A Vertical City Hotel Built Around the Skyline

Upper-floor separation from the city
The hotel is conceived as an elevated city base in Makati, using a high-rise layout to separate guest accommodation and leisure spaces from street-level traffic. Rooms occupy the 10th through 25th floors, while the rooftop concentrates the property's principal view-driven facilities.
A rooftop-led common-area design
The most distinctive architectural feature is the rooftop leisure deck, where the pool, hot tub, dining venues and terrace seating are brought together around panoramic city views. The wider public areas include a lobby, restaurant spaces and event venues rather than resort-style grounds.
High-Rise Accommodation with City-View Options

Rooms across the mid-to-upper floors
Guest accommodation is located from the 10th to the 25th floor within a 311-room inventory. The elevated placement supports the hotel's urban skyline identity, with city views confirmed for some room categories.
Rooftop International Dining and Chinese Cuisine

Firefly Roofdeck and Spice Cafe
Firefly Roofdeck is the rooftop dining venue, serving international cuisine alongside city views and a bar or lounge function. Spice Cafe provides the second restaurant, with Chinese dishes. Together, the venues cover breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
Buffet mornings and poolside views
Buffet breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with separate adult and child pricing. The wider dining programme includes pool views and poolside dining, while limited-hours room service provides an additional in-room option.
A Rooftop Pool Deck Above Makati

Outdoor swimming with panoramic city views
The outdoor rooftop pool sits within the upper-level recreation zone beside rooftop dining and lounge seating. Listings consistently describe the pool as a city-view facility, making the deck the hotel's central outdoor leisure setting.
Extended daily water access
The pool is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. A hot tub or jacuzzi is positioned within the same rooftop leisure area, alongside terrace spaces designed for daytime and evening use.
La Famosa Spa, Fitness and Flexible Event Spaces

Massage and spa packages on site
La Famosa Wellness Spa provides massage, full-body massage and spa wellness packages. Its facilities sit within a broader leisure offer that includes the rooftop hot tub and pool, allowing spa treatments and rooftop downtime to be combined.
Dedicated fitness provision
A fitness centre is available on site, adding an indoor exercise option to the rooftop water facilities and spa services.
Corporate and social event support
The hotel's meetings and celebrations programme supports seminars, conferences and social events. Three meeting rooms are identified in listings, while the conference programme includes boardroom configurations and direct banquet and sales contacts.
At the Centre of Makati’s Business and Nightlife District

A dense mixed-use city setting
The hotel is located in Makati, a major Metro Manila district known for finance, business, dining, hotels and nightlife. Its position near Makati Avenue and Kalayaan Avenue places it within a dense high-rise environment of offices, restaurants, bars and city attractions.
Office towers, shopping and evening venues nearby
The surrounding district is oriented toward business travellers and city visitors rather than resort tourism, with practical access to commercial areas, office towers, shopping, dining and nightlife. The urban setting directly complements the hotel's rooftop city-view concept.

Guest reviews
We analysed 6,463 reviews and found 1,590 containing specific, useful feedback about City Garden Grand Hotel. The feedback is organised by topic so you can quickly see what guests say about the property.
Rooms: What guests say
974 relevant reviewsRooms are repeatedly praised as spacious, clean, and comfortable, with large bathrooms, high-quality bedding, and occasional free upgrades. Some offer impressive city views, but views vary and standard rooms may lack daylight. Recurring drawbacks include traffic and neighboring-room noise from poor soundproofing; some guests also reported dated decor, tobacco odors, or inconsistent room quality.
See the evidence
The aspect I appreciated the least was definitely the poor soundproofing of the room. Mine faced the street and the traffic noise was very intense, making it difficult to fall asleep.
The standard rooms are described as ‘no view’. This does not accurately describe the situation; also no daylight and inability to tell what the weather is.
The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The room is large and well-kept.
They put us in a non-smoking room, but it used to be a smoking room and smelled a lot like tobacco.See all reviews about rooms
Staff: What guests say
976 relevant reviewsStaff are repeatedly praised as friendly, welcoming, attentive, and helpful, with front desk, concierge, restaurant, bar, housekeeping, and security teams all receiving specific compliments. Guests mention quick check-in and practical help with luggage, transport, and requests. A few reports cite missed follow-up, repeated requests for assistance, noise, and perceived unequal treatment.
See the evidence
Whether it was providing umbrellas, assisting with luggage, arranging transportation, contacting a Grab driver, or even helping guests cross through busy traffic, nothing seemed too much to ask.
All the staff were incredibly friendly (Athena at the reception was very helpful in every way and extremely courteous).
I was informed that the hotel was fully booked, but I never received any follow-up or updates. We also had to ask several times for assistance in setting up the Roku TV.
the staff is more attentive to foreign guests than treating their all guests fairlySee all reviews about staff
Overall: What guests say
532 relevant reviewsGuests repeatedly praise the hotel’s value, cleanliness, modern and comfortable rooms, and helpful staff; many say they would return. Food and rooftop dining also receive positive mentions. A recurring drawback is congestion: the rooftop restaurant draws public visitors who share the elevators, causing long waits, while the lobby can feel crowded.
See the evidence
The structure is modern, very clean and the rooms are equipped with every comfort.
didnt like the long wait for the elevators due to over use from roof top restraunt.
staff was great Rex, Paul and the other bell man were super kind and helpful!!
This was our third time, and we will definitely come back.See all reviews about overall
Location: What guests say
810 relevant reviewsThe hotel is centrally located in Makati, with restaurants, shops, malls and nightlife within walking distance, and the airport a short ride away. However, its proximity to the red-light and club districts means frequent escorts in the lobby and some guests feeling unsafe, especially with family; traffic and noise are also recurring concerns.
See the evidence
Centrally located in Makati, many restaurants and shops within walking distance
Location close to the red-light district; being the weekend, it was a constant parade of ladies in the elevator and hotel lobby, it felt more like a brothel than a hotel.
I did not always feel completely comfortable in the neighborhood at night.
There was quite a bit of traffic noise later at night and early in the morning.See all reviews about location
Facilities: What guests say
505 relevant reviewsThe hotel is repeatedly praised for being clean and modern, with comfortable rooms and appealing facilities, especially the rooftop pool, bar, restaurant, and city views. The standout recurring drawback is the three slow, often crowded elevators serving 32 floors, with waits of 5–15 minutes reported. The rooftop can also become crowded and noisy.
See the evidence
There are only 3 elevators to services 32 floors, which meant waits up to 10 minutes at times.
There is usually a huge line of people waiting for the elevator on each floor, and you need to leave 10 minutes earlier just because of the waiting time.
Amazing rooftop on the 32nd floor, infinity pool, jacuzzi, and a restaurant where we had a wonderful dinner at a really reasonable price.
We were able to store our luggage and use the pool facilities and showers so we could enjoy our last day.See all reviews about facilities
Breakfast: What guests say
494 relevant reviewsBreakfast is repeatedly praised for its exceptionally large, varied buffet, with Western, local Filipino, and other international dishes, plus fresh juices, coffee, and made-to-order eggs or pho. Some guests found it crowded and chaotic; others reported bland or low-quality food, dishes that were not warm, or long waits for eggs.
See the evidence
The breakfast buffet was amazing with a wide choice of savory, sweet, Western, and Filipino dishes; there was even tandoori chicken!!
The breakfast was also one of the best buffet breakfasts I've ever had with a huge selection of foods, from your classing English breakfast to halal foods and fresh juices.
Breakfast was very chaotic, crowded, and unpleasant.
If there was some thing not good was waiting at breakfast for sunny side up eggs, I waited 20 minutes !!!!See all reviews about breakfast
Restaurant: What guests say
440 relevant reviewsThe 32nd-floor rooftop restaurant and bar is repeatedly praised for spectacular city and sunset views, a lively atmosphere, and often good food and value. It can be busy, so reservations are recommended; guests also report slow service, unavailable menu items, and mixed food quality, with some finding dishes overpriced. Breakfast buffet variety is another positive.
See the evidence
The rooftop restaurant is stunning in the evening.
There was only one the Roof deck restaurant can get very busy so recommend booking as it’s open to none guests too.
Out of two meals we had on site, there were issues with both orders and there was an excessively long wait.
The food on the buffet in spice restaurant is delicious and there is a very big variety to choose from!See all reviews about restaurant
Pool: What guests say
455 relevant reviewsThe rooftop pool is a standout, with skyline views, towels, and a nearby restaurant, bar, and sometimes a hot tub. However, guests repeatedly found it small and crowded, with too few loungers; some also noted cold water or limited shade. Its position beside a busy, publicly accessible rooftop venue can reduce privacy and quiet.
See the evidence
The pool on the rooftop was not huge but big enough for short laps or to watch the sunset over the skyline (they also provide towels up there).
Pool was packed and couldnt get chairs for the 4 days i was there.
the rooftop pool that looked very inviting for a relaxing night swim on the website was actually right at the entrance of the very busy rooftop bar/restaurant with no barrier for a little quiet and privacy.
The pool was so cold I couldn't swim in that..nor could I there.. it was like ice.See all reviews about pool
Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
170 relevant reviewsCheck-in and checkout are often described as smooth, with polite, helpful staff and occasional early check-ins or upgrades. However, several guests report rooms not ready on time, long waits, and poor updates; one wait approached three hours. Late checkout can be expensive or uncertain, while elevator queues and occasional booking or payment confusion add friction.
See the evidence
Check-in took almost three hours, more than an hour later than the usual 2 PM check-in time.
Our room was still not ready even four hours after the scheduled check-in time. We were also not informed when the room was finally ready—we had to return to the lobby ourselves to check.
A late check-out costs a lot of money. (Half of the room rate) It's a shame because we only needed it for 3 hours.
Check-in was so smooth and all questions was answered politely and accurately.See all reviews about check-in / check-out
Transport: What guests say
60 relevant reviewsThe most repeated complaint is long elevator waits: three elevators serve 32 floors, with waits especially noticeable around pool and restaurant visits. Manila traffic can make airport trips slow, and hotel transfers are often described as expensive or requiring several days’ notice; some guests reported failed pickups, while Grab was commonly cheaper and easy to use.
See the evidence
The wait for the elevators can be very long, 32 floors with too few elevators.
The hotel doesn’t actually have one but offers a ridiculously expensive taxi option for 1,300 pesos. Instead use the Grab app and get the same fare for 300 pesos (in rush hour too)!
Did not inform me upon booking I needed 3 days advance notice to book airport shuttle
Traffic during the day is very heavy and it takes longer to get to the airport than expected.See all reviews about transport
Gym: What guests say
75 relevant reviewsGuests most often describe the gym as good, spacious, clean, and sufficiently equipped for a normal workout; some call it especially good for a hotel. Common caveats are limited variety or too few machines, dated equipment needing maintenance, and one report of excessive heat due to no air conditioning. One guest noted no towels.
See the evidence
The gym is well equipped, with clean towels, a water fountain, and a beautiful view of the city.
The gymnasium is roomy with enough equipment for a good workout.
Gym: Limited equipment but adequate for light workouts.
The gym had no air conditioning, so it was very hot.See all reviews about gym
Spa: What guests say
48 relevant reviewsMassages are often described as excellent, relaxing, and reasonably priced, with some guests praising specific therapists and in-room service. However, several report grumpy or inattentive staff and rushed, poorly tailored treatments; post-massage amenities and communication can be lacking. The spa rooms are described as plain, and daytime appointments may be fully booked.
See the evidence
The massages were heavenly, I didn't get their names but I was very relaxed by the end of it all.
The spa it’s self is not very fancy, it has simple rooms but the treatment was worth it and the pricing is very reasonable.
They didn't ask about any injuries or how strong we wanted the massage; they just started right away as if they wanted to get it over with quickly.
No availability of SPA during day-time on arrival and next day, fully booked ==> why advertising this as providing service but not having enough masseuses?See all reviews about spa
Parking: What guests say
19 relevant reviewsParking is often free and valet service is available, with guests praising the attendants. However, the multi-level garage is repeatedly described as steep, narrow, and difficult to maneuver, especially for larger vehicles; some guests advise allowing extra time or taking a taxi. Motorcycle parking may be outside rather than inside.
See the evidence
The parking situation was horrendous there was no signage to direct you how to exit and the parking garage was so steep and narrow.
The ramp going up/down was kind of difficult to navigate but we were fairly warned by the security at the parking entrance.
They drive your car to the underground parking and then bring the car up to the front of the hotel when you leave or need it.
Inside bldg parking is only for a car not for motorcycle said guard on duty.See all reviews about parking
