Capella Bangkok Reviews: Everything Guests Say

We reviewed 177 guest reviews of Capella Bangkok and found specific, relevant feedback in 117 of them. We’ve organised these insights by topic so you can quickly see what guests say about different aspects of the accommodation.
To focus on substantive guest feedback, 60 reviews with little or no specific information were left out of the analysis.

Earlier in the month, we stayed at the Four Seasons Bangkok, where the service felt far more personalized — from being warmly welcomed back by the hotel manager to thoughtful welcome gifts and exceptional attention to detail throughout our stay.
This is my first experience with Capella (as someone who has been to over 1000 hotels and all major luxury brands) - not sure if this is the kind of standard the brand is trying to convey.
What a fantastic experience of staying in Capella, everything is perfectly good: the food, the service, the hotel location, river view, the room, the pillow and bed is so comfortable, definitely will come back someday soon!

Final Thoughts: Capella Bangkok is in a league of its own. Every single department, from guest services to food, wellness, and security, worked together seamlessly to create an experience that was luxurious and totally personal.
Set right on the river in the heart of the city, the hotel captures all the life and movement of Bangkok while still offering a sense of complete tranquility the moment you step inside.
So overall, IMO hotel itself is just OK, nothing we have not experienced in countless excellent hotels around the world, but the quality of food and general service levels leave much to be desired.

We have previously stayed at both Capella Sydney and Capella Hanoi, and on both occasions were extremely impressed by the exceptional service and high standard of the hotel facilities.
During this trip, we stayed at three different hotels and resorts, but none of them compare to Capella Bangkok, not just in Bangkok, but anywhere in the world.
Our recent stay at Capella Bangkok was pleasant in many ways and the property itself is beautiful, the staff are genuinely friendly, and the facilities are excellent.

While this positioning may appeal to a very specific audience, the overall experience did not align with the expectations set by its global rankings or reputation.
If you’re in Bangkok and looking for world-class cocktails combined with heartfelt hospitality and unforgettable live music, Stella Bar is the place to be.
Regrettably, the overall experience left a negative impression and has made us hesitant to consider returning to Capella Hotels in the future.

I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for a luxury stay that combines elegance, comfort, and truly world-class service.
I recently stayed at Capella Bangkok for three nights in November, and it was a good hotel experience overall.
My sincere thanks to the leadership and every team member for an extraordinary stay that I’ll never forget.

This hotel elevates luxury with its meticulous attention to detail, sincere hospitality, and outstanding service across all departments.
On the other hand, they remembered it was our birthday celebration and prepared a cake for us!
The atmosphere is both vibrant and intimate, making it the perfect spot for a special night out.

Nothing short of top notch service the moment you step into the hotel till you leave.
You can submit song requests, and the singers perform them so beautifully it leaves you breathless.
Lobby decor is lovely, staff are absolutely delightful and even check in was stellar.

That said, these were small drawbacks in what was otherwise an excellent stay.
The Capella is a serene oasis in the middle of crazy Bangkok.
Impeccable service truly personalized to the smallest detail for my entire family.

Perfect, one of the best hotels I ever stayed in Life
I came to try the afternoon tea at this hotel.
Calm and ease vibes, food and baverages are excellent.

One of the best Hotel I have stayed.
One of the best hotels in the world
A stay that truly deserves top marks.

Huge thanks to the wonderful staff who made my stay unforgettable: (Front of House/Curates) Khun Tik, Khun Sandy, Khun Netty, Khun Am, Khun Pek, (Spa & Gym) Khun May, Khun Ami, Khun Nui, Khun Nancy, Khun Win, Khun Ice, Khun Som, and Gwen and Anurag at Côte, plus Khun Beam and Khun Nutty at Phra Nakhon.
In particular, I heartily wanna express my sincere appreciation to Netty, who spent much time introducing the facilities and surroundings nearby, and more than once asked us what else she could do for making our stay a better one.
A quick example: I asked Sandy a question about restaurants at the Concierge desk. About fifteen minutes later, she tracked me down all the way by the riverside to personally walk me through the list she’d put together.

Have to mention that one afternoon I came back to find my cell phone’s messy charging cable so nicely tidied up with a beautiful Capella leather cable tie - now that is something I won’t forget.
On several occasions, there was no one available to greet arriving guests or assist with transportation when leaving the property — something that felt out of character for a hotel of this caliber.
From the very beginning, she made me feel welcome, offering to carry my laptop to the table and attentively checking in to ensure that my friend and I had everything we needed.

Allow me to thank Por and many other staff who look after us at breakfast each morning, and I’m truly so sorry for not being able to remember all their names.
A heartfelt thank you to Khun Rotsukhon , Khun Monpriya and the Culturist manager Pack (along with the entire Capella team) for their warm and genuine hospitality start to finish.
A big shout out to the hotel GM Antonio and his team of dedicated staff many of whom we were lucky to see from our previous visit a year ago.

From the moment I arrived, Khun Pop and the wonderful Culturist team welcomed me back with such warmth and genuine care, it truly set the tone for another unforgettable stay.
The Belldesk team handled everything perfectly, from airport transfers to taxis always smiling and making sure our bags were safe and we got where we needed to go on time.
I was there with my father celebrating his 90th birthday and they took special care to make sure that all his request requests and details were attended to.

Special thanks to Khun Kwang, Khun Seefoun, Khun Yang and Khun Aom, each of you made my experience even more special with your kindness and attention to detail.
Every detail felt so thoughtful, from the personalised touches in the room to the warm greetings from staff who seemed to anticipate our every need.
Each individual demonstrated a deep passion for their work, a sense of pride in their role, and an undeniable happiness that filled the air.

After showing the message exchange, the staff agreed that I should not be charged and adjusted the bill accordingly, which I appreciated.
The staff are very warm and helpfel, they kept smile all the time and can remember our preference very well.
I would like to thank Khun Bank for his seamless service during the arrival and check in process

Her service was thoughtful and professional, and she carried herself with such grace, always well-groomed and presentable.
We met a new manager whom is Miriam Nino. She is very friendly and her team.
Khun Bitoey is one with details oriented individual whom exudes a sincere act of services.

The staff member named Khun Fah has excellent presentation skills regarding the types of tea.
Congratulations to General Manager Antonio and his team for running such an extraordinary operation.
Basic requests, including bottled water and simple breakfast take-away packaging, required multiple follow-ups.

I was warmly assisted by a staff member named Fah throughout my visit.
Yok very nice and great service, she know our name and helpful us.
The pool staff, Oat, Golf and thon are very helpful and polite.

Everyone seems to know you and greet you kindly and with authenticity.
All staff are excellent and they make guests feel like home.
Communication is good with staff who are somewhat fluent in English.

Room is perfect and they have thought about every little details you might need from the amenities to being able to text to get your bath run.
I had an exceptional stay at The Capella Bangkok- it was serene, spacious and a beautiful designed room with a little balcony with stunning river views.
The room, the pano river view, the amenities such as auto curtains, the welcome champagne, the bathroom details, and lastly the bed was just incredibly comfortable.

The room stood out right away, large and beautifully put together, with a peaceful river view that sets the tone for the whole stay.
However, when "do not disturb" light was on, service person did not leave a message to ask if service is still needed later.
Every room faces the water, and I especially recommend the Riverfront Premier rooms on the upper floors for solo travellers or couples.

The rooms are spacious, tranquil, and come with a lovely balcony that’s useful when you just want a break from the air-conditioning.
Meanwhile, as we are Discovery Titanium members, we were privileged to be upgraded to a SUPER splendid suite, Capella suite, 212.
There's also a complimentary lemon tart and a little bit of room decorations for the early celebration of my wife's birthday

Also, the bed here is very excellent feels like the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in my life.
Commonly expected features in contemporary luxury hotels—such as smart toilets, high-end hair dryers, or advanced in-room technology—were notably absent.
When we entered it, there was a dessert, balloons, and a sign that said “happy honeymoon” waiting for us.

Room door scratching on the floor on opening, judging by the marks had been doing so for some time.
The nightly turndown service was particularly charming, featuring soothing aromas, soft lighting, and thoughtful touches that enhanced our evenings.
There is also a balcony where guests can lay down on the couch to enjoy tea and the sunset.

Everything feels considered and effortless, making it an ideal place to retreat after a day in the city.
It offered a breathtaking view of the Chao Phraya River which was stunning during both day and night.
The suite was beautifully designed with stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, offering both comfort and serenity.

Everything, including room service and lighting in the room, can be controlled by a Pad in the room.
No written words can be used to describe how elegantly upholstered, and beautifully furnished the suit is.
Honestly, it is truly the best suite I have ever stayed in my hotel experiences so far.

Large dressing room, stunning views of the river through massive windows, and a gorgeous bathroom.
We were upgraded to a larger suite than the one we had booked.
There are two sinks, a big center bath tub and separate shower/toilet room.

Every word was clearly audible from our room.
All soft drink in the refrigerator is free.
The suites are large and well maintained.

Our room facing the river was gorgeous.
Daily turn down service is provided.
The river view are beautiful.

I recommend dining on the Phra Nakhon restaurant patio as the food was delicious and beautifully presented while watching the boats coming by (especially at night) makes it a magical experience.
Breakfast at Phra Nakhon was one of my favourites, with à la carte service, a wonderful selection, fresh flavours, and a relaxed atmosphere by the river.
The desserts were delightful, with a wonderful variety of sweets to enjoy, and the tea selection was equally impressive, offering the perfect complement to the experience.

Soak in the best local flavours in any of their restaurants, and the quality is by far one of the best I had in bangkok!
If you’re looking for a place with flavorful cocktails, great stories, a beautiful atmosphere, and lovely staff – Steall Bar is definitely worth a visit.
Phra Nakhon lunch probably the most uninspiring Pad Thai we have eaten in years, many traditional ingredients not used, prawns simply mush, not fresh.

The Tea Lounge Team, BT, Eye, Fah, Vam, and Bamb, prepared me the most delicious High-Tea and pampered me with their dedicated services.
Under the leadership of F&B Director Jeffrey and Chef Thierry, the food and service were exceptional; many guests raved about the quality.
I had the pleasure of visiting Stella Bar at Capella Bangkok today and was impressed from the moment I walked in.

Thai dinner there was also lovely, and Côte by Mauro Colagreco offered an elegant multi-course experience with thoughtful Thai touches.
My only disappointment was the Banquet we had at the Thai restaurant. Just was not that good sorry to say.
The Culturist team secured a reservation for me at a particular restaurant, which is usually very difficult to get.

I was truly impressed by their performance; every little step in serving the tea set was gentle and graceful.
Dining was an absolute highlight — every meal was exquisite, showcasing the perfect balance of flavour, creativity, and presentation.
This was truly one of the most memorable bar experiences I’ve had in Bangkok, and I will definitely return!

Especially, I appreciate that the tea lounge can accommodate vegetarians with a special tweak to the tea set.
Khun Tarn, Khun Snooker, Khun Yok, and Khun Bella also took great care of us with true professionalism.
Buffet food was of mixed quality, sashimi actually very acceptable as was the roast beef and pork.

The Thai restaurant Phra Nakhon serves authentic Thai food with the best sunset view on the river.
The dishes were both flavorful and artfully presented; each plate a harmonious blend of tradition and artistry.
Even though you don't stay here, it is nice to come and have lunch or afternoon tea.

We’ll come back here next time for sure as service here very excellent.
We ordered soft boiled egg, this morning, but all 3 came in hard.
They all provided excellent, high-quality service at the English Tea Lounge.

They elevated my experience and turned it into something memorable 🙏.
We had the pleasure of dining at Phra Nakhon for lunch.
The atmosphere is luxurious and private, yet warm and welcoming.

I came to try the afternoon tea at this hotel.
It’s clear they take pride in what they do.
The desserts are impressive and more delicious 😋

Plus, when you walk out of the hotel you don’t feel the bustle and hustle, and on the contrary, the peace and tranquility make you feel like you are at a resort in Bali instead.
The area may not be as convenient but with the shuttle service to Sathorn pier like every half an hour, it is not that a trouble to travel around the city.
Despite being in bustling Bangkok, it feels quiet, modern, and serene, thanks to its beautiful location right by the Chao Phraya River and lower density of rooms.

I went to a bar in Capella Bangkok which is called STELLA where my friends and I had had a wonderful evening together.
First, the riverfront location, while guaranteeing river-facing rooms, delivers a surprisingly plain outlook, compounded by large-scale construction across the Chao Phraya.
For a property carrying a “best in the world” title, the sense of place simply isn’t compelling enough.

There is a tranquil ambience that creates a peaceful retreat away from the Bangkok’s bustling streets.
Capella Bangkok is one of those rare city hotels that immediately puts you at deep ease.
Bangkok is a noisy, dirty, busy city with terrible traffic fumes and a constant bustle.

People are often torn between the Mandarin Oriental, the Four Seasons, and the Capella.
But after staying in Capella Bangkok this time, I have completely changed my mind.
The location, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere of the property were also excellent.

The hotel is also well designed and located by Chao Phraya river.
The ceiling to floor glass view of the Chaopraya River was great.
The Capella, by contrast, is a small, beautiful, and tranquil respite.

Making us feel totally safe and secure without being overbearing.
Nice bar near the River of the king
Excellent location, great hospitality, and efficient service.

Visiting the busy city of Bangkok.
The riverside setting is tranquil.
Location great....nice serene area.

Location superb.

Not only are various main courses cooked delicately and tastefully offered , but also fresh fruits, yogurt, pastries, nuts…..are displayed as the buffet.
Breakfast was incredible also, they offer complimentary in room dining but we decided to go to the restaurant for all 3 meals.
The included breakfast buffet was incredible, with loads of local treats, quail eggs, and the most delicious chia pudding.

The selection was modest and the overall quality was unremarkable, particularly when measured against the hotel’s positioning and accolades.
There was an expansive menu to choose from, all made to order and very high quality dishes.
Not to mention of the delicious breakfast with a huge selection from the menu.

Breakfast has great variety of a la minute dishes and all are delicious.
Daily breakfast is included with a wide variety of Thai and Western food.
Breakfast was a highlight with real local flavours and plenty of variety.

The breakfast was perhaps the best hotel experience I have ever had.
Breakfast was huge and generous both a la carte and buffet.
Breakfast is exceptional with the best service one can expect.

Congratulations on the quality of the food and the service.
Breakfast is another highlight to me in the stay.
Breakfast has many choices and food is good!

You will definitely want to try everything.
Service is excellent plus nice breakfast.
But don’t miss the breakfast spread.

Breakfast experience was limited.
Breakfast made to order
Daily breakfast spread.

Fantastic included breakfast.

I loved the clean and zen-looking facilities: from the rain shower, sauna and hot bubble pool, and my treatments were excellent and deeply relaxing.
This is my first time to do a Thai massage and oil spa, it was really strong but feel so gentle.
The bath facility with a hot pool is quiet and there was a relaxing room for rest after the message.

I love the Spa experience as my therapist Zoda gave me one of the best massage ever.
We could use the spa facilities for a steam and a hot spa after a work out.
I used the sauna facilities every day and booked two massage treatments during my Capella stay.

Special thanks to Som for her consultation, to Annie and Nancy for their professional massage skills.
Big thanks to Khun Nancy and Khun Army who made my spa experience very exceptional.
I love their hot stone lounge bed which I feel so relax after the spa.

The best spa in my life and good price even I travel around the world
The therapists were amazing, totally tailoring each treatment to us, so professional and graceful.
Auriga wellness will always be my top list of spa in Bangkok.

I had an amazing time at Auriga spa at Capella Bangkok.
The treatments were among the best I’ve experienced in Bangkok.
After a long-exhausting week, I got myself totally pampered.

Can‘t wait to experience it next time in Bangkok!
The massage was the best I have ever had.
I actually enjoyed the spa treatment at Auriga Wellness.

Super clean, quiet and with an amazing spa.
I also liked the Auriga spa a lot.
The spa facilities were clean and well maintained.

Thanks Nancy for the comfortable Spa, really enjoy!
The spa therapist, Annie, her skill is excellent.
They give great spa information and advice.

Auriga Spa was such a peaceful escape.
Had an amazing experience with their spa.
Tofu and Rin therapists are wonderful.

The Auriga Spa was a highlight.
Nancy is my therapist
She is great

Additionally, the visibility of the villa roofs from various areas of the property (e.g., from Côte restaurant) is not ideal and, in my opinion, detracts from the overall hotel design.
Another nice idea is the happy hour, where you get drinks for free and can connect with the management of the house or with other guests.
The art tour, yoga, and make-your-own yadom session were all enjoyable and no additional costs, but the meditation session (paid program) with Monk Prasert stood out.

Key amenities—such as the hot pool and the complimentary boat service across the river—were not communicated at any point and were only discovered independently.
The “living room” (one could also call it the reception) is actually a large room where you can have refreshments all day for free.
Late afternoons/evenings at The Living Room were another treat, with their creative Thai tonic yadong shots and friendly chats with the staff.

I was also delighted by the variety of activities under the Capella Curates program.
They really put a lot of thinking and effort on the needs of guests.
Stella Bar is beautiful, live music is fun and serve great cocktails.

The hotel felt a bit less private due to higher occupancy.
The hotel’s facilities are world-class, elegant, and perfectly maintained.
The place is elegant, cozy, and full of character.

The facilities and amenities are perfect and well designed.
Capella Bangkok is in a league of its own.
...their amenities were top shelf products like Aesop.

The gym was great especially the daily classes.
The grounds in the hotel are beautiful.
A lot of fun resort activities.

Thoughtfulness of their services and facilities.
Daily happy hour is also included.
The overall experience was exceptional.

The hotel is boutique size.
The grounds are lovely too.

We arrived on an early flight and departed late the following day, so when our room was not ready until after 4:30 p.m. and we were unable to secure a late check-out, it had a greater impact on our stay than it might have otherwise.
I had already informed the staff at check-in that we would be checking out early, yet was asked the same question twice more, received a letter under the door about it, and another reminder by email.
If I may offer one small suggestion for improvement: our room was only ready around 4 PM, which was a bit later than expected and slightly impacted our plans for the day.

Upon arrival, guests are escorted to a check in area called "Living room" where guests can sit down and relax while the staff completes the paper work for checking in.
Check takes way too long, sat waiting almost 20 minutes while staff took care of check in, which takes couple of minutes elsewhere.
The staff who was checking in for me apologized and treated me lunch in their Phra Nakhon cafe.

From the seamless airport pick-up to the smooth check-in and check-out, the entire experience was impeccable.
The team provided a welcoming and efficient check-in, setting a delightful tone for our stay.
Upon check in, I was fully hospitalized by door staff and front desk staff.

A smoother or earlier check-in process would definitely enhance the overall guest experience.
We got a room even though we arrived at 9am+ in the morning
Although I arrived at the check in time, my room was not ready.

Ensuring that check-in, checkout, and every moment in between flowed smoothly.
In fact, it was not ready at around 4 pm.
Seamless service during the arrival and check in process

All procedures from check-in to check-out were smooth.
Check in experience was first class
From early check in

I had the pleasure of joining Milky’s TRX class, and she was absolutely amazing, so energetic, knowledgeable, and motivating! A real highlight of my visit.
It was such a fun and energising experience, and my trainer, Khun May, was patient, clear, and encouraging.
I also took a private Muay Thai class that came with a massage and lunch.

We loved the gym, and I trained Muay Thai.
The gym is quite small and lacks character.
Two staff members continuously watched, which felt uncomfortable.

Very modern fitness center
Gym was good

Upon arrival, I received a call from the hotel advising that a driver was waiting for us at the airport — by which time we were already en route in another vehicle.
Based on that information, I arranged separate transportation through a third-party service we had used earlier in the month during our stay at the Four Seasons Bangkok.
Getting around Bangkok is not easy so being on the river with the shuttle boat to Icon Siam is a great convenience.

Prior to arrival, I asked whether an airport transfer had been arranged, as I couldn’t recall the details of our initial booking.
The shuttle boat shared by the hotel and the Four Seasons can take guests to the shopping mall area.
If the service is not automated, I would be concerned about the lack of attentiveness and understanding displayed.

The response provided various transport options and requested our flight details, implying that no transfer had been organized.
Hotel offers frequent shuttle boats to and from Icon Siam and Sky train stops.
Additionally, our experience with the WhatsApp guest messaging service was disappointing.

Free river boat service.

The pool overlooks the villa roofs with artificial lawns, and the river is mostly obscured by trees, making the view disappointing—especially for a hotel in this price range.
Fortunately, the weather was not hot enough for me to need to use the pool; otherwise, it would have been a major issue.
I sincerely hope the hotel considers renovating the pool area to create a design that provides a better river view.

While the service and people were excellent, I want to mention one major concern: the pool design.
As a result, I did not spend any time in the pool area.
The pool staff, Oat, Golf and thon are very helpful and polite.

The saltwater pool by the river added a touch of true luxury.
Amazing pool and staff.
