooms were ready.
One of the few hotels where check out is 12 pm vs 11 am at other hotels.
although the hotel was very inflexible about early or late check in/out there is a really useful luggage locking room they allowed me to use up to very late the night I was leaving as my flight was at midnight and my check out at 12 noon.See all reviews about check-in / check-out
Restaurant: What guests say
84 relevant reviewsHotel dining is strongest for varied breakfasts, good buffet selection, bakeries, and higher-floor restaurants or bars with exceptional city and Skytree views. Repeated drawbacks include expensive or disappointing buffet meals, sometimes cold food, abrupt service, short opening hours, limited capacity, and closures or full bookings; guests may need nearby alternatives.
See the evidence
Very plentiful and varied breakfasts, including many specialties from Japanese cuisine.
However, the buffet dinner was very disappointing – food was cold and average, and £80 for two (with one beer) felt poor value.
On the day of the visit, they arranged a table where the Skytree was visible in front of us, and all six of us were able to enjoy our meal while watching the colors of the Skytree change.
Limited hours for the restaurants and lounge do not provide a lot of flexibility to eat at the hotel, but the neighborhood offers many alternatives.See all reviews about restaurant
Transport: What guests say
44 relevant reviewsAirport access is a major strength: the limousine bus stops at the hotel entrance, especially convenient for Haneda. Narita service is limited, may not operate, and ticket purchasing can be difficult; there is no free shuttle. Metro access is generally convenient but ranges from next door to a 7–15-minute walk, while taxis can be expensive.
See the evidence
Airport Limousine Bus stop at the front door to and from airports for ¥1,300 per person.
The hotel has a Limousine Bus service to the airport that goes to Haneda Airport five times a day, but only three times to Narita Airport, with the last bus being in the afternoon
For overseas guests, finding the bus company and purchasing tickets is a bit of a task.
it's 7-10 minutes to walk to closest subway station, Tawaramachi.See all reviews about transport
Gym: What guests say
22 relevant reviewsGuests consistently report that the gym is unavailable to regular hotel guests, restricted to club members, or requires an additional fee. When accessible, it is often described as tiny and poorly equipped, with reports of only a few machines, no weights, heat, and occasional closure for repairs; some found it in another building.
See the evidence
The gym is not available to guests at all, but is a membership only facility.
The gym can hardly be called that. 3 treadmills and a chest press. Not even weights.
4 machines, no towels, no water, and the air conditioning was not adjustable, it was really hot.
The only downside was that the gym and swimming pool on the fourth floor were under internal repairs until the end of February, so I couldn't use them.See all reviews about gym
