Carlton Hotel Singapore

Spacious room with a very large bathroom.

My room (2001) had a fantastic view and I can’t fault the Hotel and their professionalism.

Room noise isolation is TERRIBLE. Neighbors booked 2 rooms beside and across our room, and were constantly opening and closing their doors, walking and talking across the corridor which were extremely noisy and disruptive for our rest for 2 entire mornings.

The aircon would start blowing when the temperature changes, so it made a bit of noise all night.

A very short stroll to the MRT and the Raffles City Shopping Centre which you can walk through in aircon to get to MRT.

The Carlton Hotel is centrally located, across the road from Raffles, a short walk to Marina Bay Sands and many other tourist attractions, as well as public transport, Chijmes restaurants & shops.

The location is excellent, with major malls and MRT stations within walking distance.

The entrance is a little bit tricky especially coming from North Bridge Road. A direction signage pointing to the entrance might be helpful especially to those visitors coming on a public transport.

extremely courteous staff (for example, they prepared a take-away breakfast for us because we had an early morning flight, without us even asking).

ALL requests were dealt with promptly and with the utmost courtesy.

Locked myself out of the connecting rooms at 1AM and they also supported in minutes.

When I asked about checking out at 10 PM and offered to pay for an extra half-day, he just repeatedly quoted the policy stating that a half-day checkout is only until 6 PM, offering zero flexibility or helpful solutions.

The name and ranking suggested a much superior experience. Unfortunately, the reality was disappointing for the price paid: the sofas were worn out, several amenities seemed outdated, and the overall furniture clearly lacked maintenance.

We were a little disappointed that we were not advised of the renovations, not that it affected our stay.

Modern, comfortable, wonderful staff, excellent breakfasts, great gym and pool.

The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of both local and Western dishes, and I found it to be very delicious and a good value for money.

The breakfast is exceptional, with hot food from various areas of the world and even an egg/omelette station where they prepare eggs to order.

The breakfast was poorly managed, too many people and a lot of noise. Poor coordination between the cooks and waiters, and they ran out of stock.

Not very accommodating for people with dietary needs.

The facilities were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.

The facilities were top-notch: the pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and the gym was huge and extremely well equipped.

Most concerning: Repair/renovation work between 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM was very loud and without warning.

The reception area was quite chaotic, with airline crew, people hanging around, and lots of luggage piled near the front desk.

Check-in was very fast and efficient.

Our rooms were not ready until 9pm; we were exhausted after a long flight, so that was pretty inconvenient for us.

The staff was extremely strict and would not allow us to check in any earlier than 3 o'clock even though it was not busy and they could have if they wanted to.

They let us use a shower after checkout, so we didn't have to use the airport lounge. The shower room was clean and there were towels available.

Was at Cafe Mosaic for the Hongkong kitchen buffet, food is good, value for money.

Food was good eg steamed fish, fresh prawns & prawns in veggies but meats viz roast duck, pork ribs and soya sauce chicken quite tough and a bit chewy and not up to HK-style standard.

The restaurant in the hotel is very good value, with good food.

Tuxedo bar- not very conducive for a slightly bigger group- other wise it is just perfect for a single or couple to have a pre drink.

We were only disappointed that the pool closed at 7pm preventing us from relaxing by the pool after dinner or after a long day out and about.

The pool, which I generally judge a hotel on, was so crowded I only went once. It was like a crèche!

The swimming pool area was exceptionally clean and had fantastic quiet areas to sit beside the gym area.

It’s not your typical hotel fitness room—it’s a genuine, professional-grade gym. There’s a powerlifting platform, squat rack, a wide selection of kettlebells and dumbbells (up to 50 kg!), and even a tire for functional training.

The gym is well equipped but quickly gets crowded after 4 or 5 people in the weightlifting area.

Even though gym timing is from 7am till 7pm it was accessible 24hrs and for the first visit it will be confusing as the direct way from hotel floor to gym will be closed with no clear guideline on where the alternate lift is.

Doorman was always on hand to get us a taxi when we needed one so there was absolutely no stress in getting around at any time.

We had to be careful of cars driving pass by and there is no pave way for my luggage.

We were given the impression it wouldn't take long, but in the end we waited for approx. 40 minutes and it was a real rush at the airport.
