Reviews overwhelmingly praise Anantara Riverside Bangkok for its beautiful tropical gardens, riverside setting, peaceful resort atmosphere, clean comfortable rooms, excellent service, friendly professional staff, varied facilities, and memorable breakfasts. Repeat guests, honeymooners, and families often plan to return. However, renovation, demolition, and construction disrupted some stays, while one review found it expensive and below Anantara standards.

Well it was not like the first experiance first experiance was amazing went again average 3rd time probably look for another hotel as i spend a lot of money so expected better sorry
Really nothing special - the hotel is not very new, and from our balconies there was not a very pleasant view - but that was of little significance.
We wanted extra nice for our 3 day stay and there was no jostling for poolside position or best breakfast table, there was plenty of everything!

The hotel should shut for a couple of weeks and not carry on this level of work when there are paying customers on holiday.
I am greeted with boat after boat engine noise from the river and the occasional lorry engine and siren from the river bridge.
A great Bangkok hotel choice for families with a desire to explore the city but escape back to a tranquil well appointed.

It is rare to find a place that feels both luxurious and deeply peaceful, vibrant and calming at the same time.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay for a few days at the Anantara Riverside Spa Hotel in Bangkok.
It's a good hotel for enjoying a hotel stay in Bangkok, but it's not ideal for a sightseeing base.

Unfortunately, my stay fell far short of my expectations and I feel compelled to share my feedback with you.
Fantastic hotel for families with direct access to the river and free transport to the city’s river transport.
The resort provided a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of Bangkok and created beautiful memories for us.

This is a seriously top class hotel, but at the same time, not stuffy and VERY FRIENDLY.
Beautiful surroundings - fantastic buffet and super service from when we were picked up at the airport.
We have been the first time here 2002 and visited since 15 times over the years.

We stayed here so we could do the Manohra dinner cruise and the combination was excellent.
However, I might choose this place again even if I planned to stay only one night.
Overall it was brilliant, we wish we'd spent longer here, and will definitely be returning.

This is about our 8th stay and we book two rooms for us and family.
I loved the boutique vibe this hotel had but that seems to have gone now.
Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities in a peaceful riverside location.

If the opportunity arises, I also recommend taking a dinner cruise at least once.
I will definitely come back, you should stay here and will be very happy.
It's their core strength, how they treat the guests with utmost care & love.

The Anantara Riverside Resort provided an amazing experience during recent visit to Bangkok.
Since it's a hotel where you can fully enjoy the resort atmosphere, it would be great if your purpose is to relax, but if it's your first time in Thailand and you want to enjoy sightseeing, shopping, and dining to the fullest, it might be a bit unsuitable.
There are 3 C’s that are important to me when choosing a hotel for myself and my family when going on a vacation…Comfort , Cleanliness and Cuisine that completes my circle, but what makes it truly special and exceptional is the Resort Team.

The views and selection of entertainment and food are 2nd to none, but above all else it is the staff, with their constant attention to detail and care that made it such an unforgettable experience
From the very first moment, the resort felt like a peaceful sanctuary — lush, green, grounding and beautifully calm, while still being right in the middle of the energy of this incredible megacity.
If you are looking for a hotel in Bangkok and at the same time want to stay at a resort on an island, this hotel is as close as you can get.

Staff: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort552 relevant reviews
Staff are overwhelmingly described as exceptionally friendly, helpful, professional, attentive, and willing to go above and beyond across reception, concierge, housekeeping, dining, and the kids club. Individual staff handled hot-water and nighttime issues with care and compensation. One recurring negative is reportedly rude Anantara Club membership sales staff when guests decline.

She immediately got involved and was kind enough to offer a discount, which was amazing as we had otherwise had a very good visit, barring this one issue that occurred in the middle of the night, which distracted from an otherwise excellent stay.
The most important factor is the people -- the staffs who make the hotel even more beautiful, all of them are very friendly, kind and sincere, especially Mr.Golf.
Excellent General Manager Mr. Michael, and excellent staff like Ms Superporn, Miu, Sky, Film, Gugoof, Bee, Dada, Milktea, Mint, Bobby, Dicky, Valen, Bella, Noi etc

It is only right to mention the extraordinary Housekeeping Team as well as the Team in the breakfast area, and the Pool Attendants.
The friendliness and level of service afforded to us by the waitstaff and chefs was amongst the best we have ever encountered.
I would like to thank you Nong Peary who's assisted me with good smile and very helpful, kind and good service.

Thanks to Rayan and his team, the housekeeping, the wonderful ladies at the front desk and also from the spa.
One of the days we stayed was my birthday, and the hotel and staff made it a memorable one.
Special mention to Khun Jasmine at Kids club for taking care and entertaining our kids during our stay.

The hotel staff provide the best service you can imagine, the best hotel I have ever been to!
The warm welcome I received felt more like reuniting with friends than simply checking into a hotel.
The ladies took a great care of our kids so we could enjoy time by ourselves.

The staff were SOOOOOOOOO helpful in trying to get my passport (and camera) back to me.
The Sailors attending the guests with free transfers to some of the major attraction locations.
Reported that it was our honeymoon, unfortunately nothing from the hotel was noticed towards us...

She made us feel genuinely cared for, almost as if we were at home.
Lovely staff at concierge and housekeeping and always a warm smile and sawadi ka:).
Khob Khun Krab to Mr Micheal Parker, Khun Warut Phanomphaithoon and team Anantara.

Sas are all the staff working at the Riverside. Always friendly and efficient.
Great location of the hotel, very attentive and friendly staff, mega good breakfast
Thank You Muse, Miu and May( all the girls were so nice)

The staff, especially Henry and all the female employees, were very friendly.
Staff are the happiest, friendliest and most knowledgeable I have ever encountered
For such a large property, the service level is very high.

F&B manager was a anti propaganda for clean food and service
Also, we asked the hotel for an English speaking guide for 2 days and the guide they brought us was 1) not speaking english (or at least we could barely understand anything, 2) he was unprofessional (a bit lazy as he was always walking behind us, at temples he asked us to go in an he would wait us outside and basically would send us in places without explaining anything) and 3) I honestly doubt he was ever a guide in the first place as he did not know much about the history of Bangkok nor the places he took us to visit - really disappointing.
THE HIGHLIGHT AT THE HOTEL WAS MY GUEST RELATIONS OFFICER PEIPEI , SHE WAS AMAZING, FROM HELPING ME CHANGE MY ROOM IN A FEW MINUTES, TO GETTING MY SON REACH THE RIGHT SHOP FOR POKEMON CARDS, TO DOCTORS APPOINTMENT, GO KARTING, SHE HAD IT ALL ATTENDED REALLY WELL, I FELT SHE WAS GOING OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP WHICH I FOUND FANTASTIC AND IN FACT I HAVE ONLY SEEN SUCH SERVICE AT HOTELS WHERE THEY OFFER PERSONAL 24 HR BUTLER, BUT PEIPEI FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS ...

I don’t speak tie I just saw him kneel next to her and take out his phone and then the valet/bellman kept trying to get us a taxi after I told him we were using a cab multiple times and then he ask my fiancée where is she going and where is she from.
Younger members of staff who have already worked at the hotel for a good number of years include Khun Baz (Manohra Cruises), Khun Oor in the Elephant Bar, Khun Bobby and Khun Boor in The Market ,Khun Mae in Mocha and Muffins , and finally Frank at the swimming pool.
It was a bonus to have caring staff, who love kids and enjoyed entertaining them; especially grateful for their service when we wanted to grab a bite to eat and they took the time to look after our child (keeping her entertained and occupied with stories and games).

Rooms: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort461 relevant reviews
Rooms are often praised as spacious, clean, well-equipped, and exceptionally comfortable, especially the beds and riverfront balconies. However, repeated complaints cite dated or worn furnishings, dark bathrooms, old or noisy plumbing, faulty fixtures, and inconsistent housekeeping. River views can be excellent, but some rooms face parking, tennis courts, or solar panels and may be noisy.

The view from the room was quite unpleasant, it was a flat roof which would possibly be improved with some nice planting but as we didn’t spend much time in our room it really didn’t affect our stay.
We only stayed 2 nights in a standard room, as we were outside of the room around the massive resort property or exploring the city but this is a true gem.
I didn't find it very well, but it seems that a lot of water is leaking through the gap in the shower booth door, so it might need some attention...!?

The room facing the parking lot, we kept the curtains closed throughout our 3-day stay, it was too depressing and directly facing, so it was not possible.
The rooms that do not face the river or the pool overlook some gardens that have nothing green about them but are just apartment blocks.
Room was a little small but the bathroom was a good size and we had a small terrace looking out onto the river.

Nice view from the room, nice room and common areas, very little noise, very good cleaning, as well as a good gym.
Some aspects of the rooms are starting to look a little dated, but some people like us may find that charming.
In the end, I had to pay extra to upgrade the room, but this process was not very smooth at all.

After changing rooms due to a faulty toilet, the view of the hotel complex and the river was very nice.
Balcony overlooking pool and river (we had 507, I think it was an upgrade from the standard we'd booked).
The facilities are aging, and there is a big difference between the comfortable rooms and those that are not.

Didn’t like exactly where my room was booked as far as the view, but it was still nice
The baby cot comes with a pillow case and blanket, which are printed with a Christmas design.
Then no explanations regarding how to adjust the air conditioning or how to turn off the lights

Our room overlooked the Bangkok River so there was an endless parade for us to watch.
The housekeeping service never folded our clothes, and the bathroom was consistently messy throughout our stay.
Upgraded to a lovely riverside view room which was perfect as was the pool area.

But the bathroom in the room had some problems to control the temperature of water.
Many feel dated, with mismatched furniture, peeling bathtubs, broken fixtures, and exposed filler patches.
We were upgraded from last time which we appreciate and the view was good

Our bedroom was beautiful, with wonderful views over the river and the pool.
The rooms are spacious and very nice, and the beds are very comfortable.
Our first impressions of the hotel are disappointing to say the least.

The rooms were very nice with a great View on the River
If I were to say one thing, we stayed in a room on the opposite side of the riverside. From the balcony, the view included a car parking lot, which slightly brought me back from the extraordinary feeling to reality, haha.
We stayed here previously with a river view in the main building and this was great - the second building with car park view and wedding venue music (so loud all day no one could hear anything) was not good.

The room was not particularly nice, the view was directly into a parking garage and although I had requested a double bed in advance, we had to wait at the reception until they found a double bed for us.
The balcony are very close together so the only thing I didn't like was hearing the next room blast music and shout while talking but that's just down to the individuals that were are neighbours and not the hotel.
My only negative is that we booked a river view room (more expensive) but it was so noisy all night long as it is a busy working river and our sleep was disturbed several times a night.

Location: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort421 relevant reviews
Exceptional riverside setting with peaceful resort atmosphere, scenic views, and convenient access to major sights via the free shuttle boat to Sathorn Pier/BTS and IconSiam. A shopping center, restaurants, groceries, and cheaper meals are nearby. However, the hotel is somewhat outside central Bangkok, with traffic-dependent travel and occasional concerns about shuttle frequency and accessibility.

The hotel is located a little further away than most of the things going on but they offer a lovely boat service up the river which is a lovely way to travel into the heart of the city.
The hotel is a bit outside, and you have to take the hotel's boat across the river to the city rail every day or to the station for the Icon (shopping center).
The free shuttle service with the traditional junk boat allows you to get to the ICONSIAM shopping center and the BTS without any difficulty. This is a real plus.

One of the best experience was the long tail boat cruise discovering the old canals of Bangkok with the talented Diamond as our tour guide.
The feeling of entering a completely different world is what you experience after driving through the city from the airport to this lovely haven.
Location as it takes a while (boat/bts or taxi) to get to the heart of bangkok, with few places to walk by around.

It was nice being out of the hussle and bustle of the other side of the river and was not an inconvenience.
Location on the outskirts of the city, thus quiet and spacious complex, but perfect connection with the hotel's own boat shuttle.
Also with a free shuttle boat so you can easily get to shopping and other things by skytrain or boat.

The pool area was very busy making it difficult to find a spot if you were not there early.
IconSiam (eateries, shops, entertainment, giant soft play) was also really easy to get to on the shuttle boat.
Located on the riverside and handy shuttle service over to BTS to allow access to central Bangkok.

Convenient shopping mall located directly behind with many services - hair salon, nail salon, beauty treatments, etc.
Being able to float over the river is so much nicer than being stuck in traffic.
Good location but the service is not at the level of a 5-star hotel in Bangkok

To go to the other side of the river u need 15 m to 35 m
There is a free shuttle boat that takes you to the main parts of town.
The location was perfect for us, as we were deliberately looking for peace and relaxation.

The shuttle boat links conveniently to the BTS, making travel to central areas easy.
A delightful green oasis on the riverfront, perfect for families with children seeking relaxation.
Great location on the river outside the wilder areas of Bangkok to just relax.

The boat shuttle from the hotel to the BTS station is very pleasant.
Fabulous location away from the busy capital 15 minutes shuttle boat ride.
A haven of greenery and calm right in the heart of Bangkok.

If you want the resort within a city vibe this is perfect.
There were too many people, we couldn't reserve a table for dinner and watch the fireworks, on January 1 they didn't increase the breakfast schedule, we requested a room with a view of the river, and it couldn't be done either, in short, it's not worth paying so much for either...
Location 10++++, Bangkok is right next door, yet the air quality is better, no traffic jams as the hotel's beautiful, traditional boats take you either to the large Iconsiam shopping center or to the skytrain station, from where you can continue your journey anywhere without stopping at traffic lights.

They also seem to have a few locals riding the shuttle - not just guests - that get on an off at stops between the hotel’s pier and the last stop so if you’re not at the front of the queue, you do actually risk not getting on!
I visited this hotel quite often this time i stayed at Junior suite room Anantara Riverside Bangkok is ideal if you want a luxury, relaxing riverside stay with plenty of facilities on site, and you don’t mind being a short shuttle boat ride from central city attractions.
We knew the location was a bit outside the main city center, and this actually ended up being a positive because we felt like we were a little away from it all, but that should be a consideration when selecting this location.

Breakfast: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort413 relevant reviews
Breakfast is the standout feature: guests repeatedly praise an exceptionally large, fresh, high-quality buffet spanning Asian and Western food, with made-to-order eggs, noodles and dosas, plus attractive river-view indoor/outdoor seating. Recurring drawbacks are crowds, occasional inattentive or slow coffee service, high pricing when excluded, limited European choices, and birds around tables.

The breakfast is one of the best we’ve ever experienced, with dishes from all over the world with lovely river view outside seating or air conditioned indoor seating.
The buffet had a lot of choices but my diet is quite different so would have preferred to see more of the continental breakfast choices
There was an extensive Asian choice, limited european options in my opinion...nevertheless we never left hungry...you just need to recalibrate your tastebuds!

Food for evening and breakfast dining was of the best quality I have experienced with perfect surroundings looking across the river.
We take our time over breakfast, reading the Bangkok Post and working our way through small portions of many courses.
In addition, the on-site coffee and breakfast are of excellent quality, providing a pleasant start to the day.

We were expecting much better breakfast as Anantara usually does, but sadly it wasn't the case this time.
Breakfast was lovely - displayed according to different diets such as Japanese, Indian, Chinese and Western.
That was very good, there are many pigeons that eat the leftovers from the table.

The breakfast experience was absolutely amazing, with an incredible variety and excellent food quality.
The selection of fruit and cold cuts at the breakfast buffet could be better.
Breakfast - was good, but too hard work and slow to get coffee.

The breakfast is absolutely great, with a choice to sit outside or inside.
The breakfast was amazing one of the best hotel breakfast’s I’ve had.
The breakfast on the terrace next to the river is great.

Breakfast wasn’t great with a lot of choice but low quality
Choice is perfect and the staff were very helpful indeed.
The spicy noodle soup at the breakfast restaurant is tasty.

Hotel breakfast had many choices (Japanese, korean, chinese, western, etc.)
The breakfast is almost indecent because of the variety
The breakfast buffet may well be the best ever

Quality of food available at breakfast was excellent.
The breakfast was very diverse and really good.
Superb breakfast with a wide selection of products.

Breakfast was very good; the staff were fabulous.
The riverside terrace is where breakfast was served, overlooking the Chao Phraya river, the setting is stunning, scoring full marks in my favorite subject , the breakfast buffet - the ingredients and the line up of the spread are a class apart.
The peaceful Friday monks alm giving ceremony has moved to just outside the main breakfast restaurant now and that seems ridiculous - giving Alms to the monks before you are just about to feast in one of the biggest buffets in town.

The breakfast is potentially a bit overpriced if not included which it wasn't for us, over 3000 bhat for 2 adults and 1 child so around 160 NZD, bit hard to justify but there were plenty of options to choose from.
The overall impression of the breakfast is: Selection 10+ (1- spartan - 10 overwhelming selection). Quality 10+ (1- terrible - 10 highest possible quality). Value for money 10+ (1- not worth - 10 absolutely worth the money).
Although the hotel offer breakfast on the go, for those who started early for daily trips, given the price paid, I would like to have access to the breakfast that was included in the price paid.

Pool: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort268 relevant reviews
The pool is repeatedly praised as beautiful, spacious, clean, and relaxing, with lush tropical gardens, comfortable loungers, lifeguards, towels, drinking water, and a popular pool bar. Recurring drawbacks include family crowds and noisy refurbishment that closed part of the pool, plus occasional difficulty finding loungers, wet mattresses, and no pool showers.

The pool area is a delightful green sanctuary in the heart of busy Bangkok, ringed by tropical trees and lotus ponds where tropical birds sing their beautiful songs, occasionally interrupted by the sound of working tugs pulling barges up the magnificent Chao Praya River.
The pool was an attraction but nearly everyone was there every afternoon (not surprising as it was so hot and they had a happy hour) but there were often guests fighting for loungers and staff struggling to keep everyone happy.
When the guest arrived comfortably, she slapped down the towel... let's say that in a hotel like this certain things shouldn't happen and the management should address this by banning the reservation of sunbeds and creating another area anyway.

If you leave your sunbed for more than soemthing like 10 mins, the pool guards take all your stuff away and confiscate it in a little hut.
As a result, to swim, you need to look left, right, straight ahead, and up just in case, and then, while swimming, avoid them.
The only gripe was people putting towels down by the pool at 8am to reserve beds then going off for breakfast.

There are not enough sunbeds at the pool and the area around the pool was very crowded the whole day.
The pool large with plenty of loungers, would have preferred an adults only sectioned off as kids everywhere.
Totally overcrowded at the pool, felt like 100 kids and a hell of a noise, swimming impossible

We loved the set up of the hotel with the tropical gardens around the pool area.
Went swimming every morning at 7am, for six days in a row. Loved the pool!
The pool was quite nice and also the food at the pool was very tasty.

Prices for spa/massages and drinks at the pool were way too expensive for Thailand.
The pool area is an oasis with lush palms and very comfy sunbeds.
Pool was a bit crowded and could use more shade from the sun.

Our deluxe king room looked out over the beautiful pool and river.
Well, the swimming pool was a little cold if I'm honest.
Beautiful pool very pleasant but unfortunately overcrowded in the afternoon.

Swimming pool area is extraordinary, relaxing and so elegant.
The pool bar charges way too much for drinks.
There are plenty of lifeguards to ensure safety

A great resort style hotel with fabulous pool
Pool area is old and a little rundown.
The pool is huge and well located.

Fantastic hotel with a lovely pool area.
The large pool surrounded by beautiful gardens.
Very crowded, too big, no luxury feeling.

The gardens, the pool, and the riverbank
Made up for the small pool
The swimming pool gets crowded fast.

Facilities: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort208 relevant reviews
Guests consistently praise the spacious gym, sauna/steam facilities, excellent kids’ club, lush tropical gardens, varied dining, and free boat shuttle to central Bangkok. The property feels like a relaxing riverside resort and is generally clean and well maintained, but the aging pool area needs renovation, can be crowded, and pool/towels drew complaints.

If Avani guests can use the Anantara pool then I would have liked to be advised the other way around was an option too as the pool there is a rooftop pool even though it’s small - it might have provided a different experience.
It is very encouraging to see the company investing further in the hotel by renovating recently The Market and the Fitness Centre, and hopefully an ongoing programme will continue in the near future to include other areas of the hotel.
The fact that renovation works - that even continued on Sunday - where not announced in any way at reservation or afterwards, so we would have had a choice to cancel whenever you don’t want this during your holiday.

If I have to point something out, it would be that it was a bit disappointing that it was more convenient to dry swimsuits on the balcony after using the pool.
The hotel appeared to be in need of refurbishment, and the amenities were not up to the standard I expected from a hotel of this caliber.
My 4yo son had a blast at the Kids' Club (Chang Noi) under the care of friendly Khun Jasmine, Wawa & Sophia.

The resort also have activities - like Klong tour and dinner cruise which is nice experiences for first time guests.
All the babysitters did was turn on the movies and they were busy playing on their phones.
Gardens and public areas were stunning as was the pool area and the restaurants were exceptional.

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities including a very attractive pool area .
The hotel also provides a free boat service to cross over into central Bangkok.
Both me and others were seen falling over and slipping at regular intervals.

Also, I was surprised at how worn out the pool towels were!
Due to private parties at the pool, the noise disturbance was abnormal.
The ambiance is also something that was very alluring and beautiful.

Everything here is INCREDIBLY expensive for the standard of the hotel.
The tiles in the pool are slippery and feel unpleasant.
I did not use all facilities during this short stay.

The pleasant atmosphere with always fresh aroma in the lounge
Building is old and the cleanliness can be better.
The beautifully landscaped gardens and a big swimming pool.

Had a tower, slide, climbing wall, climbing rope.
The canal inside the property is added touch.
The premises are very well kept .

Dining is quite expensive by Thai standards.
Dinner show is a must go.
Toothbrush cups are still the same.

Great resort with lots of facilities!
The pool should be cleaned.
The cleaning everyday was exquisite.

Restaurant: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort181 relevant reviews
Hotel dining is varied, with several restaurants, bars, coffee shops and riverside settings. Breakfast and much of the food, cocktails and service receive strong praise, while dinner shows and cruises can be memorable. However, prices are repeatedly considered high, and some guests report mediocre buffets, declining cruise quality, poor dishes, or closures for private groups.

The only other downside was that my husband and I wanted to try the buffet whilst staying there and wanted to pay for us to do so, but our daughter ( a fussy eater) wanted to eat from the A La Carte menu instead.
Our experience of the dinner cruise had a lot to be desired, that could be a lot better, it felt rushed, the food order was incorrect, served beef even though we had been told twice it would be changed and wasnt a problem.
The dinner cruise with Anantara/Manora was lovely; we have been to Bangkok many times and even lived there, the cruise gave us a new opportunity to enjoy the uniqueness of the city. Service a table with yummy dishes !!

Eat at the waterfront, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is 100 unbroken, the food is a splash, the staff is very good, you, you, you, the diamonds, the service is very good, the show is beautiful.
We enjoyed Christmas dinner on one of the hotel’s dinner cruise ships and the food was outstanding and it was a lovely intimate atmosphere quite unlike the passing massive party boats on the same river.
I wish that the reception had explained the proximity of the adjacent mall, as we ate in the hotel the first night and the food was not quite the quality I would have expected.

They had everything I love and more: Fresh French Oysters, Foie Gras, Sashi, Caviar, Beijing Duck, Prime Fillet Mignon, Ribeyes, USA Main Lobster and more and more and more.
Despite having paid for dinner, we were not allowed into the restaurant because the hotel managed to book our restaurant for a corporate event on exactly November 5th.
We were particularly disappointed by the Thai restaurant, where the quality of the food fell well below what one can find outside the hotel.

We must also highly recommend Sala Lakorn for Dinner Buffet with Live Performance a really spectacular experience not to be missed.
Just Amazing!!! Just think beautiful rice boat, 7 course menu, cruising down the river to the sound of great music.
The alternative breakfast buffet at Trader Vic’s restaurant just didn’t work, it was crowded, loud and an unpleasant experience.

The restaurants on site Benihanna and the Tiki place let the style and quality of the hotel down.
Restaurants were pricey but had excellent service and food and some of the best views in Bangkok.
Although the food was still excellent in both and this problem will be resolved soon enough.

The food at Trader Vic's, the pool bar, and Longtail by the river was rather disappointing.
As a result it was a bit dirty for a place calling itself 5 stars.
Good restaurants, with a special mention for Brio where the Italian cuisine is remarkable.

The prices in the restaurant are relatively high compared to the portion sizes.
The half-board which had mediocre quality and service not worthy of the establishment.
We used the small cafe at the hotel which was very good.

Extremely overpriced in terms of food and drinks at the hotel.
The hotel has everything that is needed in a hotel: restaurants
Our final evening we had cocktails at the famous Trader Vics.

Great main riverside restaurant show and an excellent daily breakfast.
On our last night, we tried the Manohra Cruise dinner.
We tried few of the meals n all were fantastic!

Drinks at the bar had to be paid for immediately!
The meal is nice and the selection was excellent.
The Chinese restaurant here is fantastic — highly recommended.

Transport: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort155 relevant reviews
The complimentary river shuttle is a major advantage, providing convenient, relaxing access to IconSiam, Sathorn/BTS, the main pier, and other river destinations while avoiding Bangkok traffic. Guests used it daily and praised the experience, but schedules can be hourly or unreliable, boats may fill at peak times, and service can stop early.

Taxis can be hard to get depending on the weather and time of day, and since it's not walkable to the nearest station, I felt anxious and inconvenienced when I wanted to go to the city center or when I was out late.
The only frustrating part which didn't work was that we ordered a taxi from Concierge - the gentleman was insistent that we should leave the hotel at 0830 but I insisted that our flight was at 0930!
Second day he arranged an excellent local driver (who looked after us safely in a great SUV the whole trip and was lovely) to take us to the train market and floating market which were superb.

I ordered it 3 days before - upon checking the day before it seemed that the taxi had not been ordered which would have been a real challenge had we found out on the day.
To explore Bangkok we took the complementary Anantara boat up river and could then spend time in Iconsiam or go further to get an express boat to visit one of the temples.
The hotel boat shuttles are so nice (and included) and are a great way to experience life on the river and they provide transportation to ICONSIAM and the boat ferry station.

We always get a Rabbit Card for the BTS when we arrive and makes the train travel easy (you need your passport at the station when you buy the Rabbit Card).
I researched that it takes about 30 minutes by taxi to get to shopping areas like Siam Paragon, but in reality, it takes about an hour due to heavy traffic.
They have a river taxi service, but the posted schedule wasn't accurate so you basically just had to show up at the drop off spot and wait until one arrived.

The property is located by the river, so there is a free hotel boat service to the other side of the river and to the shopping mall, operating every hour.
The boat - I was told I had to get off and then I had to wait 30 mins for the next boat - why can’t we just stay on?
The transfer by ferry (from the hotel to the BTS station and back) only runs every hour - especially in the early evening - this is far too infrequent.

We know we visited in low season so the only criticism we have is we wish it went half hourly and not hourly.
The boat service to the side of the big shopping center runs too infrequently and stops too early in the evening.
The shuttle but was a nice way to get out and about across the the other side of the river.

Free shuttle boat lets you explore the busy area of Sathorn and Icon Siam for amazing shopping and eating.
Big shout out to the gents running the river boat which is great way to get into Bangkok.
The free shuttle boat also add convenience for our family to travel to Iconsiam and the BTS station.

20 min boat ride to city center so not for those who want to be dead center
Free shuttle boat from the hotel very convenient for going on visits, having lunch, or shopping.
The boat shuttle service, which goes to Iconsiam and another central pier, was also great.

His name was La. Use get ur guide or viator - wish I had!
The hotel shuttle boat is such a brilliant service and very well utilised.
Having the water taxi was very helpful to get to shopping centres.

Taxis are cheap, but it takes too long to get around.
And the free river ferries were a fun and unexpected surprise.
We took the hotel’s own pick-up service from the hotel.

Free shuttle boats up the river leaving every half hour.
Boat service to and from the pier is wonderful.
The convenience of the ferry was not so great.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort72 relevant reviews
Check-in and checkout are often described as smooth, efficient, welcoming, and occasionally flexible with early room access, upgrades, or packed breakfasts for early departures. Recurring negatives include long waits, poor coordination, delayed luggage, room-key failures, incorrect room or payment records, late room readiness, and unusually high or unreimbursed deposits.

Several hours of waiting to get one of our rooms on arrival (we arrived around 11 am, were promised a room by 2 pm, then 'it won't be long, we'll come get you' (twice), we got it after 4 pm - after three trips to the reception - because they granted a 'late check-out' to the previous occupants...
The welcome needs to be improved at the entrance hall; it is too rushed. You should have your customers sit down by offering them a warm towel instead of a cold one, and tea or water or a fruit juice, rather than leaving them standing upon arrival.
After booking, when I had already stated on booking.com that there would be a child and two adults in the room and a price had been fixed, I was informed by hotel that there would be additional charges to place a child's bed in the room.

For example: they did not give us twin rooms even though we booked 3 twin rooms by the river, one double, and when we arrived, they gave us the opposite, 3 double and one twin, and they said the hotel was full.
We had an issue on checkin where the room I booked for a family of 4 did not have enough beds, the hotel were able to accommodate us in a larger room that could fit the extra bed at no additional cost.
Check-in was seamless, and I was even kindly granted early access to my room, which I greatly appreciated – it really shows how the team goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable right from the beginning.

Nothing works, the lady at the reception doesn’t even give us our future room number and indicates that we will have to directly settle any potential expenses even though 4000 baht has been taken as a guarantee.
It would be useful for these extra costs to be included in the final booking.com price on the online system, rather than to find this out from the hotel after the booking has been made.
We point out that we will not be staying until the noon limit and that since the hotel is not full, there are certainly rooms already available upon our arrival.

This was after they earlier sent us a message (when we'd already paid) to say the room type we'd chosen would be subject to availability, to which I immediately protested.
Check-in was handled efficiently at the main front desk before we were invited to continue the process at the Kasara Lounge due to our upgrade to a Riverfront Suite.
When I brought up the problems during my stay, I received a sincere apology, but nothing was done to correct the issues until the day of my departure.

We had stayed at the resort on the first two days of our trip, checked out, and then returned for one night after a stay in Chiang Mai.
Following my refusal of a paid upgrade, the smile disappears and I am told that we will only be able to check into our room at 3 PM.
Everything was actually fine except for the withholding of a deposit of 8000 Baht, in case it later turns out that the room was left in poor condition.

After we left two days after started charging us additional fees for extra night rooms and TV damages even though we had already left 3 days ago!!
I was told that we couldn't get the room with twin beds until the following day bcuz the previous guest had not checked out yet
Room service took a long time to come (we ordered ice for his knee) on several occasions and once didn’t arrive at all.

After checking in, I became aware of these issues, and the response was dismissive, as if there was nothing that could be done.
Whilst we were checking out, I brought it to the reception's attention so they could fix it for the next guest.
Check-in procedure was way too long (why not give the keys directly instead of making us wait while checking passports?)

We arrived at 02:30 without a reservation and were received with a kind, thoughtful and efficient check in.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Methew, who assisted me with great kindness during checkout.
We were disturbed by our immediate neighbors who checked out very early with young screaming children.

We had to check out early as not the oasis of calm we were expecting.
- Upon arrival at 12:30, we are offered a ready room for an extra charge.
The first impression was very warm welcome and very effective check-in at Kasara Lounge.

Email communication prior to check in was great with prompt and helpful responses.
From the quick check-in to the incredibly friendly breakfast staff, everything was top-notch.
I went down to the front desk to inquire about the situation

Spa: What guests say

Spa treatments are frequently praised for excellent, professional, relaxing massages and facials, with calm facilities, saunas, and wellness services. However, high prices recur, sometimes viewed as poor value or poorly explained. Isolated concerns include an average massage, renovation needs, closure, and a cancelled booking after a power cut without compensation.

I even got to try the signature Thai massage treatment at the SPA and it was second level bliss - definitely worth the price.
There was a power cut so my spa day got cancelled, they couldn't book me in or even offer a discount on a rebook.
The massage itself was pretty average but cost 10 times more than the Businesses down the road who frankly did a better job.

The massage was wonderful last time, but this time I was disappointed. It wasn't worth the nearly 15,000 yen for an hour.
A huge highlight this year was seeing the upgraded gym—the new Technogym equipment is a fantastic improvement and much appreciated!
The spa massage was awesome - absolutely wonderful and my daughter and husband said the same about their treatments too.

The hotel also features a spa—we enjoyed two traditional massages, which were a great addition to our stay.
The spa is truly exceptional—my wife had one of the best facial treatments of her life there.
The expertise of the Spa staff provided us with a fantastic experience in a most relaxing environment.

We also had a spa experience in form of a nice massage, which I'd like to recommend!
Must mention: 1 Spa: we are always happy with Anatara spa, the massage therapy is the best.
My mother visited Anantara Spa and had 90 minutes Aromatherapy massage with excellent Spa Therapist, K.Laylai.

The spa is overpriced and definitely not comparable to other hotels. It also desperately needs renovation.
Spa was closed so we ordered a third party massage for my wife for Mothers Day.
We had a spa package and had full body massages which were so relaxing.

On the negative side the prices for the Thai massage were not explained properly.
The spa and wellness centre offer many similar services which didn’t make much sense.
We went back for another session after moving the accommodations to the city center.

We had 2 wonderful appointments at the day spa and it was 10/10.
My 11 year old and I enjoyed massages at the day spa.
You must pay the price of 5 * service like Spa, massage.

We had a traditional Thai massage and aromatherapy massage which was lovely.
We loved the dry and wet saunas after going to the gym.
My mother had a massage which she loved at the spa.

The spa was amazing- an excellent massage and lovely room etc.
The spa and breakfast were also really good, but expensive.
The spa, wellness, dining, and service were all outstanding.

The spa and associated treatment was also great.
I also received a really great massage.
We had some lovely spa treatments.

The hotel gym is repeatedly praised as excellent, spacious, modern, and fully equipped, with well-maintained cardio and weight equipment. Guests particularly value helpful trainers and attentive staff, plus sauna, steam room, swimming pool, classes, and morning cold plunges. Several reviewers describe it as among the best hotel gyms they have seen.

Gym was awesome if you’re looking for a good workout plus cold plunges in the morning if that’s your thing!
If you are into the gym this is one of the best I have seen at any hotel.
Regular evening visits to the Fitness Centre which is superbly looked after Khun Daar are another highlight.

I'm a keen runner and used the gym- running machines, free weights, weight machines, everything you need.
It made my trip healthy and the best because of the team and the fitness club
I honestly loved pretty much everything about this place including breakfast, gym, pool and the room.

Amenities were all superb, down to the sauna/steam room in the gym locker rooms.
Fitness center is good, Khun Took is a good trainer and good adviser.
Klang, Tuk, Peter, Va, Tarit really did a brilliant job for me
