Service is well intentioned, overly polite as per training but insincere as requests for later check out rejected - unless we pay extra.

Stayed for an anniversary and was delightfully surprised to find a bowl of fruit and cake waiting for us in the room.

I would not rate this hotel as a 5 star, I would rate it as a low 1 star.

Lovely room & very helpful staff with easy access to taxis for Kite beach surrounding attractions.

Plus the view you get while going up or down in the lift is just awesome.

One of my worst experience in Dubai i would rate this hotel 3 stars ONLY

Overall, my experience fell short of expectations, making it difficult to recommend this hotel.

It was out first time coming to dubai and we really enjoyed our stay!

This is not a five star hotel, nor you receive a 5 star service.

There’s a lot of hotels in Dubai.. would do research for the right one.

I would recommend this hotel as a single women traveling on her own.

We stayed at Canal Centre for fives nights and we have no complaints.

I stay here more often than not when visiting Dubai on business.

As the premises need some serious upgrade to call it 5 star.

We requested an additional blanket, and it was delivered in 5 minutes.

Very comfortable to sit & eat on your own.

Magnanimous gesture they finally offered a 30 minute extension!

I requested 2 hours, so I wasn’t being unreasonable.

This Hotel is overrated.

I had to upgrade my room because I was under the impression city view meant looking at the Burj Khalifa but it didn’t so I paid a little more to see the Burj Khalifa from our room.

The bed is very bad , not comfortable, firm … I had back and hand pain from the bed … I do not recommend this hotel if you care about the bed …

This is a new built hotel so the building and rooms arent sound proof, noise from other rooms, corridors and roads can also be heard!

They have two types of premium rooms !!!!! One is bigger with a bathtub and the other is smaller with no bathtub.

The FIRST disappointment was the hotel state of repair and cleanliness, which are NOT what you'd expect for a '5 star'.

I just didn't know the type of the room I booked is always a connecting room, thus it wasn't convenient.

It’s sad that you are paying more for a bigger room when in fact a smaller room has better views.

We found hairs of previous guests in the shower, on the taps, in the sink and on the bathroom walls.

After we received a key and went to our room, we found out the room was still not ready.

The shower was not up to the mark and there was a bad odor coming from the bathroom.

Never seen a glass wall in a bathroom before, but there is an auto curtain for that!

I had to change my room 3 times to get what I actually had originally booked.

Minifridge in our room did not work, housekeeping brought the new one in 5 minutes.

There was dust all around the bathroom light as well as stains on the blind.

The shower leaked (a lot) and there were even exposed wires in it (live?).

Don’t get the Suite if you would like to have a nice view.

The beds were comfortable and linens were the best and softest I've experienced.

Needs to update the electrical plugs from British standard to universal (EU(US/UK) standard.

So went straight into the room which was great in itself.

The lighting in the room was quite dim and dingy.

We had an upgraded view of the city and canal.

I booked a premium room with Burj view and bathtub/shower.

The property and rooms were clean and beautiful!

The rooms are spacious and very clean.

Rooms are past their best and dirty.

I talked to the Front Office Manager (I believe his name is Gangorg) and explained the check in situation and multiple disturbing calls to our room from the front office.

We were messed around for several days to find this information out, including multiple long waits, misinformation, promises of calls that never came and emails that weren't replied to.

Despite booking a 5 night stay cancelable rate, we found that somewhere in the small print there must have been a get out for them.

The staff was awesome from the doorman to the receptionist to the house cleaning they did everything we needed and more recommend five star.

Staff are rude, Sad and don’t have any customer services skills AT ALL especially indian receptionist guy “ don’t recall his name”

We met a lot of staff, some I cannot remember their names, but thank you to Binu, Sampath, Joesph and Issam!

He sounded full of himself with an ignorance tone saying this is what it is take it or leave it

She kindly apologizes for the inconvenience and offers a late check out tomorrow (3 pm instead of noon).

My favorite guest services guy Ayouib was there to assist from beginning to end with anything we needed!

The taxi desk staff are great, very helpful and recommended and booked a restaurant for me.

The concierge was great but the rest was so not worth the money we spent.

They staff was very welcoming and there to help us with anything we need!

However, on the positive side, Issama, Ayoub and David were excellent and very helpful.

We went downstairs and talked to Idem who introduced himself as the Manager

Decision makers refused to engage with us, instead passing messages through receptionists.

This obviously came with lots of attitude from the reception crew.

They all 3 were as part of the concierge team.

Staff is extremely helpful, as are the tour booking staff.

Only complaint was I choose that hotel so I could walk straight on the canal but no access with construction so did not take advantage of the canal hotel walk every morning.

I will say you definitely have to get a taxi to still go anywhere since it’s not right next to everything in downtown.

Expect to see a lot of construction workers around you and lots of dirt and 24/7 sounds of jack hammering and construction noises

Only downside is there is still a lot of construction going on around the property and directly behind the hotel.

Location is by the bay and boardwalk, which provides a nice path for a run or nighttime stroll.

So if you sit on the terrace to have breakfast be prepared for some dust and noise.

Not much in local area so either hire a car or spend $20-30 on Ubers every outing.

Didn’t want to walk 10mins outside hotel to get to canal along the main road.

Good location and view on the canal and Burj Khalifa the highest building on earth.

We went to the pool the next day just to find out there is no sun after 11am since the building blocks the sun from the pool

Just a windy pool deck that gets dirt on every 10 minutes with the lifeguard brooming the deck the whole time you’re there.

The pool area is the highlight but inadequate number of sunbeds for guests so we missed out and sat at bar table.

Get there early and put a towel on chairs cause by 8am chairs are reserved and people don’t come back until 11am-1pm..

The less said about the pool area the better (see photo). It all feels a bit 'tacky' and old - maybe it would have been ok 10/15 years ago.

My toilet seat was broken and I had to unplug the TV to use my laptop, but otherwise fine.

Outside the room things are not better, the lobby and restaurant has an overwhelming perfumed smell (covering what?).

It’s not acceptable that customers can’t at least be informed that amenities aren’t available during their stay.

The elevators are small , u may need a long time to find space in the elevators

The pool, bar and restaurant will be closed because of preparation for an event.

Small supermarket inside reception multiply all prices by 10 times from local market

Even though we had booked and paid for the room the night before they would not let him check in as they had given his room to some-one else.

I would expect much better service from a 5-star hotel, but did not get it from the Front office Manager.

While checking in, they offered a complimentary juice which was refreshing as you come in from hot weather.

Apparently, they were not aware about our 3 pm check out and asked us to vacate the room.

I had to go to the reception and ask them not to disturb us with phone calls.

We end up getting the room at 4 pm instead of 2 pm check in time.

By 4pm we checked in a room with Burj view but it wasn’t the premium room.

We arrived at the hotel at 1:40 pm (check in time is at 2 pm).

We arrived at 2pm for check in and they said room is not ready yet

Then I was provided with room earlier than the check in time.

Next day at noon Reception keeps calling to our room multiple times.

I had to get the manager involved to sort this nonsense out.

Elena from Reception informed us that our room is not ready.

Payed a full night to ck out after 6pm $$$..

Needed late check out and no VIP was offered..

He did not make the situation any better.

We waited one hour and still no room
