Edsa Shangri-La, Manila Reviews: Everything Guests Say

We analysed 1,609 reviews of Edsa Shangri-La, Manila. 632 contained specific, relevant feedback about the hotel, which we’ve organised by topic so you can easily see what guests say about each aspect of the property.
To keep the analysis focused on useful insights, we excluded 977 reviews containing little or no specific feedback.

We had a nice stay, as usual, though we faced a minor glitch at the start since the room telephone was not working but the management was quick to address our concern and transferred us to another room.
I would rather stay at Cook County Jail than spend another night at this hotel if I am going to be treated as a criminal instead of a finance lawyer.
Always an amazing experience at this location. We keep coming back here because of the kind of service and hospitality that we constantly receive.

My dad worked on building this hotel as a construction manager in the 90s, and it still stands in all its glory.
Have stayed at this Shangri-la location for more than a decade and the atmosphere, ambiance and service has been consistently great.
I had a wonderful stay at ur hotel en i really appreciate all of your hardwork on my speacial day.

We recently stayed at the Edsa Shangri- La Manila, hotel for 3 days and we had an amazing experience!
While these were something that marred the otherwise impeccable stay, their people more than made up for it.
I’ve stayed at the Shangri-La Edsa hotel a few times now, and every stay has been amazing.

It still looks the same as it was 25 years ago when we started going there
Our stay at Edsa Shangri-La, Manila was a mixed experience, combining beautiful elements with an inc
It’s this personal attention and service that makes EDSA Shangri-la my family’s favorite Manila hotel!

Quite disappointed but all in all ok-ish because of decent choice of food and gym.
I truly enjoyed every part of my visit and will definitely be coming back.
Infact, we extended for another night to just relax and enjoy our stay ❤️

From day one to the last day, the service was just the best.
Our stay at the Shangri-La met our expectations and we had high expectations.
I truly appreciated the attention to cleanliness and quality throughout the stay.

But it would have been better if a takeaway is provided. 😁
We had a truly wonderful and memorable stay with my family.
We always look forward to coming back and staying at Shang.

Treat You Like a Criminal in this Dated House of Horrors
Thank you Shangri La Edsa! We will definitely be back again!
I don’t think it worth the money if you’ll stay here.

Overall service quality were at par with the worlds best.
I did not encounter any issues or areas for improvement — everything exceeded my expectations. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the cleanliness and service provided by the housekeeping staff, and I would gladly recommend this hotel based on the high standard of care they maintain.
We stayed at Edsa Shangri-La last August 5–8 for a company event, and I just have to say—of all the hotels we've stayed in for work, this one really left a mark on me because of the amazing housekeeping team.

Finally, the hotel engages in the outrageous practise of taking a deposit which is not a deposit... if it was one's final bill would be simply the difference between the deposit and the final total.
Instead, although the deposit is for the full amount, on the final day the full amount is again charged, with the promise that the deposit will be returned when the bank feels like it.
Still one of the best hotels internationally and certainly the best overall in Manila . Standards have been maintained throughout the years . Truly an oasis of paradise in a busy Manila city .

But the staff who stands out is Grace from the "Heat" dinning area..She is always cheerful and has a smiling face while taking our requests...During the dinning, just ask for her and rest assured, she will take care of all your needs and will remember the needs the next next day as well...
I would to thank Ms.Tess,Gil,Mark & Dave of Housekeeping Department for their being detail oriented and takes pride in maintaining cleanliness and proper room setup, contributing to a comfortable and pleasant guest experience. Their geniune smile and greetings gives a positive vibes.
We would like to thank also Ms. Angel of Heat for helping us feel comfortable and making sure we are eating well during our stay. She also remember our preferences from our previous stay which surprised me.

We stayed in 3 other hotels during our stay in Manila and we keep saying EDSA Shangila is not to be beat when it comes to customer experience, hospitality and friendliness of the staff.
She consistently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond by personally delivering a banana cake for us—such a sweet and thoughtful gesture!
The staff made me feel welcomed, and helped me with merging two bookings I had made because of some last minute changes I had to make to my travel schedule.

However they’ve called us at least 6 times a day to chase for the bill and last call was made at 9pm and woke up my daughter from sleep.
Lastly, on my last night, I received a call at 2am in the morning. I picked up the phone, and the caller hanged up. It disrupted my sleep.
I’d like to take a moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Tess from housekeeping. Tess consistently goes above and beyond in every aspect of her work:

• Warmth and professionalism – Tess greets each morning with a smile, genuine kindness, and a positive energy that sets the tone for the whole day.
Please ensure that Tess knows how deeply appreciated she is. She is an invaluable asset to Shangri‑La Philippines and a shining example of hospitality excellence.
From the Front Desk staff to the Bellhops and also the Housekeeping staff, they were awesome. they are friendly and helpful throughout my stay.

Also, compliments to the housekeeping staff on our floor (11th) (sorry I didn’t get his name) — polite, helpful, and professional. Truly appreciated!
She thoughtfully seated our large group in rooms 601 and 602, which gave us both a beautiful view and the privacy we appreciated.
Amazing speedy service with friendly staff (honorable mention to Ms Tess who closed our door after we had accidentally left it open.)

They went above and beyond to help us with our needs and made the birthday celebration of my two friends truly memorable.
All the staffs are so polite and accomodating. Specially Miss Tess and sir Jp of housekeeping they welcomed us so well.
From the Horizon Lounge to Housekeeping to Heat, every single person we met made us feel welcomed, important, and cared for.

Special mention to the housekeeping staff lead by Miss Tess for the high standards of cleanliness provided in our room.
Servicse and staff are always prompt courteous, proffesional welcoming and generally kind people looking to make your stay more delightful.
The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service from the Guest Relations team, particularly Cess, Hart, and Karen.

We appreciate the assistance of Teresa, Brittany; Lifeguards Leo and Sherman and Mavic and Nikki at the pool bar.
The rest of the team went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant and memorable.
Right from the start, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and paid attention to every little detail.

He immediately excused himself and rushed to prevent it from being given to our kids, knowing their allergies.
They called my room and demanded payment, cash or card, said they were sending up someone to collect, then an hour later they called to figure out why I wanted to give 1040 to pay 338 in typical Philippine struggle with math (answer: fewer coins). I told them they were holding 100 times this amount of my money in the prepayment, but they kept insisting I pay right now. Two people got involved. I had to go down to the front desk, reach in my pocket and hand them a giant wad of cash and say, "Now this will qualify me to have 35 coffees paid in advance, are you happy?" Good god, sweet Jesus, why not just take a credit card imprint for incidentals? No apologies.
But the true asset of this hotel are its people. I was always greeted and cared for and did not lack in anything. Every call or need was answered in the most courteous way, always offering a quick and efficient solution. I specifically want to call out Marlon, the concierge, who assisted me with a number of queries large and small (luggage, transfer etc) and really became that friendly face greeting me back into my “home away from home” - so appreciated when traveling away from the family for business! I wholeheartedly endorse Marlon for any future promotion for added responsibility and wish him all the very best for his career. You have a true gem!!

I would like to commend the following people for going above and beyond their usual duty: Ms. Tess, Ms. Lynce, Lindz and Von of Housekeeping, Lotis Macatangay and Meann Bautista of HEAT, special thanks to Meann for taking time out to help me find a laptop mouse, also to Ramil of Guest Service Center who helped me get the mouse, so ended up with two, and for always being cheerful and courteous, Dianne and the other Customer sales staff for their kindness and efficient work, Jillian of Front desk for her patience and hardwork, David of Engineering for helping us fix the tv remote.
But mainly I like the staff. They were all nice and friendly. They welcome us with warm greetings. Ms Heart in the lobby area was so kind when I requested my coffee. And ms Tess was visible in the 7th floor hallway, she was kind as well and when I needed something she was there to help. The image of Edsa Shang is not just the hotel itself, but the warm welcome, kindness and professionalism of all staff in every department. They should get good bonus for doing extra mile for their guests.
A big thank you to the Front Office staff, especially Ms. Faye, for giving us such a warm and thoughtful welcome! She kindly offered cookies and coloring materials for my kids, which they absolutely loved. Ms. Faye truly embodies 5-star hospitality — always well-groomed, smiling, and genuinely attentive. Even from afar, we could see her consistently assisting guests with kindness and care. She made sure we felt comfortable and excited about our stay.

Unfortunately, the room and the washroom are very dated. Carpets are stained , curtains are gray from accumulation of dust over the years ,and the shower is grimey ( along the edges and caulking. Its red and brown in colour). We stayed in room 422 and 421 .
Special mention to the housekeeping supervisor/ manager (apologies if I got the title wrong) called Tess who, along with her team, created a wonderful Birthday greeting in the room with banner and balloons for my arrival.
However, this time, I found the hotel room is really old. The room humidity is very high. I washed a sport T-shirt and it never gets dry for two days.

Our hotel room is stuffy; we cannot get fresh air, and the furniture is the same as it was 25 years ago when I experienced it.
Good room service accommodating staff like tess king and wilson 100% clean for the rooms also for the room request they are very attentive
The rooms need an update as there was evidence of aging and for the rating of the hotel, we should not see this.

And I have yelled out to hold on a couple times already as my partner and I are in the room.
Excellent room at the end of the hall. Spacious and quite. Catered for everything I needed for the one night.
I think the thermostat control should be adjusted, even when it was off, it was still a bit cold.

The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable, unlike the room I stayed in January 2
The housekeeping did a great job in cleaning both our rooms and accommodating all of our requests.
In addition, the room was extremely cold upon arrival (approximately 3 degrees), which was very unpleasant.

Our room in the garden wing although clean and comfortable, felt a bit old and outdated.
The room is very nice and has a lot of venues to hang out in.
I especially appreciated the attention to detail—from the crisp linens to the well-maintained facilities.

The rooms look dated and tired. The furniture is old-fashioned. Very basic toilet supplies.
We can see the view the of the tennis courts, buildings and roads.
It’s time for some up grades in rooms and outside window areas.

The room has a wonderful decoration and the bed is so comfortable.
The rooms are very old. For Shangri-La, this is a disappointment.
The furniture had to be moved to accommodate the extra bed.

We were surprised with cakes and balloons in our room.
Rooms are very dated no blackout curtains old furniture.
But the windows can do with a little cleaning.

The toilet door lock was broken and needed fixing.
We were placed in a pwd room. It was an old room. There was no shower enclosure and the shower curtain was sagging although effective. The bathroom was kind of small with very minimal space/countertop to put your toiletries on. For a pwd room, there was no mirror at the wall where the table was. A pwd has to sit when applying make-up which was not possible if you use the full-length mirror beside the bathroom door or the mirror above the bathroom sink. The sliding door of the bathroom was heavy and there was no handle for you to hold when opening or closing. I had to use the small lock to close and open the door. The lock was also ineffective.
One of the things that bothered us was the baby cot they provided us was very old and broken. The bars on the side were falling off and the mattress didn't fit the cot at all. Our baby could fall of the mattress to the surface of the cot and get stuck between the bars and the mattress, or even fall out of the cot because there were a couple of broken bars. We just put pillows around the mattress to prevent this from happening.

But the room itself (Tower Wing Executive Room) could use some attention. It felt a bit tired, had an old musty smell, and the cooling system was difficult to regulate — it was either too warm or too cold. We were also provided with only one thick blanket, which seemed more like a duvet or bed cover. A thinner blanket option would have made the stay more comfortable.
In my room (probably the “cheapest room tier,” let’s be honest), there were zero bedside power outlets. None. The nearest usable outlet was near the bathroom wall, somewhere awkwardly by my foot. Every night became a yoga class just to plug in my phone. Pro Tip: A 10-foot cable won’t save you. Bring a 3-meter extension cord or prepare for some awkward gadget placements.
Big thanks as well to the room service team led by Ms. Tess, together with Ruben and Karylle and entire team, They always made sure our room was clean and comfortable, and even went the extra mile for our kids, giving us extra bathroom mats and bath towels almost every day. Those small touches really meant a lot!

So selfish of you to restrict us, your guests of more than 10yrs to witness and join in the New year countdown, this has been our family tradition, my parents are 80 and 84 yo seniors, mom is wheelchair bound, she is so excited to join the countdown
And as for the Horizon Club: without notice the management brought forward evening cocktails to 4-6pm ("evening"?) and it seemed sold the space many times over so there were few seats and the general feeling of overcrowded mess-hall.
Metal detectors everywhere: I asked when was the last time you caught a terrorist, and they said not in the 6 years of working there have they stopped a single person. So what is the point.

I play Tennis and they have a Tennis court plus a hitting pro available. For $32 an hour, you get a loaner racquet, brand new Tennis balls and an hour of hitting with their resident pro.
There were a few things that caught me unaware like the flickering lights when I turn them on, the lopsided hook in the bathroom, or a stubborn tile stain on the floor.
I do appreciate hotel's cleanliness, it's very neat especially the room personnel from Mam Tess, Gil ,Jonalyn and other staff very sincere in approaching and assisting us in all our needs.

The hotel provides free WI FI in all areas, so it is very convenient for business travelers or individuals who wishes to stay in touch with their family and friends.
We were able to borrow a wheelchair upon submitting a valid ID which made it easier for my senior mother to get around.
But without a stable internet connection — especially when it’s advertised as a working-friendly stay — it really defeats the purpose.

We took up the option for the horizon club and it was worth every single cent for the experience.
Upkeep and maintenance is still good despite it being one of the oldest hotels in the area.
The thoughtful arrangement of flowers, macarons, and the anniversary cake made our stay truly unforgettable.

The food selection was impressive, with a good variety to enjoy throughout the day.
Steam & sauna room plus ice bath which I often had to myself.
They also have a kids play area. Hotel is very kid friendly.

Cozy vibe, relaxing atmosphere, and just the perfect spot to unwind.
He helped us reserve the meeting boardroom for my son’s birthday.
Since valet parking takes forever, no waiting lounge to sit on?!

We asked for microwave and they happen to have available one.
The hotel smells relaxing from the moment you step inside
We also had the chance to try the Health Club.

The in-hotel shops are either closed or pretty uninspiring.
Services are great, hopefully we can come back soon..
And facilities there are fantastic, the family loved them.

Gorgeous lobby lounge, very nice and large swimming pool
The hotel itself can provide everything you need
I also appreciate the beautiful Christmas decorations.

Piano bar at night is very relaxing.
Facilities are amazing, plenty to do.
And amenities are well maintained.

Everything is at walking distance, the hotel is connected to the mall and if you don’t like that mall. You have a second mall just 3min walk away. Lots of things to buy, see or eat. Also some arcade, table tennis and bowling nearby.
So we had to transfer to Shangri Plaza Mall by the bridge connecting from the hotel to to the mall which by the way we did not know closed by 10 pm so we have to go out and around.
Easy access to Shangri-La Plaza is a major attraction. Shopping and great restaurants are definite draw cards. Now I understand why friends love to “staycation” at the Shang. Special call-out to Nikkei Nama Bar at the Shang Plaza.

It is situate so bizarrely that you have to walk up and down two hills and across a dangerous quarter-mile to get to a mall that is 50 feet away as the bird flies.
Our group of friends from our old church meets every year for a Christmas get-together, and we make it a point to try a different hotel each time.
Too much people at the hotel to the extent that i do not want to sit in the lobby while waiting for my husband to park our car.

No issue with the location it is within nearby commercial malls. It is the traffic of the area that will impact the excellent location of the hotel.
Meanwhile, the hotel is like a 5-minute walk to one of Manila’s biggest malls “SM MegaMall” and they also have a skywalk/bridge connected to another nice mall.
My family’s recent visits in August were tied to practical needs - a nearby hospital procedure for my daughter and a family celebration at SM Megamall.

The hotel's ideal location, situated in the vibrant center of the city, offered us convenient access to shopping malls, airports, and a diverse selection of restaurants.
This is indeed an oasis in the middle of the city where you can walk to malls to shop and come back to a restful place.
The stay was excellent. Best part was the walkway bridge to the mall. No need to get out of the vicinity, you won’t even

The proximity to the mall and other restos and shops makes it an ideal convention site and hotel stay
The MegaMall is in walking distance. The ShangriLa Plaza is in walking distance. Many excellent restaurants in walking distance.
Fantastic hotel in a great location next to the Shangri-La Plaza shopping centre by covered pedestrian access walkway.

The massive SM Mega Mall with heaps more shopping and eating choices, also a few mins walk.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Manila.
We had no complaints regarding any noise. The area remained a peaceful quiet of serenity.

It was at our convention site so it was convenient for me to stay in.
It’s near several Malls with unlimited choices of restaurants and several grocery stores.
Hotels like Shangri-la in Edsa, Manila is accessible by MRT and mall.

The location, breakfast, and room are perfect and accessible to the mall.
Easy access to the mall for any needs is a bonus!
Location was great. Very accessible with nearby malls and church.

It is conveniently located near the great mall, Shangri Plaza.
Location is within the city and has malls nearby.
The only advantage is that it’s closer to malls.

Location: proximate to main roads and shopping malls
Location is walking distance to SM Mega Mall.
The location. It is between 2 shopping centres.

Pretty extensive breakfast buffet although I, personally, would have loved pork tocino to be included in the buffet. My husband would have loved to have the option of poached eggs. I alsolutely loved the “taho” and how it was delivered; it reminded me of olden days. The pastry selection was also divine.
No adequate sitting room between tables so struggled to get in and out of seat due to other guests hogging more than their fair share of the space - breakfast items not cooked correctly due to the amount of people being fed for breakfast - all in all very very poor
I would like to commend the amazing staff who made our stay so comfortable and worthwhile: Kyle from Concierge, Sophia and Francis from Reception, Tess, Ruby, Jayvee, Nixm, and Jill from Housekeeping, as well as the receptionist from HEAT who kindly arranged a comfortable table for us during breakfast.

The breakfast in HEAT actually has deteriorated. It is the first time I ever had idli that was as hard as a hockey puck. The quality of the Japanese and Indian food selection is not as good as before, the chef needs to improve their standard on these cuisine.
One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast at Heat. The food was amazing and we’re so grateful for the kind assistance of Angel, Jeco, Rommel, Cynthia, and the rest of the staff who took such good care of us each morning.
A special thank you to the Heat breakfast team in particular Trix, Genny & Hannah & the roaming chefs who regardless of how busy the restaurant was always took the time to talk about my day & say hello.

It was a quick breakfast as we have to be at the ballroom by 8 , but since I have had breakfast here before, I knew what to get. It is of course one of the best breakfast buffets.
The breakfast was a cattle market buffet and we had to queue to get a table - not at all what I was expecting from what is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Manila.
Lo and behold there was none again. And the mango also was just gone but since I was a little disappointed already regarding the taho they made sure we got the mango but at the end.

When my son asked for ice cream with a cone and the chef mentioned there were no cones available, Shaira and Chef Aaron went out of their way to find one, just to make him happy.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with the bread pudding emerging as an unforgettable favorite - a dish so remarkable it became a deciding factor in returning for a second stay just two weeks later.
Breakfast has a good variety however I was asked to pay extra for a fresh slice of mango when I requested on the first day, but I didn't take the offer.

I had requested fresh mangoes during breakfast, and the service staff served me some very sweet mangoes. Having mangosteens to go with it was also a nice touch.
So me and my husband made sure we’d be earlier as it was something I look forward to coming home to the PH.
We would also like to thank the people who served us breakfast today for their excellent service as well(Sean and hostess RM).

Breakfast is as expected in HEAT. Still a lot of choices of different cuisines (Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, Continental, Indian, etc.)
No real western food for breakfast. Grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans and potatoes sadly lacking. All Asia dishes
When I picked it up at the front desk, the handle broke as I lifted the box.

They were patient with her and giving us choices on what to feed my picky baby.
We especially loved the breakfast buffet, I couldn't get my husband out of there!
Also, the convention came with a breakfast conference and free flowing coffee and tea.

The breakfast was sumptuous. I didn't expect the variety I saw and ate.
Breakfast at Heat was another highlight, thanks to Angel and her team.
The breakfast room is not so crowded, and the food was good.

While having our breakfast on the last day of our stay.
We also enjoyed the great breakfast at the HEAT as always.
The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve been to.

The breakfast buffet is very good - lots of choices.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with varied food selections.
Really enjoyed the breakfast selection at the lounge.

The swimming pools are very big and there's multiple pools that I cannot try them all because im enjoying my time in the slide kiddie pool and the one at 1.15meters.
The amenities such as the pool was definitely a factor of our enjoyment. It was a safe and fun place to swim or simply stay under the sun. ( ̄︶ ̄).
✨ Nikki & Vince – Pool Bar For creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, providing excellent service with warmth, efficiency, and a smile that keeps guests coming back.

Was walking into the lobby and a person from the pool bar embarrassed me in a loud tone saying I did not pay my bill?
The pool and water facilities were also good. All the slides and water attractions were working. There were multiple lifeguards and staff around the pool.
The lifeguard whose name I believe was Thelop (or something close) was very attentive and kept a close watch on her the entire time.

Last issue is that the pool is supposedly open until 10PM but both nights we stayed there the pool was already close at 8PM.
Pool area is kid friendly and life guards always on stand by. Our son love the pool area. (Maybe heated pool will be great)
We also enjoyed the food at the pool bar; everything we ordered was delicious, and the ambiance was relaxing and perfect for unwinding.

We signed him up for the Splash Squad activities (tie-dye shirt making, chocolate making class, pool games, and even a massage for kids).
The kids always enjoy staying at Shangrila hotels specially here at Edsa Shang for having the best pool and activities for kids.
The lifeguards — Joseph, Melvin and Ulyses — were exceptionally attentive without being intrusive, ensuring everyone’s safety while creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Pool was lovely - service to chair was a little slow and I had to approach the bar to get a drink.
I really liked the pool area, it has a play ground for kids, a tropical garden and a chilling zone for adults.
+ the menu at the pool was quite restricted with a few items not available or took very long to come.

Life guards alwsys watching out taking care of visitors Ulyese Joseph and Melvin. Wait staff at pool side are amazing
And the pool of Shangri-la Hotels (everywhere) are always like that you're middle in the palm tree jungle...
The pool staff team in particular John-John who are quick to provide towels and assist you.

As i was only asking if we can still use swimming pool for a while
Pool area with a wonderful park like an oasis in the middle of Manila
A special shout out to Adonis for the great help at the pool

The pool was also a highlight, my kids had so much fun.
Lastly, I love that they have a 9-feet deep outdoor swimming pool.
We had a wonderful day at the Shangri-La EDSA pool.

The pool is lovely, with comfortable sun loungers,
Our go-to staycation. They have the best pool!
The pool area was perfect for relaxing

The pool did also close too early.
Enjoyed swimming in a natural environment.
My baby also enjoyed the pool

A very special shoutout to Ma’am Angel and her amazing team at HEAT Restaurant, and to Sir Eddie and the Horizon Club Lounge team. Both Ma’am Angel and Sir Eddie went above and beyond to ensure our dining experiences and overall stay were nothing short of spectacular. Thank you both so much! 🙏
The food was poor, ate in the lobby , pool bar and buffet. Buffet food was cold, pool bar pizza was very good when it eventually arrived after over an hour. Lobby food was not good, very salty falafel wrap, hot dog style sliders described as burgers tasted of cheap processed sausage.
Upon our arrival at Heat on December 8, we were warmly greeted by the staff and promptly served with special buffet selections by Ms. Aileen, the ever-smiling and gracious Supervisor, as coordinated by Ms. Angel Banal, who had been aware of our booking from day one.

Now the worst part: they treat you like a criminal. I prepaid 3 days and then went to lobby and bought a black coffee for the equivalent of seven dollars USD and they said I could charge it to my room.
Too expensive Friday buffet and wine is to be paid separately. Despite the seafood restaurant was amazing with plethora of choice but $150 for two apparently seems overpriced. Also too much food and too many customers may lead to food waste.
I was a little disappointed at the mushroom soup, it tasted good but it looked so different from the menu photo and it's such a small amount for the price.

That same night, we ordered food from the pool bar and the burger took a little longer than expected so by the time it came we were already uninterested.
We had our birthday lunch at Heat restaurant and Mr. Lawrence still remembered us from our last visit and made sure that we had a very pleasant time.
We used to be loyal dining customers and hotel guests since 1998; food quality has gone down particularly at the Horizon Club, Summer Palace, Lobby Lounge and Heat.

I was just hoping that the rest of the staff realizes that the people visiting the resto needs to have the best service possible together with the food.
Pool bar staff didn't write down our food order so only half arrived the rest came an hour later even though there were only two tables occupied.
And it was busy so they just piled up dirty plates cups etc between tables on large trays. They left them for about 30minutes until I complained.

Food selection? Vast. Service? Sharp and on-point. Ambiance? Effortlessly elegant. It’s the underdog buffet that quietly outshines the “fancier” counterpart in BGC without breaking a sweat.
They all should be on the same sheet of music and if it all possible try to accommodate people staying in hotel, greenhouse, dinner reservations, etc.
The hotel was full because of the Christmas season and a big conference, yet both the service and kitchen teams still handled everything smoothly.

Room service food can also improve, we ordered tocino with egg and rice for breakfast and the rice was dry and tough.
I have to say the coffee that I had cappuccino. It’s really below average. Had to get my coffee outside the hotel.
Unfortunately, the discount reflected was only 30%, even though we were hoping to get the 50% off.

There are only two restaurants and 2 bars apart from the lobby lounge everything closes.
And opted to dine at the hotel instead of looking for somewhere to eat.
Grateful for an excellent dining experience marked by outstanding service and premium food.

And the banana cake is a must-try, definitely worth the calories!!!
Food is so tasty, and there is so much variety.
Ditto for their many dining options in the hotel.

The other room services (food) were also superb.
The buffet at HEAT were great also.
Food is great, would definitely go back!

While we dine at the Lobby Lounge
And the food are so delicious!
And the meals as well.

They stealed my money , i booked for the 12 of november and i payd for it ,.i booked for an other person that is not me,,the persons went there at 3 am of the 12 of november ,they asked to pay for the 11 of november and for the 12 of november pretending that i never payd for the 12 of november so i payd for 3 days stayng only few hours ij the hotel i complayn but tyhey never gived back any money.
They couldn’t store our card for some reason so we had to pay each time after meal, we are staying for 3 nights we have told them a few times just charge on the room and we have signed we will sort out final bill at check out.
We wanted to change the room, but after 3 hours of waiting they offered us a suite where we should pay another 5500.- peso on top of that, but I was not ready for that with the bad service, food.

To pay for late check-out (reminded at check-in, a letter slipped under the door late at night, a call to the room the next day so we would not forget—all that during the single night we spent there)
And they let you check in before the official check in time if your room is ready (mind you, not all hotels in Manila do that) and generously give you an hour extension when you need it.
Poor booking system. 3 hours waiting for a room we booked. we need to go the lobby 3 times to follow up. complimentary was to stay for another 4 hours before check out.

We were grateful to be able to check in early, thanks to Sir King, and we sincerely appreciate Ms. Jyllian from the Front Office for the smooth and hassle-free check-out.
I couldn’t understand we have spent enough to stay & why can’t they just let us enjoy the time and sort out final bill at check out.
Also when we were about to check out I asked for assistance to bring our luggage downstairs, we waited for more than 30mins but no one came.

However, when we first checked in the desk, supervisor mistakenly told us that there would not be any reservations to restaurants available for the foreseeable future.
Despite the hotel being full during check-in, it took less than an hour for us to get our room, which we really appreciated.
Free breakfast rolls and coffee at the lobby for exhausted disoriented guests who had delayed flights and check in are soul soothing.

The lady at the check-in counter told us that the only difference was that there were metal railings attached in the bathroom.
When we arrived and checked in at reception, the receptionist said that we had to pay extra for our child.
The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which set the tone for the rest of my stay.

Need to re-locate checkout and crowding at reception and concierge areas in view of the infectious period
So I had to wait a while before I was allowed into the restaurant for breakfast
From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff(Ms Sophia, specially) made me feel very welcome.

From day one they accommodate our request….everything we ask for we got it right away .
With the exception of the person who checked us out, who was strictly all business.
Princess, the mobile check-in front desk staff understood the plight of weary travelers like me.

Everything—from the smooth check-in process to the thoughtful little touches—was simply perfect.
Our check-in was seamless and gave our room an hour early
But it would have been nice to know prior to check-in.

Finally, during check-in, the receptionist asked if there was any occasion.
And also granting our request for a late check out.
Easy check-in eventhough we came very late at night.

Yes, but he is included in the booking.
I checked in here at shangrila hotel
My mom got tired prior to check-in

Grace from Chi was the absolute best massage therapist in the world. No kidding. I will come back to Shangri-La just to have her massage. Thank you. She is really good
Large fitness and spa area, but very old and already quite worn. I have rarely seen such a poor sauna, which probably has not been renovated for 20 years.
Had a great aroma therapy massage, overall Jackie was professional, really good at giving massage. I would recommend her and come back to get wonderful massage treatment.

Massage was excellent, highly recommend hiblot massage with Ms. Tess. The steam room was also nice very relaxing. Definitely will come back to try other massages
The CHI Spa was also a highlight—hands down the most relaxing, stress-relieving massage and facial we’ve ever had. Thank you to the wonderful ladies there!
We signed him up for the Splash Squad activities (tie-dye shirt making, chocolate making class, pool games, and even a massage for kids).

I don’t want to give everything away but I can say it was worth it and I will be going back.
Chi the spa amazing experience always. Enjoyed the hilot massage with my parents and a treat for my niece.
This is just a wishlist, but i would love a salon in the hotel! Maybe attached to the spa?

Thank you to my therapist which is ate marites, she’s the best therapist that I’ve had been.
And I left feeling so much better and relaxed. I would certainly go again for another treatment.
I have a great experience in edsa shang and i had a massage at Chi

I also had a hot stone massage with Ms. Marites, and it was absolutely amazing.
My second time having a massage from Venj and I always feel brand new afterwards.
And she massaged me very nice! The massage was so good. I’ll come back surely!

Nicely appointed, pool area spa and room all very nice, as expected of shangri la.
We also made full use of the spa and enjoyed truly relaxing, serene massages.
Such a wonderful time to spend at the health club of Edsa Shangri-la hotel..

My facial therapist, Ms. Mia, was exceptional—she was gentle, attentive, and truly skilled.
Super relaxing. The first and the best experience ever in shangri la hotel.
Chi Spa is also a great experience. (Mj and Day are very accommodating)

I had a wonderful experience at Chi Spa in the Shangri-La Hotel.
This time I decided to try Chi Spa and I wasn’t disappointed.
If there can be steam rooms available near the pool area.

Relax and refresh at the Chi Spa
The spa and health club are amazing.
Wonderful experience at the spa .

Massage at Chi Spa Edsa Shangrila
Excellent service at the spa.
And pampering like massage is

We used the service of hotel car/van to take us to the airport this is a premium cost compared to a taxi. its over double it 15 minutes late which was not good. when we paid the price for premium van this it was not ! many years old, the aircon was terrible we would been better in taxi - lesson learnt
Another employee we would like to commend is Jay Ferrer who drove us to the airport the first time and we especially requested for him to pick us up and drive us back to the airport on our second stay.
Chief Concierge officer should have been more active by communicating well in regard to booking vehicles/Taxi rather than communicating via his juniors when booking was taken by him, and the customer was standing nearby.

If you want to ride the MRT (elevated train) to go to neighboring cities like Cuban, North Edsa, Makati, this hotel is also a 3-minute walk to the MRT Station.
Had I known it would cost me 2700 php when I could easily have got a taxi using Grab for 450php, I would have just done it myself.
It was a long trip from the airport to the hotel in peak hour - well over an hour, perhaps even two hours depending on traffic.

But some staff in side of the main gate(We think their job is to find a taxi or call a grab) is not kind to us.
Our driver met us at the airport and we arrived at the front of EDSA Shangri-la at close to midnight after a long international flight.
Easy to get a Grab, depending on the time of day, around 30-40 min. Easy to get to the airport.

The airport pickup cars and vans were so easy to setup and find and the drivers were very professional.
From pick up at the airport to hotel stay and drop off at the airport everything went smoothly.
Good but beware, airport shuttle will cost you £40 when it is £6 if you use grab.

Thank you to the concierge team for always promptly replying to changes to my transfers
And to the Enterprise Car Rental Team -Richel and our Drivers Danilo and Abel !
Customer service from when we got picked up from the airport to the hotel .

Rush-hour in Manila, especially around EDSA is very slow-moving and would try anyone's patience!
My suitcase was lost on the flight and was only delivered the following day.
Taxi drivers all hassling me near hotel. Too much traffic all day

I had no choice but left for Airport with an empty stomach.
We had a car service from the airport to the hotel
The hotel is easily accessible to both public and private transport.

Method of transport for us was taxis via the Grab app.
They charged me 400% more for the airport shuttle service!!!
Driver who picked us up at the airport was great.

Hard going getting there with traffic, even for Manila.
A direct pathway to MRT station and to Starmall.
Booking.com stated that this property offered free airport pickup.

The cabs are dirt cheap for a city
And the local traffic is atrocious.
A bit far from the airport

Full gym facilities (the main reason I requested to stay here as a daily gym user at home) always staffed by amazing trainers who assist you
It’s well-equipped and allowed me to squeeze in a solid workout during our stay, something I always appreciate, even on a short getaway.
Gym was probably the best gym in any hotel I've stayed in so very impressed with that!

There was also a charge for the gym, which feels cheap for a nice hotel
I AM A REGULAR MEMBER OF THE HEALTH CLUB. I ENJOY GOING HERE EVERYDAY.
One of the perks I personally enjoyed was access to their gym.

Large fitness and spa area, but very old and already quite worn.
Special shout out to KC and Britanny of Health Club
Gym facilities were top (even has a cold plunge!)!

One of the best gyms you can wish for
Special mention to Colleen and Grace at the gym
Equipped with nice big gym, clean sauna , jacuzzi.

Very good gym but I didn’t use the sauna.
Awesome fully kitted out gym with plenty of space.
The pool was divine and the gym was amazing.

The gym wasn't open 24/7 as in other ShangriLas.
Thumbs up for the health club

I had just difficulty with the parking because maybe that time they had a lot of guests and they can’t accommodate the number of guest.thank God there was last 1 parking i got.
It took us more than 30 minutes for my husband to park our car and they gave us reason bcoz of the event happening in the hotel.
Parking space is limited, if there is a convention at the hotel, those who will check in at the hotel no longer have parking space.

Even if the hotel parking is full, I can easily park at Shangrila Mall and transfer at night to the hotel parking.
I mean this is not the first time they handle this thing and they should have anticipated this.
Until we leave the hotel after checking out there was always problem getting out fron their parking.

From the day we arrived in the hotel the way they handled parking is really hideous.
Indoor parking is free and if it’s full, they offer valet parking.
No complimentary valet parking, i have to pay 150 pesos twice.

And then take again the elevator to the parking.
Valet on the other side of hotel
We had difficulty exiting the parking space

Parking slots are very limited.
It is really annoying.
Not enough parking

Access to parking
Limited parking
