My son and I were extremely impressed with the thoughtful details that went into designing the rooms as well as the rest of the building.

Although they did a good job, booking the hotel (as a tourist) was the #1 thing we would have changed about our trip.

All in all, I would like to return to Ascott Marunouchi, and would recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to Tokyo!

The combination of excellent room conditions, a stunning view, superior customer service and delicious food has left a lasting impression.

A little tricky to find initially as it’s a very small entrance to the apartments in a huge office building.

The view, by the way, was exciting as well – I’ve been enjoying it 24/7 for the whole stay.

We recently enjoyed a family vacation at this remarkable five-star hotel in Tokyo, and the experience was truly memorable.

As a family of four, comfort and convenience are our top priorities and this hotel definitely met our expectations.

I have stayed at intercontinental ANA, Royal Park, Keio Plaza Premier, and so far Ascott is the best.

We spent three days in our apartment relaxing and enjoying all the sites activities in the surrounding area.

I stayed a total of eight days in three different rooms and I liked everything about it.

I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels…Ascott Marunouchi is one of the best.

Overall very satisfied with the stay but also aware that it was a premium price paid.

When you want to travel in style and pamper yourself, this is the place to stay.

Even after studying all the reviews and YouTube videos, Ascott Marunouchi Hotel exceeded our expectations.

We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for families seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Tokyo!

I will definitely return and despite the breakfast I still recommend the Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo.

The Ascott is less of a hotel, more of a set of serviced apartments.

Everything was excellent we will stay again next time we are in Tokyo.

We have never stayed at a nicer hotel in all our travels.

Still recommend Ascott but signs of ageing are starting to appear.

We usually stay at 4 seasons this met my expectation.

Staying at this property screams 'winner' all day long.

Good choice in the business district.

Best hotel in Tokyo so far.

We had a free upgrade to a deluxe room and it comes with dishwasher and washing machine (not that we need it)! The bedsheet is super soft and smooth that makes you don’t really want to get out of bed!

There was a door separating the bedroom and the living room/kitchen so my young child could sleep early while my wife and I could still move around doing things which is key for families.

The deluxe room was the largest I have ever had in Japan; more than adequate size for a business traveller with well-equipped, modern kitchen, separate living area and top of the range shower/bathroom.

More importantly, the rooms feature a full-size European washer and dryer, as well as a complete kitchen well stocked with utensils but not condiments; all appliance are premium brands.

It felt like an apartment with loads of closet space, and a second room with a dining and living area, two toilets, and a really really really good shower.

Rooms on the east and west side face the Imperial Gardens and Ginza, respectively; those on the north and south side only face office buildings across the street.

Our suite came with two full bedrooms (and no, the kids did not have to sleep in the living area, they had their own room!) and two bathrooms.

Why I give 4 stars, because the washing machine is not functioning as dryer so your clothes once are washed will be super difficult to dry.

When asked to make a room change they rebooked us to a higher floor and up charged us $125.00 per night for the same room style.

The second best part was that there was a washing machine and dryer in the room which was really convenient for us to just use everyday!

Our room was a 2 bedroom for a family of four, and it was immaculately clean every day with complete amenities for kitchen and bathrooms.

It would be better if the hotel specified that the room photos on booking.com are just 'for reference- and dont show the actual room....

Of course excellent quality comes at a cost but we could not fault the service we received or quality of our room.

Didn't get chance to use the washer/dryer but its a high spec Panasonic one as were the AEG kitchen appliances.

Very spacious with a kitchenette, living and dining area, large BR and large bathroom and two Todo washlet rooms.

I booked a studio room and it felt a little bit small, next time I’ll book a 1 bedroom.

The self serviced apartment had everything I needed and was a lovely size, bed super comfy and linen gorgeous.

I didn’t have to find a coin laundry down the street or go to a dark basement.

The room was so spacious and roomy and having laundry facilities was an extra bonus.

Awesome room with a beautiful view of the imperial gardens and the CBD of Japan.

The only view we had was of the rooftop of the building next door.

We have stayed in the tatami room twice in the past year.

If you’re traveling with kids you will know how amazing this is!

We had fantastic views of Mount Fuji and used the kitchenette.

I was able to finish the cycle while I was out.

What I didn’t like was the dimness in the bathroom.

The bed was super comfortable, nice linens and pillows.

Rooms where nice and really big, clean, nice view.

We had no real view from our room.

Room was great, clean, modern, A/C worked well.

As it is located in the middle of Tokyo’s largest financial district, visiting the metropolitan area’s landmarks besides the nearby Imperial Palace Gardens requires either a long walk or, better, riding the reliable and efficient (an understatement) mass transit network.

Hotel is a bit corporate as it is in the business district so it did not have a very homely vibe and did not make me feel like I was staying in Tokyo but just another corporate hotel.

The Ascott provides direct underground access to the labyrinthic Otemachi subway station connecting five major subway lines and is only five blocks away from Tokyo Station, where virtually all commuter lines and every Shinkansen route converge.

Connected to the massive Tokyo underground network of shops, restaurants, and Subway/JR train lines through Exit C6b on the B1 level on the opposite elevator shaft of the Otemachi Park Station.

Its located in a business district which I personally like to get away from the hustle bustle, but is centrally located for Tokyo--so the big areas are still very accessible.

I don't like the location it was in an office area and there was not a lot of restaurant especially on Saturday and Sunday when the offices were closed.

It's located a quieter part of the city (which for us was good) if you want nightlife and a good restaurant culture, you won't find it here.

The neighborhood around the hotel is very quiet and clean, and offered a more relaxed pace to Tokyo in comparison to staying in places like Shinjuku.

The location was convenient for getting around to all parts of the city as it has a direct connection to the Otemachi train station.

We didn’t mind that, as it was quieter and there was plenty to find in Tokyo station, but will be an issue for some.

The hotel is 3 minutes walking to the nearest metro station, which is one of the greatest hubs in Tokyo you could find.

That said as a tourist it was within walking distance of Central Station and access to the metro is available within the building.

Convenient location with lots of shops, restaurants, the subway and the central train station all accessible underground a few minutes walk away.

Add an extra 7 mins to all of your site seeing because of the location but we’ll worth it for the room.

We were looking for a place with enough room for 4 of us in Tokyo, which is incredibly hard to find.

The property is located at the commercial centre so the restaurants nearby are closed on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

It’s situated in the heart of Marunouchi walking distance to the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, and Otemachi Station.

There are lots of places to eat in the area and the station is very close by.

The imperial Palace is nearby just across the street where you can visit the beautiful garden.

You are the crossroads between many great areas so it's good as a 'hub' location.

Otemachi station is right below the property and one stop away from Tokyo station.

Stayed there for the marathon as it is right next to the finish line.

We didn’t realize that it is in the middle of the business district.

Right beside the imperial gardens if you want to go for a walk.

Despite the central location, it is completely silent here, especially at night.

The location was pretty central close to Tokyo main railway station.

In the middle of the business district so quiet at night.

It’s on the top of a high rise business building.

But in financial district so not much happening at night.

Additionally, we sought assistance with booking a limousine, but to summarize, it appeared that none of the front desk staff were willing to make an effort to support their guests.

It is truly disappointing to witness such a decline in service quality at a Japan Ascott property, reaching an unacceptable level of customer care.

We faced a couple of issues with our room during our stay, but the staff was prompt and highly efficient in their response.

Cannot forget to mention their chef at the restaurant, their staff at reception and the restaurant, were all very warm and welcoming.

The staff was also very knowledgeable and helpful about Tokyo and provided key information on airport transfers, subway information and commuting options.

Regrettably, this experience has solidified our decision that this will be our inaugural and final stay at this particular Ascott location.

The staff were friendly and helpful on check in, check out & helping us forward luggage to the next hotel.

Not only did they resolve our concerns swiftly, they also offered us additional benefits as a gesture of goodwill.

Unrealistic expectations on our part that this caliber hotel would have bilingual staff able to make recommendations.

Service at this hotel is top-notch, with the staff showcasing exceptional professionalism and dedication to their work.

Staff service here was amazing and they went above and beyond to make my family at home.

They all speak very good English and that is not easy to encounter in Japan hotels.

The fellow on the desk the following night was much more fluent and explained very clearly.

I think they should at least try their best not to say no to hotel guests.

Instead of providing assistance, they seemed intent on shifting the responsibility onto us, the customers.

Food service was only offered at certain times but Uber eats is Easy to order.

I dont have a feeling that they are welcoming you to stay at the hotel.

Staff are super friendly and willing to think out of the box to help you

Housekeeping was impeccable and guest services were considerate and very empathetic to needs and wants.

Hotel staff is friendly and helpful, maybe a little slow to reply but very nice.

This series of miscommunications and service shortcomings left us disappointed with the overall experience.

Ricardo (frontdesk) was very helpful in making calls and follow up w taxi companies.

The staff at the check-in counter was kind and helpful as well.

We had a long wait each time we stopped at the desk.

However, the front desk team's performance leaves much to be desired.

Despite poor staffing at the desk we enjoyed our stay.

Service as you would expect for Tokyo is faultless.

I’m general the staff was very helpful and friendly.

If the food matched the cost (more options or lower the cost) and the waitstaff waits to prepare for lunch, then this would have completely been a 5 star experience.

But it is just that, a Japan buffet breakfast so not much aside from cornflakes and pastries for those who don’t wish a stew or fish for breakfast.

We had it on our first morning. After that first morning we went out and ate locally. Better for a lot less money.

The food quality was in line with the high Japanese food standards; only some Western items could have been served a little warmer.

We were asked to wear a mask and use gloves in the dinning area and temperature was taken at entrance of restaurant.

To top it all off, the breakfast spread every morning was delightful, adding to the perfect start of our day.

The Ascott offers a satisfying complimentary breakfast buffet, serving a rotating combination of Japanese, Singaporean, Chinese and American breakfast items.

A wide array of dishes were available that catered to our diverse palate, making every breakfast an exciting experience.

We paid $37 per person for their breakfast and I didn’t feel it was $37 of quality food.

My only suggestion before staying there would be to map walkable dining options (Particularly breakfast) Be realistic.

The waffles are the best from any hotel we have stayed in (give it a toast).

This is an unfair comment as the breakfast provided is a staple breakfast for Japan.

Also a half hour before breakfast is over, the waitstaff is already preparing for lunch.

The breakfast was limited and there weren’t a lot of good choices close by.

You would find better price and value at a Japanese bakery or cafe nearby.

They are moving about about so much, it distracts you from the dining experience.

The breakfast was one of the best we have had in Japan.

There is limited food availability, only offering breakfast and lunch.

The first time we've used washing machine our laundry smelled a bit strange. As if machine wasn't used for quite a while or may be needed maintenance.

I didn't realize when I booked it all the amenities it had, so we were so surprised to find a washing machine and a kitchen!

I did mention a few times that the filter needs to be cleaned for the washing machine but it never got done.

Another garbage can for food would have been good as well so it does not stink up the kitchen.

The outside terrace looked nice for the summer as did the self serve Jura coffee machine in the lobby.

Access to a smoking booth on the lobby floor was also useful for my partner.

The TV channels were much better than other hotels in Tokyo we stayed at previously

It has amenities that is very convenient like washer and dryer in the room.

Didn't hamper the usage of the washing machine so it was fine.

The hotel also has a fitness center and a small swimming pool.

There is only one small business room, but seems not so useful.

When we got to the restaurant at 9:30, the person who greeted us was frustrated that we were there so late made us fell rushed and uncomfortable.

The only downside is the somewhat limited food options - the basement restaurants are rather pricey but Lawson and 7-11 and Family Mart is near.

We asked the reception staff to make a dinner reservation for us (1 hour before) and they did so and found a lovely spot!

The restaurant specializes in Singaporean food but when I was there, it was often all booked up for private parties in the evening.

Whilst the restaurant is closed in the evening there are a number of restaurants in the basement of the building.

The breakfast area doubles as a lunch and dinner restaurant, Triple One, which we did not try.

The hotel doesn’t have a bar or restaurant during the weekend which it sucks.

However, their breakfast is underwhelming and not worth the 4500 yen per person.

There is a nice Singaporean restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner.

There are restaurants in the basement (like many places in Tokyo)

The only negative experience we had was at the restaurant.

Just wish they had evening dining and a bar/lounge.

Whenever we had a question about tourism or extending check out or even checking in it was standard protocol to "work" or look like they were "working" on their computer until we got frustrated and asked what they were working on.

Feeling frustrated by the inconsistency and lack of communication, we requested a clear resolution and asked for a message to be left for us in our room on Friday on the outcome of the late check out.

Only issues were when checking in, later at night 9:00pm - 10:00 the fellow at the desk spoke very little English and tried unsuccessfully to explain bars and restaurants were closing by 10pm due to holiday?

Initially, we were informed that standard check-out is at noon, and to extend it to 2 pm, we needed to request to the front desk team one day before our check out.

After expressing our confusion, the staff member then mentioned our ASR membership privilege allowing us to check out at 1 pm, a detail that had not been shared with us previously.

The hotel consists of several floors, from 22 to 27 floors, after a 14-hour flight a 5-star hotel should be able to check guests in earlier without requiring any membership

To our surprise, we were informed that extending our stay by two hours would incur a 30% charge of the daily rate, contradicting the information provided earlier.

Their check in and check out process was super slow compared to more efficient and expedient service at other hotels like Keio and Candeo.

The lady at the front desk told me that I will have to pay extra if I wanted to check-in at 10:30 AM.

Regrettably, we were told this was not possible, and we were instructed to check back in on Friday afternoon for a final decision.

They are busy trying to get folks to sign up for their ASR loyalty program which distracts from an optimized check in….IMO.

It took us over an hour and a half to get checked in because the guy kept typing away on the computer.

The staff were friendly and helpful on check in, check out & helping us forward luggage to the next hotel.

We inquired about the possibility of a late check-out at 2 pm on Saturday due to our 7 pm flight.

The hotel was difficult to find because it's reception is on the 18th floor but that is typical in Japan.

The front desk lady told me check out was 11, on the sheet it says 12.

I showed my displeasure on being asked to pay extra for early checking.

The lady insisted that she will not give me a complimentary early check-in.

I checked into the hotel at 10 o'clock in the morning.

I had to pay, and I got an early check-in done.

On Friday morning, we revisited the front desk to follow up.

She too it was asked to pay for early check-in.

I was hosting and I paid for early checking.

The reception and check-in and check-out was very efficient.

This was quite unexpected and very annoying.

Especially when it comes to repeat guest.

We appreciated the noon check out.

We also enjoyed the gym facility which was quite well equipped and we used it everyday.

Their gym is really nice as well, it has everything you need for a great workout.

Pool hours are a bit too restrictive for this category of hotel, and the requirement to sign up in advance to swim means the pool can, in a way, be privatized for oneself since no one else can swim during the reserved time slots.

There is a pool, which has an 'odd' booking procedure but we gained access for a couple of nights and it helped take away some of the days weariness.

The pool is a saving grace too, its open til 10pm so was good to get a swim in every evening before bed to help with the jet lag.

Since the pool is not very big, the fact that you can have the pool all to yourself is a great perk.

It has a small exercise pool that you can book to use for 1 hour, which is excellent.

We booked the pool on arrival and it was lovely, with a great view!
