Excellent hotel, a great option with good value for money. New and comfortable facilities with a great breakfast. The hotel staff provides very good service, friendly and helpful, always willing to assist. It's not very close to the main tourist attractions but it's located next to the metro station.
I would recommend this hotel, if you want to stay in a modern & spacious hotel (rare to find in HK) at a reasonable price.
But all the living standards is very good, and all are high quality too, is a super deal with this kind of quality

We came back here after several years and were pleased to find the same atmosphere, elegant but easygoing at the same time.
But again, this is a minor trade off for how great the other amenities and hotel location are :-)
My family had a great time staying and would definitely come back and highly recommend to any future travellers!

I am not coming back anymore and I'm going to share my bad experience with all the friends.
Not a 5 star at all , price was way to high for what is offered ?
The first of a number of hotels on our trip around Asia, we loved our stay here.

It was an enjoyable stay and the hotel exceeds my expectations. I will consider staying again.
We returned every year to stay at East, just like going back to a second home.
East Hotel has always been my preferred hotel choice whenever I’m back in HK …

So the side entrance has to be used, which is inconvenient and a bit confusing.
All our needs were met with an easy elegance and we enjoyed our stay.
It was regrettable that two points above wiped out all other good points.

Everything here is excellent, but nothing is exceptional. Perfect for a business hotel.
But I doubt you can get this big room at this price
Overall, 5/5 stars experience and would definitely recommend anyone to visit.

I think overall the hotel to price ratio was great.
Very bad experience very poor G/F CS at counter
We had a great time with my family.

Great value for a very nice hotel
Everything u did to us are unforgettable.
Disappointing experience for a 5-star hotel

Stayed there for a weekday staycation.
Good for business short stay
WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO OTHERS.

Exceptional value for money
Well designed and spatious.
Will be back soon!

The bathroom features a semi-open layout with high transparency. This offers very low privacy and can feel quite uncomfortable if you are sharing the room with friends or family. The worst thing is there is no exhaust fan. Steam and odors cannot escape easily, it is not expected with a high rated hotel. Due to the lack of ventilation and subpar drainage, the shower floor stays wet and slippery for a long time. You have to walk very carefully to avoid slipping.
Some basic hardware upgrades are: a bathroom slide door to ward off the aircon when one comes out of a warm shower! Individual lighting for the bathroom instead of turning on the master for all lights. A bidet seems to be an inexpensive addition than the rather old fashion toilet bowl where unsightly residues can't be flushed only after several flushes. Drawers are lacking but there's room for a bigger cabinet with a smaller tall mirror!
Clean and nice decor and design. Artsy but not overdoing it. We were there on our honeymoon and really grateful that we got the best type of corner room (as advertised; truly gives you almost 180degree view) and a complimentary red wine. Most comfortable bath robe I’ve ever had! (Yes I had to resist stealing it…. Sort of haha)

Corner harbour view was worth every penny : although I knew what to expect and re-contacted the property to make sure Id get a great view, nothing prepared me for that magical feeling of opening your bedroom door and seeing Hong-Kong's gorgeous night views. Opening the blinds in the morning was just as magical.
What I don't like is that there is very little room/space for us to store our stuff. We have to put everything back into our luggage. We stayed for six nights and every night we had to get our clothing for the next day from our luggage and put our dirty clothing back in.
The bathroom area was not properly lighted. The shower room light was too dim. I felt that I brush my teeth in dim light and had to put makeup on with insufficient lighting. There were unnecessary lights over the beds which we never used.

I think the ocean-view rooms on the higher floors are really beautiful, especially when the weather is good. I had originally booked an ocean-view room, and I think I may have been upgraded to a higher floor because it was my birthday (?).
The bathroom in the room I stayed always had a bad smell even not using the bathroom. I think it comes from the floor drain or extract fan no working . The same happens to the other room though less severe.
The bathroom area is not bright enough. There’s no privacy. After you come out from the shower. I shared room with my sister and we both felt very awkward. Not to mention if I travel with my son

The water pressure did not seem very strong. This was especially noticeable when flushing the toilet. The shower water pressure was okay, but the temperature kept fluctuating, so showering was not very comfortable.
I booked the corner room and I have no building block the view of the Victoria Harbor. Just the right floor, 24/F. You can enjoy the breathtaking view even when you are showering.
So lucky to be upgraded to a harbour view deluxe room., on the 26th floor! The view was simply stunning. A clear uninterrupted view of the harbour and there’s a huge balcony.

HIGHTLIGHT was Room cleaning staff is exceptional, we visited on Easter weekend and each time the room is spotless and feeling like it’s cleaner and cleaner each day after clean.
The photo on booking.com for our twin room showed a fabulous view of tall office buildings, however our room looked onto a couple of very grotty apartment buildings.
Even that the bathroom is very stylish the fact that the shower doesn’t have door, makes that the floor get very wet when take a shower.

ROOM VERY CLEAN, BED/PILLOWS VERY COMFORTABLE, SHOWER EXCELLENT, KETTLE/TEA/COFFEE APPRECIATED. FRIDGE/WATER TAP ALL APPRECIATED. DO NOT DISTURB FUNCTION APPRECIATED. VERY PEACEFUL NIGHT SLEEP
2.) The bed is horrible, one side is tiled and it is hard. I developed back pain from staying at this hotel.
No individual light switch for the bathroom, can only turn on the floodlight at the floor beside the flushing toilet.

A glass was broken by accident in room by kid and immediately was taking care of by cleaning staff.
Our high elevation corner was excellent in terms of functionality, aesthetics and its marvellous mountain and harbour view.
Could’ve had more hangers or even a fitted wardrobe would be great. More hanging space in general.

(2) I really liked the contemporary room design but there's only one drawer to store your clothes!
1. No available socket in the bathroom; no lighting on/off switch in the toilet or bathroom.
The room felt really moist, and the aircon was a little too cold at the beginning

Rooms are incredible (we had harbour views) and include a fridge which is always useful.
The water kept running out from shower door causing slippery floor outside shower door.
Although the room is a bit small, we are very happy with it.

I was on wrong side of building so not that great view
Great room (corner room), decent size, nicely designed and clean
Bathrooms are cramped, but other than that, rooms excellent

Great location - near Tai Koo MTR. Hotel is spacious and right next to a mall. The mall is huge as well. Within walking distance, there are eateries and cafes. Great environment around the property - quiet but with sufficient amenities.
The location was also super convenient as a metro station is right by the hotel door (like 30 meters away) and is also super close to the Monster Building which is probably my favorite attraction/thing to see in Hong-Kong.
The hotel is outside the city center, but right next to the metro (the Island Line; you can be downtown in 7 stops), connected to the City Plaza shopping center and just a short walk from the waterfront.

Great location! A bit out of the buzz and hectic of the city center but with great and fast connection back into the center. Right on top of a mall with many nice shops.
Nothing about the hotel itself but location is slightly less convenient if you plan on spending most of your time near or past the Central area or going to Kowloon a bunch.
Although this area is not exactly a tourist hotspot, it is still very convenient to get around by MRT, and the overall environment is quite comfortable and pleasant.

Location is perfect with MTR station and bus station right in front of the hotel. great mall just next door and with some good restaurants around the area.
Nothing! If I have to be picky, I would say there are other seaview hotel closer to the prime session of the harbour (causeway bay or north point),
I further want to give a shoutout to how convenient it is for me to go to Taikoo Plaza from EAST. It is just a footbridge away.

This is quite wonderful as I can spend a whole day at Taikoo Plaza and return to the hotel without any need to brace the elements.
When I was staying at the hotel, most of the time the weather was pretty bad; so I particularly appreciated how conveniently located EAST was.
Not a good place to relax or do work when anybody and their cousin can sit next to you and demand the same service.

Excellent location just next to the nearest MTR station and connects to the mall where it offers practically all shopping and different eateries.
East is hidden gem on the Hong Kong Island and a little out of the madness but still easy to get to.
The view, the surrounding environment, the shopping mall and very convenient with taxi nearby and MTR entrance right next to the hotel.

There are convenience stores nearby, which is very convenient. Of course, having the MRT right next door is also very convenient.
Very convenient to go anywhere as metro is just next to the hotel and the shopping mall is just superb.
Hotel location not so close to central but just beside the MTR and a good and big shopping center ..

The location is great for what we needed - close to family, the MTR and the mall City Plaza.
The hotel is right next door to Tai Koo metro station, HSBC bank and shopping plaza.
We savors the beautiful view and spend many hours at the adjacent mall.

Close to shopping mall, MTR station and jogging route by the harbor!!!
Very close to MTR and a huge shopping centre with supermarkets etc.
Next to the mall, convenient to shopping, foods, gifts etc etc.

The East had stayed and will remain in our hearts...
The hotel is very conveniently attached to CityPlaza Mall
The price is on par with the surrounding area.

It is convenient located by taikoo MTR station.
Great location next to a mall with restaurants
But that’s the price to be quiet.

I contacted the hotel staffs beforehand to seek their assistance in arranging the flowers and the cakes. The staffs were very very helpful and my celebration went very smoothly thanks to them, so the service at the hotel is top-notch.
The Reception on duty staff named Jimmy on 1st Oct and 2nd Oct day shift Ground floor Reception staff (on duty at 11am to 11:30am) the female staff are so bad.
They said yes, that of course they had cranberry juice, but what was produced and delivered by a different member of staff was even worse, including grapefruit juice.

We explained to the waiter and another colleague (possibly manager) that it should be cranberry, and were told it’s their twist, including cranberry and orange.
And the lady on phone first question is anyone ok. Which is outstanding than just Sure we will come right now.
HK really need these service and can feel that the staff working is genuinely happy. Which we felt the same too.

Humphrey was outstanding , taking note of my dates of stay, and even my birthday during my stay there.
Nobody helped me with my luggage to my room or opened the door as I entered / exited.
The G/F receptionist was not well trained enough: 1st Oct day time on duty staff called Jimmy and

We arrived very early from a long international flight and they gave us rooms hours in advance
Not great to lie to your guests, and I suggest you learn the cocktails on the menu.
During our stay we had some health issues and the way staff help us was priceless.

And had to do online work. They brought me water and show that they care.
The hotel staff provides very good service, friendly and helpful, always willing to assist.
Staff were okay, would be great if they were more friendly or smiley. 😉

The staff were helpful and friendly at all times and with every question.
The woman providing housekeeping on our floor was sunny and efficient, detailed oriented.
Staffs were ok, not the friendliest people on earth, but there weren't rude.

Family staycation was worth a visit. Staff so friendly and helpful. Excellent service.
Helpful and smiling staff (from the receptionists to the housekeepers and bartenders).
Staff dropped off my credit card I had dropped during check in

The house keeping staff is always accommodating and do a good job.
Thanks to all of East Hong Kong team one more time.
Also, personnel is very kind and eager to help.

1.) Front desk night staff was not friendly.
The bar staff were inattentive and arrogant.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff are super helpful and friendly!
Super nice staff
Professional hotel staffs.

I also loved that the hotel was environmentally-friendly, very modern and very hip with tons of small initiatives taken to limit the environmental footprint of the stay.
It is funny but I was blown away by the interior design of the male washroom at FEAST (restaurant of EAST), it is quite breathtaking.
They have a nice rooftop bar though we didn’t stay long since we already have a wonderful panoramic view from our room.

Only thing was the wifi stopped working after midnight and called once to fix it but it stopped working again after 5mins.
Finally, the very soft carpeting in the corridors made it quite difficult to roll a suitcase to and from the room.
The EAST Hotel overall has very nice interior designs, it is stylish, homely but dignified, typical of all Taikoo establishments.

The lobby also has a really chill shared space where you can use your laptop, which is quite nice.
Was a wonderful, memorable stay @ the beautiful EAST HK. It’s a modern huge lobby / reception area
2. The coffee maker did not work as the capsule doesn’t stay at the right place.

The hotel is non-smoking, so I don’t need to worry about the smell of the cigarette.
Side note: their bar on the roof top has excellent view of the harbor at night.
Plenty of lifts to cope with guests numbers (often not the case in Hong Kong)

The rooftop bar with views over the bay and city is worth a visit.
U don t need go out at all to get even a bubble tea
The roof top bar was amazing and the reason we booked the hotel.

VERY EXPENSIVE ROOFTOP WITH POOR APPETIZERS — WE HAD 2 UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCES.
We had an issue with the plumbing but this was resolved promptly.
The view from the Sugar bar/lounge is wonderful and worth seeing.

On site, there's a good roof top bar with harbour views
Amenities are now available when asked which is great for environment.
Everything is always very clean, well planned and detailed oriented.

There was no porter and the lobby a bit lifeless
The rooftop bar have a nice environment and good view.
The cafe downstairs great for a catch up with friends

We particularly liked the roof top terrace.
Amenities and furniture were very modern.
View from rooftop bar is amazing.

We appreciate the hotel's cleanliness.
New and comfortable facilities
And rooftop bar

The only set back was the breakfast. It wasn't a buffet and we had to choose from a set menu. We were only allowed to pick one main dish and a side (small bowl of fruits or yoghurt) from the set menu which is definitely not enough for some people. Even an extra small toast would be charged for. Overall, the quality of the breakfast was good but it was definitely not enough.
Although it really wasn't bad and they rwere many european/asian options, I wasn't blown away by the breakfast buffet, especially given how expensive it is : toaster was broken and sweet options were limited to small baked goods (croissant, pain au chocolat) with no pancakes or waffles for example.
Breakfast was fine, a small affair. Eggs how you like (we had Spanish omelettes, v yummy) .. and usual offerings of bacon, beans, and selection of breads. The fruit selection included oranges, bananas, and apples; where were the seasonal tropical fruits .. mango, durian, guava, custard apple?

Breakfast was poor value and product Quality very Low compared to rest of the property. Selections mostly unhealthy processed Foods. Your breakfast could have less items and be a lot more nutritions. Service at breakfast was poor.
The breakfast buffet at FEAST has many offerings and while pricy, the foods was fresh and tasty. We particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and BBQ bun.
We did opt for breakfast which finishes @ 10:30 am so get there early.. they clear up quickly, in preparation for the seafood lunchtime feast.

We're requested to pay for it in cash, which was somewhat weird given the post-Covid era and the fact that the hotel is very modern.
Also the buffet breakfast is lacking in a tad bit of variety but it has everything common and necessary.
Those who do not need a breakfast buffet can order very good coffee and a croissant or muesli.

There’s always the Chinese option of congee with 1,000 year old eggs or the fried noodles.
The use of bread to soak fat from bacon creates a allergy hazard for celiacs.
They can also cover for bacon at breakfast so it doesn't get cold.

The hotel restaurant offers a wide variety of breakfast choices.
A few things to improve: articificial sugar available at breakfast
The buffet we thought was better than we originally thought.

The breakfast lacked warm food— there was limited option.
We didn't try breakfast, unfortunately.
I also like the breakfast

Our rate didn't include breakfast
And an excellent breakfast.
With a great breakfast.

Breakfast was very good.
Buffet breakfast is expensive
I had breakfast there

Breakfast closes too early
Breakfast was so so.
Breakfast was amazing!

And good breakfast.
Breakfast superb

It's right outside exit D of the MTR which is all accessible by lift (great for heavy bags)
The hotel is away from the city center, but right next to the tram and subway.
I was able to wheel my luggage from the Hong Kong Int'l airport to the hotel.

The hotel is right outside the Tai Koo Shing metro station which made traveling very convenient.
But easy to get around with MTR station just on the door step.
Easy accessible via MRT. However, difficult to get taxi services at peak hour.

Super close to the MTR station, with beautiful views — love it!
It was rainy day. When we was waiting at the taxi drop
Conveniently located, with the MTR station directly next to the hotel.

We accessed the Island Line train from the station located there.
The MTR station is just a step away from the hotel.
You're only a few stops away from 'down town' HK.

Catching a taxi for the airport was also super convenient.
Hotel located right by the Mtr exit was really convenient.
But it is located next to the metro station.

The temporary entrance not close to taxi/uber drop-off.
And lifts to ensure it’s all accessible.
Near MTR easy access to transportation.

It does make a different.
And mtr station as well
Close to MTR

I arrived the hotel at 2am in the midnight, the requested king bed type is fully booked n the front desk staff spent a bit long time to find my reservation via hotels.com however she was very polite n tried the best to arrange us to higher floor by my room request, she even proactively offered later check out time which is very considerate.
It is not reasonable that we paid via hotels.com for a room already paid tax for the room and the 2nd Oct staff who handled our checkout kept saying it is normal to pay for second time tax (service charge at 10%) for an upgrade room.
A few small issues that the hotel could improve: check-in desks need one queue line. Having 3 separate ones meant that we were stuck behind someone who took a while, and others who arrived long after us were seen first.

Check in was unacceptably tiresome, especially the requirement to see the credit card when the payment had already been taken from the card and from my account.
Also reception offered an early check in as the room is ready. Which is a nice surprise too. (wont expected that next time of course)
Most importantly, the hotel was accommodating enough to allow early check in as my flight landed at 5am. Very grateful for that.

On check out date 2nd Oct G/F receptionist right after our extended and double paid tax for an upgraded sea view room.
The staff gave me an ultimatum rudely to check out at 1pm or pay up for an extension of for $2000.
Plus the requirement for a $500 deposit - never requested before after many earlier stays at this hotel.

It’s been a month after my checkout, the hotel is still holding my deposit!!
I had a bad experience with the staff when checking out the room.
Unpleasant because the hotel holds my deposit for a long time.

We queued for the check in for more than an hour
I have multiple issues with this being a 5-star hotel:
The room check in very efficiently with clear instructions

Of the official check in time
Check-in was fast and smooth.
During check-in & check-out.

Check in was easy,
Check in was quick,
Perfect check in.

Although I didn't swim because of poor weather, the pool views are pretty cool and original as you swim in the middle of tall buildings (rather than bay view as I think this is what you get in most HK hotel pools.
Frustrating that we were once told the pool needed to close for a couple of hours due to storm warning when there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, but think that’s more of an HK-wide thing rather than this hotel.
The pool was out of this world .. had it to myself too! The experience of laid in the water on your back facing the sky and the building soaring upwards .. incredible!

Kids looking around and wanted to see swimming pool and it was a very warm welcomed again by staff on Gym and pool floor.
Best of all was an excellent and quiet pool that had sun, loungers and was easy to book for a time slot we wanted.
That alone lifts it into a new category in our minds given the pool based frustrations we have had elsewhere.

The pool is nice but the view of the housing blocks lets it down compared to other hotels in HK.
The weather was chilly during our visit so we did not visit the pool area.
Two small points: (1)It would have been better if the pool had been heated.

It’s nice to have an outdoor pool to enjoy during the days.
Pool really nice too, and quiet despite being surrounded by other buildings.
Pool hours are very limited for summer closing at 7 pm.

Great time and amazing experience with the rooftop !
Pool is also nice and clean
Noisy kids in the pool area

Including a pool
Nice swimming pool
Nice pool

Good coffee, up to Australian standards but very expensive, $12 for an almond flat white 😳 but was still worth it after being in China mainland for a week where good coffee does not exist.
I particularly enjoyed the semi-buffet at FEAST, the food was excellent. I liked the all-you-can-eat fresh oysters and my braised short ribs main dish which was so full of flavor.
One bigger issue was the service at Sugar bar, where we ordered a Cosmopolitan and were served a drink that included orange juice.

I liked SUGAR, the cocktails there are nice and the bar is very chill, plus the view their is excellent too.
It didn’t taste good so we asked if they could make a normal one just with cranberry.
If the food at their restaurant Feast can improve more, it will be a perfect stay.

But there's a reasonable a la carte cafe next to the buffet area
I booked FEAST and SUGAR (rooftop bar) for dinner and after-dinner drinks.
Didn't try Sugaar, the hotel bar, but views looked beautiful.

Coffee shop & restaurant downstairs are open to public
The music inside SUGAR is a bit too loud.
Even though the restaurants and bar are very lively

Drinks were extremely overpriced.
And bar in 32F.
With wonderful restaurants

The gym could be better, more spacious. I weight train so it was difficult to find mirror space.
Gym was rather small - but had everything one could need and in good condition.
Didn't use the gym but it looked a decent one

Was able to enjoy the gym a few times
Gym too basic for me if staying longer
Good gym with an excellent rowing machine

And gym.
Gym
