Guests most often praise Amara Singapore’s central location, clean and spacious rooms, pleasant staff, comfortable facilities, shopping-mall access, and value, with many planning to return. Recurring criticisms include prices feeling too high, inconsistent organization and communication, and service or overall quality falling below five-star expectations; some find the atmosphere corporate or lacking warmth.

Overall our experience was not good and I had such high expectations as friends had booked with Luxury escapes to other destinations and said how good it was so I was expecting the same.
Doesn’t feel like a 5 star hotel in the sense that there usually isn’t a doorman, but it’s definitely great value and feels clean and secure.
I know for sure that the next time we come back to Singapore , without hesitation, we will be staying at this hotel.

Loved the cocktails in the hotel bar jigle & pony (I think that’s what it was called) apparently it’s world renowned.
There were dirt stains on the bathrobes, used dirty tissue in the bathrobe pocket, and streak stains on the spoons.
There is a pleasant lobby, and a food court in the shopping mall right next to the hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel based on the lack of customer service and responsiveness to issues.
I am starting to feel that unless I prompt them, the deposit might be unilaterally forfeited.
We paid $1,400 for two nights, which we felt was overpriced for what we received.

At its usual prices, there would be better options for a staycation in my opinion.
They even stated they would approve the request once I initiated it via Booking.com.
I hope to come back again in this amazing hotel ! Thank you !

Beautiful and clean hotel but service doesn’t live up to 5 star rating.
The bedrooms are comfortable and very nicely designed, with clients’ wellbeing in mind.
Although it's not the cheapest hotel in Singapore, it's worth its price.

Our family like it so much and we will come back again
I hope to come to singapore again and stay at Amara hotel.
We loved that the hotel is attached to the shopping center.

We had a great stay and would definitely book there again.
Unfortunately I have had to rate this hotel as a 3.
Wonderful hotel, beautifully renovated, spacious rooms, amazing breakfast, convenient location downtown

We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Amara Singapore.
Pretty good value for money and a good quality stay
Great hotel, would definitely stay again if in the locations.

Our stay at Amara was excellent from start to finish.
In terms of service, the room card malfunctioned for three consecutive days; on the first day, after completing check-in, it could not access the elevator, on the second day, I couldn't enter the room, and on the third day, again I couldn't enter the room and the elevator wouldn't work either.
I don't like it when the sink is in the middle of the room and there is no separate bathroom, but that's a matter of taste; the toilet was, of course, separate and the shower was also separate, but the washbasin with mirror was just out in the room.

I found it very hypocrite that a hotel which is a tower of 30 floor remember to save the planet at the expense of their customers who paid a 5 star fees to stay in a hotel that was more like a 3 star.
We had a short power outage due to over use of a power board in our room, (our mistake) and within 10 minutes we had electricians upstairs to fix the issue, they were so quiet and thoughtful of our sleeping toddler too.
After talking to several other couples who were in the Club Lounge, who we found out that they had purchased the same package and were extremely disappointed with the service and not getting what was paid for in the package description.

Rooms: What guests say
View Amara Singapore975 relevant reviews
Rooms are repeatedly praised as exceptionally spacious, comfortable, modern, clean, and well-equipped, with comfortable beds and excellent showers. Recurring drawbacks include inconsistent or incomplete housekeeping, dust and occasional bathroom mould, limited storage, awkward open-plan bathroom layouts, insufficient hooks, and some soundproofing concerns.

Every day I had to ask for something - either there were not enough towels, or they didn’t replenish the supply of water, tea, and coffee, and so on (after contacting the reception, they would bring it, but having to ask for something every day is unacceptable)
When day blinds are drawn, anyone walking along the corridor across my room on the same floor can see me on my sofa, which I find invasive as I am now unable to enjoy the high floor view.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not satisfactory: there were larger accumulations of dust under the bed, the bathroom mirror had splashes (presumably from the previous guest's mouthwash), and the mirror in the room had greasy fingerprints.

The hotel was fully booked so our room was changed to a family room. We couldn’t quite utilise it as we’re only a couple and the hot water consistency was a bit erratic.
The shower had a push-button system, with only ON/OFF, so I couldn’t adjust the water flow, which was a bit inconvenient (although there was no problem with the water pressure).
Housekeeping accidentally got rid of my nightgown during the sheet change, and I had to ask about it 4 times before the hotel offered to compensate me for it.

The cleaning of the room on the second day of our stay also only happened in the afternoon, after we insisted on a cleaning request at the reception.
They did however, make a racist remark saying that the people next door were 'A Saudi family', as if that was supposed to mean something to me.
We had issues with the room - first the key didn't work, then after changing the key realized it was the wrong room type upon entering.

I felt like I was in a small studio apartment with the wash basin and open concept clothes hangers at the entrance of the room.
This means that water floods the entire room and you can only step onto a dry area (the mat) by going into the corridor.
They did offer us to move room but we were out most of the day and couldn’t be bothered to repack everything to move.

The showers are made for Oompa Loompas, I’m only 6ft and had to squat down to wash my hair which was not comfortable.
Our room was spacious and spotless, with a comfortable bed, updated furnishings, and even an automatic electronic toilet, which was a luxurious touch.
The total space of the 'bathroom' was good, but it could have been separate from the bedroom instead of being inside it.

The beds were large and comfortable, but we were provided twin beds, rather than a double - this was a little disappointing.
The shower area did not have any hooks or towel holder where to hang the clothes/towel so changing was a struggle.
On the corridors, all the garbage that the guests had put out after room service was still there the following morning.

We had to call the room service very often because there weren’t enough amenities in the room, even after cleaning.
Rooms were lovely and spacious, large bathrooms with dressing area and open style wardrobe at the far end of it.
The convenience of a store in the building and a dedicated drinking water tap in the room were nice touches.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and modern, with a nice balance between business hotel efficiency and a relaxing atmosphere.
The toilet leak continued and we had to place a towel over the water on the floor each day.
The long bench that ran the width of the room that was great to put all my things on.

WC and bathroom design could have been better; as wash basin is outside the toilet in the room.
For example, there were no drawers for clothes with all those empty spaces-only hanging rack with very few hangers; the hanging hook for used towel is on the other wall of shower; hair dryer cannot be used in the bathroom as the plug is only for shaver; the lighting in the bathroom sink or the dressing table which is outside of the bathroom are not so great so putting makeup on was a little difficult; there were stairs to get to my room floor after getting off the elevator- don’t know why they thought it was a good idea to place those stairs when guest have heavy suitcases.
One would assume that a top hotel like the Amara frequently has guests who stay more than one night and don't want to live out of a suitcase, but prefer to hang up their clothes, shirts, and jackets somewhere - but exactly those people have a problem: Because there is nothing where one could store clothing usefully - no closet, no dresser, just an open clothing rack next to the door with exactly two hangers.

The shower has an opening above a glass door into the room so it’s very noisy for anyone else in the room and you need to step out into the common area naked so there is no privacy amongst your family (we have an 11 and 14 year old with us).
In the room, we booked a family room, there is a wet room (box) for the shower with nowhere to put a towel or gown, you come straight out of the shower and into the room where the vanity is out in the open. Zero privacy!
We would turn the Airconditioning down from 25c to 21c and turn the fan on high but the next day whilst we were out it would be turned back up to 25 and when we would arrive home it just wouldn’t get cool even overnight.

Location: What guests say
View Amara Singapore766 relevant reviews
The hotel is repeatedly praised for its central Chinatown location, walkability to attractions, restaurants, hawker centers, supermarkets, and multiple MRT stations. A connected mall and nearby shopping center add exceptional convenience. Some guests found the MRT a 10-minute walk or slightly inconvenient in Singapore’s heat, while others considered public transport less ideal.

The location is perfect as well: the metro that goes directly to the airport is only a 5min walk away, and all the others bus stops and metro stops are very near the hotel to go anywhere th city
Good location, Proximity to laundromats, grocery stores and fruit shops, trains and bus at door. Close to the Buddha's temple of the tooth and Chinatown and other key locations, helpful staff.
The location was one of its biggest advantages—it was within easy walking distance of Chinatown and provided convenient access to so many of Singapore’s attractions and neighborhoods.

Jigger and Pony is right downstairs in the hotel lobby, though you may want to make a prior reservation for weekends and evenings given its popularity.
The location was brilliant, we wanted to be close to Chinatown and some of the Hawker markets, so this worked really well for us.
Plenty of food choices nearby - from budget food centre to mid price ramen and korean bbq restaurants if you feel like splurging.

Great hotel in good location easy 20-30 minute walk to the marina bay to watch the spectre light show and shopping mall
Also, the hotel is close to downtown, which can be easily reached and returned to with various buses for little money.
This time I used GRAB all the time, so I didn't use the subway, but the subway station is close.

The top location, with a 10-minute walk to Chinatown or 3 metro stops that connect the city very well.
We liked the fact that it’s on the EW train line from the airport so no change of lines.
A reliable, well-managed hotel that delivers consistent quality and convenience for professionals seeking comfort in Singapore’s central district.

The location is a bit far from the places to visit, you need to take public transport
In front of the bus stop, one block from the MRT, lots of eateries at ground level
The neighborhood is very interesting with lots of opportunities re restaurants and local sights near/in Chinatown.

Location was good - 10-min walk to Maxwell; 4-min and 10-min walks to different metro stations.
30 min to walk to the marina bay and 20 min by taxi to the airport.
Location wise it's close to MRT Tanjong Pagar or walk around 1km to Orchard road.

The location close to the subway allows for quick access to the heart of Singapore.
The location is close to the subway and many good restaurants in the area.
The location is perfect to easily explore the city centre by walking or tubing.

Just opposite the hotel there is a 24-hour supermarket, food stalls, a hawker centre.
Very clean newly renovated rooms in a great location a short walk from Chinatown.
Excellent location within walking distance from Chinatown and the Temple of the Tooth

Location is perfect, u have near lots of shops and cafes, very convenient.
The location is simply perfect: a bus stop right at the foot of the hotel that goes directly to the main attractions, the metro just a 3-minute walk away with a direct line to the airport, not to mention the markets within walking distance and the shopping center right next door… with even a direct passage from the hotel, so no need to go outside!
Being connected to the 100am mall meant that food and shopping options are plentiful, and the 24 hour convenience and grocery stores just a stone's throw away ensures access to food and any necessities all day and night, if the 24 hour room service at the hotel itself does not suit your needs.

We were pleasantly surprised by the local facilities and ease of access to all parts of the city via public transport (MRT) from either Tanjong Pagar or Maxwell MRT stations, both of which are pretty close to the hotel.
The hotel is very well located for reaching Changi Airport (Tanjong Pagar subway station, green line EW) and visiting the main tourist sites on foot (Chinatown, Clarke Quay, or even Marina Bay in half an hour).
There are many local shops across the street, as well as a 24-hour supermarket. Along the entire road, there are Japanese and Korean restaurants, and it only takes about ten minutes to walk to Maxwell.

Staff: What guests say
View Amara Singapore756 relevant reviews
Most guests describe the staff as friendly, welcoming, helpful, and professional, with concierge Keith repeatedly singled out for exceptional assistance. However, several reviews report understaffing, unanswered reception phones, slow housekeeping or requests, poor coordination, and occasional unfriendly or poorly trained service, including delayed amenities and checkout confusion.

Seems visibly understaffed: there are long wait times for the reception desks, there is only one person handling breakfast for everyone at the Club lounge, there are constant delays with replenishing the towels at the pool area... I would much rather have more staff taking care of the basics rather than the random doormen loitering in the main lobby.
However, I told him we wouldn’t accept since we had to go out for shopping then rush to airport later, he said the lunch is at 12.00 PM after checkout so we accepted it as we could have some light meal before headed out.
I bit the bullet because we had flown a long way with a small child and were tired so needed a shower and a nap, but it started the stay off on a sour note.

Waited 20 mins and nobody came so i went down to check out, luckily we met Raymond again, who sorted us out and got someone up to help us in a minute.
The front desk team also deserves high praise for their remarkable efficiency during both check-in and check-out, and for always being available with a smile to assist at any time.
I asked at reception if it was in the room and they shrugged their shoulders that they weren't sure then we got to the room and it wasn't there.

One ataff member at the Lounge, Raju, close to the poorest Customer Relations person I have ever experienced at any stay in hotels throughout Asia and the World.
I was not given any information about the facilities available within the hotel or where they were located, which would have been helpful for first-time guests.
...the receptionist when I arrived late at night with a 6 years old greeted me by giving me a room where the AC doesn’t work...

Special mention to Keith, who was absolutely outstanding throughout our stay attentive, professional, and always going the extra mile to take care of us.
It’s only minor but the mini bar was empty when we arrived and it took a little while for the staff to restock it.
A special mention to Aqmar who provided outstanding service in the Club Lounge, going the extra mile for very professional and welcoming service.

Staff were great, especially the porters who were always welcoming and on hand to help navigate in hotel as well as locally.
They gave us suggestions on where to visit, gave advice on what public transport to use to get to certain places etc.
Queues at the reception took at least 30 minutes despite there not being many people - no one was in a hurry

Concierge staff were very helpful especially Keith. Who went out of his way to help our son who uses a wheelchair.
I was forced to physically go down to the lobby just to get basic information regarding the ongoing water crisis.
Special thanks to Keith and Vanessa for taking care of my luggage whilst I took an overnight trip to Malaysia

Cleaning teams were cleaning neighbouring rooms at 10pm at night, causing noise that woke us and our child up.
If they had communicated with us that 7pm was not possible we would have let them clean at 4:30pm.
The reservations and front desk team were so unprepared for people to come or how to deal with delays.

Overall, this was the only team that consistently made me feel comfortable and genuinely welcomed throughout my stay.
Both of them were always warm and approachable, greeting me with a smile each time I came in.
It’s a shame the front desk was so poor in managing this process as everything else was great!

Special thanks to Keith and Idil for their attention and many tips they provided during our stay.
Your lounge staff was very rude and asked if I was entitled to my lounge facility ; it could have been handled better; such rudeness was intolerable and I could or should have lodged an immediate complaint as there was no need to announce to a packed club lounge room that I was having a questionable free feed when I clearly had a formal letter of invitation to enjoy the facilities of the lounge; I could easily afford the comforts of the club lounge contrary to what the lady staff thinks; she is the older one not the younger lady who is excellent.
Staff friendly: They were generally courteous but One staff member who had a special ability (disability) at the concierge was amazing. He gave me directions to places we could visit. He went an extra mile to open doors and call the taxi for us. He was really kind and made our stay memorable. This made me love the place more for its inclusivity even with people with disabilities.

The gentleman who greeted us also wasn’t treated very well by fellow staff who tried to point out his mistakes (which there weren’t any in my opinion as everything he told us was accompanied by a paper with the info) which seemed quite condescending and dissapointing to experience, staff can be further trained without clients present and in a more pleasant manner.
We were greeted by a lovely gentleman when we arrived who was pleasant, he had a badge that said 'please be patient with me' and we were, he was super informative and helpful and very eager to explain everything to us and show us around, we were very happy with the service he provided.
The request to prolong for a night we had to ask 3 times ( always with waiting for at least 15 mins since always only 1-2 persons at improvised reception) and couldn’t be answered, as we got deferred to calling someone else — so we simply gave up and booked in another hotel.

Breakfast: What guests say
View Amara Singapore642 relevant reviews
Breakfast is often varied, abundant, and high quality, with Asian and Western choices, but peak periods are repeatedly described as chaotic and overcrowded, with queues, cramped seating, slow replenishment and table clearing. Coffee machines frequently malfunction or create lines, and some guests found the buffet cold or below five-star expectations; club breakfast may be calmer but disappointing.

The breakfast is very extensive, both Western and Asian, from an egg station where you can make your own omelet to fresh fruit, different types of yogurt, snacks, sweets, and even a real pancake machine!
After couple of days of staying, the breakfast options seemed to be a bit poor and the breakfast finishes a bit early for a holiday stay (10.00 during weekdays).
The buffet breakfast was great, but it seemed like there was a lack of staff at times, as we occasionally had to wait for a coffee cup.

The breakfast is varied and excellent, but on 3 mornings out of 3 at least one of the coffee machines was out of order.
The breakfast buffet is very popular (understandably), but the tables are pushed very close to each other which makes manoeuvring around the difficult.
Elin kindly explained where everything was, and even pointed out some of the more popular items when I looked a little indecisive.

The breakfast spread was disappointing, same meals everyday barely any Singapore food, mostly western, I wouldn’t pay for it next time.
Breakfast room can get crowded at certain hours and with tables so close to one another it can get uncomfortable.
I asked for cutleries, they made us wait for too long - they seemed to have forgotten our request.

The breakfast was very extensive, there was a very large selection, both local dishes and classic European breakfast.
Breakfast was chaotic with staff whipping plates from you before you’d barely finished eating- it felt invasive.
In the club on the 17th floor was good also, but lots more downstairs (and fresher too)

This was after the staff who took our orders came and ask what drinks did we order.
After trying the buffet breakfast we decided we liked the less hectic breakfast in the lounge.
Breakfast had a wide selection and there was never a problem finding a table for us.

Understood there is a huge crowd, but better planning and arrangement can be done in place.
The breakfast experience during my stay was disappointing due to the lack of vegetarian accommodation.
The breakfast was okay, I had slightly higher expectations for a hotel of this standard.

Breakfast was consistently very busy, which meant guests were often squeezing past one another.
Breakfast doesn’t reflect a 5 star hotel in terms of bakery quality and diversity.
There were many varieties at breakfast, but not too many suited for Turks.

The breakfast time is kind of hectic especially during weekend after 9:30 am.
Breakfast was a delight with vast choice and a very comfortable dining area.
Breakfast host was a bit strange in a polite way but still...

For the price you can easily make many different varieties of recipes.
It was super busy and seems that the hotel is not that prepared to operate at full capacity … the breakfast was super busy, coffee machines fixing work, people had to queue a long time and there is no space to queue in reality ; super packed - even the lobby etc
As we were not very happy about paying for that service again, another 'solution' was offered to us: we had already consumed the 4 breakfasts that the hotel stated we were entitled to, and therefore on the second day we would have to have breakfast outside the hotel.

A similar issue occurred at breakfast because the hotel was fully booked; we were taken to a certain table in the adjacent cafe, and when we went to get food, we found that the staff had seated another group at our table!
The breakfast is decent, with a salad area, hot food section, desserts, specialty dishes, and freshly cooked laksa, as well as fried eggs, but the selection of cold drinks is limited to water and strangely flavored juices, which is a pity.
When we went for breakfast on the first day, in the middle of the meal, the person who had let us into the dining room approached our table and told us that only 2 of us were entitled to breakfast.

Facilities: What guests say
View Amara Singapore269 relevant reviews
Guests repeatedly describe a modern, exceptionally clean, well-maintained hotel with strong amenities, fast Wi-Fi, a pleasant pool, gym, and convenient mall connection. The pool and sunbed area can feel undersized and crowded, the gym is small, and the Club Lounge receives mixed reviews for limited food and drinks. Lobby seating and luggage storage are also recurring concerns.

The benefits of the club privileges are a few extra euros on the reservation: two free items to wash per day, access to the club where you can have an aperitif with appetizers like an apericena, and in the afternoon you can have coffee, tea, and sweets, free non-alcoholic drinks in the room, free access to the gym, just 5 minutes on foot behind Chinatown, and behind there is a metro stop that takes you to the hot spots of Singapore in just a few stops; from the hotel there is the entrance of a medium-sized shopping center with everything you might need, we had prescription glasses made in 20 minutes and with a significant discount for less than 100 euros with VAT refund at the airport.
There was confusion about the laundry service with verbal confirmation of 2 items per person per day being permitted (we had two rooms), but a bill then being issued on checkout for extra laundry despite us only using it twice for a total of 10 items between 3 of us.
It’s like they have tried to cram so much in that the space created is not the most useable, for example - in the foyer there is only a few places to sit while waiting and we found a lot of the time these spaces were constantly reserved.

Inside the shopping facility, there are numerous restaurants serving Japanese cuisine, grilled meat, yakitori, sushi, soba, ramen, etc., and Don Don DONKI spans two floors, allowing us to procure Japanese food ingredients including fresh produce.
2 of the 4 lifts also weren’t working for the 3 days we were there which made it very slow to get up and down to the room.
I also didn’t like that the hotel guests couldn’t feel welcome in the lobby as most of the good seats were always reserved for the bar.

Since they ran out quickly because most guests were drinking wine, we suggested to the hostess that they should put some in the refrigerator.
The common areas are not spotless (glass entrance door and the handle wasn't properly cleaned during my stay, same for the corridor).
Some emergency doors were blocked, so we couldn’t go back if a fire was happening in some of the floors.

The hotel is dirty, in the corners of the elevators and behind the doors of the public ladies bathrooms.
It appeared that the hotels version of a cocktail in the Club Lounge was a spirit and mixer.
Gym is small and minimalistic but enough to get a session done - water and towels provided

The seating in the reception area is reserved for guests who order drinks at the bars.
The only thing was the fact that the housekeeping was cleaning the opposite room till late.
Upon entering the hotel, you still need to look for a small table with employees.

The club room with extra drinks and food was not worth the extra money.
The front desk is not obvious! You would think the bar is the reception.
The convenience of having a mini shopping center next door with food options,

Facilities like a sauna or hammam were not as easily accessible as expected.
Unfortunately, fresh towels were often not available, and the area seemed neglected.
It also has an undersized dining area for the number of guests.

During the conference in the hotel it was a bit busy.
The toilet has blood stains underneath - very unprofessional and unsanitary.
In front of a Seven Eleven (very convenient for everything).

Having a filtered drinking water in the room is great.
I booked the hotel based on this piece of information.
It is very nice, very clean and well located

Would expect 5 star hotel to have better scales.
Elegant and clean hotel with all services available.
Our mini bar was not restocked every day

Pool: What guests say
View Amara Singapore257 relevant reviews
The pool is frequently described as lovely, relaxing, warm, refreshing, and offering city views, with towels available and a pleasant sixth-floor setting. Recurring drawbacks are its small capacity for the hotel’s size, too few sunbeds, occasional crowding, worn or neglected surroundings, cleanliness concerns, limited 8pm hours, and an inactive pool bar.

On the first evening, I went swimming, and the bottom of the pool was full of fallen leaves and branches, to the point that I could trip on them if I stood up. At that moment, I felt it was quite dirty, but when I went swimming again the next morning, I found that the bottom of the pool had been cleaned, so perhaps there are just that many leaves every day!
Worst part was the pool, really looked forward a relaxing time during the hours of day when temperatures were hot, however 3 building sites right next to hotel with constant drilling making it impossible to relax without head phones or earplugs in.
The best part was the lovely pool, which seemed to be fairly new & a nice place to relax at the end of the day, but we never saw the pool bar tended or open at all.

Be sure to take the time to enjoy the pool as it’s really refreshing and peaceful especially after a long day in the Singapore Sun.
The pool area was looking a bit tired, although it was still ok, it didn’t reflect the inside of the hotel.
Would be nice if there was pool service available but didn't appear to be when we were there.

The pool area was lovely and we spent a couple of mornings there, relaxing and reading.
Swimming pool is not as nice as the hotel itself but still very, very decent.
The pool - it was dirty and mould on steps please see attached pictures.

The pool is very small for the number of rooms the hotel has.
Our kids could go for a swim at the pool before checking out
At the pool bar there was nothing, nothing means it wasn't operational

The pool area was shaded, and pool towels were not always available.
The outdoor pool was lovely and cool too after a hot day.
Not a very large pool for a hotel of this size.

Everything was perfect, the staff, the room, the breakfast, the pool...
The pool a bit neglected and not very clean water
They are still under renovation albeit only the pool area.

The pool area is not large, but very pleasant.
Nice pool and gym area and good restaurants.
The pool was dirty on the second day.

Good hotel with a pool and gym.
Not enough sun loungers around the pool
Lack of lounges around the pool

Few sun loungers by the pool.
Nice pool and good amenities.
Pool less pleasant than expected

The pool area is beautiful.
Pool was really good.
A dream poo !!

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Amara Singapore228 relevant reviews
Check-in/out is frequently slow and crowded, with a small, understaffed desk and waits despite online check-in; one guest waited 1.5 hours and another arrived at 7:30 a.m. but got a room at 3 p.m. Early check-in and luggage storage are inconsistent, though some guests found both helpful; communication about readiness, charges, and incidents can be poor.

We had checked in on the official website in advance and planned to arrive at 4 PM. However, when we arrived at 5 PM, our room was still not ready, so they asked us to wait 20 minutes. Not long after, they notified us to wait another 20 minutes. We went back to the front desk to inquire again, and they made us wait another 5 minutes. After finally receiving the key, we found that the additional bed we requested beforehand had not been added. We had to ask at the front desk again before housekeeping finally added the bed. The bathroom doorknob was still broken, and one night, housekeeping only came to clean at 7 PM, which was quite disappointing.
I placed the clothes to be laundered in the laundry bag and filled out all the information in the room, but the housekeeping staff didn't take them for washing at all. When I inquired, the front desk said that their laundry service requires us to go out and find the housekeeping staff to personally hand over the clothes for washing!
I reserved 4 rooms on Booking.com, but only 3 rooms were booked. Eventually, they were able to secure 4 rooms for me, but initially, they insisted that only 3 rooms were booked, so they were not willing to help. When I showed them the reservation voucher from Booking.com and asked them to do something about it, they responded reluctantly.

After wandering around the attractions and returning around three o'clock, I waited about 30 minutes only to find out that not only was our room not ready, but they also wanted to convert our large double room into two merged single beds due to a lack of available rooms.
After arriving in Singapore early in the morning on a night flight, I thought it would be impossible to check in since I arrived at the hotel around 9:00, but fortunately, I was able to check in early (complimentary).
The Manager then came out, I said if my room is not ready then could you please take us up to the lounge to wait so we could get a water and a wine.

The front desk extension often rings for a long time without anyone answering. I asked for ice and was told it would be delivered, but it never arrived the whole night!
We went downstairs to ask the front desk to change rooms (and waited a long time again), only to be given another room that also had guests already in it!
When it was my turn again, I encountered Edwin, and despite having customers ahead of him, Anuwar said he would handle it himself and gave me room 1602.

Even worse: Although we were assured that we would receive the money back within 10 days at the latest, we had to wait 3 months for it.
Another example is our request for a late checkout. Unfortunately, that was not possible. It was, however, possible to check out at 12:30 instead of 12:00.
I was really upset with self check-in! It takes looooong time to write everything AGAIN, even if you already have a QR. Don’t use it!

No problem with the principle of a deposit obviously, but the details needs to be clear and up front before an agreement is reached.
There are only 2 people at the counter, and you could easily spend 40 minutes waiting if you arrive at a bad time.
Checking in always speedy & thank you Azri - for the room upgrade as a returned guest & no fuss check in!

This also caused confusion up until check out as the hotel could not see evidence of our payment from their end.
We arrived early and they made things very easy for us when it came to storing our luggage and checking in.
Raymond went above and beyond by offering helpful recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The check-in process takes about 10 minutes, so when there are many people, you may need to wait for a while.
It's illogical to expect an 11 year old to share a bed with her parents (she stayed on the couch).
Check in/out location too small to accommodate, very crowded because there are a lot of people arriving and departing.

It’s rare to meet someone who combines professionalism with such warmth—thank you, Raymond, for making check-in such a pleasure!
Actual check in at the hotel was quick as you will receive an email for online check in.
Apparently, this was not communicated internally because the next day we were called at 12:00 to check out.

Had to ask twice for an Iron to be delivered to room - not a big problem.
Booking.com had said we could check in from 11am, but the hotel had no idea about that.
Luckily I could produce evidence of the transaction though the check in/out staff were still hesitant.

They couldn’t work out how to do two invoices, two rooms, but one person paying both.
The welcome on arrival was non existent and gave the feeling of being an inconvenience.
- ask for late check out, but still knock at our door at 12

Gym: What guests say
View Amara Singapore68 relevant reviews
Gym feedback is mixed: many guests found it clean, well equipped, or sufficient for a quick workout, but it is often described as small, basic, dated, or below five-star standards. Recurring issues include damaged or nonworking equipment, humidity, missing disinfectant and leaking ceilings; complimentary access to nearby Fitness First is a notable advantage.

Also one of two trademills was not working properly as it said every minute „no person detected“ and you were forced to press the ok button every minute otherwise the trademill would have stopped.
Not sure if the gym and hotel pool have also been renovated (didn’t look it), but the gym equipment at least was in pretty poor condition and all the treadmills were not working :/
The gym and pool were good not great - but again, you are in Singapore and you want to be out and about so I doubt this is a huge problem.

The gym space has potential for a couple of new equipments but it is wasted by the placement of overly big useless and outdated machine.
The gym, pool area and adjoining toilets are in ABYSMAL condition - they're dirty, equipment is decades old & the place just looks abandoned.
The benefits of The Club such as full access to the Freedom Gym attached to the hotel and happy hour drinks are very welcome.

The hotel's gym was in poor shape, but they offered free access to the fitness first next door to make up for it.
Gym facilities could have been better - very small for the size of the hotel and unable to wipe down equipment after use
The gym is in need of an upgrade and refresh because it looks dated with the old equipment.

I also used the gym which is small but has a decent amount of cardio machines and weights.
Gym (and that is a rarity) with well-functioning equipment and really clean, provided with water and towels.
There is a gym and a swimming pool on the 6th floor, which are both quite nice.

Even the gym was much better than expected, they have a bench with bars and free weights.
Loved the pool and the gym (while small) had the essentials for our 4 nights in Singapore.
The gym was extremely humid, so much so that all the weights and machines were wet.

Pool and gym were small but were not the main points for us so was fine.
The gym was well equipped but there was no desinfectant to clean the machines.
Oh Must say you also get a free pass to Fitness First in Mall.

Access to a real gym is something I've never encountered and was just amazing.
And a well-equipped gym, which were great amenities to have during our stay.
My husband used the gym and was happy it had a rowing machine.

The pool area and gym were tidy and there was plenty of space.
The pool area and gym were lovely additions too.
Loved using the Fitness first gym next door.

The gym is from the last century
The pool area and gym were nice.
The gym and pool were great.

Little gym with all your need
Nice pool & gym.
A very good gym.

Restaurant: What guests say
View Amara Singapore66 relevant reviews
Guests consistently praise the wide range of on-site and nearby restaurants, generally good food, and the excellent, highly regarded Jigger & Pony bar. Dining service is often friendly but sometimes inconsistent. Recurring negatives include expensive food and drinks, the bar closing around 11 PM, limited vegetarian and club-lounge choices, and occasional overly salty or low-quality dishes.

Afternoon is for those who need a sugar fix (sweet pastries), and the evening for those who need fried finger food (fried chicken wings, thighs, nuggets etc), all very dry and not the "delicious hot savoury items" as advertised.
Does not cater well to vegetarians - I have stayed a number of times in the property using the club lounge - I have requested more vegetarian options but this has not yet been attended to.
Nothing much but the club offering despite looking good and having nice staff had very poor F&B - almost nothing to eat and cheap wines, third rate offering for people paying for club stay.

The famous Jigger & Pony bar (World's top 50 and Asia's top 50) is inside the hotel, it is indeed an amazing bar and I highly recommend that you check the bar out.
Thanks to Yogis (the gentleman- hope I gotten his name spelled right) his hospitality is great and the team of service staff at the restaurant were helpful too.
When we received the bill I told them I would like to use the $70 credit she informed me ok but you can not have 20% discount.

If you partake of the breakfast buffet arriving after 8-8.30am, you will sit outside, super busy, crowded, inability to accommodate all the guests wanting breakfast.
I also tried the char kway teow, which had that smoky 'wok hei' taste and a generous amount of prawns and Chinese sausage too.
Had to be in card and if you had booked through a platform like Booking.com you couldn’t put any charges to the room.

I particularly enjoyed the lobby bar as the staff were friendly and fun, though they lacked great options outside of wine and champagne.
Maybe the restaurant staff can be abit more proactive in assisting with seating especially when majority of the guests come down for breakfast.
If you wanted a drink to have with your lunch you had to trot out to the bar to get it.

Next to the hotel is a sort of shopping center and behind it is the Izakaya restaurant, which is highly recommended.
Nice snacks and drinks. The chicken nuggets, the fish cookies, the fried chicken, the bubbles and white wine are super tasty!
Breakfast is very limited, quickly runs out but is peaceful compared to the chaos downstairs in the restaurant for the buffet.

We ordered and after half an hour they called us to tell us that they could not prepare the requested dishes.
Downstairs breakfast was better but could also be better with regular items elsewhere missing such as smoked salmon and dumplings.
The area is full of restaurants (with the Maxwell hawker just a 5-minute walk away) and yet very quiet.

Café Oriental – Their Hainanese chicken rice was spot on – super tender chicken and fragrant rice.
The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options—from cold cuts to hearty Asian dishes.
A nice bar for a simple late evening drink and or a morning coffee.

Not a huge variety of food, some minor changes made to the daily offerings.
We decided to have dinner at the hotel and use our $70 credit.
Dinner, served in the same area, was a much more enjoyable experience.

We were surprised that children were allowed in the Club Bar
Manager of the restaurant was very professional and extremely polite.
Service in the dining room was hit and miss.

We had a team lunch at the Element restaurant.
Said no take it back please and bring starters.
Loved the food at The Manor at AWADH.

There is a metro station and bus stops nearby, we used public transport to get to the main attractions - very convenient!
The cleanliness of the place, the nice pool, and the fact that it is well served by public transport
Close to train line and the 145 bus out front of Hotel was easy for a visit to Sentosa.

About a 7 minute walk to the nearest MRT, Tanjong Pagar, where we could access the east/west line.
You can book a cab from lobby and within couple of minutes it arrives at your lobby.
For those who don’t want to walk, there is an MRT station just around the corner.

Close to MRT and buses to take you to all the places in Singapore.
He also looked after my baggage as I was on a late flight home.
Longer to the nearest MRT than I had envisaged.

Hotel was easily accessible from MRT.
Good connection to the MRT
Public transport conveniently close.

The Parking provided was for one exit, meaning you cannot use your car until you check out or you have to pay for normal parking fees which is quite expansive in the business district.
The parking is at basement to go from the mall beside.
There is only 1 complimentary parking entry per day.

There’s not wellness center or Spa regardless what they are saying.
Strange acces to toilets and abandoned spa.
Spa didn’t work again.

Spa didn’t work.
