Guests repeatedly praise the clean, spacious, well-equipped apartments, helpful staff, convenient KLCC location, comfort, security, and suitability for families. Many consider it good value and return regularly. Recurring concerns include an aging property needing renovation, standards below five-star expectations, high prices, poor sound insulation, average air conditioning, and smoke odors in hallways and bathrooms.

Unfortunately, I am a fan of the global Accor hotels and I have visited this hotel before and was impressed by it, but now just imagine, I found the furniture old and worn out, and unfortunately, I found cockroaches and insects.

★ 3.0Family with Children

The place is not really a hotel and most of the time there is only one person working in the reception area, it’s more like an apartment complex but costs way too much for an apartment complex.

★ 7.0Extended Group

Great location, great staff, i stayed at executive apartment with family it was a very peaceful and comfy stay , very clean comfortable and convenient

★ 8.0Extended Group

A nice hotel close to the Twin Towers, the staff are helpful, it's a serviced apartment system, it has a kitchen and utensils, considered average

★ 8.0Family with Children

Keep up the great job, Ascott! You are our newest favorite and we will stay at your brand again when we can find one.

★ 10.0Family

So overall, I recommend it for a short stay of five to six days; anything longer than that, I would prefer another place.

★ 6.0Family with Children

And the air conditioning is very average, as well as the smell of smoke in the hallways and bathroom is terrible

★ 5.0Family with Children

Cleanliness, the location, the staff, the amenities of the room - everything is at the highest level.

In conclusion, it was a pleasant stay with incredible views and a solid sense of organization.

Rooms: What guests say

View Ascott Kuala Lumpur

399 relevant reviews

Rooms are consistently spacious, comfortable, and family-friendly, often with practical kitchens, large beds, good water pressure, and occasional upgrades. Recurring drawbacks include severe street noise and weak soundproofing, sewage or musty/smoke odors, dated furnishings, uneven housekeeping, and occasional AC, plumbing, TV, and amenity problems. Some rates are considered high.

My room the doors to the balcony did not close 100%, so the road noise was quite annoying overnight, being woken quite a few times from noisy motorbikes, it was only on the last day I noted the doors were unable to close tightly (bedroom balcony, room 1206)

★ 7.0Solo Traveller

Very scary to step out onto them, and it would be good for both those balconies to be re-tiled with a more secure and solid balustrade - the same as the front balconies.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The rooms’ aircon were not working, called up technician and he said no problem with aircon even though there was no air coming out from the aircon unit.

★ 6.0Family with Children

We had to move rooms as the original room was unbearable to stay in due to the foul smell from the dirty toilet and drain

★ 1.0Couple

I stayed in 3 bedroom apartment..this is my fifth time actually..since 2013 was my first and on my last visit this June 2025..

★ 6.0Family with Children

Our suite is beautiful with modern amenities, full kitchenette with great water filtration, bed and pillows were comfortable and shower was super!

★ 10.0Family

The access to a fridge and microwave made it a better stay than at a hotel, with the same 'hotel feel'.

★ 10.0Couple

We stayed at Ascott KLCC for the third time. As always, a fantastic apartment to relax in after various tours.

★ 9.0Extended Group

The apartment: Very luxurious with a wonderful view of the towers, comfortable and clean beds, and a fully equipped kitchen.

★ 9.0Family with Children

Most of the rooms have a problem with street sound insulation; the noise from cars is extremely annoying.

★ 5.0Family with Children

10 mins after the engineer left, front desk rang and informed me a room was in fact available.

★ 4.0None

I asked for a baby crib the first night, it was never brought up to the room.

★ 5.0Family with Children

Splendid short holiday trip for the family made possible by a superb family room by Ascott KL.

★ 9.0Family with Young Children

We had a one bedroom appartment on the 6th floor and it was an impressive size.

★ 8.0Couple

Noticed there was a disposable toothbrush kit toothpaste recap under the new items on the tray.

★ 8.0

Tried to fill bathtub with water but what came out of the tap was brownish/rusted water.

★ 8.0

They have self laundry machines in 22nd floor which is good for family with kids

★ 9.0Family with Children

We stayed in the one bedroom apartment and it was very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped.

★ 8.0Couple

There were stains on furniture including dining chairs which meant we avoided using some.

★ 5.0Family with Children

The size of the 3 bedroom apartment (3 bedroom..with 3 bathrooms and kitchen..living room)

★ 6.0Family with Children

The sheet had stains on it and they wouldn’t care to change it.

★ 6.0Extended Group

The first room was changed due to several broken items and damp walls.

★ 5.0Family with Children

Hotel is very old and the cup in the room with stain.

★ 5.0Extended Group

The room, though well maintained, still feels a bit tired and dated.

★ 8.0Family with Children

My studio room was clean, cosy and the window view was nice.

★ 8.0Family with Children

The toilet bit too small and too low for us big guy and also airconditioner not working we need to move in the middle of the night cause the room getting hot and we get a smaller bed room to stay witch is no have other choice and not same bed room also what we have book for two night staying here.

★ 5.0Couple

My booking was for a two-bedroom apartment. Strange, after the booking, the hotel contacted me and informed me that if I wanted to upgrade to a more luxurious room than the one I booked, I would need to pay an additional amount. They offered me between 40 to 80 ringgit per night. I chose 45 ringgit, and the upgrade was approved.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The hotel put me in a smoking apartment that wasn’t acceptable & next day they changed it to another one which was worse with a very bad smell (sewers ) so I checked out and went to another hotel even though I had one paid night left in my reservation.

★ 5.0Family with Children

In terms of standard of the rooms, there were visible signs of wear and tear (eg a section of the floorboards in our apartment was in a state of disrepair) but we were informed upfront of this issue, at check-in, so it was not an unexpected surprise.

★ 8.0Family

Back to the room temperature issue, we requested for room change, instead reception offered if he can send an engineer in to check and advised me if the issue still persisted, to ask for the room change again the next morning as no rooms available.

Location: What guests say

396 relevant reviews

The hotel’s standout strength is its central KLCC location, typically a 2–5 minute walk from the Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC, and nearby attractions, with Pavilion accessible via a pedestrian bridge. Restaurants, malls, and a 24-hour grocery store are close, but repeated reviews report severe traffic noise and poor soundproofing.

It's close to the towers and there's a grocery store below the apartments; there is also a washer and dryer for a fee on the pool level.

★ 10.0Family with Children

The room was not properly soundproofed or isolated, and traffic noise from passing cars could be heard throughout the day and night.

★ 1.0Solo Traveller

Around the corner is a small bakery as well as several restaurants where you can get decent and tasty breakfast.

★ 5.0Family with Children

A mini supermarket that is very handy next to the hotel and an ATM in the adjacent building.

★ 10.0Family with Children

Location is premium in the heart of KL, a couple of minutes away from the Petronas towers.

★ 9.0Family with Children

Location is great being very close to KLCC and reasonable willing distance to Bukit Bintang area.

★ 10.0

Definitely would be my go to if I am ever spending my time around KLCC

★ 8.0Family with Children

★ 10.0Family

The natural beauty really added to the atmosphere, making it a memorable trip.

★ 7.0Family with Children

★ 10.0Family

The location of the hotel is great

★ 2.0Family with Children

I arrived at 11 AM and they refused to let me in until 1 PM, even though the room was empty and the cleaning staff took over at 12. They kept delaying me, claiming it wasn't ready, even though I explained my situation that I just arrived with the kids and we are all tired and need to rest.

★ 3.0Family with Children

You can go for a run, enjoy sunset walks, have fun with children in the water play areas or sports spaces, all while accessing world cuisines in the countless restaurants offered by the 3 enormous shopping centers of KLCC illuminated by these massive Twin Towers.

★ 10.0Family with Children

Thirdly, there is a supermarket, grocery stores, and restaurants nearby; you just need to walk for about 10 minutes to reach a Pakistani restaurant, a Samad Iraqi restaurant, and also an Iranian restaurant.

Staff are overwhelmingly described as friendly, welcoming, professional, and helpful, with repeated praise for reception and named employees such as Farah, Harmizi, Maisarah, and Rabeka. Guests also report inconsistent service: unfriendly or unresponsive reception, poor complaint follow-through, limited late checkout, and long waits for blankets, repairs, extra beds, or other requests.

We requested a upgrade and she was extremely efficient in organising this as well as offering excellent advice which made our stay all the more relaxing - Please forward our gratitude to her for making us feel welcome!

★ 10.0Family with Children

The security at the hotel is very excellent, as well as the treatment of the staff and their warm welcome, especially one of the secretaries who greeted us upon our arrival and departure, may God reward him well.

(1) The reception is bad as we arrived at 2 PM after a long journey and they informed us that the room was not ready and needed two hours to be prepared, and in an inappropriate manner.

Breakfast: What guests say

View Ascott Kuala Lumpur

204 relevant reviews

Breakfast is most often described as basic, limited, or poor, with few choices and occasional extra charges for coffee. It is frequently served in an adjacent building or restaurant during renovations, inconvenient in rain or with children, and some guests were not notified. Others found it fresh, tasty, adequate, or very good.

Breakfast buffet was supposed to be open from 6.30am until 10.30am. However by 10am most of the food are finished and weren’t topped up. The management should have ensured a full buffet is available and provided for guests until the end of breakfast time, as breakfast is paid for.

★ 5.0Extended Group

My only complaint was not being notified before arrival the sky bar and the breakfast restaurant was close. I personally like to get out of bed have breakfast and head back to bed, without having to walk from one building to another.

★ 10.0Solo Traveller

We had to go to the next building to have breakfast which was a bit poor, this was not stated upon booking therefore I would have opted for room only as it wasn't convenient and the not much selection.

★ 7.0Family with Children

Staff didnt tell us that we need to "order" our breakfast daily, so our breakfast for the next 3 days was based on the choice that we made during check in.

★ 7.0Family with Children

Travellers, please skip the breakfast, just 5 minutes walk in SURYA KLCC you will find plenty of great and affordable breakfast restaurant. like Coffee beans or BACHA koffee.

★ 8.0Solo Traveller

For such a star-rated hotel and the amount paid for breakfast, it was truly miserable, worse than some of smaller rural hotels in Malaysia.

★ 8.0Extended Group

Moreover, breakfast takes place in a dark and dirty place, there is no service, for a so-called 5-star hotel this is disappointing.

★ 5.0Family with Children

A very negative point was the breakfast: instead of a buffet, a pathetic and cold breakfast was served in the room..

★ 8.0Couple

The breakfast is just horrible, several people have already reported it on this page and nothing seems to change.

★ 5.0Family with Children

Since there are many Arabs in the hotel, this aspect should be considered because we mostly request kids' meals.

★ 10.0Family with Children

Little to choose from and as a result skipped the last couple of days and bought breakfast out.

★ 8.0Couple

While it was convenient to have our breakfast delivered to our unit, the selection was limited and awful.

★ 8.0Family with Children

The breakfast was disgusting, one of the worst I have ever eaten, we just went elsewhere every morning

★ 3.0Couple

I am a vegetarian and there was ham on my overcooked eggs so I couldn't eat it.

★ 7.0Family with Children

I booked with breakfast but when I arrived there they said unfortunately the restaurant is closed

★ 5.0Family with Children

The breakfast is mostly Malaysian or Chinese; I wish there was more variety in the breakfast.

★ 10.0Family with Children

Breakfast consists of limited quantity meals that are not enough, and the choices are few.

★ 9.0Family with Children

Even though breakfast was included we didn’t eat there again after the first morning.

★ 7.0Family with Children

Breakfast was in the neighboring hotel, close by. The breakfasts were very good.

★ 10.0Couple

The quality of the food was poor and not a lot of variety.

★ 7.0Family with Children

We went for breakfast and it was the worst breakfast ever...No choice.

★ 1.0Family with Children

Another inconvenience is the breakfast place is a building block away.

★ 10.0

Please improve your quality and more choices even restaurant tgh renovations

★ 10.0Extended Group

Therefore, we had to use the nearby restaurant for breakfast.

★ 9.0Family with Children

I had a fried chicken with noodles for breakfast.

★ 8.0Family with Children

The restaurant is a poor reflection of the hotel.

★ 6.0Family with Children

Very good coffee and orange juice, good food.

★ 8.0Couple

I find the variety to be slightly underwhelming.

Facilities: What guests say

View Ascott Kuala Lumpur

125 relevant reviews

Guests often praise the clean, spacious facilities, pools, gym, sky lounge, kitchens, nearby grocery stores, and convenient laundry. Recurring drawbacks include dated facilities, unreliable Wi-Fi, paid laundry far from rooms with malfunctioning machines, inconsistent hot water, broken AC or heating, limited elevators, no hotel restaurant, and accessibility shortcomings.

The facilities at the Ascott are decent: lap pool that is slightly longer than 25 meters, a decent gym (though missing some key equipment like a rower, and a dual pulley), and a tennis court (free, but in poor condition).

★ 10.0Friends Getaway

The balcony is not really something you can use - one needs to call front desk and have a member of staff come up every time one wants to open or close the balcony door.

★ 8.0Couple

When I checked in, I was informed that breakfast was in a building near the reception at the entrance of the apartments, but I didn't go for breakfast, so I can't evaluate it.

★ 9.0Family with Children

I liked the location next to the towers, the luxury of the apartment, and the nice facilities including an adults' pool on the 22nd floor and a children's pool nearby.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The drinking water is from a small tap designated for drinking water in the kitchen next to the tap for cleaning dishes, they don't bring water bottles every day

★ 8.0Family with Children

The place was infested with cockroaches (found them in the bathroom sink and wardrobe closet) and the microwave was so dirty that we dared not to use.

★ 4.0Extended Group

We are still being asked to pay for the washing when our clothes were bathing in dirty water at the bottom of the washing machines.

★ 5.0Family with Children

Very high security; I even left a small bag in the lobby and forgot it there, and it had important personal items in it.

★ 9.0Extended Group

Whether you’re there to relax or looking for a bit of adventure, there are various activities to choose from, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

★ 10.0Couples

When asked the hotel staff , they were apologetic but said the machine is under another vendor and not under the hotel maintenance???!!!!!

★ 6.0Family with Children

Looks like management need to put more money into preventative maintenance eg at least 4 washing machines had faults and balconies were dirty.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The wifi was terrible for the first 4 days, with many interruptions that made it difficult to even make video calls.

★ 8.0Solo Traveller

Facilities looked great but didn’t get a chance to use any as we were out and about most of the time.

★ 8.0Couple

Laundromat did not dry clothes and we had to rund several rounds, but the clothes did not get dry.

★ 7.0Family with Children

We didn't expect to be charged to use shared washing machines in a high end apartment hotel.

★ 8.0Solo Traveller

WiFi connection was not strong in the bedrooms, however, it was rectified promptly once feedback was given.

★ 9.0Family with Children

Internet was slow, had to call tech help desk to get it sorted after some time.

★ 8.0Family with Children

Near the reception at the ground floor, there are no WC. That's the only pity.

There is no washing machine in the apartment like their branch around the world...

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say

View Ascott Kuala Lumpur

80 relevant reviews

Check-in is often slow and disorganized: guests repeatedly report rooms unavailable or unready at arrival, waits of 2–3+ hours, queues, key-card problems, and inconsistent staff communication. Some guests experienced quick check-in/out, flexible early arrival or late departure, and helpful receptionists. Business travelers specifically report difficulty obtaining invoices and unresolved requests.

I complained on the 3rd day that while I had been away since 9 am my room was only starting to be serviced when I walked in at 5 pm, since then for the next 5 days housekeeping would show up at 9 am to clean and ring the bell regardless of the privacy signs being up.

★ 6.0Family with Children

This time I paid to booking.com when I made the booking as booking.com offered some discounts but it seems that the property (or the front desk officer) was not well aware of the discrepancy between the payment amount and the actual amount charged by the property due to the discount.

★ 7.0Family with Children

Our requirements changed from the original booking. It was difficult overcome this. This was in part because I did not book directly with hotel, partly due lack of availability of suitable accommodation and also in part due to language differences

★ 9.0Family with Children

I only have one observation: the slow procedures for entry are a bit annoying and they should be more flexible, for example, allowing travelers to enter one or two hours before the check-in time, especially if the rooms are ready.

★ 9.0Couple

Need more control by the bellboy- not to allow any car or transport waiting for too long at the front without any customer as it will disturb others who are ready to go or ready to load their bags.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The receptionist charged me first before telling me that he had forgotten that he only had one smoking room left, and I was with my children, and since it was late, I still accepted it despite that.

★ 9.0Family with Children

I had an emergency and needed to go back to country, I told them I wanted to check out 2 days before and I asked for at least one night refund they rejected my request

★ 8.0Family with Children

Excellent value for the price we paid and we paid an extra half day as our flight was late at night and the hotel was relaxed that we stayed until 8pm (rather than 6pm).

★ 8.0Couple

There was also no offer to give us a late check out until I asked but it seems that it wasn't keyed into the system until I went to the counter in the evening.

★ 5.0Family with Children

You come at the check-in time but the room is not ready - they let you wait for more than 2 hours then they give you a different room from the one you booked

★ 2.0Family with Children

Special thanks go to the lady at the reception: we were supposed to check in at 14 o' clock but the Lady was so nice to give us the room 2 hours earlier.

★ 9.0Couple

However, after checking out for a few days to visit other locations and returning to the hotel, I was disappointed to know that only a room on the 14th floor was available.

★ 6.0Family with Children

There's no signages at the drop off area itself and it did not look like it was Ascott because the frontage visibility was some restaurant, convenience store, unlabelled lifts that look residential.

★ 8.0Extended Group

Check in was fast - which we appreciated but in the afternoon, reception called us up through the room phone and told us to go down and pay for our stay.

★ 4.0None

Work of Bellboy can be improved especially during check out time when most customers going out and waiting for their transport or the transport waiting for customers to come.

★ 9.0Family with Children

I booked 10 months ahead but on arrival (approx 7pm), check in took extra time because they were trying to find me a "clean room". That seemed unorganised.

★ 9.0Solo Traveller

I feel as if the lady just fobbed us off because she couldn’t be bothered to check if our room was ready after a 18 hour flight.

★ 5.0Couple

The lady who checked us in did not brief us about any special SOP for the usage of the pool or even suggesting for breakfast.

★ 8.0Partner

I waited 2 plus hours to enter the room after checking in as the room cleaning hadn't finished when we arrived at 3.

★ 5.0Family with Children

Upon my initial check-in, I was informed by the front desk staff that a room on the 23rd floor was assigned for me.

★ 6.0Family with Children

I have repeatedly requested an invoice required for my business travel reimbursement, yet I have received no response from the property.

★ 1.0Couple

And when we asked for a slightly late check out to perform our afternoon prayer, they easily allowed it too.

★ 9.0Family with Children

Unfortunately, the complete lack of response after multiple requests has left me very dissatisfied with the overall experience.

★ 1.0Couple

Check in extremely slow, crowded But process too slow, queqe number 5th took an hour with 3 counters.

★ 2.0

The manager approved it but repeatedly I said to confirm booking.com but it was not done.

★ 5.0Family with Children

The lack of communication has caused significant delays and unnecessary complications in my reimbursement process.

★ 1.0Couple

Staff were trying their best but were obviouly not ready to handle the problems.

★ 6.0Family with Children

Just hope that the check in and check out process could be speedier.

★ 10.0Family with Children

★ 10.0Couples

The rooftop pool, mainly on floors 21–22, is repeatedly praised for spectacular city and Petronas Tower views, spacious areas, multiple pools, a lap section, jacuzzi, and children’s pool. However, recurring complaints mention cold water, dirt, slime or mould, slippery tiles, limited or no pool service, and an atmosphere resembling an ordinary condominium pool.

We choose the hotel cause of the rooftop pool, yet you won’t feel comfortable using it, since there are guest an outside guest eating right next to the pool and watching you.

★ 2.0Couples

The clincher was the pool on the 22nd floor- fabulous-we used it first thing in the morning and when returning from sight seeing.

★ 8.0Couple

That was a kind of a disappointment as you would expect to have the beverages service to be part of the pool/hotel experience.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The pool did not look well maintained and had slime in it which meant we weren't comfortable using it.

★ 5.0Family with Children

I'm just not satisfied with the poll what was advertised on the roof top pictured from other ASCOTT

...the infinity pool if it exists was in an executive area we did not have access to...

★ 5.0Couple

The pool and sky lounge do not have a bar or beverages service on the 22nd floor.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The pool area was just mediocre, it’s not staffed, and the ambience felt like a condominium pool.

The only regret was that we did not have time to ... use the pool.

Restaurant: What guests say

View Ascott Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant facilities are a recurring weakness: many guests report no in-house restaurant, with breakfast moved to an adjacent building during renovation. The outside venue is often described as small, limited, or ordinary, while room service can be unavailable or very slow. Nearby dining is convenient, and some praise the food and Ramadan sahoor delivery.

Their restaurant was under renovation so we had to go to another restaurant in the next building. Very limited spread and not too many options. They didn’t provide a take away cup for tea or coffee. You had to consume everything inside the restaurant.

★ 8.0Family with Children

But there’s an odour of something at the entrance to the restaurant that we didn’t like which was there every time for the last 6 breakfast visits.

★ 9.0Family with Children

The advert made it look like the hotel had a restaurant, a bar and an infinity pool with a great view of the Petronas towers.

★ 5.0Couple

The restaurant is the worst, they should change the catering company, the hotel is 5 star but the restaurant is 1 star only.

★ 8.0Family with Children

It will be better to have a proper dining area/restaurant to serve breakfast or dine in considering the brand that you are carrying.

★ 6.0Family with Children

Breakfast is served in a restaurant that is outside the hotel, it is quite limited in variety and the space is small.

★ 9.0Couple

The restaurant was closed with the excuse of Covid, although all shopping malls and restaurants in the city are open!!

★ 7.0Couple

The Wip on the Park restaurant where one had to go for breakfast due to the hotel's renovation work.

★ 9.0Family with Children

No food in the hotel and no room service beyond 4 PM as the restaurant closes at 4 PM

★ 1.0Couple

The restaurant La Bodega in the hotel can do a lot better in terms of quality and choices.

★ 9.0Family with Children

To our great surprise, we found out on the day of arrival that the restaurant was closed.

★ 9.0Couple

I found some gems of restaurants- Mandarin Oriental for breakfast, Aliraqi for lunch and Marinis for dinner.

★ 9.0Family with Children

Breakfast was served in the WIP restaurant, located outside the building about fifty meters away.

★ 8.0Solo Traveller

Restaurant is okay (reason for score markdown) enough food options but a bit run down.

★ 8.0Family with Children

Since it’s currently Ramadan, I especially loved that the hotel delivers food for sahoor.

★ 10.0Couples

The restaurant is not what I would expect from a 5 star labelled hotel.

★ 8.0Family with Children

The food is all Chinese food with no consideration to other ethnic people.

★ 3.0Family with Children

The service was also very slow as I had to call multiple times.

★ 3.0Family with Children

★ 9.0Family with Children

Parking: What guests say

Parking is the dominant complaint: guests report narrow, insufficient spaces and difficult access, with some family cars sustaining door damage. Parking is generally charged around RM10 per entry or exit, despite earlier or advertised complimentary parking; validation rules can lead to higher fees. A few guests found parking convenient, but lighting, lift-door maintenance, attendants, and service were criticized.

Not much parking space and the attendant was very rude accusing me that i needed to pay for my parking as the complimentary one was used already (which i did not!!).

★ 8.0Family

Car park charges are RM 6 per day if you validate your touch-n-go card at hotel reception, otherwise normal charges will be applied

★ 8.0Family
