We booked that hotel partly because there is a bar on the top floor with a beautiful view; on the first night we went there at 10 PM, but the bar was already closed; on the second day we went at 8 PM, but we were rather aggressively denied entry because there was a private party going on...

There is so much potential for this hotel but I felt they were not upfront about the conditions and restrictions until after I booked when They proceeded to send me emails about all the thing offered that were now not happening.

The only thing to criticize is that a hotel of that magnitude does not have a room prepared for people with disabilities; they only provide a chair for bathing, which is not suitable for a person in a wheelchair.

The view was as promised fantastic and a bonus for us was that they had a scale for luggage since it was the last accommodation before our return home.

We are not sure we would return to this hotel in the future simply because there are so many better hotels in Tokyo.

If I come again, I will not stay at the same hotel and I do not recommend it to anyone.

It’s that kind of hotel that remains in your favorite list, and you want to come back sometime

If I go sightseeing in Tokyo again, I would like to stay at the Asakusa View Hotel.

Really everyone is mentioning these negative points in their reviews for years, maybe they should start listening?

Overall, a great hotel. I will come back to stay next time I have the opportunity.

The hotel is beautiful, the view is sublime.

There were stains in the bathtub, stains on the sofa, the wall was peeling, and I couldn't see the Tokyo Skytree properly (I don't think there was any indication that the lower floors wouldn't have a view). There was also no outlet next to the bed (even though it stated there would be one near the bed).

While it’s called a sky tree view, I could only see the upper half of the Tokyo Skytree and could not see Senso-ji Temple at all. This was quite different from the description of the room on the internet.

If you book a room with a view of Tokyo Tower in one of the executive rooms, be prepared for an classy room on an upper floor and an astonishing view of the tower.

The rooms were ok, but things like the tv-remote was sticky from greasy fingers, the bathroom had a moost smell, and there was generally a ‘hidden’ smell from cigarette smoke ‘everywhere’.

We stayed in the standard rooms and I must say that the furnishings and accessories have not been modernized and this does not make the property a true 5-star.

I requested a room with a smoking area but was not quite the best because you can only smoke inside the room which was not what I wanted.

It seems like they spent much of the budjet on the beauty of the service and property. but not on the comfort of a good night sleep.

Additionally, the bidet was full of mold, so much so that when I turned it on, a considerable amount came out that made me feel nauseous.

The rooms were a tighter fit, but if everyone is good about keeping things orderly and tucked away you can move easily in the rooms.

And the view of Tokyo Skytree from the room we selected was simply unbeatable, waking up to that view every morning was truly special.

When I opened the curtains, dust floated around... I turned on the air purifier, but I experienced some allergy symptoms due to the dust.

Our room had two beds pushed together so we decided to sleep on one side together, but the beds were so very comfortable.

The room for 2 is the same size as the triple room, not good if you are a family of 3 like us

The bed was extremely firm, I like firm beds but this one felt like I was laying on a piece of plywood.

The cleanliness in rooms needs urgent improvement to get rid of all stains on the carpets, sofas and all corners in rooms.

The original booking was in a smoking room- we are not sure why this was allocated, as we didn’t request it.

I was first put in a smoking room, which may have been my booking fault, but was so small and smelt.

Other than the typical wish that rooms would be slightly larger (300 sq ft. or more), especially for 3 adults.

We got it cooled a bit but for someone who loves warm weather, it was even too warm for me.

Although it is an old hotel, the cleanliness of the room is very good, and the bed is very comfortable.

With the right room choice, you have an incredible view of the skyline with the Skytree from the bed.

This year, I was very satisfied to enjoy the sunrise, night views, and the Christmas decorations of the Skytree.

For the price we paid, I would have expected at least coffee and tea facilities in the room.

The only thing it had was a wardrobe with 4 hangers to hang clothes and nothing for storage.

There're some spots left in the toilet and long dirty dust on the air shade of air condition.

I booked a standard room, but the bathroom photo posted is different from reality. When I told the front desk, they said to talk to Booking because it was a reservation made through them. I did, but after about two hours of waiting, I couldn't get in touch with the hotel. Indeed, the bathroom was different from the photo, but Booking is just a platform that gets the information from the hotel, and since the photos and information are provided by the hotel, nothing ultimately changed.

I booked a triple room with a view of the Taipei 101, but the room's facilities are quite old. The sink and bathtub in the bathroom have slow water flow, and the sink is clogged. The dust cover of the hairdryer inlet is covered in dust, resulting in very little airflow, and the filter of the air purifier is also covered in dust.

Wow, when we returned to the room at eight in the evening, not only was the door left open, but the window was wide open as well, and it was still broken 🥲... In the end, we had to wait until almost nine for someone to come and fix it, and there was no other assistance provided...

Next, we entered the room and saw that the staff had prepared a baby crib for our little one (I had inquired beforehand if the hotel could provide this). It wasn't just an ordinary playpen but a wooden crib, and they even set up a super comfortable mattress and towels. We're truly grateful for this!

I lost a moisturising cream in the room, tried to contact the hotel immediately, but the said they could not find anything but the only place it can be is the room bathroom, so not sure if they really checked it or they save any lost items for the clients.

The location was perfect - the room was spacious and very clean - the breakfast buffet restaurant had a very nice view and the dishes offered were very good - a very good hotel for one night in Tokyo - the luggage storage was very convenient - the hotel offered us an upgrade for the room.

To get back to Haneda Airport, we took the A line of the metro without needing to change, but I thought I saw that there are shuttle buses for both airports at certain times.

Convenient Airport Limousine bus service at 1400 yen, recommend you book your two round trip tickets at the airport terminal otherwise your return ticket will need to be booked online.

The hotel is in a great location, very close to Senso-ji Temple, and the subway station is nearby. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets around the hotel.

We mapped out all the things we wanted to do in Tokyo, and then chose a hotel in proximity to the largest cluster, with convenient train access.

It was great to have both Senso-ji Temple and the Tokyo Skytree right in front of me, along with the descriptions right there as well.

I felt it would be difficult to go out late at night when I was with just the girls, so that was quite disappointing.

The central location to the subway & many of Asasuka’s best spots to visit made this the perfect place for us to stay!

The location within walking distance to the highlights of Asakusa (temple and the entire interesting area around it) is really great.

There was a lot to do in the area but there was a bit of a sewage smell while wandering.

Location is good with lots of shopping malls around and near to the Asakusa Sensoji Temple and the shopping street.

A few months ago, I stayed on the Skytree side for work, and the night view was very beautiful.

It made getting around Tokyo incredibly convenient while allowing us to experience a different part of the city.

Just across the street is the maze of streets around Hoppy Street and the magnificent Sensō-ji Temple complex.

Very enjoyable stay in Asakusa, really good area, fairly central and close to the Sensoji temple complex.

Close to train stations and bus stops, to the skytree tower, sensouji temple and other tourist attractions.

This is a really excellent hotel which is perfectly situated a few mins walk from Asakusa station.

It is very well located in Asakusa, steps from the Senso-ji temple and its lively neighborhood.

The hotel is located in an older section of Tokyo with easy access to public transportation.

Great location walking distance to Asakusa Temple, Skytree Tower, shops and restaurants and public transportation.

The Tokyo train signs are easy to ready and follow for first time train/subway users.

The view of the Tokyo Skytree is superb, and the crisis management was perfect.

In Shinjuku or Shibuya, there are many people even at night, so it was okay to walk alone even late at night, but here the surroundings get dark with all the lights off around 9 or 10 PM, so it's a bit scary to walk aloneㅠㅠ

Save your money and get a better room at a cheaper hotel - with the $100-150 you will save you can take your entire family up the skytree for a better view and have money leftover not have to stay in this crappy hotel.

The street that the hotel is located on could be seen as not family friendly of a night time due to the multiple gentleman’s clubs but as long as you cross over the road and head towards the temple area, it’s fine.

Location: the hotel is 1.1 km from the Asakusa station accessible by several lines included in the tourist pass (and coming from Narita); the one at the foot of the hotel has the same name but is on an uninteresting line.

The hotel is located in the center of Asakusa, with a great geographical location, and there is a large supermarket and drugstore next door for shopping. Asakusa Temple, Don Quijote, and large department stores are all within a 10-minute walk.

However, when I asked for corn soup with one hand, Mr. Tanaka quickly came over to serve it. At checkout, when I mentioned the bathroom issue, the female staff member at the front desk took responsibility and sincerely apologized for not being able to confirm it correctly at the hotel. Although I couldn't catch her name, I appreciate her response.

The staff helped us with reservations for dinner, cloak room to store our baggage after our stay between our day and getting a taxi to the airport, and wished us farewell on our journey home with a sweet message.

The man at the bar did not seem very happy that we were going to have dinner because the restaurant was rather empty and he looked like he wanted to go home.

This was not their responsibility but mine but from the moment they saw me talking to Japan Post very worried, they stepped in, and sorted everything out.

The staff were exceptional – so attentive and kind, even leaving a handwritten note after helping with our bags, which was a really thoughtful touch.

In advance I asked for help booking a restaurant, but the hotel said they did not offer a concierge service to their regular guests.

The staff make an effort to assist with everything, even with language barriers, they try to communicate to solve problems for the guests

The check-in staff took time a lot to clear the different bookings in each period while we feel very exhausted.

The key issue is that the room is so small that it's difficult for two people to walk around.

The hotel staff are very friendly, they helped us with shipping our luggage to the hotel in Kyoto.

We were always greeted with a smile and anything we asked for we received help and kindness.

The foyer is expansive, reception is manned by several staff members with limited English.

I was very happy to receive a hand card introducing his favorite restaurant.

The staff has tried to communicate but language is still a big challenge.

There are some members of the team (reception for instance) who are nice.

They quickly judged me by skin color, this made me very uncomfortable.

The staff is extremely kind and knowledgeable; I highly recommend it.

Staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome.

The concierge team helped me tremendously in booking some activities.

I booked a standard twin room, more than twenty square meters, without a view of the Skytree. He switched the concept and told me he had given me a Skytree view room, but did not inform me that the window was small, only 2*2, a square, and looking out to the left is a thick wall.

The staff was very agreable and although the hotel was very inflexible about early or late check in/out there is a really useful luggage locking room they allowed me to use up to very late the night I was leaving as my flight was at midnight and my check out at 12 noon.

Staff wasted time with constant bowing and holding open entrance doors (automatic doors!) and elevators, while the staff responsible for cleaning the rooms was too few and slow: by 4:00 PM the rooms were still not cleaned, and the corridors were filled with dirty sheets, like in a disorganized bazaar (see photo).

There are Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk, but when guests need Chinese services, the staff members asked mostly do not proactively suggest that a Chinese-speaking staff member take over, simply responding with 'no Chinese' and waiting for the guests to continue communicating in English or Japanese. This needs improvement.

Hotel concierge staff was also unable to assist us with making dinner reservations at a local restaurant (they said that they don't make reservations for off property locations), and two different hotel staff gave us differing information on the Airport Limo Bus travel times to Haneda (only one was correct).

The url they give you to confirm whether they’ll even let you in to breakfast said "We are unable to accept any additional guests at the moment" - that was the message from 7am - 9am (last entry is 930am) but when i went up to check at 915am it was practically empty so that was really frustrating.

For those who do not like to wake up early for the hotel breakfast, it is very convenient; you can sleep in a bit later, take the elevator down to the first floor to buy delicious bread and snacks, then take them back to the hotel to eat while enjoying the beautiful view.

The breakfast enjoyed the next morning in the 26th-floor sky restaurant featured a variety of exquisite and delicious dishes. The best part was being able to enjoy the food while admiring the view of Asakusa City and the magnificent Tokyo Skytree, making for a top-notch visual and culinary experience.

Even though the property agreed to upgrade the room for us and offered free breakfast in the end (after receiving email from booking.com to confirm the issue), we still felt very frustrated by how the property dealt with it.

For breakfast, we had to wait half an hour in line (at 8 o'clock) to get in, which disrupted our daily schedule; yet there were quite a few seats available

It was a pretty big spread with a lot of options and they are open till 10 am which is great when you are jet lagged.

For the next eight days, he greeted us every morning with a smile and prepared her specific omelet without her even having to ask.

Also, I think it's an issue with the reservation site, but it was easy to mistakenly interpret the reservation details as including breakfast.

We enjoyed the buffet dining with many traditional Japanese dishes to try, including tempura, sushi, appetizers, and western dishes as well.

What we liked most about the hotel was the breakfast and the great view over the city while having breakfast.

No prior notice that breakfast is only served until 10 AM, we only had half an hour to eat.

Long queues and crowding in the breakfast room (perhaps it would be better to extend breakfast hours, indeed).

The breakfasts are plentiful, the selection is very large, delicious, although a little more salt is needed ;)

The cooked western breakfast items were also cold by the time you got them to the table.

The breakfast was fantastic and there was actually quite a bit to eat, even for a Westerner.

Breakfast is until 9:30 , so for Europeans might be difficult during the first days.

I didn't like the buffet breakfast at all, it was crowded and too Asian.

Breakfast didn’t start until 7am and we were leaving hotel at 7am for airport.

I will definitely book this hotel next time to experience this breakfast again.

It was a slightly chilly day. Even though I had turned on the heating, I was told that the air conditioning for the entire building operates automatically, so when I switched it on after the warmth of the day, it turned to cooling, and I became very cold.

The dining and bar facilities were either closed earlier than we expected or would not accept us because they were full - The Ice Bar - at about 2100 hrs on Saturday night and when we dined on two nights we could not order later than 2000 hrs.

There is a laundry facility in the hotel but it is on the same floor as a 'club' and has very restrictive hours (8 to 10 and then 12 to 2) and the machines do not work well.

The check-in confirmation function seemed outdated, as it took an unexpectedly long time compared to other facilities. There were three staff members, which seemed like a waste of resources.

The bath drainage was poor, and when I drained the water, water came back up the drain and soaked the bath mat, making it unusable.

The establishment features a small bakery on the ground floor open until 7:00 PM and a restaurant on the top floor.

Furthermore, we planned to have a drink in the Sky bar, but it was small and full of drunken gentlemen.

There were fitness facilities but these were only open for ‘club’ members which was not explained when I booked.

The general floors were fine, but the smoking room had dust accumulated on the floor and lacked cleanliness.

There were only two washing machines/dryers so I had to check several times before finding them free.

We wish there was a public bath or an upgraded bathroom with separate tub and shower.

The air conditioning was not adjustable even I changed the setting on control panel.

Compared with our earlier stay the service and the choice was much limited.

Facilities are too old, water pot is broken, and no one change it.

I also appreciate the convenience of smoke room downstairs for hotel guests.

Loved the facility and its staff, and definitely enjoyed my stay.

However, when we went for a swim, we were told it costs 3300 yen per person to use. very expensive and misleading as no one told us it’s an extra cost even when we checked in and asked about the swimming pool hours.

The information was inaccurate, as we found shortly upon arrival that per gym and pool policy, only those with annual memberships can use the facilities (so pretty much only locals had access to these amenities; no foreign guests or tourists allowed)

There were a lot of families in the hotel and restricting access is a great shame, it's also not clear that that's the case - we had packed our swimming costumes and were very much looking forward to the pool.

We had been really looking forward to swimming with the amazing view, only to find out that we had to pay an extra charge of about $25 per person per day, and the pool had very limited hours.

The pool, which is well-highlighted on the booking site as part of the hotel's services, is accessible for a fee of 3300 yen per person per entry, it's unfortunate that hotel guests do not benefit from complimentary access.

The pool, which features in the hotel advertising, is not available to guests without a further payment of around $30,000JPY per day (not sure but I think it was limited to an hour or so a day).

When we arrived we found that children under 13 years old can only use the pool during July and August (and there was a Y3,300 charge per person to use the pool).

Pool (the hotel was chosen for this): 30,000 Y - 20€ - to access every time!!! So we did not go there and it is always empty (visible from our room).

Then on the last attempt, we were told our kids were too young. (7 and 5, so families beware if you are booking this hotel for kids to swim in)

After having a coffee in the lounge we tried again and asked if perhaps we go to the swimming pool while we waited for our room to be ready.

Please note that the pool is paid, the cost of admission for myself and a child is about $40. The pool is clean, they provide towels and caps.

The pool was old, poorly maintained, the windows were dirty (hard to see the view of the city!), it looked like a municipal pool built in the 80s.

Booked mainly because it has a swimming pool but no where does it say on any booking page the pool is an additional charge.

It would have been nice if use of the pool was cheaper, but we did enjoy relaxing in it after the long flight.

Paying €20 per person per day for access to the pool and then €10 for the other days is really very expensive.

The pool operating signs were inconsistent in hrs so we missed on the 3 occasions after reading signs and asking staff.

On the morning of our departure, my husband went to pick up a rental car very early, and we had to check out, but my husband was not allowed to park the car at the front door to load the luggage; instead, he had to go to the parking garage for half an hour to collect the luggage and check out.

There was no information in the form of a guest book in the room in English with practical information about the hotel. and the staff we checked in with could not speak English and therefore we did not receive any information about the hotel unless we asked ourselves!

The check in process overly complicated you check in with a person then you have to get the card by a machine, can't use tap and go have to use actual credit card and can't just charge the credit card on file used to reserve the booking.

Although the hotel was very inflexible about early or late check in/out there is a really useful luggage locking room they allowed me to use up to very late the night I was leaving as my flight was at midnight and my check out at 12 noon.

Checked in at three in the afternoon. The hotel said they would help carry our luggage to the room, but when we returned at eight in the evening, not only was the door 'unlocked', but it was also not even secured with a chain.

Even for that half hour, we had to pay parking fees, namely 1200 yen (7 euros). We don't find that very service-oriented considering we stayed for 2 nights, and we also think the price per night is overrated compared to the quality.

It is proper to charge full to the credit card if the guest fails to turn up. But why the advance charge, giving the guest no chance to pay by cash at the property and no chance to make any changes???

When I checked in, the front desk staff saw that I was traveling alone and asked if it was okay to just have one card to avoid losing one and having to pay for it; I agreed to this plan.

While I was still getting ready before checkout, the cleaning staff suddenly came in, possibly mistaking my room, which was a surprise... They apologized and closed the door, but... I wonder why they made that mistake...

- I was waiting in line for check-in. I'm not sure if the staff at the check-in counter was dealing with paperwork or was off-duty, but there was someone who kept looking down the whole time.

We reached before the check in time since we checked out early from disneyland hotel and we were given a trollery to carry the luggage into to the hotel lobby from the taxi drop off point.

Moreover, on the morning of checkout, we needed to leave the hotel very early and we were not allowed to have anything for breakfast, even though it had been paid for that morning as well.

There was a bit of confusion at the entrance, possibly due to hotel renovations, but the staff waiting at the entrance helped with check-in, so there were no problems.

After a long flight from the U.K. we were very tired and didn't expect to pay extra to be able to check in earlier than 3pm.

There was a need for changes at check-in, but they responded very smoothly and arranged for the two rooms to be on the same floor.

I checked in late at night, but the staff was very attentive, and although I was exhausted, I was able to smile again.

After 1.5 hours standing front of the desk and communicating with the receptionist by an voice translate machine, I gave up.

There are many group tourists, and check-in starts at 3 PM, which leads to delays due to the lines.

Then charged extra for wanting to check in a little earlier even though the rooms were ready.

When it comes to checkout, you suddenly become unimportant to everyone and have to use machines.

When I requested a late check-out (for 1 hour), they said it would cost extra.

Also, I was a little disappointed that early check-in wasn't allowed before the check-in time.

The std checkout until 12 was also really good for a later flight.

(The receptionist who assisted me originally was not present on that day.)

My booking was 4 nights with city view and Non- smoke room.

When we were doing check in.. so many guests running around.

At 3pm we were waiting 60minutes for checking, long checkin queue.

Reception check out was an issue with the night reception.

It took one hour to check us into our room.

He also wouldn’t provide a bill before I paid.

We arrived at 8:35 PM and the first thing they told us was that we were a bit late to order dinner. The man at the bar did not seem very happy that we were going to have dinner because the restaurant was rather empty and he looked like he wanted to go home.

I heard that the prices were high due to the New Year because they put more effort into the meals, but in return, there were no steak dishes and the dessert selection was poor, so it was not worth it at all.

On the day of the visit, they arranged a table where the Skytree was visible in front of us, and all six of us were able to enjoy our meal while watching the colors of the Skytree change.

You paid 3 or 4 times more for a beer than usually and in addition there’s is a cover charge as well, so you easily end up by 40€ for 2 people with just 2 beers.

The service was quite poor, zero interest, the quality of the dinner was nothing special, and to top it off, at 9:22 PM they were giving us the bill without us having asked for it.

I ventured into the lobby lounge one afternoon for a cappuccino and was astonished at the outrageous 1200 yen price (just about everywhere else in town the price is between 550 and 650 yen).

They do use the hotel for weddings so all restaurants may not be available which is a disappointment because we paid quite a bit for the room expecting to have access to those amenities.

We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant on the 27th floor, and since the customers were foreigners, we requested a table where they could see the Tokyo Skytree as well as possible.

It seems that the increase in traditional New Year dishes contributed to this, but there was nothing in the New Year dishes that I wanted to try.

I'd rather not be closer to the other people when I'm having my meals--remember COVID 19? And I belive I 'm also paying for the view.

Limited hours for the restaurants and lounge do not provide a lot of flexibility to eat at the hotel, but the neighborhood offers many alternatives.

The bar charges 2000-3000 JPY if you want to sit by the window (for a better view), I think it is ridiculous and unnecessary.

The buffet restaurant was expensive given the food was cold, and the staff were not as friendly as in the rest of the hotel.

Also, the meat at the restaurant was quite cold and therefore tough, and the melon was not cut properly, making it difficult to eat.

The first floor bar was so much better with the manager Suzuki bending over backwards to make sure we were having a great time!

The one thing I didn’t like was that you had to pay a charge to have a drink in the Sky Bar.

Both restaurants are good, the à la carte one has few dishes but is good and the buffet has variety.

We took the Skyliner from Narita Airport to Ueno, and the hotel is quite a distance from Ueno Station, so we took a taxi, which cost about 1400 yen and took about 10 minutes

The hotel has a Limousine Bus service to the airport that goes to Haneda Airport five times a day, but only three times to Narita Airport, with the last bus being in the afternoon

We hire a private car for airport drop Off but the hotel staff don’t allow the car stop at the drop off , instead we have to drag the luggage to the road side.

The bonus for us is Asakusa View is also one of the location of the airport bus to pick up their pessanger so we can go back to airport right from our hotel.

I inquired at the front desk in advance to purchase tickets for the limousine bus to Narita Airport, but twice I was told to apply directly to the bus company.

I don't know if it's an issue with the bus company or the hotel, but I thought it would be better if it were easier to purchase limousine bus tickets.

The best part: almost the starting point of the 'limousine airport shuttle', you exit the lobby and board the bus if you have a flight to catch.

After an initial processing error during booking, the rate increased by about 5% when I rebooked (might be something unknown to the hotel)

4) Limousine bus for airports stops at the hotel, a convenient alternative to trains and the subway especially in case of heavy luggage

If you don't take the bus from the hotel to the airport, it takes some time to walk to the subway station.

The limousine bus to Narita Airport arrived on time, and we were able to send off the customers safely.

They don't offer a free shuttle to or from the airport so you will need to plan ahead.

We also found that the airport limousine has a pickup spot from this hotel which was very convenient.

There are no restaurants in the vicinity BUT the owner drove us to the restaurants of our choice.

It was very convenient for my 77-year-old mother to move between Ueno and the hotel by taxi.

The station right next to the hotel is the railway station so we haven't used it much.

Another plus is the bus stop to the airport right at the entrance to the hotel.

It was convenient that I could access the Tsukuba Express by going underground from the hotel.

We took the Access train which was what the info counter at Narita advised.

I highly recommend the Airport transfer if you have to flight from Haneda.

The information was inaccurate, as we found shortly upon arrival that per gym and pool policy, only those with annual memberships can use the facilities (so pretty much only locals had access to these amenities; no foreign guests or tourists allowed)

The only downside was that the gym and swimming pool on the fourth floor were under internal repairs until the end of February, so I couldn't use them.

A bit annoying that you don't have access to fitness - especially when you have jet lag and wake up very early.

For a hotel of this size in a city like Tokyo I was disappointed not to be able to use the gym.

To pay extra to use the pool and gym was a rort and should have been up front when we booked.

The gym and pool cannot be used unless you are a club member, not even for an extra fee.

4 machines, no towels, no water, and the air conditioning was not adjustable, it was really hot.

The gym is in another building and kind of ridiculous, don't count on much of a workout.
