Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur Reviews: Everything Guests Say

It is in the heart of KL and walking distance, through an elevated tunnel to Pavilion mall and all the activities and eateries of this area and views of the Petronas, yet very quiet.

Not only it has all you expect from a 5 star, but everyone is so professional without making you feel too awkward by being super polite, as it happens to many 5 stars.

It was a luxurious experience, the service was out of this world and the entire property just felt really safe with a super nice view from the room.

Offered us to upgrade for a fee and when i asked for free upgrade based on my platinium status, they said the hotel is fully booked.

I'm now trying to engineer ways in which I can return to Kuala Lumpur and visit the Banyan Tree once again.

We liked the building and our room (spacious, great views), the complimentary aromatherapy set, and the staff were great too.

This is our 2nd stay with the Banyan Tree brand and we were equally impressed as the Macao property.

Everything was perfect ! highly recommend to stay at the Banyan Tree when you are in KL ;-)

Although one of the pricier properties in KL, the exclusive feel of this hotel justifies the little extra.

All in all, a much needed break for my Mrs and myself and the experience was very good.

A nice hotel, but not necessarily worth the extra cost compared to other options in central KL.

Had a great stay and really enjoyed the spa facilities and the excellent restaurant and bars.

But overall it's a very positive experience and would definitely go back again for the stay.

This property is run like a small boutique hotel with attention to detail and personal attention.

From the moment we arrived we were questioning whether we had been mistaken for celebrities!!

I've stayed at many hotels and this has made every other experience feel mediocre.

If I could give this a higher rating than 5 stars I really would.

The hotel is great but the rooftop bar is out of this world.

This establishment has truly redefined what a 5 star experience is for me.

An excellent base for our time on business and exploring the city.

I can recommend the Banyan Tree and come back in a heartbeat.

The ambience of the hotel is amazing and the staff so helpful.

The views from the Vertigo bar are the cherry on top.

Awesome hotel to unwind and relax

Every aspect has exceeded our expectations.

The room had been decorated for us with birthday balloons and a piece of cake each - this was totally unexpected but such a nice touch.

The only bad experience is that the room takes a long time to cool down if the air conditioner is shut down due to vacancy.

The walls sound proof don’t seems very good, i can heat the lift ‘tinkle’ very clearly and the ‘tinkle’ sound is actually quite soft.

So for those of us who walk around without our shoes or slippers, we could feel the sand on the floor.

Lots of little attentions in the room (essential oil, yoga mat, smart toilet - scared me at first!).

The room has the best views, a spacious bath, high ceilings, and a clean toilet, making it comfortable.

The room was very spacious together with the toilet and there was even a toto washlet toilet bowl!

The Retreat room is a really treat with lots of great touches and a epic shower room.

If there are ten things to do to a room, they only did a few each time.

The hotel is very thoughtful to prepare all amenities which you possibly needed for the stay.

Being assigned a room on the 55th floor, I had breathtaking view of the city.

When entering the room we wanted to use our private pool in the room.

However, we could not feel save as the cables of the lamp were visible.

Eg: I needed bath bombs, they have bath powder ready beside the bath tub.

The KL tower and the city view added a memorable experience, especially at night.

I was impressed with the toilet, spent my sweet time experimenting the buttons.

The bath tub is of high quality and it's big enough for 2.

We were very unhappy with this hotel in regards of room condition.

The room was very spacious and I loved the bathtub and bathroom.

If you are light sleeper, ask for rooms further away the lift.

Bath room is huge, love the oval shape bathtub and rain shower!

We love our hotel room where the views were simply breathtaking.

The standard room is huge with amazing views of Kuala Lumpur.

Superb room with enormous well appointed bathroom and walk in shower.

Used towels were cleared away but new towels were not replenished.

It didn’t go away even after they came up to clean.

The sheets and pillowcases were also not changed daily.

Especially the quality of the bed and pillow.

The room was also not vacuumed.

Beautiful room and fabulous bathroom.

The staff were really accommodating when we wanted to watch the sunrise on the roof, something I highly recommend doing.

Big shout out to Joshua, who repeatedly went the extra mile to ensure we had the best experience.

And huge thanks to Helmi, who completely saved our holiday when we left our passports in a taxi.

Staff on the whole were very friendly and welcoming, particularly those on reception and at breakfast.

The staff was very friendly and offered so many recommendations for places to eat and shop.

The warm attitude of the staff who patiently engaged with my halting English was appreciated!

Despite the CMCO restrictions, the staff there were approachable and they rendered their services professionally.

The staff are caring professionals and many helped me sought out travel routes and questions.

So were the chefs who asked if we would like our Danish pastries warmed up.

Super fantatsic service and level of attention, even to the minute details inside the room

Especially Mr. Hakim@Horizontal Grill, he is polite and helpful, always a smiling face.

Emily at the front desk also helped me with an unexpected business issue.

The level of service and care, from every member of staff, was astounding.

So we were very unhappy with this hotel in regards of service.

Only problem is the staff at breakfast forgot to put our order.

Just wish they could hold their promise with the check in time

The Banyan Tree is a great option for anyone travelling to KL on holiday, due to its convenient location.

The location was very strategic with easy access to the Pavilion Mall via the link bridge on level 2.

The hotel has a walkway to the mall across the street with excellent shopping and dining choices.

It is conveniently connected directly to Pavilion Shopping Center, making it easy to visit Bukit Bintan.

The location opposite the Pavilion shopping mall and near other attractions is really good.

A much easier spot for car drop offs than other hotels near Bukit Bintang.

However there is now a building that's come up which blocks that promised view.

Absolutely, Banyan Tree KL is a beautiful hotel in the center of Kuala Lumpur.

Full-on views of Petronas Twin Towers and far more of the KL skyline.

Near to KLCC, Petronas Towers and with adjustment to Pavilion Shopping Mall.

The location of the hotel is good, access to different malls.

On the pictures through hotels.com the two towers are perfectly visible.

Well located for access to the main areas of Kuala Lumpur.

The breakfast and food were pretty good as well and it was definitely worth the price for the stay if you are looking for something more luxurious.

We wait more than half hour the food didn't come so I had to cancel my order.

Breakfast choices are reasonable, and come with free Prosecco and great view of the twin towers!

So were the chefs who asked if we would like our Danish pastries warmed up.

The spread was reasonably wide, a good mixture of local and Western array.

We had better in a hotel in Chinatown for half the price.

The breakfast was somewhat disappointing - both in variety and taste.

The waitress was very attentive with our coffee and hot water.

On a positive note, we liked the buffet breakfast served.

The breakfast is good too and located on sky deck!

Shouldn’t happen in a 5 Star Hotel like Banyan Tree!

The only slight negative is breakfast which is confused (waiters getting orders muddled) and it’s not particularly appetising, although if you like pastries you won’t be disappointed!

Also, while Vertigo does have the views, the cocktails are just not great - again, the cocktail bars in Chinatown offer better and more creative drinks.

They said they will have to sort out the customers before deciding if we could take the spot.

The five of us arrived at The Altitude at 3.00 pm and were promptly seated.

Made a reservation but they did not let me take the good spot.

There were tables which was empty and I requested for the seat.

By then, our coffee, tea and hot chocolate had turned cold.

Ordered satay and it came after 30 min or more.

Coffee, tea and hot chocolate orders arrived within 10 minutes.

The three serving categories were also served 20 minutes apart.

Vertigo bar is a must and very reasonably priced.

Don’t miss Vertigo Bar on level 58 and above.

Food was amazing and we absolutely loved their breakfast.

And that table was still empty when I left.

Hi Tea however came as a major disappointment.

The first serving only came at 3.45 pm.

However, the downside was the Vertigo Bar.

And they never came back to me.

Elevators are far from each other requires guest to keep moving around to find which one is coming a center monitor can solve the problem

The small number of rooms is great as it prevents the pool and breakfast from getting crowded.

I could enjoy both the pool and meals with the best views from the upper floors.

Rooftop bar is fantastic with great views of the Petronas towers.

The breakfast French toast and yogurt with honeycomb are too delicious.

The amenities

53rd floor pool and restaurants on 53, 58, and 59 are amazing.

The pool is amazing too and was empty.

There is a nice pool.

The spa was relaxing and moderately priced.

Really enjoyed the spa facilities

Was disappointed they couldn't give me my room on time

So we checked in two hours later.
