Reviews overwhelmingly praise the hotel’s attentive staff, clean modern property, convenient Tokyo location near the subway, and high-quality lounge, food, and beverage offerings; many consider club-level access worth the cost. Recurring reservations include inconsistent room standards, aging facilities, poor value, and a prolonged air-conditioning failure handled without sufficient apology.

And yes l have ALL correspondance and if anything comes out of this l expect YOU to now send me the items free of charge or a full financial compensation for the value of said items .
They say it's not how you start, but how you finish — ANA may have had a slightly shaky start, but they absolutely finished strong and gave us a stay we will never forget.
The conference that I need to attend was at this hotel, so it made sense to stay here, as it only takes a couple of minutes to go to my room during breaks.

With a modicum of explanation, the very best of service is to be had: Athens and Rome— eat your heart out— service here is sublime.
We had an amazing stay at ANA InterContinental Tokyo and it became one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.
The guest room was renovated, bright, and comfortable. The bathroom and toilet were separate, making them easier to use.

I would stay here again because it is far away from the crowds in Shinjuku and Shibuya areas.
Disastrous experience - possibly due to the shortage of staff - but no excuse consider the price.
The whole hotel was super clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.

Its stunning, modern, clean, comfortable, the staff are absolutely beautiful people and such hard workers.
The hotel is huge but the club lounge and floors were calm and quiet.
We received amazing service from Rafael and of course from the entire staff.

Amazing hotel to stay for business (and I guess for holidays as well)
Lounge was great as usual and had very good quality of selections.
I keep coming back to this fantastic hotel over and over again.

There was not one thing that you could fault about this hotel.
Overall a positive experience with an overall good value for money.
An unforgettable experience created by a World Class staff in Tokyo.

Large bustling hotel, felt very festive and had a great atmosphere.
Used the afternoons and cocktail once on a 5 nights stay.
The afternoon coffee with strawberries is extremely recommended despite the price!

It is very expensive in terms of value for money.
It definitely raised the bar of 5 stars hotels.
Its a 5 star with all the expected amenities.

We would return to this hotel without any hesitation.
The place has aged a little since then.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel!

Loved the professionalism and diversity of the staff.
Hotel very well located for visiting Tokyo
This is our favorite hotel in Tokyo.

Staff: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG288 relevant reviews
Staff are repeatedly praised as warm, professional, attentive, and proactive, with concierge, lounge, breakfast, and front-desk teams often delivering personalized help and thoughtful gestures. However, some reports cite rude pre-arrival phone handling, slow reception responses, inadequate staffing and long queues during busy lounge periods, and occasional failures to assist waiting guests.

He refused to give me the room that I paid even I provided proof emails and he told me there is nothing they can do about it since on their system showed only classic room.
Rather than a welcoming atmosphere, the overall impression was of staff being overwhelmed, stressed, and operating in silos — as if no one was truly responsible for the guest experience.
Including myself, there were 9 people waiting with 4 staff members attending to them; I understand that one person's service may take time due to their kind response.

They were very friendly and accommodating especially Ms. Yasuyo Shimada who took the time to chat with me and book us reservations for a wonderful dinner.
What stood out most was not only the efficiency and attentiveness of the team, but the grace with which they delivered such thoughtful hospitality.
I called the reception to shift the room, they told me that they will see and solve the issue but no action from them.

But I noticed the mistake and talked to the staff and they fixed although the money still hasn't returned to my bank
Excellent customer service and they even checked us into our room early which was helpful after a long flight with our baby!
The rest of the staff at the ANA Intercontinental are also great with constant smiles and helpful support to all guests.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left we felt welcome and were always engaged by the staff.
They staff worked to ensure everything was adjusted as required and provided specially tailored options to match our needs.
The hospitality, food and beverage quality, and the overall sense of comfort and relaxation made the stay worthwhile.

Very friendly service! Very helpful and everything was very quick and organized, as is typical in Japan!
I want to give a special thank you to the front desk team—especially Lara and Sakurako.
Thanks in particular to Mark and Sarah in the lounge and Fumika who checked us in.

He was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed.
The substandard nature of the experience is not subtle — it is striking and undeniable.
The bell desk tried hard to sell us on the overpriced airport shuttle to Narita.

I really liked the location, the comfort, and the staff's cheerful and helpful efforts.
Staff to guest ratio is probably half that of my last hotel, Peninsula Tokyo.
Ripina was our hostess for an evening and was so nice and helpful!!

The staff are so attentive and professional, a real credit to the hotel.
Our daughter got sick and the concierge made a doctor appointment for us.
Staff are simply welcoming and prompt to assist, excellent services as always.

Great customer service, thank you Youssef for the wonderful experience and support
When we were leaving, we had to pack a few more of our things, they took care to watch our luggages for us and even offered a place to arrange them comfortably (and the staff in the room also brought us a scale to weigh our bags).
And they have an Egyptian Arab employee named Youssef who is one of the best employees I've dealt with. He helped us with many things, and every time he sees us, he asks if we need anything. His demeanor is very classy.

Her passion to serve, introduce me to local experiences, get me grounded on the property with a drink/meal upon entering the club and getting me to my room smoothly were handled in the most professional and capable manner.
We recently stayed at the ANA InterContinental Tokyo and wanted to take a moment to specifically highlight two exceptional members of the Club Level staff — Sarah and Kanan — who truly made our family’s stay unforgettable.
We want to give a particular mention to Yasuyo in the Club Intercontinental who went out of her way to make our time in Tokyo incredibly memorable, booking us a fabulous restaurant and organising a birthday cake.

Rooms: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG276 relevant reviews
Rooms are frequently described as clean, modern, comfortable, and well-appointed, with spacious suites, excellent Tokyo views, and luxurious bathrooms. However, many guests found standard rooms small, especially for families. Recurring concerns include traffic noise, smoke or mold odors, fixed windows, uneven air conditioning, occasional housekeeping omissions, and beds or pillows that were uncomfortable.

The pillows were like rocks, I had a terrible sleep all 3 nights, the room was freezing and we could not adjust the temperature at all and blankets were not sufficient for the temperature in the room.
I booked using points, 45,900 points for the lowest rate, and got upgraded to a 1 king classic high floor Tokyo Tower View room, 30 sqm on the 35th floor.
Carpet in room is a bit dirty, when I moved the bed, a lot of dust , a used mask, and some small stuff underneath the bed.

It was not as large as some suites in other countries- it was a big room basically with no partition, but this is Tokyo!
As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Ambassador, I booked a Classic Room but was upgraded to a 1 King Classic High Floor.
Room was large enough to give each of us space while giving you everything you need in a luxury hotel.

The entry-level room here is neither small nor large, about 28 sqm, which is quite comfortable by Japanese standards.
Bathroom was separated from sink and toilet which was very nice, and used THANN amenities which felt luxurious.
The room was beautiful, modern, and extremely clean, with stunning views of Tokyo Tower and the nearby skyscrapers.

The lounge is very close to the room - almost like an extension of the room itself.
Our room was a modest size but exceptionally appointed and ticked all th boxes for us.
Very good beds to sleep on after an exhausting day of walking and enjoying Tokyo 😁.

Our room on the 28th floor with a view of Tokyo Tower was absolutely spectacular.
We took a large club room with access to the Lounge, it was very comfortable.
I requested a room change, but the new room smelled like a smoking room.

The room was newly renovated, spacious, and tastefully decorated with elegant Japanese touches.
The rooms are on the bigger side compared to other hotels in Tokyo.
Small room, no option to open windows and to have fresh air.

The combination gave me a horrible headache so we asked to switch.
The room is comfortable with a large French bed, cleaned daily.
Took one day for them to move us to another room.

We stayed in a newly renovated king suite with club access.
Room service is also comfortable, and the food is delicious.
We visited for our honeymoon, staying in the Mizu suite.

Bathroom is a little on the small side and dated
We booked a high room and were upgraded to the Club floors for a room with an amazing view of the Tokyo Tower - which we combined with our annual lounge pass to use the Intercontinental Lounge for Aftermoon Tea, Cocktail hour and Canapés (more like a full meal!) and breakfast.
Although booked for 4 adults, the assigned room was basically for 2 persons: the room was almost inaccessible because an emergency bed was placed in front of the entrance door as the 4th bed, and the 3rd bed was placed instead of the sofa without a nightstand and lamp;

We had one of the new suites so all four of us (4yo and 2yo children) could stay in the same room and still have space to walk around, the room was really comfortable and in a quiet corner of the floor.
At check-in, the attendant offered me an "upgrade" because I am an IHG loyalty member. However, it was actually a downgrade as I was given an old room, with curtains in the bathroom, whereas my original reservation was for a renovated room.
I had booked a room on the upper floors to have a view of the city, even if that’s not really the most important thing in a city like Tokyo that only offers concrete as far as the eye can see.

Location: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG236 relevant reviews
The hotel’s strongest advantage is transport: Tameike-Sanno/Ginza Line access is typically 1–3 minutes away, with several subway lines and easy connections to Shibuya, Ginza, Roppongi, and other sights. It sits in a quiet business district with many nearby restaurants, convenience stores, a supermarket, and airport limousine service, though nightlife and shops are limited.

The location is really convenient, there is usually no shortage of taxis (exception: New Years eve and New Years day as well as probably other holidays, but that is to be expected) and the Ginza Line metro Station Tameike-Sanno (No. G-06) is right outside the hotel.
The Ginza line is one of the most important Metro lines (and probably the only one you really need as tourist) as it goes to Shibuya or Ginza as well as to Shimbashi and all the way to Asakusa, with many interchange options in between.
I stayed at the hotel, but the hotel staff didn't know either, and I was handed a map saying "across from the U.S. Embassy" after looking it up online, but there are many similar buildings and it's confusing for someone coming from a rural area.

To get to Tokyo station, it's a bit of a walk through all the platforms in Tameike Sanno station, and the signs were a bit confusing, so I go lost the first day.
It is Kinda far from Ginza Line, we had to walk 500 meters each day to the subway line, in order to get to Shibuya, Shinjuku ect.
The place was in a good localization just right next to the metro station and is close to all the main attractions.

The hotel was in the center of downtown area and Tokyo tower is in the close proximity to the hotel.
Combined with the location close to the lovely Minato and Akasaka areas, the footsteps to the Tokyo Metro system.
However, for first-time visitors looking to explore Tokyo’s main tourist attractions, the location may feel a bit removed.

Clean and bright, location wasn't the best but the underground station was a 2min walk at most.
Only 300 metres to Tokyo Metro lines G and Y which makes getting around to other
Excellent, comfortable stay with plenty of restaurants and well situated to access various areas of.

The police officers in front of the embassy also didn't know of the Koyodokyokai building.
And of course, as expected in Japan, I felt completely safe at all times.
The hotel has access to the convention center, bakery, many restaurants within in.

Located in a quiet area surrounded by offices is not that bad.
Very close to subway station entrance (ginza line) - 5 min walk
Brilliant access to local transport networks to get wherever you need.

At night hookers in the lobby following you in the elevator.
Superb location especially for a first time visit to Tokyo.
There was not much around the area of the hotel.

Perfect location with minutes walk to Toranomon (main business area)
Also has a coin laundry mat across the street.
Centrally located, the ANA IC Tokyo was a revelation!

Location was central and in between two subway stations.
Taxi to Tokyo station is only 10 minutes
Location was great, building was beautiful and well-maintained.

Is also close to the Roppopongi area.
A good hotel in a nice location
Location was ok for getting around.

Breakfast: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG201 relevant reviews
Breakfast is repeatedly praised for its extensive, high-quality Japanese and Western buffet, including sushi, dumplings, eggs, pastries, cheeses, omelettes and gluten-free options; some venues offer Tokyo views from upper floors. Recurring drawbacks include queues, crowded or hectic seating, slow coffee, uncleared plates, weak replenishment and inconsistent food quality.

The buffet is enormous and caters to every taste imaginable: traditional Japanese dishes including dumplings and sushi, classic European favourites such as eggs and bacon, an excellent selection of German cheeses, hams and charcuterie, and wonderful French pastries, croissants and fresh bread.
There was a day it took us over 40mins to wait to get in, and when we sat down almost all breakfast trays were empty and told us they will not refill as it’s time to close.
L36 offers a buffet spread with both Japanese and western food which is a decent spread, but definitely not meant to host the crowd usually hence could feel space a little more tight.

As for the Japanese set breakfast that many people mentioned in past reviews, it has now been changed to self-service at the buffet line — there is no longer a three-tier bento set.
The food quality was consistently good, but during weekends, many of the food items were not refilled properly and we had to wait a long time to get food and drink.
We were never able to go for breakfast as the lines were 30 or 40 people deep, extending all the way to outside, and requiring possibly a good 45 minutes wait.

The Japanese breakfast set was amazing and tea time and cocktail hours were a lot of fun even if just as a one time experience to try them out.
One tip for future guests: be sure to ask your server for the traditional Japanese sweet at the end of breakfast before the last order at 10:00 a.m.
Breakfast at the lobby had finished renovation from the last time I visited, and had many seatings with good spread and also a live noodle station.

High tea was alright with three-tier sweet/savoury bites and a small selection of fruits/biscuits in buffet style and of course with tea/coffee through the extensive menu.
Breakfast can get busy, but the selection is top-notch, and as a family with a young child, we were escorted to a free table.
Waiting time for breakfast is more than 10 minutes every morning as the queue is so long. It could be avoid by using tickets.

For breakfast, I chose to dine at the Club Lounge instead of the main restaurant downstairs, mainly because it’s much less crowded.
"Kids stay free" does not include breakfast for them, even if room was booked with breakfast, was not clear when booking
The club lounge on 35th floor was excellent, great breakfast order and buffet options, with lots of western choices.

Comes along with a good spread of bites to go along with, both Japanese and western style.
Also payed for the breakfast option but did not include the third person our son ??.
If this situation I expected the receptionist should’ve told us when we were lining up.

The breakfast is very busy every morning but very good choice of international food.
This negatively affected the overall dining atmosphere and aesthetic experience during breakfast.
Breakfast buffet was incredible with high-standard and diverse food and dietary options

We enjoyed delicious complimentary breakfasts and cocktail hour with tasty tapas.
Queuing for breakfast .. really ? in a 5 stars hotel
The breakfast was amazing and there were plenty of choices.

It's a breakfast worth looking forward to each morning.
1. Breakfast- allowed on club floor or main restaurant
The breakfast is extensive but at what price?

The baker in the hotel was very good.
At breakfast, the staff is often overwhelmed.
Lounge provides breakfast tea and happy hour.

Facilities: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG116 relevant reviews
Repeated feedback highlights the Club Lounge: spacious, scenic, comfortable, and generous with champagne, cocktails, food, and afternoon tea, though it can be overcrowded, understaffed, untidy, and repetitive across days. The main lobby has virtually no seating, a notable family inconvenience. Facilities are well maintained but somewhat dated; the gym may overcrowd and women’s sauna provision is limited.

The Club Lounge itself (which is where I spent most of my time) is in excellent condition, has a great view of Roppongi, great seating arrangements (tables, high tops and lounge chairs) along with an ample size buffet (the food was excellent).
The property itself is in excellent shape, I had stayed here in the mid 90's for business and although the venue is 40 years old, management has ensured it is well maintained and I found it in 5 star condition.
The hotel shop offers unique and high-quality items, and since Suntory Hall is nearby, staying before or after concert days allows for a leisurely enjoyment of music, enhancing a rich adult holiday experience.

It drove us mad that there was no seating in the main lobby at all, especially when waiting with a 1yr old toddler. There wasn’t even anywhere to lean or perch yourself.
They really need to dust under the bedside tables, not nice if you drop something on the floor and when you go to pick it up its very dusty under there.
The other has proper dining tables and was nearer to the food stations, which is ideal for a quick breakfast when you are not going to spend a long time there.

The lounge facility for families was excellent to have brekky there and afternoon/evening drinks were the icing on the cake, really would love to have stayed longer to enjoy that service
One thing to note, there are restrictions on when children can access the 35th floor lounge, and the alternative 36th floor lounge for families was always closed when we checked.
Maybe a sofa or seating in the reception lobby area would be nice if you are waiting for someone or a taxi to arrive as there is nothing at all.

Even some 3–4 star Hyatt hotels were more expensive than InterContinental, and what makes this stay even more worthwhile is that InterContinental also includes access to the Club Lounge.
The food selection is sufficient to make a proper meal if you want, but for those who enjoy drinks like me, it’s perfect for a long, relaxed evening.
We were able to use the lounge which had first class service , a very good drink and cocktail menu and a wide range of nibbles.

A relaxing experience with Japanese–European sweets and savories such as fruit cakes, mousse, tarts, and wagashi, paired with sencha, black tea, or freshly brewed coffee.
It would be helpful for them to be more clearly marked where you're exiting for those who are not accustomed to the area.
But for someone who likes to drink like me, it's perfect for just hanging out and relaxing for a while.

Afternoon Tea was served at the table this time it was decent, but nothing that really wowed me.
The only way to sit down is to go to the bar with very expensive paid drinks.
Large, traditional, and well-managed product. Lots of pilots at checkout which indicates a good value product.

The lounge bar on floor 36 was also a great place to end the night.
I assume the hotel and related restaurants are short staffed as numerous facilities are closed.
I had the option to access the Club but the price is really discouraging.

It was one of the best lounges we've experienced at an IC hotel.
The lobby lounge is always full and not available for in house guests.
One of the highlights of our visit was the IHG members lounge.

Comfortable, we were able to use many services without any issues.
The structure of the extra bed was disappointing, with exposed casters.
The lounge offers a peaceful atmosphere and spectacular 35th-floor views.

The facilities were amazing, and had well priced eating options.
The lounge facilities were amazing with what is included
Enough elevators so there has been no "elevator" traffic.

Restaurant: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG73 relevant reviews
Dining is a major strength: numerous Japanese, French, Chinese and international venues, excellent food, impressive club-lounge buffets, and restaurants with Tokyo views. Breakfast offers sushi, sashimi and varied Western choices. However, dining is often expensive, buffet dinners can repeat nightly, restaurants fill up, and one outlet stopped service at 9:30 despite a stated 10pm closing.

Their buffet restaurant was a good option in case you just wanted a great bite to eat but just a word of caution that there is basically no variation per dinner, per night, as far as we could tell.
In the room we found the information that on 31.12. evening you can order the noodle dish "toshi koshi soba", which are believed to bring good luck for the new year, for a reasonable price to your room.
Although the Executive Lounge offered a buffet dinner, the chef went the extra mile by preparing a special meal to accommodate my dietary requirements – a thoughtful touch that truly stood out.

The hotel offers an impressive sky bar with spectacular views across Tokyo, along with no fewer than 15 restaurants, each with its own distinct identity, including Japanese, French and Chinese cuisine.
We also dined in the lobby lounge on the day we checked out and the food options from the restaurants that were served there ala carte were also great!
Location, spacious rooms, cleanliness, varied breakfast with quality ingredients, many dining options - several restaurants within the hotel, including one with 2 Michelin stars, spa area - excellent massage.

It is the catastrophic choice of this hotel to force their guests to wear face-diapers in the restaurants - when the rest of Japan has this as optional only.
The top level bar, which has always been a highlight of our stay in Tokyo, was closed, and there was no real alternative for a burger and drinks.
We also ate at Unkai, which had a beautiful garden and pond view, and at Teppanyaki Akasaka with views of Tokyo Tower — both were really good.

Come to Brewers it’s a fantastic experience to have a beverage and conversation… at the ANA Intercontinental Hotel Tokyo the ambiance is wonderful overlooking the beautiful lobby
Once inside, the afternoon tea was a real standout, served in individual towers that felt elegant and special, and it was all included with lounge access.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's special 40th Anniversary eight-course tasting menu at Karin, which was exceptional from start to finish.

The lounge's food were heavenly, with generous variety that felt like a mini dinner buffet (which is already ample if you're not a big eater).
The Teppanyaki Akasaka restaurant is a great moment of culinary and visual discovery, the cherry on top being the view of the illuminated Tokyo Tower.
I had dinner at the French restaurant on the 36th floor, and it was very delicious, with the staff overflowing with the spirit of "omotenashi."

Although pretty expensive, the Teppanyaki restaurant on the 36th floor is definitely worth visiting — great food, great service, and an amazing view.
We even got to order a bottle of wine from the another restaurant at the hotel, that we've tried the evening before.
Sadly our wonderful experience was completely undone after we were charged a very unexpected (and unexplained) $1500 cancellation for a restaurant booking.

While we waited, they even helped us book a last-minute lunch reservation at Nobu, just a 10-15 minute walk away.
I missed lunch so asked if I could have seconds which Ms Renalyn (and the chef) kindly obliged.
We got served by Parry, and chef Ishida, that served us fantastic food with an amazing view.

Prices at the bar and in the restaurant are quite expensive compared to other restaurants nearby!
But given the great quality of the food, it wasn't a deal breaker for us.
The evening buffet for $35 was very good also with plenty to choose from.

We went to one of the restaurants and food was fresh and good.
We had wagyu one night and sirloin the next, both were impressive.
The food options were excellent, the Club Lounge experience was fantastic.

Very good food, the atmosphere and vibe are really good,
Hotel restaurants are much more expensive than the external ones.
The Steakhouse fulfilled these needs in the short term.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG69 relevant reviews
Check-in experiences were mixed: Club Lounge and suite guests often reported smooth, efficient service, upgrades, luggage storage, and occasional early or late checkout. However, long queues and room delays recurred, including waits of 1–2 hours and a 100-person line. Guests also reported missing benefits, room-status discrepancies, rude communication, and key failures.

As an IHG Ambassador member, despite checking in at the dedicated Ambassador counter, I was contacted by the front desk after the usual checkout time of 11 AM, stating that my checkout time had passed, even though it was promised when I became an IHG Ambassador member that a late checkout until 4 PM was permitted.
When I asked, 'I checked in at the Ambassador dedicated counter as an IHG Ambassador member and already provided my account number at that time, which the staff should have confirmed. Do I really need to provide my account number again?' the response was, 'Yes, it's needed again.'
When I mentioned that I checked in as an Ambassador member, I was told, 'If you're going to request a late checkout, you must inform us in advance,' and they also asked for my Ambassador member account details.

He refused to give me the room that I paid even I provided proof emails and he told me there is nothing they can do about it since on their system showed only classic room.
They also put a ¥30,000 charge on your card at check in which I have never experienced before and thought was excessive - you can just hold card details and not charge?
Arrived at the hotel at 8 pm (after 10 hours flight) and they inform me that my room in not ready!! after insisting they gave me a room after 10 minutes ..

We were able to check in at the Club Lounge since we booked a suite, where the staff welcomed us with beverages and held our bags until the room was ready.
Before our arrival, Monina from the hotel team reached out via email and guided us to check in on the club floor—a wonderful surprise that set the tone for our stay.
We went by first to leave the luggages in their care but were told we can do an early check-in which was nice since we travelled from another city.

We arrived at the hotel after being informed that, due to electrical inspection the hotel is closed the day before and can only checkin at 3pm on 9 May.
We were able to store our luggages' with the hotel when we went to Kyoto for a few days, as we were re-staying on our return to Tokyo.
Using the Lounge for check-in took over 30 minutes to receive our room key; I’d recommend checking in at the main Reception, which appeared to be less congested.

Its 11pm and I just get out of a 12 hours flight so I have no choice at that time but to take whatever room he gave me.
It took 1hrs 15 minutes to get the key of the room, considering the hotel was closed last night, don’t tell me the room was not available.
After persistent requests we were given a temporary “disabled” room at 4.30 pm and our original booking with Club lounge access was declined but then reinstated.

At check in they didn’t inform us of free breakfast but a manager Robin was amazing at making sure we were compensated or not charged.
Getting to the hotel quite late and being disappointed with my less than amazing room after booking and paying early as a diamond IHG member
As our suite was not on the club floors, husband wished we didn't have to change lifts to get up to the lounge.

I checked in on the 35th floor at the Club Lounge. The process was smooth and efficient with minimal waiting time.
We were supposed to check out of that room and check into a new room the following day.
Check-in was on the 35th floor, where the club lounge is located; it was smooth and efficient.

We were also not informed at time of check in that our room wouldn’t have a/c.
Not being able to checkin at 5.11pm for paying oeasants like me is not on.
We arrived at 5 PM, and some people did not have their room ready.

I went down to reception, they apologized and prepared a new room key.
A second suitcase was dropped off in advance of our arrival.
As a result the check in process took over 30 mins.

I did not expect the downgrade that occurred at check-in.
After checkin-in it was quickly delivered to our room.
They definitely do not allow check-in before 15:00.

Pool: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG53 relevant reviews
The large, attractive outdoor pool is a major draw, especially for families and hot summer days, with towels, drinks, food, views and a kids’ pool. However, access commonly costs extra (reported around ¥4,800 for four hours), outside day-pass guests can create severe overcrowding and scarce loungers, and the pool is seasonal, closed in winter and sometimes unheated.

The pool was crazy busy as over the weekend so lots of paying outside families, lots of children and noisy, but still good to be able to relax outside at the end of our trip.
In addition, on the first day when we arrived at the hotel and went to the pool, my family and I: my wife + 2 children aged 9 were the only people there.
A reason we chose the ANA was for the pool, it’s not included in the room cost and a couple of hours in the pool for the kids was quite expensive.

Unfortunately what we did not know is that the hotel opens the pool to the public for a fee and it was mostly inundated by people paying for day passes.
We sat in the Premium zone for more privacy, and after a while, an employee came and told us to leave that area and move to the regular zone.
Not much, maybe that guest from outside may enter the pool area for a fee which leads into champagne drinking instagram photo shooting girl groups around the pool.

Charge for using the swimming pool!! :( This is the first 5-star hotel I've stayed at where I had to pay for access to the hotel's outdoor pool.
And then someone walks around ringing a bell telling people their paid session is over and it’s time for the next wave of people to come in!
We still used the pool for a quick dip to cool down but got in and out as quickly as possible because it was pretty unbearable.

A lovely hotel with a highlight being its sizeable pool and kids pool which was really great to escape the intense August heat in Tokyo!
We had limited time so could only go to the pool once which gets pretty busy and the good seats are for premier guests only.
I was told to move it… even though I was only doing lane swimming and there was a handful of people poolside at best.

We booked this hotel mainly due to the pool so we could have some relaxation at the end of a 3 week trip.
I didn’t know the pool was not included in the price. There is a separate fee around 4800yen for a 4 hour period.
I was very unhappy to know that I need to pay extra or taken a different package to access the swimming pool.

It’s the first of the 49 hotels I stayed in with a pool that require guests to pay additional for the pool.
I loved that they had a pool but not thrilled that one would need to pay quite a bit to use it.
The Pool Garden is another wonderful feature—a perfect place to unwind with a cocktail after a busy day exploring Tokyo.

This is a public pool that hotel guests can use if they are savvy enough to find a spare corner.
But the pool was busy as outside customers can come and use it, so we didn't bother using it.
We didn't get a chance to use the pool as it only opened the day before we checked out.

I was aware prior to booking, appreciated having the pool, nevertheless price for hotel guests was questionable.
Plus as it was unheated probably would have been a bit chilly in early June!
Another two occasions (when again lane swimming) I kept bumping into the inflatables.

There were no sun lounges available for almost the whole day.
I repeat, we were the only people at the pool.
The pool was so fun for our kids too!

Rooms are nice and the pool is great.
Hardly a recipe for a relaxing environment.
I was disturbed by this employee's overzealousness.

Transport: What guests say
View ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG22 relevant reviews
Transport is a major convenience: the hotel is close to subway, buses, taxis, and highway access, with taxis usually waiting outside. Narita limousine buses and airport shuttle services are especially useful. Downsides include no Haneda shuttle, occasional airport-transfer booking errors, one failed taxi reservation, and long underground or station walks.

The hotel helped us book a fast bus back to Narita airport - if in no rush, then this is a good way to go back- far cheaper than the taxi we took to get to the hotel on arrival!
Best part was at the hotel door steps was a bus that takes you straight to Narita Airport (with one or two stops in between) - no need to carry luggage or take taxi to train station.
You can book the airport bus to pick you up from the hotel to go to the airport, as long as your travel times are within the hotel bus operating hours.

The train station is close and convenient although the walk to some platform lines is almost 1 Km from the entrance which is not unusual in Tokyo.
No shuttle to Haneda airport which is around 20 to 30 minutes from the hotel and the cab fairs in Japan are quite steep.
I wanted to reserve a taxi for the next morning the evening before, but they indicated that they were all fully booked.

Arrangement to travel to airport by Airport limosine was messed up but they did rearrange my access to the service
This hotel does offer the Airport shuttle which makes it even more convenient when departing.
The nearest metro station was quite a long walk in the underground to the train.

Had to use the railway station everyday to sightsee or meet up for excursions.
I believe that a hotel should always be able to arrange a taxi.
Very close to the subway station, with access to buses to the airport.

Using the transits everyday was quite stressful in itself, especially with 2 kids.
We arrived here by chauffeur, and our bags were immediately taken.
A little out from main attractions but close to transport options

Taxis are also stationed right in front of the hotel.
The access to the metro lines that suited us
It was easy to get a taxi or Uber.

There is a taxi stand immediately outside the entrance.
There are always a few taxis downstairs waiting.
Easy access by car via the highway.

Direct limousine bus access from Narita.
Subway station very close and convenient.
Easy access to public transport.

Taxis right there always.
Limousine access from Narita.
Close to subway.

Guests generally find the gym clean, well-equipped, and above average for a hotel, with Life Fitness equipment and eight treadmills noted. It supports workouts alongside the pool, though some guests consider it very small, report nonworking machines, or feel it falls below five-star standards.

Gym could be more spacious but not going to complain for machines, etc were great.
