Guest reviews
We analysed 4,986 reviews and found 1,483 containing specific, useful feedback about Capri by Fraser China Square, Singapore. The feedback is organised by topic so you can quickly see what guests say about the property.
Location: What guests say
1,135 relevant reviewsGuests repeatedly praise the central Chinatown location, with the MRT nearby and convenient access to restaurants, cafés, shops, and hawker centres. Many attractions are walkable, including Boat Quay and Clarke Quay in about 10 minutes and Merlion Park in about 15; Marina Bay is also accessible on foot or by metro. Some note it is away from Orchard Road.
See the evidence
The location is great, very close to the Chinatown MRT station, conveniently located near major attractions, and near Maxwell and Lau Pa Sat hawker centers.
Boat Quay and Clark Quay are about 10 mins walk, Merlion Park is about 15 mins walk and Marina Bay Sands complex and Garden by the Bay were within 30 mins on foot.
Within a walking distance, max 10 mins, of the 3 main food courts (Maxwell, Lau Pa Sat, Amoy), and conveniently accessible by metro to Marina Bay or even Little India.
Of course it is a bit away from the traditional shopping area on Orchard road, but we actually prefer the quietness here.See all reviews about location
Rooms: What guests say
951 relevant reviewsGuests most often describe rooms as clean, spacious, quiet, and equipped with very comfortable beds. Kitchenettes, basic cookware, and filtered drinking water are useful touches. Some report hair or unclean utensils despite otherwise positive cleanliness feedback. Bathroom layouts can offer little privacy because of glass partitions, and room size and bed arrangements sometimes disappoint; one family was charged extra for a futon.
See the evidence
The room is spacious, clean, with a kitchenette, tea, filtered water...
Very clean and spacious rooms with amazingly comfy beds.
Glass design of the shower and toilet gives almost zero privacy in the room.
The shower had some hair from the previous guest in it and wasn't cleaned properly.See all reviews about rooms
Staff: What guests say
740 relevant reviewsStaff are repeatedly praised as friendly, welcoming, and helpful, with concierge member Subra singled out for exceptional, attentive service. Guests also commend housekeeping, efficient assistance, and flexibility with early check-in and late check-out. A smaller number report cold or unhelpful service, particularly at reception, with one describing being passed between staff late at night.
See the evidence
The Concierge was particularly obliging and helpful, we could not have asked for more. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff.
He was absolutely amazing throughout my stay—always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with anything I needed.
On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and accommodated us with both an early check-in and a late check-out, which we really appreciated.
Hotel staff wasn’t helpful, so wasn’t the customer service—both sending me to one another back and forth in the middle of the night.See all reviews about staff
Overall: What guests say
465 relevant reviewsGuests most often praise the central Chinatown location, clean and modern comfortable rooms, and friendly, attentive service. The hotel is described as quiet, with useful facilities including a pool and gym, and many say they would return. A few reviews call it overpriced or lacking atmosphere; one flags a mismatch between its advertised five-star rating and a four-star experience.
See the evidence
The hotel is well located and allows for sightseeing on foot.
The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with excellent facilities that made my stay enjoyable.
The staff is welcoming and attentive.
The problem is Booking is labeling it as a 5 star which creates expectations mismatch.See all reviews about overall
Pool: What guests say
509 relevant reviewsThe rooftop pool, usually described as being on the 16th floor, is a frequent highlight for its city views and welcome relief from the heat. Guests appreciated using it after checkout. Recurring drawbacks include too few loungers and umbrellas; some reported dirty water, slippery surroundings, or limited opening hours.
See the evidence
The pool on the 16th floor is stunning
The pool area was really good and an extra plus was that we could use it after check-out as well since our flight was late in the evening.
There are very few loungers by the pool
Surroundings of the pool very, very slippery, which caused my wife to fall badly with cascading consequences on the day we were scheduled to leave.See all reviews about pool
Breakfast: What guests say
407 relevant reviewsBreakfast reviews are mixed: many praise the plentiful, varied mix of local and Western dishes, with made-to-order eggs and noodles, while others find it average or limited for the price. Common complaints include expensive add-ons, cold food, and the buffet being cleared or depleted before the stated 10:30 finish; nearby cafés offer alternatives.
See the evidence
Very good breakfast (express omelette and noodle station that changes every day) but we had higher expectations in terms of variety
The buffet breakfast cost $90 for two people... an outrageous price.
The breakfast buffet, although offered until 10:30, starts to be taken down at 9:50. The selection was already severely limited after 9:50, nothing was refilled even though many new guests arrived.
Although the breakfast was varied generally the food was on the cold side.See all reviews about breakfast
Facilities: What guests say
364 relevant reviewsGuests often praised the rooftop pool, gym, and convenient guest laundry, with in-room kitchens and filtered-water taps also appreciated. The pool has few loungers and umbrellas. A recurring drawback is the lack of comfortable lobby or communal seating; some guests valued being able to shower after checkout, while lounge hours and refreshments drew complaints.
See the evidence
Few sunbeds by the pool due to the space, and only two umbrellas for the heat of Singapore is too few.
hotel has a washer/dryer on the upper floor with a gym and games to play while waiting for laundry!
There are no common areas or seating options in the hotel.
We appreciated being able to leave our luggage at the concierge and having the option to shower with towels provided by the hotel.See all reviews about facilities
Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
238 relevant reviewsThe most appreciated perk is access to showers and changing facilities after checkout, especially for late flights; luggage storage is also available. Check-in experiences vary: some guests report smooth service and early or late checkout, while others describe slow, confusing procedures, unclear wayfinding, and limited flexibility. Surprise deposits and delayed refunds are also reported.
See the evidence
We especially appreciated the free shower and changing facilities provided after check-out, which is a lifesaver for late flights.
The check-in and check-out procedures were far too cumbersome and took a very long time.
The €100 deposit came as a complete surprise to us; I hadn’t read about it anywhere.
A security deposit of 150 dollars is required only by credit card, and this block is not easy at all because the release is not immediate, taking from 5 to 8 working days.See all reviews about check-in / check-out
Gym: What guests say
117 relevant reviewsThe rooftop gym, often paired with a pool and city views, is frequently praised as clean, modern, and convenient. Equipment feedback is mixed: some find it well-equipped, while others report limited or poor strength-training options and cramped space. Opening hours also vary in reviews, with some describing 24-hour access and others saying it closes at 10 p.m.
See the evidence
The gym and the rooftop swimming pool were absolutely outstanding.
The gym facilities were terrible - felt very cramped with 4 people and no strength machines.
The gym is well-equipped and open 24/7.
They were closed already at 10pm every night so we had to hurry back to the hotel to have our gym session and night swim :) We wished it could be kept open a bit longer, until midnight.See all reviews about gym
Restaurant: What guests say
40 relevant reviewsRestaurant experiences were mixed: several guests praised tasty or excellent food, including Japanese cuisine and Moss Cross, but reviews more often describe average quality, high prices, and limited breakfast or lounge offerings. Specific complaints included a cold lamb chop meal, a long wait without service, and early restaurant closures; nearby dining options were plentiful.
See the evidence
110+ dollars for salad and burger, but no quality, the fast-food in the mall below was better. The salad had NO dressing at all.
I ordered a lamb chop dish which had roast veges which were cold.
let down by the restaurant ordered our food still waiting after 40 minutes and others being fed that arrived after us. Gave up and left. Not good service at all
Moss Cross restaurant is fantastic for breakfast and dinner.See all reviews about restaurant
Transport: What guests say
25 relevant reviewsThe hotel is very convenient for public transport, with Chinatown MRT reportedly just two minutes away and connections to attractions across Singapore. Guests also found Grab and taxis easy to use, often with concierge help. Some reported difficulty finding taxis, confusing pickup arrangements, or an unnecessarily expensive pre-booked limousine transfer.
See the evidence
It's very accessible to get anywhere by subway as it's very close to exit F of the MRT China Town station.
Close to MRT, although we used local taxis, which were organised by the friendly concierge, daily.
On booking the taxi that was pre booked 2 days prior the cost of the trip was ridiculous as it was a limousine car which was not necessary.
We had some trouble finding a taxi, but the staff resolved the issue quickly.See all reviews about transport
