Overall: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG71 relevant reviews
Reviews are predominantly very positive, often describing a comfortable, clean, high-quality five-star stay and saying guests would recommend the hotel or return. Convenient location and good value are noted, alongside praise for service. A few reviews are sharply negative, including one calling it the worst five-star stay; isolated concerns mention elderly accessibility and a taxi experience.

When exchanging money, some bills are not accepted because they had validation ink on them, it’s really hard for US people exchanging in Bangkok all around. What is considered acceptable in the US is not in Thailand.
With what was what I was expecting to be a great stay only manifested itself into a very unpleasant and ridiculous hotel experience.
A fabulous stay and this will be our hotel of choice whenever we come to Bangkok from now on.

As per her the property should take another 3 months to get rid of the smell, which we believe.
, at best 3 1/2 stars, I have used Crowne properties and they are first-class this one is NOT
This building was recently remodeled and it was one of the best hotel that I have stayed in.

The hotel is cool but other than the elevator hall, just kinda standard 5 star hotel.
We stayed for a week and we really enjoyed our stay in the hotel .
It was ok, I’m sure there is better, but I’m sure there is worse

I would 100% stay at this hotel again if I come back to Bangkok.
I will be staying here again. and will tell all my friends and colleagues.
As a global traveller, i must say the hotel stay was very good.

I will definitely stay here again when I return back to Bangkok.
I always stay at Crown Plaza when I come to Bangkok.
Having stayed at other properties in Bangkok, this hotel was supreme

The hotel is classy, prob more nicer than the photos shown
Good have been great had it not for the taxi experience.
Excellent service and a hotel worthy of its 5-star rating.

I think it is OK since I arrived Hotel earlier.
Our stay had been very good. Just a little feedback.
I will never come back to this hotel ever again.

Coming back to stay for many times during business trip.
Left the hotel at 730am worst hotel stay truly ever.
The worst five-star hotel I have ever stayed in

Nice hotel but nothing much to rave about.
Everything was excellent, exceptionally high quality hotel.
Price seems cheaper after paid.

First choice hotel in bangkok
My preferred hotel in Bangkok.
Great place to stay

Staff: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG67 relevant reviews
Guests most often praised the staff as friendly, attentive, professional, and quick to help across reception, concierge, breakfast, lounge, restaurant, housekeeping, and security. Standout examples include staff arranging a doctor and escorting a guest to a pharmacy, and resolving a booking-name mistake. A few guests reported overwhelmed staff, poor cigar-bar service, and one detailed complaint about reception handling.

2. Asked for our credit card for the incidentals and she told us it was declined and asked for another card , I asked her kindly to retry it and she supposedly did , ( but didn’t ). ...she said she would put a hold on all incidentals for our stay. I told her that it wasn’t our card, but she ignored me.
The service in the Cigar bar area was very poor.. I ordered and drunk my first drink but no one came to ask if I wanted another drink, I was left sitting in the side room until I decided to leave.., again I didn’t expect this service level at Crowne Plaza hotel
Due to a mistake by Booking.com, the reservation had been made under a Chinese guest’s name, but a Japanese staff member at the local hotel arranged for me to stay because my phone number was on the reservation. I wouldn’t have been able to stay without this person.

Finally, a note of explicit praise to all the staff in the hotel, and particularly the concierge staff - everyone I dealt with, in all roles, offered exemplary service and friendliness, presenting a 5-star welcome and helpfulness that stood out. Thanks to all. 🙏
Amazing staff, absolutely loved the girls on the breakfast that always treated the kids with smile and attention, getting their orange juice once they stepped into the restaurant and they remembered about them during our stay. The front office staff was really nice too.
Called to ask what floor we could do our laundry , they told me that it isn’t their fault as it’s hotels.com site, and then proceeded to tell me that laundry services a re expensive at the hotel and literally laughed ..I was speechless.

4. The supervisor called me the room to apologize and tell me that they are going to train their employ better ( it’s a bit late for that ) she also asked me obnoxiously “what can we do for you?”
Due to a mistake by Booking.com, the reservation had been made under a Chinese guest’s name, but a Japanese staff member at the local hotel arranged for me to stay because my phone number was on the reservation.
First class staff ready to help with any need. Very fast to help. And always following up to see that they had met my requirements. Friendly. and professional with a warm and welcoming attitude.

The staff are really attentive and really great in their service, from the guard at the gate, to the front desk, to the restaurant crew, and lastly the cleaning staff. Everyone is great.
I normally would never write a negative experience , I rather voice directly to the hotel ( as I did ) but the proved itself to only make everything much worse.
Was asked for my Hotels.com membership # ( never have been asked for this at any other hotel )...she rolled her eyes when I said I didn’t have it.

When I wanted someone to escort me to the drug store in the evening to buy medicine, the hotel security guard walked with me.
I’m single mother traveling with my son and he got sick. The staff help me find a dr to come to my hotel.
The hotel staff was very kind and asked how my son was doing. Hospitality and service doesn’t get any better than this.

This time, just like the last, we asked hotel staff to help us regulate the temperature or turn off AC completely.
As we were naturally concerned only to find out she never left the card in the machine long enough to process.
The staff was good, specially the GM Kate was really nice and it was always a pleasure talking to her

Eventually, they sent someone over and he did some work outside which lasted until we left the room.
They didn’t even have someone to help me. I have to call again to reception to help me.
Service was top notch, food fantastic and the hotel staff can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable.

After investigation, the reception staff explained that the error was recorded in the system with unknown reason,
They returned the luggage to me and asked me to wait for a moment
A good Team of Staff! Attentive, clear in I formation and suggestions.

With some of the friendliest staff known to this industry.
Staff were very friendly and could not be nicer.
The service at the hotel cannot be faulted.

Everyone is so nice and helpful .
Staff just super friendly and helpful.
Staff was impeccably polite and helpful.

Rooms: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG60 relevant reviews
Rooms are repeatedly described as spacious, clean, comfortable, and well appointed, often with excellent views, beds, and lighting. Recurring concerns include ineffective or excessively cold air conditioning and bathrooms with slippery floors or awkward bath-shower access. Some rooms feel dated, and guests report occasional booking mismatches, smoking-room odors, and maintenance issues.

1. The air con in the room was poor and I had to leave a spare key in slot all day just so the room was acceptable when I returned in evening.. using the temperature control panel made no difference to the temperature within room.. Not what you’d expect in a high end hotel
And thank you Crowne Plaza for fully illuminating the bathroom mirror area. I have been to so many hotels that put a single halogen light in a location far from the mirror so it is an adventure just trying to shave. Actually the lighting in the entire room was excellent.
The bathrooms are unsafe. The shower is in the bath and it is in safe to climb over the side of the bath to get in. Getting out is more difficult and the floor is very slippery. The tap is also complex.

From the bathtub, I could see the inside of the toilet bowl, which you normally can’t see, and that bothered me. It wasn’t particularly dirty, but I thought it would feel unpleasant if it were even a little dirty.
- our booking was for a room with two double beds, which turned out to be two single beds. We found the information on the booking.com website somewhat misleading - why not simply call it a twin room?
The plus points of the C.P. were, good sized room, excellent air con , very comfortable bed & pillows a good sized bathroom although it took 10 minutes of running the hot tap to get hot water.

We booked a room which said for 3 adults we had 2 beds, unfortunately beds not big enough, not queen beds more like single beds. Rooms not cleaned every day had to ask on second day.
I had requested for a room with bathroom equipped with grab-bars and a shower chair for elderly/disabled persons. However, the hotel had provided us with a shower chair after I had requested for it.
The TV is a smart tv so we could watch netflix and youtube… the bathroom had both shower and bathtub, separated from each other which was convenient when having 3 people in the room.

- as we had a late-night flight back to Europe we wanted to keep our room until the evening - this cost us half a daily room rate just for the few extra hours
The room itself was very large, clean and comfortable - although I just had a two-night stay, it was a very well appointed space, and felt extremely clean and well looked after.
Air conditioning is cranked up too high. I had the same problem when I stayed at this hotel last year and stupidly forgot how uncomfortable our stay was that time.

Room was clean and comfy. Just a note - toilet was very updated bit there was a sizeable cockroach in the bathroom near the basin which bothered me a lot.
Room was a little chilly even without the AC. I bore with it but on reflection if I asked for it to be addressed it most likely would have been.
What we loved about this hotel is that it has a smoking room. The room is very clean and does not smell bad. They also provide water bottles everyday.

The dial of the water mixer at the shower had its blue button missing. It was difficult to turn on the water when our hands are wet and soapy.
One criticism was that the air-con unit was weak and innefectual - it made barely any difference, and was slow to react; there's room for improvement there.
By the time we came back the room had turned too cold again. Tweaking the temperature controls inside the room appeared to have no effect at all.

Great Bathroom and shower and luxurious room interior with couch as well as an office space. Generous overall room size with a very comfortable bed.
The room is high and comfortable so away from the noise of the highway below. The bed and sheets are fantastic and the room spacious.
Alternatively, I was offered an accessible room, which is very practical for people with disabilities, but not advantageous if you are not disabled.

The staff often cleaned the room, making the bed, and replacing the towels every time I stepped out of the room.
You need to inform the hotel of this defect for the benefit of future guests staying in room # 3024.
My colleague was in 2502 n she had the same experience n heard at 3am she change room.

Need to have curtain to block water from bathing area filling tge main toilet area
A very high standard hotel, the renovation floors made noise in the rooms,
And the league will also be delivered to my room.

The extra bed in our room was too short.
We bought a curtain the tge bathing area
Air conditioners in bedrooms was set too cold

Location: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG59 relevant reviews
Repeatedly praised for its central Silom location, with Sala Daeng BTS and Silom MRT about a five-minute walk away and Lumphini Park across the street. Guests also noted nearby restaurants, street food, shops, and convenience stores. Some found the area around Patpong sleazy or less lively than expected; traffic can be heavy.

It’s in a great location being a short walk maybe 3-5min from both transit line stations. The Lumpini Park is right across the street. There is tons of spots to eat at around the corner. There is a mall right across the street from the location.
The hotel is walking distance from 2 train stations, one underground (can go to Chatuchak) and another train (going go Icon Siam or other places). It is also close to a night market. There are many restaurants, bars, convenience stores, pharmacy nearby. Really convenient.
The location is excellent. Close to a sky train station and a metro station (5 mins walk) so Bangkok is yours to explore! Plenty of places to eat locally too (street food and restaurants).

There were plenty of places to eat nearby in a food court. There was a 7-11 for late night snacks. And even a barber shop around the corner that I visited.
Location:Less than 5 mins walk to BTS Sala Daeng Station and MRT Silom Station. A food court is at the corner and a 7-eleven is nearby. Walking distance to Lumphini Park.
Very close to Lumphini Park and there is a shopping mall nearby which operates well into the night (it may be 24 hours but I am not sure).

- if I'd known in advance, I'd have booked another hotel, as swimming helps to cope with the stark heat and humidity in the city.
There was quite a bit of construction noise in the daytime but I was so jet lagged that I slept right through it.
Location supposedly good as near to bts but nothing to shop area at night. The patpong area is no longer like last time

I can go for long walks in Lumpini Park just across the street, and there is an abundance of shopping and restaurants
The area around the hotel easily gets stuck with traffic jams but there isn’t anything that the hotel could do about it
Stort distance to Lumpini Park which is a great environment for a walk or run. Excellent choice of food options near by.

Close to Silom underground station and Sala Daeng Sky Train station. For golf aficionados, there are dozens of golf shops nearby.
My only problem was with the area which is a little sleazy, not pleasant to go looking for unfamiliar bars.
My wife and I used this hotel for a second time on a stop-over between Koh Samui and London flights.

The place is at the center of everything, very convenient to get to the train stations.
But its right on the corner of Silom Rd which is where I needed to be.
Close to the underground and elevated metro (Sala Daeng station), shopping centers, and restaurants.

I realize vacationers will drink at one of the million bars on the street
Great location, close to Sala Daeng and Silom stations, connecting to both train lines.
A great value for money stay and convenient to Sala Daeng Sky Rail Station

Its central location - next to the Sala Daeng BTS station -
Location at crossroads of skytrain and metro, nightlife around
And we will use it again on stop-overs.

Location is good, near MTR & BTS.
Fabulous location for getting around Bangkok!
Hotel very quiet due to Covid.

The location is very convenient.
Best hotel in Bangkok
Very well located

Breakfast: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG44 relevant reviews
Breakfast is repeatedly praised as generous, fresh, high-quality, and among guests’ best; the buffet offers wide-ranging cuisines, including Japanese, Chinese, and Western options, and changes daily. Guests also note excellent cappuccino and attentive staff. One guest found the breakfast room chaotic and uncomfortable.

Amazing staff, absolutely loved the girls on the breakfast that always treated the kids with smile and attention, getting their orange juice once they stepped into the restaurant and they remembered about them during our stay.
The breakfast here is excellent, so much choice and a really chilled experience, not frantic and chaotic as some hotels can be.
To the wonderful breakfasts, nothing is too much trouble. Best hotel breakfast i've had in Asia.

Breakfast offers a wide selection; it’s very generous and delicious. The homemade cappuccino is excellent.
Food quality and choice were great, and I've never had such an extravagant breakfast buffet!
The breakfast was put together very strangely, and the breakfast room was very chaotic.

The buffet breakfast caters to all tastes and the quality of food is excellent.
It also has the best breakfast buffet of any hotel I have stayed at
The restaurant on the 23rd floor serves great breakfast with a choice of cuisines.

This hotel is one of the rare places which serve Japanese cuisine for breakfast.
The breakfast buffet changes a bit everyday, so you can try new foods.
The breakfast service was very good. Enjoyed the western and Asian breakfast spread.

- great buffet breakfast with lots of choices (incl. Japanese, Chinese dishes)
You didn’t feel comfortable there, so we only had breakfast twice.
And the best breakfast buffet of our entire 5 week trip.

Lovely breakfast with a good selection even for a Muslim traveller.
Breakfast was excellent so much to choose from .
The best breakfast I had in Thailand by far

The breakfast had lots and options and was fresh.
The fruit juices are fresh and very good.
Good breakfast with a wide choice of food.

Fantastic Breakfast Buffet at a very good price.
Didn't eat here so cannot comment on that,
The hotel’s breakfast buffet was incredibly good.

And the breakfast provided is even better.
And the breakfast buffet was nice.
And the breakfast buffet was great.

The breakfast was plentiful and fresh.
And breakfast was awesome !

Facilities: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG31 relevant reviews
The hotel is clean and described as well maintained, with nice amenities, but its location on the 23rd floor and elevator transfers between the garage, reception and rooms can be inconvenient. Guests also reported Wi-Fi problems, limited club lounge hours, dated areas, and ongoing refurbishment and repairs.

The lounges of 2 other 5 star hotels in Bangkok I’ve recently stayed in were open from 10am till 10pm & 10am till 9pm.You couldn’t go into the lounge to relax, read or have a coffee. It was open for 2 hours for high tea, then for 2 hours for cocktails & snacks.
This is the kind of hotel which not only excells in everything: comfort, decor, service, equipment and food, it has worked out such details as leaving enough space for your things on the sink slab, or the angle from which you reach bed side sockets., etc.
As Thailand is just releasing itself from Covid restrictions, some hotels have less facilities available than others. The club lounge in the C.P. was only open at certain times of the day, It closed just after 7pm , promptly.

The carpet on the room level. It is not easy to roll suitcases on carpet. The guest has to transfer to different elevator to get to the room.
Having to travel up to the 23rd floor to Reception there, then transferring to another lift to access my room, was a little unusual, but that's fine.
Didn’t particularly enjoy taking an elevator to the lobby and another elevator to my room.

To get from the garage to your room, you have to use three elevators.
A superb view from the elevator down to the dining room (glass walls).
3. No laundry facilities as noted on the Hotels.com app for the hotel,

Really appreciated the opportunity to use the showers prior to my flight
And it took an engineer two visits to try and sort it.
I enjoyed the club lounge internet and WiFi.

Hotel is on top of an office tower,
The entrance to the building was just so-so
A lovely check in lobby, bar and restaurants.

The hotel is located on floors 23 upwards,
There was foul smell on the floors
Then they realized the sauna was useless.

The amenities are also very nice.
With a welcome drink as compensation.
And paving under repair during stay.

The hotel is very dated.
The hotel is well maintained
And the hotel was spacious

The hotel is being refurbished,
There was no playroom
Had problems with wifi

It is very clean
Nicely maintained city hotel.
Quiet clean

Pool: What guests say

Guests often describe the rooftop pool as lovely, relaxing, and good for sunset photos. It is outdoor, relatively small, and offers good privacy. The water is not heated and can be too cold for swimming; some guests also found it closed for renovation despite being told the work was complete.

They stated the renovation of pool was done but still could not use on date
And the pool is a great place to relax after a day in the heat.
Also, I was disappointed on arrival to be informed that the pool was closed

Swimming pool is not heated. Very cold. Too cold to go swimming.
The rooftop pool was lovely after a hot day in Bangkok.
Swimming Pool: Outdoor, not very big but with good privacy.

Swimming pool is nice and perfect for pictures at sunset.
Pool was very nice to relax at as well.
The pool area looks good and feels good too.

The rooftop pool is truly amazing
Pool was closed for renovation
There is even a pool

Plus a nice pool
& pool fabulous.
Very nice pool.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Crowne Plaza Bangkok Lumpini Park by IHG19 relevant reviews
Guests could leave luggage at reception free of charge, and one reported being allowed to check in several hours early at no cost. However, check-in delays included being offered an unwanted smoking room or waiting for a room or key; one guest also found a duplicate charge at checkout, which was corrected after they raised it.

Check-in is from 2 p.m. I arrived at 2:30 p.m. and was offered a smoking room (I don’t smoke), with the note that I would have to wait another hour for the room to be ready.
When I returned to the Hotel at 3:30p, they returned the luggage to me and asked me to wait for a moment because my key was not ready which is not acceptable.
If I was in a rush I wouldn’t have checked the bill, and found I was double charged. The did correct this but only after I brought it to their attention

The receptionist asked me to return to the Hotel to pick up the room key because the checking-in time is 2 pm
I don’t remember her name but was a lady that even gave the kids a small gift upon check in.
You can leave your luggage at reception before check-in and after check-out (free of charge) while you go shopping.

There was plenty of warning about that before and during booking and check in but I didn't care.
Upon checkin the staff allowed me to check in a few hours ahead of time free of charge.
And on checking out I was lucky I checked the bill

But it’s totally different once we entered the check-in level.
Tried to over exchange me when checking out
Even though I had checked out earlier.

From the welcome smile at the check-in
From check in to check out
Great service from check in staff

The "Tap It" bar had US prices even for Thai drafts. Plus, they ran out of everything except the Leo beer which is not good beer. They have a high end bar that is probably Japanese expensive.
The dinner menu also caters to everyone and we certainly found a few favourite dishes and desserts.
But for business, I usually invite customers for meetings at the hotel bar.

Excellent kitchen and buffet - bf, luch, dinner
The restaurant on the 23rd floor serves
Food is very good.

Inroom dining good,
Dinner was tasty.
Nice restaurants.

And dinner

The taxi called by the hotel to send me to the airport wanted that I pay him B1000 which I thought it’s outrageous. he later lowered to B600 but left me in a public multi storey carpark where I had to walk via a link way to the airport itself!
Also, as I have some walking difficulties, it was annoying when the lift at the bts station was out of order and had to walk down about 100 steps. But take a taxi anytime, they are cheap.
Close to the station for the air tram, with a tuk-tuk always right outside.

Taxi does not seem to know about the hotel
And I PAID a fortune for their limousine.
Next to public transportation (skytrain and subway)

And brought us a free taxi.
Easy access to the train.
No airport service

From their limousine

The gym is too small. The gym needs renovation. For fitness person like me, spacious gym is a must during my stay. The equipments are too close to each other. There is basically no personal space to work out.
And gym were perfectly sized and easily accessible.
The weight room is also wonderful.

The gym is well-equipped
And workout room.
Gym was good

A gym.
Gym

They advertise Sauna, massage. When I was ready to book them, they have none. The sauna was cold when I told I was going to use it.
Massage at the hotel: very affordable for a 5-star hotel, with an excellent masseuse; very relaxing.
Later in the day I tried to book massage, the same thing no massage available.

I liked the free body scrub they let guests help themselves to,
(and spa) - on the 24th floor, with open air views.
And spa was out of order

They also have a sauna
