Guests repeatedly praise the central location, cleanliness, comfortable beds, helpful staff, quiet atmosphere, strong value, diverse breakfast, and rooftop pool with impressive Bangkok views. Recurring reservations include a small, cramped rooftop, weak sound insulation, and facilities or service perceived as closer to four-star than five-star, with some finding better-priced alternatives.

The hotel is obviously very nice; clearly, given the price, one couldn't expect less (for one night, I spent as much as for three nights in another very nice hotel with a higher rating).
While it’s fair to note that hotel rating standards in Thailand can differ from those in other countries, this property felt more like a solid 4-star—and that’s perfectly fine.
A hotel worth recommending, impeccable service, the location is great for me, and the restaurant with a fantastic view of the city and a rooftop pool provides unforgettable experiences.

I visited when they had a cultural day so they had umbrella painting and live musician at the reception which was a breath of fresh air.
We stayed at Amara for the third time (2015 + 2018) and were looking forward to returning, even if it was just for one night.
A nice place, the view from the room window is enchanting. Of course, it depends on which room you book! Mine was perfect!

Location was excellent being so central although traffic was terrible any time of the day so it took ages to get anywhere..
We had a lovely time at Amara Bangkok - it was the perfect place for our first visit to the city!
I absolutely loved it, it was my first hotel I have stayed at so far and it actually exceeded my expectations.

Ive been to Bangkok many many times now and this is easily the best hotel I've stayed at so far.
The hotel is showing its age, with renovations and small details this would be a true 5 star experience.
Great hotel. Everything is perfect. From the service upon arrival to the pool and the rooms. Everything is fantastic.

This was our 8th visit to Bangkok, and by far, this was the worst hotel we’ve stayed at.
A lovely surprise was also the afternoon service on the terrace - delicious food and very nice staff.
The hotel appears to be more upscale, newer, and cleaner in its online presentation than it actually is.

We highly recommend Amara Bangkok Hotel to anyone looking for great service, comfort, and a beautiful atmosphere.
There are many far better options in the city that offer true hospitality and value for money..
That I only stayed for two nights. Both the hotel and Bangkok deserve at least 5 days.

We love this hotel, second visit and we choose this hotel when coming back to Bangkok.
I rate this hotel as a 5-star establishment and expect such standards from it as well.
Massage centers, street food next to the hotel, very nice pool, and the rooftop is incredible.

The price would be fair for what it offers, but there are cheaper options available.
For this reason, they appear to inflate the room prices, the price-quality ratio is poor.
Overall, this hotel was not worth the price and certainly not worth its 5-star rating.

I have been to this hotel for the second time and definitely not the last.
Additionally, we specifically booked a night in this hotel for New Year's Eve, but when making the reservation, no one informed us that after 7 PM, access to the rooftop is only available for an extra fee. The hotel, which was supposed to be the most luxurious and the highlight of our trip to Thailand, turned out to be the weakest.
Everything! Rooms are clean, housekeeping on point, friendly staff (except for one young lady working at the rooftop bar that just did not seem happy in general, did not see her on my previous stay in 2025), rooftop is super at any time of the day, nice neighbourhood with enough to do and see close by.

For being a 5-star hotel, we found it a bit bare and cold in terms of atmosphere, perhaps more suitable for business trips than for leisure.. in 3 weeks of honeymoon, they were the only hotel that did not congratulate us or decorate the bed.
I stayed at Amara Bangkok with my two children – first for 3 nights (July 2025) before heading to Koh Samui, and then again for 2 nights (August 2025) before flying home, because we felt so incredibly comfortable and well cared for here.
CONCLUSION: Overall, the hotel is far too expensive, the price-performance ratio does not fit at all, the drink prices at the pool bar are a rip-off, the photos are heavily photoshopped, and the rooms are different from how they were presented.

Rooms: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel2,036 relevant reviews
Rooms are consistently spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and often exceptionally clean, with panoramic Bangkok skyline views—especially from upper floors. Beds and bathrooms are praised, and Club rooms add lounge access. However, housekeeping is inconsistent, with late or incomplete cleaning, occasional stains or pests, and some maintenance issues including leaking showers, faulty safes, and slow hairdryers.

They put us in the smoking area, we are not smokers and they told us that with the air freshener it wouldn't smell, but we recommend NOT choosing this area if you are not smokers because the smell is noticeable in the hallway.
We had a bill on our room from the pool bar + received a letter to say we had to pay or they would disrupt our services + proceeded to affect our Aircon + room keys wouldn't work.
A room that meets all expectations with access to a jacuzzi on the 9th floor - the jacuzzi is shared with other rooms, but there was never anyone in it, so you can use it freely.

They did not clean the room in the 3 nights we stayed, even putting a sign on the door for them to clean it, this should not happen in a hotel like this.
We had booked two identical room categories, but we got two completely differently sized rooms, one of which had large wooden beams in front of the window, which was not very inviting.
The water pressure was not great, in both the toilet bidets (feels like the holes are clogged) and it was hard to shower since the water pressure is very low.

We were on the 24th floor (the highest floor), but unfortunately, due to the furnishings with the wardrobe and TV in front of the window, we had no view.
The hotel is good but unfortunately we had a big problem in our room, which started leaking water from the air conditioning in the middle of the night.
At first, we got a room that we didn't like because it was on a lower floor than we expected, but the receptionist resolved the issue immediately.

This room type offers free bottled water, Coke, and access to the executive lounge, which provides some simple snacks or dishes and drinks in the afternoon.
The refrigerator in the room did not work, unfortunately, it was not cleaned thoroughly before our arrival, and the walls were dirty from previous hotel guests.
Everything!! The floor-to-ceiling windows with a grand view, the pool and the small rooftop bar, the rich breakfast buffet, the cozy bed, the good location.

It lacked some details in the room that would make it a superior category hotel without a doubt due to the luxury of the room
There's not much room in the room, the decor is also very neutral and modest, more fitting for a 3 to max 4-star hotel.
Although we'd only booked a standard double, to our surprise we opened the back curtains to find 2 hot tubs (shared between 6-8 rooms).

You can hear every single word of the people in the neighboring room (including from the television if it runs late into the night).
I think I've never been in such an extraordinary room in my life with a view of the Mahanakhon and the other side.
Suggest you to put a small fan on the window if you don’t want to put any window due to the security reasons.

The room had functional air conditioning, placed at a certain distance from the beds on the side, which provided comfort of use.
The staff wasn’t helpful, we had been assigned an incredibly dirty room first (hair everywhere, unclean glasses, unknown prints in the toilet)
If you want a city view from your bathtub, please indicate you want Room 1 or Room 10 at a high floor.

Everything was fine except that the water from the shower leaked under the door and created a puddle near the toilet.
I liked the soft warm lighting in the room, made it feel cosy, and the rooms with good views were great.
Nothing in particular, maybe the limited availability of dishes for room service, but it was probably due to the requested time.

The furniture in the room is worn out and the bathroom is somewhat neglected; the room cleaning is done poorly.
The bedding smelt awful, I went to reception and said I can’t stay in that room, so they gave me another room which I pulled back the blankets and seen a stain on the sheet and the bedding didn’t smell good in that room to, So basically I went to check out and go to another hotel because what I could smell from the bedding it wasn’t nice at all
We had a significant delay in our flight and arrived at night, our deluxe room which we had paid for in advance was not available, they offered us another inferior one but without refunding any money with the idea of changing us the next day, but when we saw it it only had two beds and there were three of us, so we did not accept.

The rooms in the photos look very elegant, but if we actually look at the details, they are not exactly that precise, but it's really a small detail because it's very nice and the rooms are very beautiful. I booked the one with the bathtub next to the window of the building and it was very nice.
Some details in the room were not quite in line with a 5-star hotel of this standard: red-stained carpet in one spot, glass and steel shower with limescale stains (so cleanliness was not quite top-notch), the sink was clogged, ripped bedspread (they must have not noticed it... I don't think they would have used it otherwise).
The room was below my expectations for a 5 stars hotel in Asia, it requires definitely maintenance, the fan of the AC was extremely noise, the wall is definitely not isolated, I could hear every single word of the neighbors next to me, there were stains here and there and wallpaper needing a retouch.

Pool: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel1,783 relevant reviews
The rooftop infinity pool is a major attraction, offering spectacular city views, rooftop bar service, and a memorable setting. However, it is repeatedly described as small, overcrowded, and short of loungers, with little shade. Guests also report expensive drinks and some maintenance issues, including missing tiles and damaged towels.

We made use of the pool and in the evening, after returning to the hotel, we went back up to the pool floor, where there is also an open bar, to get a cocktail with a view of the city from above.
Unfortunately, many 'instamodels' have discovered this hotel with the great view at the rooftop bar and the pool and are doing what feels like hours of questionable photo sessions, which sometimes makes the pool unusable.
It says that the pool is open until midnight, but when we wanted to go into the water around 9 PM, we were not allowed; they said only the restaurant was open.

The pool on the roof is worn… the windows are not cleaned and several of the lights in the pool do not work and were not replaced during our stay.
It's hard to understand the situation when coming in the middle of the day with small children and seeing an official smoking area at the end of the pool.
We stayed for 4 nights and didn't have a chance to relax by the pool, as it was crowded with a number of swimmers and also bar visitors.

Just a few sun loungers, but we heard they had ordered more and were going to rearrange it so that more people could lie by the pool.
We were very disappointed by the rooftop, dirty, with only a few sun loungers which doesn’t allow for staying around the pool which is not heated.
The rooftop pool may look small in the photos, but we were often the only ones in it between 8 PM and 10 PM :)

Extremely few loungers at the pool, rooftop prices were extremely high and on top of the high prices, VAT and service charge are added.
When choosing a hotel, the view pool played an important role... but in reality, there are only 4 sun loungers for the entire hotel.
Sky bar and pool were stunning, waking up to swim to the sunrise in the infinity pool was a highlight of our stay

The rooftop pool is nice to take a picture at but the area as a whole is pretty crammed and not very spacious.
Also, it closes at 8:00 PM which is early; if you go on excursions, you won't have time to take a swim.
We were able to use the hotel's services right away, such as the rooftop pool with a breathtaking view of the skyline.

The rooftop pool is not too big, but in the morning, when people are exploring the city, it can be enjoyed alone.
The pool bar is, as described by others, extremely expensive; we shared a non-alcoholic cocktail by the pool for 300 Baht.
This is not fun. We specifically booked the hotel because of the pool and were unable to use it at all.

If you want an empty pool to yourself - come at 6 AM and enjoy the beautiful views of morning Bangkok.
The rooftop pool offers a great vibe and city views, though it’s a bit small and can get crowded quickly.
Nice rooftop bar and swimming pool but relatively small (pictures tend to make it look bigger) and cramped for space.

The rooftop bar and pool, which looked spacious and luxurious in the photos, were shockingly small and cramped in reality.
The pool on the roof garden is very nice with a view of the city, especially enchanting in the evening.
The pool and bar area on the roof is noticeably smaller than the wide-angle photos on the internet suggest.

The rooftop pool with bar offers a spectacular view over Bangkok and one of the tallest buildings in Bangkok.
The pool is almost unusable as there are very few loungers and none of them are in the shade, so a relaxing pool day is out of the question; additionally, the pool bar is outrageously expensive, meaning that there is actually no business taking place there.
The pool area is extremely small, there were only 8 sunbeds (for such a large hotel with so many guests), nails were coming out of the wooden floor, it was dirty (used bandages were lying around the pool), and overall the area was anything but inviting.

The views of the city are incredible next to the pool, located on the top floor, allowing you to see the city without having to pay for a skyscraper; it also has a bar where you can have a drink while enjoying a swim.
Hotel guests go to the pool in the morning before breakfast and occupy almost all the sunbeds, and there are actually very few sunbeds available. It was also observed that some sunbeds were reserved for 3-4 hours, but the guests were not present.
Rooftop pool. Closes at 8 PM already. Normally, you are out all day and would like to take a dip in the evening, but the pool is already closed by then. Drinks at the pool are extremely expensive. Beer €11 and cocktail €14

Location: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel1,668 relevant reviews
Location is repeatedly praised as convenient, central, and strategic in Silom, with access to MRT/BTS, shopping, attractions, taxis, and Grab. However, the station may be 10–15 minutes away on foot, traffic can make access difficult, and the historic center is relatively far. Nearby 7-Eleven, restaurants, and a quieter setting are useful.

If you want to go to the old part of Bangkok, a taxi (always using the meter) or the tuk-tuk (100/150 baht is more than enough) will get you there in 15 minutes.
The Amara hotel was in a really good location, somewhat away from the hustle and bustle but with plenty of things to do and convenient for getting around.
This is not about the hotel, but more about my own preference. To me, it felt a bit trapped because everything was located in one big tower.

The location was within walking distance to Silom Road and just a few minutes by Tuk Tuk or taxi for a small fee to Sathorn Pier.
The truth is that the hotel is well located, quite close to the historic center, the river, and public transport, and we didn't feel unsafe.
Of course, we organized ourselves with Grab so we solved it, but next time I would choose Siam Square or where Central World is.

The area surrounding the hotel, Patpong is not a great area for families, we will probably stay closer to Siam when we return.
The hotel's location is great, close to the BTS station, near the Night market, and there is a 7 Eleven next door.
The location is very central, so you can get stuck in traffic sometimes; the Skytrain is just a few minutes' walk away.

The area is very nice, but to reach the nearest metro station you have to walk through a rather unattractive path.
Of course, the preferred means of transportation is the Tuk Tuk, which takes you quickly and conveniently to your desired destination.
Good location, with a shop and bus stop right next to it, taxi to the center at a reasonable price.

The hotel is well located in relation to the city, it's easy to get around by train, taxi, or Grab.
The Silom area, too much traffic, noisy, rats... but it's an area with a certain vibe for certain tastes...
The train station (which we never used) is also just around the corner, as is the river ferry (Hop-On).

The location is not too central, and you have to walk quite a bit to get to the attractions.
The hotel was within walking distance of the blue metro line, making it easy to access the sights.
The hotel impresses with its central location, high cleanliness, friendly staff, and good breakfast at a fair price.

No major problems. The nearest Sky Trail station is not exactly next door, but it's not far either.
The hotel is located in an area that’s convenient where you can walk and find what you need.
The location, the view from the rooftop is superb especially at sunset but there are few places!

The facilities were comfortable, the location of the hotel was great, and the people were very friendly
The hotel is very centrally located to reach the SkyTrain and some attractions (e.g. PaTong Night Market).
A quite comfortable hotel, well located amidst the craziness that is Bangkok in terms of traffic.

The hotel is very well located, close to the places of interest (10-15 minutes by taxi).
Hotel is in close proximity to a nice busy street not too far away from bight market a good few reataurants kamazing indian one just down the road) but for any fancy Zuma style restaurants with shisha its about 35 - 45mins taxi away.
The location is definitely one of the strengths: the hotel is located in a very central area, full of shops, local eateries, and street food, so there is always something to do just by going out on foot.

It's not perfect location if you want to be closer to main palaces and temples, but very good place to very good/cheap shoppings and most higher viewpoint (King Power Mahanakhon) and night life in Soy Cowboy street :D
This location is also very urban with many of high buildings, so it's best idea to divide your stay in Bangkok into two parts - staying in this area and staying in are near the King palace/China town.
Location, although I didn't pick the hotel we all agreed the location wasn't right for tourists and for Bangkok it was expensive for what it was and the hotel was a bit dated, in need of a facelift.

Staff: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel1,514 relevant reviews
Staff are most often described as exceptionally friendly, attentive, professional, and helpful from check-in through departure, with praise for reception assistance and local knowledge. However, service appears inconsistent: some guests reported rude or inflexible reception, delayed towels or bedding, and treatment below five-star standards, including disputes over a charger and breakfast fruit.

Bad customer service - few months before arrival they confirmed that early check in before 8am costs half of daily rate, three days before arrival, when i asked for early check in they said that if I want early check in i must pay full daily rate.
A message to the reception staff: please note that most people have a long distance flight behind them, especially with kids even more stressful! A warm welcome even with a cool drink while waiting would be appropriate.
The most frustrating thing, perhaps, is that they tried to treat us like fools and didn’t even mention that they were overbooked that evening, so we weren’t getting the room we paid for.

It's impossible to get one of the 3 rooms, which were ready a few hours before the official check-in time, without paying almost the equivalent of a night's stay.
I had forgotten my charger in the room but I would be returning to Bangkok after ten days so I called to ask them to set it aside
The staff at the door told us to get away from there; I guess a luxury hotel can't afford to have two people eating at the entrance.

As we were leaving, we were stopped by a staff member and told that we were not allowed to take the fruits to our room.
Tanaya carefully listened to all of our requests and did her best to accommodate our preferences, making our visit even more enjoyable and memorable.
I can understand that rate and rules could change after few months and it was enough to say so, not to delete the message.

Staff were very prompt in their service like opening doors for me when my hands were full of packages and calling for taxi.
The service from the staff. I asked for two extra pillows and some ice, and they brought them up without any problems.
We couldn’t understand how it wouldn’t come out, so we used their soap to remove the dye and the stain dye went!

The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and truly went out of their way to make us feel safe and at home.
Therefore, the service is terrible and arrogant (bordering on rudeness); they cannot refuse to provide a customer with their payment receipt.
It's not very convenient for a family that there are transparent walls in the shower and toilet in the bathroom.

The attention, especially at reception but also in the restaurant, cleaning, and porters. They will always want to help you.
After check-in, once again, we had to take all of our luggage to the room entirely on our own.
Pool bar is a bit expensive but normal for an international hotel with a clientele of Western tourists.

Since we were traveling with a child, we were rebooked on-site to a room with a king-size bed.
Once, we asked the hotel staff to book a taxi for us to go to the farther markets.
The reception staff made a real effort to understand us, in fact, they even laughed with us....

Staff name Food & Beverage manager Judge (Prin Saranak) and Naomi in specific so professional and great!!
Thankfully the staff was able to resolve our issues immediately and we were happy with the resolution.
The staff was very friendly, the receptionists and the people who were cleaning the rooms- everyone.

I didn't like the attitudes of the reception staff at all; they are unfriendly and mocking.
I am a hotel guest, I came to the pool, not to the bar, I want to drink my beverage (and it could even have been tea) on a sunbed, and I can't do that? We ordered cocktails at the bar (out of respect, so to speak), I went to my room in a bathrobe to change out of my wet clothes and return, because the pool was just about to close, but I was called and asked to pay for the drinks - couldn't it be charged to the room?
I was really surprised and amazed for the promptiveness of the staff while my mum was sick, really thanks for the professionalism of all the staff here in Amara Bangkok whom helped my mum, thank you so much and always grateful to the duty manager on how she was dealing with it.

Everything!!! Above all, the staff that does everything perfectly to make you feel great, especially the warmth they offer you every time you see them and the attentiveness they provide, always with a beautiful and sincere smile ready to help you in any way possible, they make you feel among friends.
They gave us a single room key without explaining that the key is needed to activate the power in the rooms as well as for the elevator, so I was woken up by my smoking friend who needed to take the elevator to go smoke on the terrace...
Staff are rude worse than a hostel could not take care of any tasks to assist me in my stay lied to me to get me to pay for an upgrade which I did only to then find out that free mini bar was water and soft drinks.

Breakfast: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel1,449 relevant reviews
Breakfast is usually praised as abundant, varied, extensive, and high quality, with international and freshly cooked options and some daily changes. Recurring criticisms include occasional repetition, average or cold food, poor coffee, and a basement dining room that can require queueing. One guest reported an unexpectedly expensive under-12 child surcharge.

Breakfast had a good selection, though for a local food it was a hit or miss - a chicken dish was offered on both mornings of our stay - on the first one the taste was great, but we cannot say the same about the same dish next day.
It is the third time I have stayed at this hotel, I can say that the breakfast has lost quality and of course it is not a standard for a 5-star hotel.
The sausages from 7/11 were not cooked and cold, they were just taken out of the pack and placed, the grilled vegetables were all raw, even the pumpkin.

We paid for breakfast through booking but it was not recognized because booking did not indicate in the reservation summary whether it was paid or not.
Long waiting for the coffee at the breakfast, I would prefer to do it on my own instead of drinking it after the breakfast.
We were 5 people, the staff did not allow us to combine tables or add chairs, so we had to eat separately.

No soup station outside, long line at the egg station, fresh juice station always unstaffed, and the price-performance ratio is not right.
Breakfast quite limited and some things that should be kept cool are just heating up and melting away, e.g. the cheese.
Breakfast restaurant is small for the amount of the rooms and therefore super overcrowded. People are squeezing between the tables.

And it was quite a noisy environment that felt more like a school cafeteria than an exclusive breakfast setting.
But to charge you more than 800 bahts (over 20 euros) for the child's breakfast... is simply abusive.
The buffet breakfast is the best I've had so far, with a variety of international and local foods.

The breakfast is good with a variety of international and local food that definitely does not disappoint
The best thing about the hotel is undoubtedly the breakfast, very varied and abundant, and well attended.
Breakfast was disappointing, not at the level of 5 stars, there's something to compare it with.

Location, services, hotel amenities, accommodating staff, excellent breakfast, pool on the 24th floor and stunning view
The breakfast arrangements, being halal diet the vegetarian food was near bacon , cross contamination.
Maybe the breakfast could have been more varied and they could have left more amenities.

Breakfasts are good - not very elaborate and varied, but very good for 2-3 days.
The breakfast is rich, varied, and of high quality with a fair selection of sweets.
Breakfast was also great with a lot of options there is something for everyone.

Utensils for getting some items seemed to be not very specific for intended items.
- The breakfast was really great although there could have been two frying pans
We kind of expected more interesting breakfast buffet, as its around 19€ per person.

On one day, we arrived very early and unfortunately found some cold dishes.
The breakfast area is very small for the number of guests, everything is cramped, there's a long line at the egg cooking station, there are a few tables outside, but people smoke there, on the first day (which happened to be my friend's birthday) we were not asked where we wanted to sit, but were pointed to a table right in the middle of the hall amidst bustle and people moving around in 360 degrees.
The second stay I forgot to add breakfast (and then asked for it to be added to the room) I wasn't advised how much this cost and didn't see it written down anywhere. When I found out that it was approx 800 thb per person I was very upset. Shame as otherwise It would have been a great hotel.

One morning I had picked up a small croissant and half a pancake for my 18-month-old daughter who had not been able to have breakfast that day, but I was not allowed to take that for her because it was prohibited... incomprehensible behavior for a hotel that claims to be 5 stars with a buffet...
The buffet breakfast was varied with local options (Thai food) as well as more European options (at the moment you can ask them to prepare scrambled eggs or an omelet, sliced bread and cereal bread, bacon, sausages… the pastries were bad, coffee with milk and cappuccino from the machine was good, fruit, yogurt, cereals…)
Breakfast - is ridiculous. Very little choice of the basic food… restaurant is overcrowded, to get the table you will have to queue, to get your eggs you have to stay in the queue again(and its not 1-2 min queue, it is a real queue) with the plate in your hands.

Facilities: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel895 relevant reviews
Guests repeatedly praised the hotel's cleanliness, amenities, central location, rooftop views, pool, and gym. The club lounge is valued for complimentary drinks and snacks, but service is limited to short evening windows. Recurring drawbacks include a small, cramped pool with little shade, worn décor and rooftop facilities, expensive bar prices, slow elevators, and reported slippery bathroom floors and a damaged pool ladder.

Pool area floor paint is peeling, bathrobes are old and worn with torn seams, carpet has dirty stains, furniture is chipped, walls are scuffed and dirty, the condition and cleanliness have declined significantly. No longer worthy of 4 stars.
The lounge area was very disappointing. It's not very big, operates limited hours, and doesn't impress as a lounge area as we usually imagine it. In fact, it's just a small bar. :(
At the elevators, you should expect longer waiting times since there are only three for such a large hotel; additionally, one elevator was out of service during our stay.

Everything still looks good now, but in about 2 years, repairs will definitely be needed, otherwise the hotel will age and no one will want to return here
Executive floor, including snacks and cocktails from 5 to 7 PM, but the buffet is empty by 5:30 PM and not restocked, again very few tables
The only complaint we could mention is that a couple of areas at the rooftop bar and around the pool are a bit worn out.

There are only three lifts in the building, and they’re quite slow, so be prepared to wait a bit to get to your floor.
No minibar options there was a sign saying “fill it yourself” with only 2 small bottles of drinking water provided in the room.
1 of the 2 stepladders into the pool had a damaged bottom rung making it harder to get out of the pool.

The pool area is very tiny and you will need to be very lucky to get a sun bed (12 in total).
We have access to the hotel club 10, exclusive lounge acces but we don't use it because of lack of time.
It is impossible to relax in the pool area, there are only a few sun loungers for such a huge hotel.

The lounge was also completely overcrowded and we could not make use of it despite paying extra for lounge access.
We had a problem with the shower getting clogged, and despite mentioning it at the reception, they never fixed it.
The pool is too crowded and small, making it practically inaccessible; unfortunately, we never got to enjoy that space

One of the three elevators was broken the whole week, so you sometimes had to wait a long time
Just a small point: in the bathroom, only the skylight worked, the light switch for the mirror didn't.
The elevators are a bit slow and the prices for drinks on the rooftop are high for Thailand

The facility is definitely elegant, clean, with a rooftop that has a city view and a beautiful pool.
These could be easily sorted by up-to-date maintenance and they may exist in the other rooms too.
Power outage from 10 AM to 3 PM in a 5-star hotel - no water and elevator

The rooftop pool is great, but there is little space to comfortably lie down on a sunbed.
I hurt my leg on it before having to exit the pool using the other ladder.
This meant that only a single elevator was available for the whole hotel in the end,

The hotel is older, it can be seen in the equipment, but otherwise everything was fine.
There are only two operating and one of the ones that works is specific for the rooftop, there is another that is always out of service and there are times when long lines form to go up to the rooms that I have never seen in any hotel.
You are not allowed to bring drinks or food up, I understand that but I also don't want to pay 32 euros for 4 Coronas (1140 Baht) as a hotel guest... and that was even a deal of 3 pay for 1 free.

Swimming pool has amazing view but I think a bit too small space because its also pool bar there so not so any empty seats when we arrive in afternoon so we went to swim in evening instead , much more relaxed.
The lift had a mind of its own, which can be very frustrating while waiting for it to arrive & even when your travelling in it, you never know which floor you may be going to, no matter how hard you try.
Very clean hotel, friendly staff, very good breakfast, the room was really functional with a stunning view from the wall-sized window, quiet, good location, the club room was a great choice due to the services available in the club lounge

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel271 relevant reviews
The 3 PM check-in is often strictly enforced; early access was unavailable or priced like a full night, and several guests waited hours. Deposits of 1,000–6,000 THB were sometimes undisclosed, with card refunds taking up to 3–4 weeks. Smooth check-in and complimentary or reasonably priced late checkout were also reported.

They force y to pre pay eveithing, that could be also acceptable … but when we went to breakfast we got a employee stoking us following with a crearti card machine as they did not accept to put the bill in the room … he even came to our room ringing while showering pretending to have the payment and not waiting 10 min to us to make it at check out . Really orribile experience ( considering the price we payed )
They asked me for a 1000 baht deposit and since I didn't have that amount as it was the last day, they asked for 50€ or a credit card, but I only have a debit card so I had to leave 50€ which is double the 1000 baht.
I requested an early check-in in advance, but it was not approved, and upon arrival, I was told that check-in would be at 3:00 PM because the previous guest extended their stay. I really didn't like this; I've never encountered such a situation before!

Upon check-in, we were told to wait until our room was ready (even though check-in is at 2:00 PM and we arrived after 3:00 PM). After an 11-hour flight, that's clearly not what you expect to hear.
Such as a deposit of about 120 euros, which is said to be for safety, but it later turns out to be for security in case you order food and drinks to your room.
It was also a bit of a surprise to learn about the required security deposit at check-in, so it would be helpful if that information were clearer during the booking process.

They told us 30 minutes to 1 hour: we waited but at 5:00 PM it was still not ready! We had to take another room that was not as good.
We did an early check-in and we expected our luggage to already be in the room when we returned in the evening (that was not the case)
We paid 177 euros for two nights, I had included breakfast but when we arrived to check in they told me breakfast was not included.

We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until the evening on our last day, allowing us to fully enjoy the last day!
They did not offer the possibility of a late check-out, although you can use the pool - but it does not have changing rooms.
I was upgraded to a higher floor (21st level), which was a nice welcome upon check-in; and also allowed a late 2pm check-out.

After receiving the okay via email from the manager, the girls at the reception were refusing my booking for the extra day.
Although the room was already ready, we had to pay an equivalent of €50 for an early check-in of 3 hours
We arrived from a long trip at 11 am and they haven't let us enter the room until 2 pm.

At check-in, a deposit of 2000 baht in cash is taken, which in my opinion diminishes the 5-star experience.
The only thing I did not expect was to make a deposit despite the room was already paid.
I had to show it to them in my banking app just because they had worked carelessly.

It’s about half the price of the room per night just to check in 1pm instead 3pm.
At check-in, it would be nice to have more information about the hotel from the receptionists.
A bit unclear in their accounting, no signatures from the different accounts, lack of clarity.

We could go to the room right away, even though it wasn't check-in time yet.
I would not hesitate to return to this hotel if I return to Bangkok.
On the last day, when checking out, they allowed us to store our luggage.

At check-in, however, the request was taken into account and it was largely fulfilled.
The reception staff were also quite "rushed" at check-in... they should slow down.
During check-in, the only information we were given was to provide a deposit.

We had to wait 15 minutes for cleaning before we could go in.
At check-in we were told it only included breakfast for 1 of us.
Some complications during check-in, the staff does not communicate clearly in English.

Restaurant: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel224 relevant reviews
Food is often described as delicious, varied, and high quality, with excellent cocktails and city views from the rooftop. However, rooftop and pool-bar prices are repeatedly considered excessive, with mediocre value and occasional poor cocktails or food. The main restaurant is small, causing breakfast queues, while breakfast quality and lounge value are inconsistent.

But above all: we went to eat and have a drink elsewhere because the prices at the pool bar were outrageous (up to 2000 baht for a dish!), mango sticky rice usually between 80 and 150 baht was here at 430, a cocktail cost between 12 and 16€... Complete nonsense for Thailand.
However, we did not know the prices as we had just arrived and were looking for convenience, but it is true that you can find food that is 10 times cheaper and 10 times better in Bangkok.
Food taken out can be heated by the restaurant downstairs, and utensils are provided to take back to the room, which will be collected during the cleaning the next day.

Very nice rooftop bar …….👍 ……..excellent food and drinks 💯👍 ……..great service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🥰😇✅ 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 so very happy and super convenient 👌👍🥰😇✅ ..!..!..!..!..!..!..!..!👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌✅✅ 😇 from khun. M and Mapang 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The only downside is the restaurant in the evening where there was a bit of a wait after ordering the dishes, although it wasn't full; however, it was very good.
The views were amazing, the food was great, and because we were part of Club 10, we had the chance to taste many delicacies and drinks in the lounge.

A small buffet is also only available between 5 PM and 7 PM during happy hour, which quickly runs out and is only restocked very slowly.
We had a light snack at the pool (club sandwich and salad) and paid around €40 with drinks - which seemed quite a lot to us.
We believe a tip is something you would give for good service, not by default, and here you have no say in this matter.

You can order pizza, nuggets, etc. to the room. Prices in the hotel are of course much higher than in the city.
Moreover, a tip is mandatory at the rooftop bar (included in the bill as a service fee plus some other taxes).
At almost £10 a pint it was a little expensive but you get an amazing view for that as well.

The hotel even makes a small hot lunch free of charge in the restaurant for anyone staying in the hotel.
We only ate a few times but the food was mediocre at best and overpriced for what it was.
But that seems to be normal in Bangkok; even the rooftops are open until 1 AM at most.

I appreciate also breakfast starts at 6AM, making it easier to enjoy a meal before morning flight.
Drinks taken on the rooftop, surprise on the bill due to unexpected additional charges (table service)
We ordered room service for dinner twice and were surprised at how good it tasted!

We could take breakfast in the restaurant and food was really tasty and enjoyable.
Not to mention that the ROOFTOP Bar is very expensive, bad, and small...
Variety of drinks and food offered at the Club Lounge was very good.

The food and drinks in the club lounge were also really good.
I thought the Rooftop bar was just a little bit overpriced.
The breakfast buffet is not very varied and not very good.

The bar was very pricey but that’s just about it.
Good options of food, the rooftop bar, pool and views
A bit more variety at breakfast would be great.

The breakfast is quite nice, but not a highlight.
Charging 50 zł for a beer (!) is excessive.
Club Lounge is well worth it super delicious

Gym: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel139 relevant reviews
The panoramic, high-floor gym is repeatedly praised for its views and 24/7 access, with some calling it clean, modern, or adequate for a basic workout. However, it is consistently described as tiny and poorly equipped: usually only a few cardio machines, light weights, limited strength equipment, crowding, and occasional broken equipment or loud treadmill noise.

First of all, they gave us one key card for two people; if you want to go to the gym or out to the store, the second person in the room has to sit without light and air conditioning!
However on the photo you see 5 cardio machines and in reality there was only one which was always taken, there are no mats and there are no smaller weights, so very oriented towards men.
The gym was well equipped but all free weights etc are kept in a separate room and the machine room facing the viewing area on the 22nd floor is mostly empty.

I found the gym laughable, very small with only a handful of machines, unfortunately I couldn't make use of it and I bought a day pass at another gym.
Most of the gym equipment doesn't work or is turned off. And it says in the gym that it operates 24 hours a day, although the reception claims otherwise.
We booked this place because we wanted the gym but half the equipment was broken and when asked twice if someone could look at it, sadly it didn’t happen.

On the last day, I learned how to turn on the air conditioning myself; you just need to press the second button from the bottom on the remote.
It was difficult to control the temperature of the aircon as the control pad had started to breakdown such that I couldn't make out the number shown.
Having stayed on the 21st, hearing people running on the treadmill at midnight is not the best, especially if you have to get up at 4.

My yoga teacher pushed my body to the limits in the best possible way - exactly what I needed before my 12-hour flight back home.
They said the gym is open until 8 PM; I came at 7 PM three times, and each time the air conditioning didn't work there!!!
The equipment is very limited for a hotel of this level, at least a barbell, crossover machine, and more dumbbells could have been added.

For people who also like to do sports occasionally while on vacation, the hotel's gym is super suitable and generally well equipped.
Quite scary also to go from one area to the other with no glass and at a level 30 floor.
If you don't need a gym every day but need a soft bed, this hotel is for you.

The gym is very tiny, and doesn't really have much other than cardio machines and dumbbells.
The gym is a waste of space, either put in some equipment or remove it.
To allow him to go to the gym, I stayed in the room without electricity.

This is a joke; it doesn't even deserve the name of a gym/fitness room.
What they have is very poor and can’t be considered as a hotel gym.
A bit boring gym where all the cardio machines were out of order,

Same for the gym (only 2 treadmills and one machine for arms).
I can only say that the gym could use a little improvement
The gym is small, but functional, everything is well thought out

It is relatively difficult to work out in these temperatures.
The fitness area could use a few more machines.
The gym/fitness centre wasn't very well equipped at all.

Weights are not bad but the machines limited.
Only one machine was working in the gym
The amenities from the gym were satisfactory.

Transport: What guests say
View Amara Bangkok Hotel65 relevant reviews
Public transport is generally accessible but inconsistent: MRT/BTS stations are typically a 10–15-minute walk, though some guests found them far, especially in the heat or with luggage. Grab/taxis are easy to arrange and often preferred, but hotel airport transfers are repeatedly described as overpriced, sometimes double or triple normal fares. Traffic can greatly extend journeys.

Public transport was a bit further away. If someone wants to take the train with a large suitcase from the airport to the hotel, it can be quite cumbersome. With a taxi, it's no problem - important to negotiate well in the taxi or insist on the meter, which is not easy.
My advice is if you are ordering a taxi or another means of transport, do it only through the app because obviously the hotel will have a price twice as high
If I have to say something that I didn’t like is there is only one lift to go to the pool and sometimes it take a while to go up.

Because of the personnel not knowing about taximeters, highway tax and apparent rediculous suitcase fees, the taxi drivers ripped us off twice on our way to/from the airport.
During booking process via Booking com, although Double room have been selected / paid, Hotel reverted with a note - if available!!!! After paid reservation!!!!
Pretty straightforward walk to/from Sam Yan MRT and an easy transfer to the Airport Link at Phetchaburi, saving on taxi fares.

It was about a 20 minute walk to the MTR but there were plenty of Tuk Tuks and taxis available.
They charge 1600baht for a taxi to the airport. You can get there for half the price or less.
They have an outdoor area for taxi pickups, which makes it very easy for them to collect you.

The walk to the closest station is not the easiest in the heat but only 10/15 mins away.
You need to take taxis or tuk-tuks to get around, but it's efficient, be careful of the prices.
We used the hotel shuttle service which turned out to be OVERPRICED and was charged to us twice.

It takes about 20 minutes by car to get to Asoke Station, which is frequented by many people.
My credit card (Visa), which was accepted everywhere during my trip, is not recognized in this hotel
It can take up to one hour to reach to the main tourist attractions because of traffic.

We ordered a Grab driver right in front of the hotel when we went on excursions.
Nothing, the elevators are a bit tricky, it takes a while to reach your room.
Never book the taxi service through the hotel, as it is almost double the price!

It takes a bit of walking to get to the next subway or tram station.
The MRT was too far away for me, but it wasn't a big deal.
Not a big deal but the elevators can get quite congested during peak hours.

Ordering our taxi for the airport was just a seamless task with these gentlemen.
The hotel is situated in an area that is accessible by public transportation.
Not far from public transport, we walked to the airport in 5 minutes!

Transportation options are nearby or, alternatively, taxis (grab) are available quickly.
Very well accessible by BTS or Metro (10 minutes on foot)
MRT or Skytrain reachable within a few minutes on foot.

The free transfer from the airport was a nice extra.
Sometimes the elevator took a long time to arrive
About a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway station

Almost forgot, we got an upgrade and stayed on the 9th floor where you, along with 4 other rooms I think, can use the jacuzzi for free. We did that daily. Wonderful!
It would have been ideal to have a spa in the hotel, but of course we knew that the facility did not offer a wellness area.
A small downside is that the jacuzzi didn't work during our entire stay despite notifying the reception several times (the water didn't heat up).

Improve the spa pool area to allow more guests to use the Relax area because the situation is too cramped.
From the description it seemed there was a spa and massages with dedicated facilities, but there weren't..
Special thanks to Peter who organized an incredible massage session for us, directly in our room!

The pool on the roof was like a small oasis in the hectic city
The jacuzzi heat controls were broken so it was permanently cold.
You need to pay extra for the jacuzzi.

Massages are offered only in rooms
Steam/Sauna not turned on.

Not good parking in front of the hotel to unload your luggage.
Access to parking and directions to get to reception.
Good parking garage,

Good parking.
Free parking
Parking.
