COMO Metropolitan Singapore Reviews: Everything Guests Say

We analysed 286 reviews of COMO Metropolitan Singapore. 97 contained specific, relevant feedback about the hotel, which we’ve organised by topic so you can easily see what guests say about each aspect of the property.
We excluded 189 reviews from the detailed analysis because they contained little or no specific information about the guest experience.

Our experience shows that COMO: 1. Does not respect their guests’ time, putting their staff’s phone scrolling time in our room as priority over us checking in on time causing us to wait around for no good reason before letting us access our room.
While COMO may not have the sprawling grounds of other five-star hotels, it stands out for its serene, intimate vibe—ideal for those seeking a quieter retreat.
Overall we felt for the price of the hotel these silly things affected it negatively, when there are so many other choices of accommodation.

While there is room for improvement, I'm convinced that with time COMO Metropolitan will live up to its description as a luxury facility.
3. Does not have any service recovery protocols in place nor do they have any initiative to do so in the slightest bit.
An absolute gem in the Orchard group of luxury hotels - the go-to place to stay for my next visits to SG!

2. Lacks proper hygiene, allowing their staff to chill and relax in our room prior to us checking in.
Hopefully the management can look into training their staff and develop the initiative to implement proper service recovery protocols.
The latter needed to maintain a semblance of fitness with all the great food on offer in Singapore.

Hotel was clean (with minimal exceptions) and the rooms have a little kitchen area with sink and microwave.
Everything - COMO Metropolitan Singapore has exceeded my expectation (for a luxury, new hotel) in every possible way.
Since COMO Singapore opening in 2024 , i always stay at Como Singapore and never get bored

For $800 AUD a night I would expect more especially as Singapore is saturated with hotel options.
It is the location that you pay for as it sure isn’t the room or hotel facilities.
Our stay in COMO was the cherry on the top of a fantastic stay in Singapore.

It’s a pity how our experience at a supposed '5 star hotel' ended up like this.
An exceptionally beautiful hotel - in the middle of singapore but with a sensationally exciting view.
All in all would stay again for location, staff, cleanliness and the great lap pool.

Favourite place to stay in Singapore… a calm oasis in the middle of the bustle.
If you’re looking for a luxurious yet family-friendly stay, COMO is an excellent choice.
We would still choose this hotel for next time visits to Singapore.

Really in awe of the amazing coffebot. What a unique experience.
Highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here.

Had an excellent stay at COMO Metropolitan Singapore.
Will definitely recommend and return for another stay
What an outstanding hotel in all ways!

Como Metropolitan has been an amazing hotel.
Amazing property in a great location.
Recomanded hotel To go to.

They also allowed us to have an early check in when they spotted it was my partners birthday and left a beautiful Cedric Grolet treat on our mini fridge.
Other reception staff who helped with food recommendations, the staff at the Skybar and the lady who managed the luggage on our last day were also very helpful.
Special mentions to Tina on Reception and Rex in the Sky Bar - you were so helpful and made my son and I feel real special and valued.

In our many years of travel, staying in different hotels, we have not seen as friendly or as polite or as accommodating a staff as in Como metropolitan.
This is not what I was expecting from the front desk staff, especially so when she had promised us that she would deliver the keys to us.
Front desk staff should be more well versed in terms of guest settling bills using a different card or cash from the credit card tendered for deposit.

I can’t imagine a solo female traveler opening her hotel room door to find an unknown man sitting in her room waiting for her like that.
Service personnel were warm, and the establishment showed a hospitable attitude to let guests check in and avail of room early where possible.
A special shoutout to the manager (I believe!) and the team for going above and beyond to accommodate my younger child’s dietary requirements.

Throughout our stay, she remembered us from check-in and always took a moment to talk to us, making us feel truly valued.
An appreciation shoutout to Kent who made us feel very welcome as well as happy about our choice of the hotel.
Staff were excellent. Chloe was amazing. So caring, informative and helpful. She went out of her way to make us comfortable.

Everything previously mentioned about the great staff here sums up what makes a great hotel work for the paying guests.
Rex at the Sky Bar added to the experience with easygoing, thoughtful service that made evenings there especially enjoyable.
The lobby is modern, the staff are friendly and patient, and they assist in booking taxis to the airport.

Helpful staff, very comfortable businesslike room, adequate breakfast, lovely swimming pool on 19th floor, partly with a glass bottom.
Without doubt the most accommodating and friendly staff I have ever encountered at any hotel I’ve stayed at.
They go above and beyond any expectations I had and made our stay a pleasurable and memorable one!

Service is very good and they seem to be training a lot of staff, which I like.
Bed very good, rooftop pool a pleasure, staff everywhere extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast fantastic!
Service is second to done, always a smile on the face of the staff.

In fact all the staff at this hotel are very friendly and welcoming!
Overall front desk staff and F&B staff are very helpful and responsive.
Even before you step into the property, their service is excellent.

They're incredibly friendly and will help with any request you have.
Although the staff are good and take them off you.
I had everything clarified and completed within 10 minutes.

Will definitely come back for the happy staff.
The Sky Bar staff were very attentive.
He literally does not stop moving.

I find it baffling in 2025 that there was only a table on one side of the bed, and only one power point on the left side of the bed- around the corner if you dragged over the heavy ottoman as a substitute table.
It would also be helpful if the rooms or reception provided a brochure detailing the hotel’s facilities, as it’s easy to forget what was mentioned during check-in without having to disturb the staff.
This unknown man then strutted out and gleefully said 'haha oh the room is ready' and left - turns out he was a staff of the hotel by the name of William/Willie.

I was in complete shock and immediately closed the door thinking that Haz had given us keys to the wrong room and we had walked in on a fellow guest.
This made it difficult to adjust ac while people slept inside and people were still using the living room as it is larger therefore room doesn’t get cold.
I’m sure it was intentional with the vibes but I was travelling with my mother who was having trouble with her eyesights and so it was quite troublesome.

I reported this to the front desk with pictures, who very pleasantly and empathetically said that they were concerned and would have someone take a look.
When we got to the room, I opened the door and to our horror, a man was sitting at the dining table scrolling on his phone.
He was NOT apologetic at all and was not even fazed that we walked in on him sitting at the dining table scrolling on his phone.

Also, there is no place to put things near the shower accept the chair which the user is supposed to be sitting on.
There is an espresso machine with free pods provided twice daily, healthy snacks, a fruit basket and a fridge full of complimentary beverages.
You’d press the down button and the lift that would arrive would appear to be going up when it was actually going down.

So we had to rearrange the room which wasn’t easy given the shape of the bed head and the bedside tables.
Oh, and lights in the room are a bit of rocket science :))) Takes a bit to figure out the controls.
The rooms are spacious and the kitchenette with microwave and daily replenishment of mini bar and healthy snacks are a plus.

This is a boutique hotel, with a small amount of rooms, so it is always very quiet and private.
However, the washing area does not have an effective draining system so water is just everywhere after shower.
The lights in the bathroom could not be turned off, so the door had to be closed.

The room is sparse and cheaply fitted out with painted sliding doors over the wardrobes.
These rooms are so much larger and the view is day and night.
Room did the trick- clean and very comfortable with a nice modern feel.

Room was very small. Nowhere to put our luggage. View was terrible.
Bathroom is a bit dark even with all lights on.
The other strange thing was we booked a twin room.

There are also tasty little snacks in the room.
I liked the minimalist design in the room.
Besides that it is very wheelchair-user friendly.

No carpets on the floor - good!
Equipped with mini kitchen (with microwave).
Very comfortable bed and amazing view.

Just across the street at the Paragon mall is a terrific food court (I never eat at food courts but this one is next level—on par with the mall in which it is located).
The location is between the Somerset and Orchard MRT stations, next to Palais Renaissance, with a rich variety of bus routes, making it an excellent choice for a location.
Location is great, 10 minutes walk from either Orchid MRT or Somerset MRT, few minutes walk to Orchid Road, shops, eateries and services.

Can’t fault the location. Right in the centre of Orchard Road and next to Paragon Mall, you can’t get better than this.
The location right off of Orchard Road and across from the Takashimaya Shopping Center and close to Metro stops is a plus.
The room was comfortable and well appointed, and it was just off of Orchard Rd with easy access to shops and transport.

The hotel’s prime location made it easy for us to explore the city and return to a tranquil sanctuary.
Close to a lot of malls including a small walk to the MRT that takes you anywhere quickly.
The location, the robot coffee machine, the chic interior, the pool , the bar , Cedric Grolet .

I liked that the hotel maintained calm and modern ambiance despite being located in a central area.
Easy access to the underground network, buses and close to a huge shopping mall with interesting eateries.
Great place to get away from the city, take a jog, spend an entire day in nature.

Located conveniently in the city area and within walking distance to a shopping mall and MRT station.
Location is good for shopping and a short distance to Marina Bay etc (via transport).
Next to Paragon Mall, which has tons of things to buy and places to eat.

The Paragon is just across the street, so too The Mandarin Galleria and Takashimaya.
A stone throw away from the shopping area of Singapore - Orchard Road!
About a 30' walk to the better places, albeit via uncomfortable roads.

If travelling about by MRT its Orchard or Somerset stations close by.
Paragon shopping centre steps away that has plenty of shops and food.
Best location. Close proximity to all the prime shopping malls in Singapore.

The hotel location very close to central shopping district was great.
Very good base to explore the city.
It was convenient to get around.

Great shopping & food choices.
We do like the location.
Right across from Paragon.

Great location overpriced hotel.
Location near paragon
Location and amenities.

We were able to use the amenities for the rest of the day until our late flight left, including the showers in the gym, which closed at 7pm.
Gorgeous infinity pool - thank you rose who worked at the pool who was super attentive, she brought us water and offered snacks without us asking!
There are signs of wear and tear like any hotel but nothing that a bit of care and a lick of paint can’t fix.

Having stayed in a few Como hotels, this doesn’t seem very Como in its styling with the main recognisable feature the Como Shambala toiletries.
Cleanliness could be improved a bit, vacuuming into the corners and dusting every 3 days would make it perfect as well.
The electronic light switches are difficult to understand. Perhaps a label on what they switch on n off may be helpful

A waitress staff called Stella was very nice and brought us on a tour of the hotel and its facilities.
They have a robot coffee machine in the lobby, with complementary drinks for clients, which is a nice touch.
The facilities at the hotel were good but we weren’t really there long enough to use them.

The first thing I noticed at reception was the black countertop is looking a little tired.
The “barista” robot on the 6th floor knocks out great coffee and is a must see.
The stark 1990s NYC warehouse feel to the breakfast room where the lighting is harsh,

At the lobby there is robot coffee maker for free coffee, with comfortable seating area.
Club 21 store on the 1st and 2nd floor has great stuff and service.
Such a unique addition to the hotel amenities and a conversation piece for guests.

Very generous: we had plenty of tea, coffee, snacks, water, beer ( complimentary).
The cost. You could stay at much more luxurious hotels for the price.
The hotel's own brand of shampoos/soaps are fantastic (and available for purchase).

The communal area was modern and sleek with lots of greenery.
I also loved the robot espresso bar on the 6th floor.
The robotic coffee machine did great job making caffe latte.

Everything about the hotel was great - location, room, facilities.
The robot coffeemaker at the reception lounge was so cool.
The pool , the bar , Cedric Grolet .

Need to change lift from reception to rooms.
The facilities at the hotel are excellent.
Free coffee 24/7 dispensed by a robot

Great facilities- amazing but expensive spa.
The robot barista is amusing.
Staff, location, facilities .. everything

If you wish to experience a bit of chaos or even deception, try adding breakfast service after you've made your reservation; you may end up with a pleasant surprise, recommended for travelers who enjoy unexpected surprises during their journeys.
The hotel provided a complimentary coffee made by a robot in the mornings but they did not have a milk alternative & I'm lactose so i couldn't enjoy it.
We had breakfast on day one, and after that for the next 3 days we actually had our breakfasts in other places.

Breakfast was a bit underwhelming in terms of both selection and portion size—we expected a bit more.
Bfast is decent, but prefer buffet with rice and noodles, and more variety with the menu
I cannot recommend anyone to go try their breakfast there - a must do in Singapore!

We accidentally missed breakfast on our first morning however they still arranged some food for us.
Bed very good, rooftop pool a pleasure, staff everywhere extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast fantastic!
If you're staying here be sure to have the Eggs Royale and Cedric Grolet croissants.

The buffet was very minimal which was supplemented by a small a la carte menu.
However this is one area where the Como Metropolitan Singapore does really really bad.
As well as an excellent Nasi Goreng and Laksa. All ordered off menu.

The decor of the breakfast cafe didn’t seem to match the COMO style.
The famous in-house Cedric Grolet patisserie has the croissants for breakfast.
Breakfast is nice - prawn laksa, or fish congee is recommended.

Im a tea drinker & tea bags are always weak.
The morning breakfast was adequate and could be much better.
The breakfast area reminds me of 90s style warehouse vibe.

Complimentary latte’s every morning from the charming robo- barista Bruno.
But an important part of a hotel experience is breakfast.
Cedric Grolet breakfast, fresh delicious and very attentive staff.

I went once and didn’t find it very comfortable.
Loved the Cedric Grollet croissants at breakfast
And the croissants is not bad.

The breakfast was very satisfying.
The breakfast was quite ordinary.
Breakfast was ordinary and expensive.

Food good especially breakfasts.
Breakfast was ordinary.
Hearty breakfast

The rooftop pool is wonderful but seating is very limited (6 deck chairs during our visit due to window cleaning equipment) and in peak times you may not have anywhere to put your things.
The lap part of the pool has the glass bottom to pass the time viewing the traffic below as you push out your laps 19 levels up.
I was told the pool closes at 7pm which feels a bit too early for a city centre hotel or any hotel for that matter.

One of my favourite things to do in a Singapore transit is to refresh with a night swim- and I can't do it here.
The rooftop pool was very large and plenty of open space (some other Orchard hotels have small & confined pools).
Lack of under cover areas to lounge upstairs by pool - it’s all exposed to the rain (which was daily).

The roof pool is great - 31m so great for lengths and was not busy during our stay.
Amazing pool on the 19th floor where you can see the traffic below through the glass floor.
Bed very good, rooftop pool a pleasure, staff everywhere extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast fantastic!

All in all would stay again for location, staff, cleanliness and the great lap pool.
It also closes at 7.30pm, which seems very early for this part of the world.
Feels like it needs a bit of landscaping and beautification to make it more welcoming.

The separate elevator to the room and the pool area provided sense of privacy.
One of the main reasons I stay there is the excellent swimming pool.
Super clean and the rooftop pool and view really out of this world.

Up at the bar area adjacent to the 30 metre pool.
Lovely swimming pool on 19th floor, partly with a glass bottom.
The infinity pool was amazing for an afternoon swim.

Did not have time to swim in the pool.
The pool itself is also a disappointment too.
The pool was fabulous and views amazing.

Pool has a unique glass bottom feature.
The roof top pool is amazing.
The pool! I mean the pool!!

Pool needs a little more shade.
Great rooftop pool with glass bottom.
A beautiful, quiet swimming pool.

The infinity pool was spectacular.
Pool fabulous
Beautiful pool

Furthermore, it is obvious from this that the only reason why we were told by Haz that our room wasn’t ready at the front desk was because this male staff William/Willie was scrolling on his phone in our room, unbothered that he was delaying our check in time of 3pm.
Not even a manager made an effort to apologise or check in on us during our 3 days 2 nights stay which is more than enough time for the management to reach out to us to apologise or improve on guest experience.
From the check in, I wish I could remember his name but I think he previously worked in the Philippines (to identify him). Totally took care of us. You could feel that was his priority.

She then told us the room wasn’t ready even though it was already slightly past 3pm and their website clearly stipulates that this is the check in time for guests.
My boyfriend and I were shocked that a staff member would brazenly sit and shake his leg at the dining table of a guest’s room to scroll on his phone.
I checked back at 4 pm and was informed that the room was still not ready; it seemed based on the front desk's reaction that they had forgotten.

After 10 minutes had passed, we suspected that she forgot about us, so I went to the front desk to ask if the room was now ready.
They wanted to take a charge on my credit card that would be reverse on check out but would take 1-2weeks to be returned.
When I arrived at 11 am, I was told that check-in was at 3 pm and the room not ready, which is fair.

We just said okay and she told us she will come to the lobby to pass us our room keys in 10 minutes.
From check in, stay, F&B at Como Cuisine and Sky Bar and all the way to concierge, we’ve had nothing but warm memories.
She asked us if we left any bags with the bellboy to which we replied no as our bags were with us.

Just as I thought, she had forgotten about us and she proceeded to pass me the keys after I asked for them.
Having filled all the information for the online checkin we had to provide it all again in person.
I initially had a mis-communication with the reservation where someone else’s cancellation was sent to me.

Our luggage sat in the lobby for an hour until I came down to retrieve it.
The arrival experience was further marred by front desk staff who did not speak good English.
Slightly awkward series of lifts to get to the rooms if you have bags to shift.

We arrived late in the evening and had the rudest reception guy check us in.
We were warmly welcomed by Rina, who handled our check-in with such kindness and professionalism.
They told us we got an upgrade, it was the same room we reserved.

We were attended to by a female staff named Haz… at the front desk.
We have to use to elevators up to the room , not convenience.
Realising her miscommunication with her colleague, she said 'oh f***' under her breath.

The guy lied to us like we were 2 year olds.
The reception is abit slow during check-in. could have been faster.
To their credit, the room was ready in 10 minutes.

She truly made us feel at home from the start.
The check in people are the worst anywhere.
He couldn’t have been less helpful.

Although I loved the restaurant, Cote, it was not easy to put the charge on my room despite it being in the same building.
The food and beverage outlets are outstanding with a Korean Steakhouse ( Cote ) and a French patisserie by Cedric Grolet.
Absolutely loved the Korean restaurant "Cote", which is a must visit.

The restaurance within the hotel they all are delicious food.
Restaurant lacked atmosphere in the evening although was high quality.
F&B at Como Cuisine and Sky Bar

Neither did I try out the restaurants.
Food in both restaurants was outstanding.
Smashingly excellent cocktails at Cote Restaurant

Nice hotel restaurant available!
Incredible culinary experience
Must try!!

The gym had top of the line equipment (very impressive), although not very large so I imagine it would be full capacity relatively easily.
It was monsoon season on the weekend we were in SG, so their gym at Como Shambala was a real blessing.
No drinks machine/tap in the gym; only two small communal glass Ikea bottles which empty easily.

It is also open 24 hours with just the use of your room key card.
Love the gym. Big and well equipped that you can get a serious workout.
There was even an infra-red booth to soothe those tired and aching muscles.

Excellent gym and spa, comfortable stay, unique coffee robot, but simple room decor.
The gym facility was good and met my expectations.
Wonderful gym and spa area.

Above average 'hotel gym',
Fitness center is amazing.

My wife asked if she could shower before her massage and was made to feel she'd caused a significant inconvenience (they seemed quite annoyed and were not helpful in showing my wife where the showers were located etc), despite her being early.
Excellent gym and spa, comfortable stay, unique coffee robot, but simple room decor.
There is also a spa available, but it comes with additional charges.

The Spa staff's at spa reception could be improved upon.
Wonderful gym and spa area.
