Amwaj Rotana, Jumeirah Beach – Dubai Reviews: Everything Guests Say

The hotel lives to its 5 star rating and is even better than some of the 5 star hotels in the area for what you get in the price you pay.

So glad we booked this after a 5 nights stay at the Jumeirah Beach hotel and can confidently say, we had a better time at Amwaj Rotana.

I just checked out and got a link for the review and I wanted to make sure I write one on the way to the airport.

5 stars it is not, we felt totally scammed, I've stayed in 3 star hotels WAY better than this hell hole.

The hotel location is also really convenient - a very short walk to the beach, the marina and the metro.

Was a fantastic few days my wife had not been before and she loved the experience of dubai.

I will definitely be coming back to Amwaj Rotana the next time I come to Dubai.

Overall we had a wonderful 7 night stay at the Amwaj and would return in future.

The only thing that it requires is more elevators because the wait is a couple minutes.

Also, the phone to reception or in-room dining was at times not working for my room.

Apart from that our stay was very pleasant and we would consider staying there again!

Will definitely be staying here again with the family when we are next in Dubai.

I’d definitely recommend Amwaj Rotana at Jummariah beach to anyone looking for a classy stay.

I did the dine around package which was really good value with loads of options.

The stay was ok... the hotel is used as because looks like an old hotel.

Overall, my family and I were happy with the experience and will definitely return here.

They went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

This was our first time in Dubai and we really enjoyed our stay here.

I stayed in two different hotels in Dubai, this is the best in everything.

It was really an exceptional experience and I look forward to my next visit.

I don't even know where to start describing how awful this place is.

A very enjoyable stay for a long weekend.

And this hotel met all my expectations.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the incredible staff at Amwaj Rotana, and especially to Basit, Kelass, Vector, Osama, Nasveen, and Dobbee, for their swift and compassionate action in locating my 80-year-old mother Luiza when she went missing on the beach.

When we reported it to guest services and the reception team they were most helpful in helping us to review the CCTV footage and try to locate them again which was really appreciated.

When my husband asked her if everything is ok as she was very grumpy she made a remark saying she didn’t ‘want to be here’ and would rather go home.

One occasion during my stay my car wouldn’t start outside the hotel - the staff were great with helping the mechanics push the car round the back parking area.

I want to give a special mention to Babul from housekeeping, he was so kind and welcoming to us everyday and had our room in immaculate condition everyday.

In the mornings the lifts were busy for breakfast but the staff member(sorry I can’t remember her name),was doing a great job helping and controlling the lifts.

A huge thank you to Promise the security guard who always welcomes you in and out but also checks to see if there is anything we need.

The outsanding manager, Mustafa helped us get over the problem by organising seamless early cheack out and going above and beyond in terms of customer service.

Special thanks to Wiam who gifted us a dinner voucher to use at the hotel as there was a slight delay in preparing our room.

Luggage was bought to the room and I misplaced my lock key- hotel staff kindly helped by breaking the lock off for me!

I witnessed her on two separate occasions being rude to elderly guests - pulling faces, moaning and all round being a disgruntled employee.

Soji and mohuiddin at the beach bar were especially very attentive and Moh Moh served me at Rosso and benihanna and was great.

The staff at the hotel were amazing and they couldn’t do enough for you, they were very accommodating and really helpful too.

All staff were very welcoming from the front desk to the concierge, house keeping and in room dining extremely hospitable.

Words cannot fully express how thankful I am for the way the entire hotel team responded to my concern.

Your attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine concern brought us immense comfort in what could have been a very distressing situation.

Our cleaner / housekeeper Akash was very friendly and helpful when we asked for more water to be provided.

I am particularly grateful to Mr. Hassan at the reception who ensured that everything about my visit was perfect.

Have to mention Sultana who really helpful when planning days out and giving us great deals.

The room attendants were really thorough and always make sure you have everything you need.

Great service and very friendly hotel, especially the club lounge with Purity and Nasir.

Some of the night staff were so rude it was not acceptable.

All staff were unfailingly helpful and seem genuine in their friendly manner.

Quite short staffed in key areas (pool bar especially).

I decided to stay in Amwaj Rotana because of the accessibility to everything- train, beach, shopping, 24 grocery store, fast food and the wonderful scenery that was very relaxing, that’s what I needed.

There are lot's of things to see and do right near the hotel and numerous ways to get to all the other Dubai hot spots.

Another thing was that we could hear the traffic very well, but nothing you can do about it when you live so centrally.

Fantastic location for Jumeireh Beach - the area around the hotel is great and the walk over to Bluewaters Island is very near.

This was our first time visiting Dubai, our journey from Canada took 24 hours but it was worth every minute of travelling time.

It was in a fantastic location making it very accessible to a local super market, restaurants, beach and the Ain Dubai.

A heartfelt thank you as well to the beautiful city of Dubai for being such a safe and welcoming place.

Only downside was the constant flow of traffic from early doors well into the night and cars honking their horns.

Downside was that there was a lot of traffic in the area around peak times due to the club nearby.

The view from our balcony was amazing, across to the Dubai Wheel and the Palm in the distance.

The hotel is broadly located just walking distance from all the main attractions and restaurants of JBR.

Just a few minutes walk to tram/metro and to all the bars and restaurants at JBR Walk.

Excellent location, it gets crowded on weekends to arrive in car or taxi but otherwise good choice.

Great location but not great if you actually want to get some sleep whilst you’re away

Hotel is steps away from the beach and walkable anytime of the day or night.

Location was amazing thanks to having the sea, sand, shopping, food, 24hour grocery, parking, taxis.

You can’t beat the location either, an extremely short walk to the beach and shops!

CLOSE TO ALL THE FOOD OPTIONS DINE IN OR FAST FOOD, BEACH AND BROADWALK.

It’s located in a tourist center, so it’s convenient to reach the beach etc.

Its close to the beach , and many shopping and restaurants to choose from.

Traffic is busy but that’s because it’s central but taxis are very reasonable.

After we were finally given a room, it was not the room type we booked - we booked a room with a king bed and a double-bed sofa, and we got a room with just two double beds for 3 people.

Yes someone came to check but they kept saying it’s cooling it’s fine, you left balcony door open then that’s why even though we did not leave the door open as the temp was so hot!

Yet again, on the first day the aircon was working perfectly but after this it was so hot in the room and despite complaining and asking for a fan several times nothing was done.

Then a single bed was delivered to our room (without confirming with us if that arrangement was ok by us), which took all the free space left in the room.

One occasion without my knowledge the housekeeping staff entered the room after midnight and turned on all the lights despite we being asleep and not dressed appropriately I was fuming!

The manager George, such a lovely gentleman changed my room to a higher floor (24) with an even better view and there was no construction noise thank God.

Not helped by the fact that we were woken every night to the screeching of chairs being dragged across the tiled floor by the rooms above us.

By the end of our trip my partner was nearly in tears with tiredness which did taint our last few days of the holiday.

The AC did not work in the room, and it took them over 24 hrs to send someone to look at it.

When we went to our room there was so much noise of construction happening which was on going work in the hotel.

However there was a ridiculous amount of noise from the clubs and road downstairs despite the floor being the highest.

Some people say the hotel is noisy but we found the rooms to be very quiet with excellent housekeeping.

The hotel is not soundproof as it states on their own website as well as third party sites.

The bathroom is very small and old the toilet cover is smaller than the bidet.

The room was not sound proof or Windows because there was heavy sound/noise from outside

I requested for a room change or I was thinking to leave the hotel.

The view from the room was amazing and all the amenities were very good.

The room size is ok, the sea view rooms can partly see the sea.

Room air conditioning seems to not be working efficiently but it was comfortable.

Our room was well cleaned every day thanks to Zeeshan.

Our room was cleaned by Furkan everyday and was immaculate.

One thing I would say was that there is an issue with waiting times for the lifts (elevators) and sometimes we waited for close to ten minutes before the lift would come which could be quite frustrating.

One time a worker took me to a service lift as she saw me standing on my level three times while she worked the floor and felt bad for me waiting there

Only small downside is the lifts are a bit slow only 3 for 25 floors so can take a while for one to arrive / be empty.

The fridge was very small so you cannot keep tons of food or drinks inside, but the place is near a grocery store and fast food chains.

The club lounge rooms fall short in terms of amenities, offering no vegan food options and a very limited selection of drinks during happy hours.

The in hotel bar did not have 2 beers on tap I requested - please ensure a 5 star hotel has a full bar offer!

The club lounge was closed due to low occupancy but we were given drinks at the bar plus sushi and canapes instead.

The all inclusive worked well for us but I think we wouldn’t bother with the lounge access next time.

Lifts are a big issue here, as peak times you could be waiting 20 mins for a lift.

They provided 2 bottled water daily and you can ask for extra if you need it.

Additionally, they don’t provide basic accompaniments like crisps or nuts with drinks during this time.

Property is good service is good but the lifts are an absolute nightmare

Here was two occasions where I was waiting for a lift for 10mins

We booked the all inclusive option with a room with Lounge access.

Accessing a lift often involves long wait times, which can be frustrating.

They could improve by having day beds on the beach.

The place is clean, non smoking area and family friendly.

You have to hire an umbrella for the beach.

Hotel is very noisy, even on the 25th floor.

Only the number of elevators need to be increased.

The hotel was always clean and tidy too.

Waited in lobby was offer free drink.

The service and facilities are top notch.

You will be waiting a long time.

Overall a very enjoyable stay, lovely breakfast options again busy at certain times but arriving slightly early would be beneficial, though the large amount of staff do always help the turnaround.

Breakfast was excellent but if you waited till the last hlur you had to queue a while to get in.

We booked the breakfast for our stay and the variety of the intercontinental breakfast was excellent.

2 complimentary soft drinks or 1 alcoholic beverage being included with the meals was also super, with lots of bottled water always available.

Once we had dinner which was also nice but not much variety to choose from which was a disappointment.

Don’t book all inclusive the menu is extremely limited, better off pay as you go.

The option to switch dinner for lunch in the HB was great for us.

Restaurant need better cook, food not super good as a 5 star.

The food is as great quality and plenty to choose from!

The choice of half board is excelent, several choices for dinner.

Dinner at the Horizon was amazing with plenty of choices.

JB's gastro pub is a lively venue with great food.

Food was excellent in the hotel.

The girl on reception immediately tried to upsell us a more expensive room, then disappeared before checking us in, and we stood by the reception counter for over half an hour, with no-one updating us or showing any interest in us.

We had to ask someone else eventually about checking us in, and even though at that point it was well after 2pm, the was some confusion about our room.

I can sort of understand that but other hotels, especially those claiming to be 5 stars, already have a room available 30 min before the check in.

Day of arrival, unfortunately room took a hour longer than check in time than expected, was offered complementary lunch whilst I wait due to the delay.

From check in to check out, the service from all the staff at the hotel was excellent.

Arrived at 2pm check in time. But the room was not ready until 3:30 pm.

The elevators can be challenging, more in peak hours like breakfast or check out.

We arrived at 1:30pm (check-in is at 2), the room was not ready.

Had a late flight out and also extended check out which was fantastic!!

Arrived early and contacted me as soon as room was available!

Waiting 24 mins for a life

The only minus was that there are people who park sunbeds with their towels and then disappear for a few hours, that doesn't make it fair for those who actually want to swim and sunbathe by the pool area.

The pool was also much bigger than some reviews suggest and the hotel kept the water cool somehow which was a great relief in temps of 40+ degrees.

Pool and Bar area was good ably supported by Mulli and colleagues, although at times became busy, but we arranged our day to avoid to suit.

The lifeguards should remove those towels and give the beds to others who plan to stay there.

The pool is dated and constantly in the shade and this makes it redundant to use.

The health and wellbeing centre and the swimming pool was clean and in excellent condition.

The pool is great and the lifeguards/ staff make it an enjoyable experience.

They offer free shuttle service to/from the mall of emirates which is very convenient and saved me ~300 AED that otherwise I would have paid for taxi ride.

The only thing was the area around can sometimes be noisy in the evenings with the volume of traffic going through.

Taxis and Uber were available almost in an instant everyday.

There was however traffic getting in everyday and every time.

Can’t fault the massages and reasonably priced (previously stayed at another hotel due to this hotel being booked up - I still came to this hotel to book my massage, that’s how good it was and the service).

I had two massages by different members of staff and both were great.

The gym was good and the spa was great.

We also booked a massage at the hotel.
