Upper House Hong Kong

We've just had another wonderful stay at The Upper House - it's such an exceptional experience that stands out because of the incredibly personalised service.

The entire place is well maintained and surprisingly quiet,

Much better value than the St Regis in HK and the rooms are larger.

this is a very nicely designed hotel but with, IMHO, some flaws

what really sets the Upper House apart is its superb staff and attention to detail.

They seemed to anticipate our every need and always went 'above and beyond' to make sure that our time there was special.

After that, Sharon remembered what made us feel good after a long day: hot ginger tea brought to our room each day.

the upper house team is very fast in communicating guests requests (flower set up, cakes, restaurant bookings, etc) as if you have your own personal butler =)

The shower and tub may have the best city view ever.

The rooms are spacious and luxurious, they feel more like an ultra-high-end apartment than a hotel.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable—honestly one of the best I’ve ever experienced—which made it incredibly easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep.

Our room’s sweeping harbour view was breathtaking, especially at sunset when the city became a glittering jewel box.

The location couldn’t be more convenient—perched above Pacific Place in Admiralty with easy access to the MTR, shops, and restaurants—yet the atmosphere felt completely serene, like a private retreat in the clouds.

At the very heart of Hong Kong Island — right above Pacific Place shopping mall, with direct access to the MTR and numerous bus routes.

Location is excellent - you're tucked away near the Admiralty metro stop and abutting the Pacific Mall - makes for a nice walk through Hong Kong Park to get to Central and just steps away from yummy eateries in Wan Chai.

If there's any downside, it's that the hotel is quite buzzy with many events open to the public and the guest floors are pretty much accessible to anyone.

There aren’t too many facilities (e.g. swimming pool) but then again, I wasn’t looking to use one.

The outdoor garden is a hidden gem — a pocket of green in the middle of Hong Kong’s skyline.

With over ten collaborators offering everything from sauna and cold plunges, conscious therapy, and chiropractic care, to reiki, gemstone healing, and even make-up services, there’s something for every kind of restoration and renewal.

The absence of a normal hotel foyer is off putting. Then the long dark escalator which takes you to the seventh floor is not the most welcoming beginning to your stay.

The bar and restaurant are wonderful highlights — vibrant in the evening for a drink, and equally enjoyable in the morning for breakfast with stunning views.

Service in the restaurant and bar was excellent, and breakfast offered a wide variety of choices.

The salt-baked sea bass and pineapple tarte tartine at Salisterra are delicious!

A quick call to the room service team and food was promptly served to our suite in under 30 minutes.

Breakfast at The Salisterra on the 49th floor was outstanding, the menu varied for all tastes and the food excellent.

Breakfast (and in particular, the Japanese and Chinese breakfast sets) is one of the parts of the House which I always look forward to whenever I stay; the quality of the food and the generous portions all speak for themselves!

The à-la-carte only breakfast in the beautiful Salisterra restaurant on the 49th floor excelled, at an even higher rate as during earlier stays.

There is no huge variety, but the quality of food and the relaxed atmosphere are very enjoyable, especially compared to other hotel breakfast settings.

we had a personalised and effortless check in with the wonderful Edward Tang, who met us as we came out of the taxi and whisked us straight up to our suite.

check-in is done right in your room, so you don’t have to wait in a busy lobby.

This includes the possibility of extremely early check-in upon arrival and check-outs after 8 pm on both departure days.

No record on reservations even with confirmation number.
