Guests repeatedly describe modern, clean, peaceful accommodation with very spacious, well-equipped rooms, friendly staff, strong family suitability, and good value, often saying they would return. Recurring drawbacks include renovation or maintenance notices, a closed pool, walking distance to shopping, extra costs, and occasional concerns about price, location, or cleanliness.

If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient, and high-quality stay in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, I would highly recommend this hotel.
The rooms were a bit expensive considering the area and also because it's a service apartment and not a five star hotel.
The price was rather high compared to similar apartments in the area, but we were aware of that before we booked.

We as family had an excellent stay at this hotel, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur.
I will recommend this apartment to others if they do not mind a bit of walking to the shopping mall.
Very clean , supprted staff and happy faces , very good place , good breakfast not to much variaty

Only 1 night for me, but this place could easily be your home from home whilst in Kuala Lumpur.
Overall, the experience in Ascott Sentral was overwhelming, and it's certainly the most memorable one for our entourage.
We have stayed on a number of occasions and prefer Ascot to any other hotfel/apartnent we have experienced.

There’s always some notice of maintenance work going on, but it didn’t affect us or our stay.
Since my extended family live within 20 minutes by car, I would stay at the Ascott again.
Otherwise not much to report other than excellent facilities and a good price in a central location.

Overall, the Family Suite was definitely worth the money, with its generous space and excellent amenities.
I went to JB and came back to KL.. booking it again as my first choice.
Property so neat and clean and beautiful location, staff members are so friendly and respectful.

Was so good, we rebooked the property on our way back during our road trip.
The building is modern and well-maintained, with very large rooms equipped with all comforts.
This hotel, along with its fantastic team, made our time in KL truly memorable.

Everything are perfect and we are looking forward to stay at property
Five Star luxury accommodation at decent price and a lot more space
Best. When coming to KL I will always book this hotel.

I will stay here again if I go to KL.
All in all a great stay, thank you very much!
It’s a nice modern hotel for a short stay.

The prices offered during my stay were reasonable.
Able to accomodate the whole family was awesome.
Awesome place with all the amenities of home

Comfortable stay but there are additional costs
My family especially my kids loved it.
Lovely stay in a serviced suite.

Rooms: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur157 relevant reviews
Rooms are repeatedly described as exceptionally spacious, clean, comfortable mini-apartments with large beds, strong showers, city views, and well-equipped kitchens including refrigerators, microwaves, cookware, and sometimes washing machines. Recurring drawbacks include noisy air-conditioning, occasional bathroom or apartment odors, poor soundproofing, disruptive doorbells, and one reported leak; a minority found rooms old and damp.

Was given a room of which practically there is no view to speak of, as the window was just at a small little corner of the room, which looks nothing like that shown in the photos.
At last, managed to get 2 bed premier room at 11.45pm… after the staffs change the blanket but did not properly clean… no dust vaccum and found some dust and finger print in several areas.
The ambience was modern and comfortable, and the large glass windows offered a beautiful view of the city, especially at night when the lights from passing vehicles and illuminated buildings created a vibrant scene.

The room size is value for money i agree - the kitchenette of stove, microwave, fridge, laundry machine is fantastic as this location is close to malls and little india.
One other comment is that the air-con in the room can be quite loud but otherwise, housekeeping was good and air-con was working well!
The room consists of a bedroom, space with a desk, a bathroom, a kitchen, and space with a sofa and a coffee table.

The first room I had on 15th floor is noisy sometimes but the room I had on 21st floor was much better.
The rooms were spacious and by the sink in the kitchenette there was a separate tap for drinking water.
Water pressure on the main overhead shower was low, but the multi shower set up was pretty good.

And I booked for premium room but was given executive room which was a lower category room
It is seriously a long time waiting in the toilet for the water to warm up.
The hand and body wash , shampoo and conditioner was moisturising and nice scents

I was given with 2 split room although it was promised a connecting room.
Rooms were luxurious with well equipped kitchen and very comfortable bed and pillows.
The 2 bedroom apartment was big and had a washer drier machine.

Good location, comfortable bed, 3 different showers strong and consistent temperature
It was changed without problems, but still dissapoined at the fact.
Despite this we enjoyed our trip and liked our room.

A little hard to find tissues around the room.
The room so spacious and beyond in our expectation.
Bathrobes and umbrella provided which was so useful

Very spacious studio with all amenities I needed.
First night their were no extra duvet cover
There was no light for about 15 seconds.

Very nice studios with loads of space.
The layout of the room is great,
I even can cook simple dinner.

Large room (larger than we expected)
Plenty of space in room.
Room was ready upon arrival.

The hotel’s strongest feature is its location: typically a 5–15-minute walk to KL Sentral, KLIA Express, NU Sentral mall, Little India, restaurants, and public transport. Guests find it convenient for exploring Kuala Lumpur and airport connections. Recurring drawbacks are confusing directions, open-air walks, traffic, hills, narrow paths, and longer walks with luggage.

The building is situated in a central location, just a 5 minutes walk to the shopping mall NU Sentral and the Sentral station, which is situated inside the shopping mall (there is train, metro and bus), so it is very easy to move around and especially to go to the airport.
The location just 5 minutes by foot from Nu Sentral the Mall with lots's of retail and F & B choices but a bit further away from the train station and using a taxi or hail ride if advisable if you have luggage.
I thought the location of the hotel was a little difficult to walk around as there was much traffic and it was a little difficult to get to the nearest Metro station as it’s up a long hill and narrow walkway.

Hotel is walking distance from KL Sentral although it was a bit hard to find the signs in the station and I had to ask the reception from another hotel nearby how to get to the Ascott.
While the location isn't exactly most convenient as it is a 10-15 minute walk to KL Sentral (through Nu Sentral mall), they have a hotel shuttle that only does drop-offs, which was most helpful!
We loved the location which was right at the heart of Kuala Lumpur and near all the good Indian places in town and a very good shopping mall, NU Sentral, nearby.

I not able to locate the hotel for nearly 45mins to an hour & got catch in a rain, at last I had to go to the funeral with my luggage.
Not so close to the night life of KL and the choices around are limited to Indian - which I personally like, but not for every time I go out.
Location perfect, lots of local street food available but if that isn’t your cup of tea, KL Sentral mall is 5 minutes away with lots of alternative restaurants.

Around 450 meters away from Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station and 350 meters away from Nu Sentral Mall which is also connected to the station.
Getting Grab car from this hotel is quite easy to get (as early as 7am and peak hour at 7pm).
Hotel is next to Shell office building, hence you will see many Shell staff staying at the hotel.

That was our situation (we needed to move by train a few times during our stay).
The place also nearby the NU Sentral so we can just walk to go for dinner.
Great location and within walking distance of the KL Sentral train station and many restaurants.

NU Sentral has lots of food options and a wide variety of shops.
Walking distance from the Sentral train station, shopping centre and little india
Indian food was easily available as it is in Little India area.

This property is 5 mins walk from NU Sentral Shopping Center.
Shopping is convenient, and there are plenty of dining options.
Location is very convinient, 5mins walk to KL Sentral Station

I like it as its a familiar route for me.
The location is convenient right next to the sentral station.
It is very convenient for getting around Kuala Lumpur.

Prorperty is well located, minutes away from KL Sentral.
Easy walk to sentral station facilities, mall and eateries....
Easy 5-10 min walk to Sentral train station.

Great location, beautiful apartments with lots of space.
Where we had the most delicious Hokien Mee.
Great location, very close to KL sentral

Staff: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur117 relevant reviews
Staff are overwhelmingly described as friendly, helpful, professional, and welcoming, especially at reception, with repeated praise for Raziq, Umi, Fathiyah, and Ayman. Guests highlight flexible early check-in, late checkout, upgrades, emergency help, and thoughtful service. However, some requests were not accommodated, children faced breakfast access issues, luggage assistance was lacking, and service could be inconsistent.

For instance, there were some issues in the bathroom (hot water in the shower and the sink was not draining properly), so I completed the form found in the room for these matters and dropped it at the reception: the hotel very quickly sent their repairpeople and they fixed everything.
The people at the reception are really nice and answered all my questions about getting a local Sim card, where to find the tourist bus and how to go to the Batu Caves (you can take the Komuter train at NU Sentral station for only 3 RM!).
She asked us to show the voucher even after showing the voucher and explaining to her she called the hotel reception Mr Abidin who denied that we are supposed to get 3 breakfast per room.

They even allowed me to make short overseas call to Singapore landline number from the Front Desk as the room phone is not able to make oversea calls.
The staff wasn't surprise from my complain, they knew exactly they got a problem and they suggested to open the kitchen fan and sleep with that on,
Who denied us breakfast for 3 people per room even though we choose and paid extra for 3 adults with breakfast per room for 3 rooms.

Very helpful and nice staff, in the morning when there was a heavy rain, they drove me to KL Sentral so I do not get wet
Even breakfast attendant was calling reception and saying these guests are Babi punya orang and that we bring 20 people when only breakfast for 2.
It has been a very pleasant stay with Ascott Sentral largely due to the friendly and attentive customer service by Ms Natasha and Ms Christine.

The maintenance staff really tried their very best to ensure the problem with the air-conditioning and dryer (that caused an electrical trip) were settled.
And more disappointed they want charges another RM400 for blanket because that have some water from rose is on blanket and hard to remove.....
Personnel is quite far and especially when I had a lot of luggage, trying to find somebody help, nobody was at the reception.

The reception was extremely very friendly , helpful, the cleaning personall was super and friendly, and not forgetting the luggage personal too.
Umi noticed that we were tired and she took the initiative to show us the way up to our hotel room.
Reception staff asking for EXTRA RM100 for cleaning service because it is so dirty ( flowers + ballons )

I would rank him as no1 in Malaysia so far for his courtesy assisting my family.
Service: Everyone was very accommodating even if we checked-in and out during uncivilized hours.
5 stars for his service, 5 stars for reception staff, patient and courteous.

Cleaning was very good and reception staff members very friendly and helpful.
Whenever I call someone to do something, they will come quite quick.
One of the highlights of our stay was the outstanding service.

The receptionist went above and beyond to accommodate our needs
I had to get reception staff to decipher it.
It a warm hospitality and i like it

All the staff were helpful and knowledgeable.
Staff are friendly n very helpful.
Caring hotel staffs- Umi and Raziq.

Reception staff were friendly and excellent.
A special thanks to miss Farah.
Staff are very helpful and efficient.

Breakfast: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur64 relevant reviews
Breakfast is the most repeated weakness: guests describe limited variety, small portions, basic or cold food, and quality below four- or five-star expectations. It is outsourced and served in a neighboring building, sometimes difficult to find. Some guests enjoyed the buffet, made-to-order omelets, croissants, and Malaysian, Indian, and continental choices.

Mainly European continental breakfast however for the price you save from this breakfast you can walk to NU central and have a multitude of dining options to suit your tastebuds
We also liked breakfast buffet with quite rich options, but it is located in the next building and we were struggling a little bit how to get there.
Only the breakfast doesn't have a lot of variety, but the food is tasteful and with a mix of local (nasi lemak) and western foods (eggs and toast).

The breakfast buffet is very limited maybe due to no. of pax occupancy per day as well as the price is relatively match the spread given RM 29+.
My main issue which I unsuccessfully reviewed with Booking.com is that in my booking breakfast was included, The info from booking.com to Ascott did NOT include breakfast.
The breakfast, which is provided by a third party, is very limited and it did not have anything particularly appropriate for people with dietary restrictions.

It’s outsourced to a small business called Meals and they are located on the 5th floor via a small connected tunnel to another building.
Cost: We booked our room for 4 nights at a total cost of about 300 USD, and is already inclusive of breakfast for two.
Coffee capsules were limited to 2 per check in which was not enough for 2 days stay, need to pay if need extra

The breakfast spread was delicious, offering a nice mix of traditional Malaysian dishes, Indian items, and continental options to cater to different tastes.
However, they do change up the hot food options daily so if you stay for multiple days you’ll have a bit of variety.
By the way their breakfast is provided by some 3rd party cafe and has very limited food cold, no variety, with flies.

Breakfast time, I have to walk to different building and there is no sign, I have to asked someone near by.
I didn't find the breakfast particularly inspiring but I like to walk out for breakfast anyway so it didn't matter.
Breakfast is very average and there is no room service but there are plenty of Grabfood options in the area.

I particularly liked breakfast nearby at a place called Lizzie's which is about five minutes walk from the hotel.
However, since you are serving breakfast and you claim to be a 4-star establishment, you should improve your breakfast.
Will definitely stay here again but without the breakfast, easier to go nearby and grab something to eat.

Breakfast is simple but okay as it is having no full hotel service, and you know in advance.
Next time I will go here and if there is an option without breakfast, I will choose that.
The biggest downside was the breakfast, it was not great at all with very very limited options.

The breakfast buffet was lacking a bit, there weren’t many options to pick from on the day.
The breakfast buffet could be better as very localized but there are plenty of outlets nearby.
The hotel is ranked 5 starts, but the breakfast is poor, not even one star.

Don’t bother with the breakfast option - the hotel/apartment does not cater for it.
Breakfast is just ok, not much variety but acceptable except for the fruits.
One main disappointment is the breakfast, which was more functional than expected.

This is more what you would expect from a cheaper hotel.
We loved their croissants and pain au chocolat.
Breakfast offers a small but adequate offering.

Facilities: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur41 relevant reviews
Guests repeatedly praised the well-equipped kitchens, clean facilities, token-operated laundry, pools, gym, security, and quality amenities. Recurring drawbacks included mold in shower grout, noisy or ineffective air-conditioning, weak Wi-Fi, limited toiletries and supplies, faulty appliances, no room service, and occasional construction or access inconvenience. The pool was generally acceptable, though some noted updating was needed.

The washroom and shower showed a lot of signs of mold which was partially removed with several attempts of renovation but which rather focused on covering up the mold than looking professional.
The centralised air con is too noisy and the pest & odour control need to be improved too for the residential that have got the kitchen.
As it’s an apartment you have all the facilities you would expecting in a two bedroom apartment including kitchen with washing machine facilities.

Construction work in front of the hotel at the moment is abit inconvinient but in general doesnt impact much to our stay experience
I don' t know why they did not find out water leakage in room 2108, the people cleaning the room should see it.
There wasn't room service so you have to buy and store some snacks in your room or else you have to order outside.

I would’ve also liked a washer-dryer in the unit or on my floor instead of having to walk to a neighbouring building.
The house keeping maintenance need to be improved , e.g. the grout of the wall & floor tiles in shower got mould.
The safe deposit box in 1508 was out of order and the one living there before us did not report it.

They have a high tech beverage machine (Tao Bin brand) in the lobby which is amazing and very popular.
The electric kettle is a joke. It is so big and heavy but can only boil a little water.
Security wise, I liked the fact that guests need to tap in after 8pm to access the lobby.

The TV picture qualities are also not good, besides, there are not many channels. mainly Malay and Indian.
I liked that they had a washer and dryer in a common area in a neighbouring building.
The hotel facilities were also impressive, with a well-maintained swimming pool and gym on the 5th floor.

The kitchen is better than most homes and properly equipped appropriate cookware to make most meals correctly.
Amenities: Fully equipped kitchen, with a full size refrigerator, double burner induction cookers and an oven.
The gym is superb full of equipment for oneself to get a good workout.

All facilities needed for a comfortable stay in a small studio flat allowing independence.
Better in some locations in the room, but I believe it should be better.
Toiletries was only give for 1 pax despite having 2 pax in the room.

Even simple items like coffee powder and plain water bottle were given as limited.
For the toiletries they have mostly paraben-free products and an excellent lip balm.
The amenities are top notch, fantastic quality and their lip balm is amazing!!!!

But did see notice that said it was away to undergo maintenance,
Decoration was beautiful, and it had become the best memorable event.
Clean, comfortable, really good facilities as mentioned in the website.

The pool was acceptable for a good relaxed dip.
Studio Apartment was great and good facilities
The temperature won't go below 25 degrees.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur32 relevant reviews
Check-in and checkout are usually smooth, quick, and handled by friendly, helpful staff, with several guests receiving early check-in or extended checkout. However, room readiness can be inconsistent, including waits exceeding two hours. Some disliked repetitive QR forms, while late checkout could incur fees; one guest reported a missing promised cot and an unexpected cleaning charge.

That QR thing you scan during check in at reception asked waaaay to many questions for info that I have already given when I signed up on booking.com / agoda can't remember which site.
Staff at the counter should have mentioned this when checking in so we would make sure towels not discarded onto the sink and would be used for another day.
Does it mean the prior guest check out at 4plus pm? Then why is the check out time stipulated as around noon then for most other people?

Also upon the check-in I was asked to scan a QR code and fill a form which is inconvenient - the receptionist could have done it.
Suddenly when check out reception staff asking for EXTRA RM100 for cleaning service because it is so dirty ( flowers + ballons )
Only difficulty was our request to check out at 2 pm - because we had two flights beginning at KLIA after 7 pm.

Asked for a different room, was told need to wait until 5pm if needed a change as it was back to back.
We arrived around noon, and we were offered a first room while waiting for the second one around 3 PM.
We were also fortunate to have our checkout time extended, as probably hotel was not fully occupied during our stay.

We arrived at the the hotel around 6am when the check in time was supposed to be in the afternoon
I was promised a cot for my baby when I booked but it was not there when I checked in.
Although stayed 1 night only, the nice check-in experience with friendly smile and welcome drink made me feel comfortable.

Check in . We came off a 15 hour flight and had to wait in line to check in.
Hotel rsponse was after 1 pm we would be charged 1/2 day room fee for the one hour.
A group of us were chastised by check in staff and told to ’wait between the lines’

Could not tolerate anymore after 2 hours and checked out of hotel to stay in another hotel
Very friendly staff provided all property details upon check-in and answered all of our questions.
Very pleased that we were able to check in really early after an overnight flight.

We have to wait more than 2 hours for our room to be ready.
Or just have people fill out a form and place it in the box.
Courtesy for requesting late check out was not extended and would have been appreciated.

Check-in staff were very helpful and facilitated an early check-in . Thank you
I believe that self check-in is a bad practice and non client-oriented one.
The kind staff gave us a complimentary early check-in in the morning.

The sign-in list should be behind the counter accessible only by staff.
The check-in was a breeze for the 2 units of 2-Bedroom Suites.
This is the second time I checked in Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur.

The room was ready before official check in time (3pm).
Flexibility in check in and check out time.
I was able to checked in by 1.30pm.

Pool: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur22 relevant reviews
The pool area is generally well regarded, with a good-sized, often quiet pool, sunloungers, gym, outdoor pool and covered children’s pool; poolside stays open until 10 PM. However, water is repeatedly described as very cold, the pool has sometimes been closed throughout stays for maintenance, and some guests noted bird droppings and a need for refreshment.

On arrival the checkin staff told us it is closed on that day and will be reopened the next day due to maintenance.
However the next 2 days we got exactly the same excuse and were always told that the pool will reopen the coming day.
In fact we feel like we have been lied to all the time and the pool was not available for the whole time.

It was disappointing that the swimming pool was closed throughout the duration of my stay but this was a minor thing.
Our biggest complain is one of our main reasons to book this accommodation was the pool that we intended to use.
Its was a big disappointment to be treated like that, we would have preferred to receive this news at the beginning.

Pool was closed but seemed like they could have planned that better to not occur over weekend
The pool looked amazing, unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to try it.
There was an outdoor pool and a smaller covered wading pool.

There are bird poo in the chair at the swimming pool
My child got sick due to the coldness of the water.
Nice pool(s) and sunloungers and gym on floor 5.

Loved that the poolside was open until 10 PM.
Swim pool & gym relatively empty for my comfort.
Swim pool water is quite cold even at noon.

Swim pool is generally quiet, not too crowded.
- swimming pool was closed due to maintenance
Hotel has a good gym and swimming pool.

Swim pool water is a little cold/chilly.
The pool could do with a refresh
The swimming pool water is very cold.

Even adult could not take the coldness.
The swimming pool is also great.
Pool was closed all the stay

Possible heated pool, normal temperature water.
Pool & gym were pretty good.
Gym n pool are great.

The children pool is covered.
Pool area is nice.
Kids loved the pool.

Gym: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur14 relevant reviews
The gym is repeatedly described as good, decent, and well equipped, with varied training options. Guests also value the large outdoor and smaller indoor pools, which are often relatively quiet. One guest wanted barbells and a cable machine added, while gym showers were useful before check-in or late flights.

I was able to use showers at the gym to refreshen up, before my room was ready or before my late night flight.
I went to their Gym every day, if they would add some barbell and a cable machine, it would be perfect.
There is a gym and a big outdoor swimming pool plus a smaller indoor pool on the 5th floor.

I did not visit the gym room, so I can't comment on it.
Swim pool & gym relatively empty for my comfort.
Hotel has a good gym and swimming pool.

Lots of variety in terms of training
Also the gym was well equipped.
Pool & gym were pretty good.

Gym n pool are great.
The gym is quite good.

Parking: What guests say
View Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur10 relevant reviews
Parking is generally not free and costs about RM6 per day when a Touch ’n Go card is validated at reception; without validation, charges can become much higher. Guests repeatedly report narrow ramps and parking lanes, difficult maneuvering and loading luggage, unclear guest-bay signage, and parking located in another building via an inconvenient entrance.

Touch-n-go card must be validated at reception for RM 6 per day (I think that it's unlimited in & out per day, please check with reception)
Otherwise car park charges will be counted by hours with usual rate (charged me once at first time RM 13 for around 2 hrs)
It was a nightmare to go up and down the ramp each time without scratching the sides of even my mid sized car.

The joke is this complex is owned or leased by the oil giant SHELL (Menara Shell) which powers so many vehicles!
Maybe the architect imagines everyone to be an Antman and can shrink their car sizes when going up the ramp.
Parking payment can be upgraded as once you exit the parking lot, you need to have the card revalidated.

I wonder why the ramps to the carpark are so narrow in a new multi storey building.
Only thing I disliked was the building carpark which is not in Ascott's control though.
Pls make it clear which parking bays are meant for guests.

The entrance to parking is also quite narrow for big vehicles.
The entrance from parking is through Menara Shell...a bit inconvenient.
Hard to park and put bags in due to that.

Else you need to pay upwards of RM50.
No proper signage for guest parking.
I had to pay for parking.

The parking is in another building.
Parking is 6 myr per day
Narrow car park way

Parking area too narrow.
Parking is NOT free.
Expensive.

Tip - if you want to walk and have luggage with you, you can go directly from the train station to the Sentral shopping center, and from there you can reach the street that leads directly to the hotel.
Shuttle service to Sentral station where we were able to check our suitcases in and were issued with our boarding passes making for an easy and trouble free train trip to the airport and directly through customs.
It is not possible to use if you are not lucky enough to arrive or depart close to the scheduled time of the shuttle.

I know that you do, but from what I was told, this is only available twice or three times a day.
The Ascott also has a shuttle service if you want to use it for transport between the hotel/train station.
There were massive repair works ongoing on street level which made really uneasy to use taxis and grab cars.

The transportaion service from hotel to kl sentral train station, excellent, Mr Mururgan the driver was very accomodating.
It is very hard to find the entrance in evening especially no Asocct people in the gate.
Lastly, offering a shuttle service from KL Sentral to the hotel and vice versa would be great.

A shuttle was arranged to take us to the train station after check out.
So, it will be a plus if you want to rent a car.
SOCAR- the collection point is just beside the hotel (Menara Shell).

The free drop off shuttle was great value.
Also the shuttle is quite helpful!

There was no in house restaurants for meals so had to go out for a meals besides breakfast.
The F & B choices in the hotel is limited but well supplemented by the surroundings.
There is no restaurant in the hotel.
