In summary, the room and views were undeniably the best parts of our stay. However, the overall service — especially at the front desk — was lacking in attentiveness, responsiveness, and follow-through. While there were kind gestures and efforts made by some staff, too many small but important details were missed. With better communication and more consistent guest service, this could have been a truly memorable experience. We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously for the sake of future guests.

Were second to none. So what actually went wrong? What was not so good about the place? Nothing save the fact we didn’t stay long enough! We will return….a big thank you to everyone.

Can't fault this hotel and we are looking forward to returning to Singapore and would not look elsewhere to stay and will be recommending to anyone traveling to Singapore.

I have no idea how this could be fixed, but it was a minor drawback during our stay: we couldn’t use them for our devices.

Which tied up a lot of my cash meaning I had to take it home and exchange it and spend on card while there.

Overall, a great hotel experience at a rather competitive price this time, so worth giving it a try or coming back another time.

The only downside is the price. But that's not the hotel's fault; prices are like this everywhere in Singapore.

What should have been a reset period after a busy period of work had entirely the opposite effect.

The place wasn't too crowded so it was great to enjoy al the amenities provided on the property.

From a 5star I expect clean sheets plus proper service otherwise I can stay in a hostel.

We simply couldn’t fault our stay and would stay again on our next visit to Singapore.

This setup would have been fine if kitchen and laundry are not meant to be used.

This was the only major negative point in what was otherwise an excellent family stay.

Generally the hotel felt somewhat unwelcoming to children and seems more suited to business people.

We booked the hotel because of its location, its kitchenette, and value for the money.

I liked that it wasn't very big. While modern and New, it is cozy. 😀

A short stay but definitely a hotel that I'd happily recommend and revisit :)

Very nice place to call home for a few days while visiting Singapore.

Due to a date error, the hotel charged me double the price. Booking offered me a better rate, which I accepted. On the hotel’s website, the price was half as much. I filed a complaint, but my request for a refund of the difference was rejected. I paid twice what Booking offered me by email. This is a dishonest act bordering on theft.

We paid over $2,000 for three nights in total, which I consider far too much for this accommodation. We had flown to Singapore with our family for the New Year holidays, so we didn’t want to argue or try to sort things out. In the end, for that money we could have stayed somewhere with much better conditions.

We recently stayed at Dao by Dorsett for a 2-night birthday staycation arranged as a surprise by my wife. While we were genuinely excited, unfortunately our experience was mixed — with some memorable highlights but several frustrating service lapses that left us disappointed.

Unfortunately, given that this is a 5 star hotel that charges ~$1000 per night for its rooms, I don’t think this response was an adequate one, given that our holiday was completely ruined by basic hygiene standards not met by the hotel.

If you expect the level of service typically associated with an established serviced apartment or hotel, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Having stayed at properties across Singapore, I can honestly say this was a new low in terms of service standards.

Because the bathroom is not inside the room, its location is quite unusual: it is on the balcony and separated from the bed in the room by only a large glass door. If someone gets up to use the bathroom at night and turns on the light, the other person in the room will also be affected by the light. I suggest adding a soundproof, light-blocking curtain to the glass door so that getting up to use the bathroom at night does not feel so awkward, for fear of disturbing others.

NOTE: TVs are not SMART as advertised, you can't use your Netflix, YouTube or Disney account unless you bring your own Chromecast or AppleTV device. You won't find and tablets for the dishwasher, unless you ask and wait an hour for them to be delivered. They give you a tiny amount of washing powder for the washing machine but no softner. Again, you can ask, and wait for them to deliver more powder. No tea towel to dry dishes.

There were many disappointing aspects of the hotel. One of the bathrooms in the suite had a horrible sewage smell which rendered it unuseable. We flagged this up via various methods - a handwritten note, informing housekeeping as well as the maintenance team who came to sort out an issue with a light not working & finally through the QR code system in the room.

The 1 bedroom suite was very functional, had a 'living room' space with a couch and a TV, and a small dining table, kitchen, washer / drier, bathroom was small but designed well enough, the bedroom was a good side, had a nice city / ocean view, large bed with good mattress and bedding and a small office space

I asked for a room with front view in booking. because I am an anxious disordered person, staying at dark room made me even more sick. The room was very like a prison. Darkness, without window. Whatever how beautiful the sunshine outside it was at the day time, it’s dark in the room.

The air conditioning was too strong and kept blowing even when set to 26 degrees. You could turn it off, but then the room quickly became stuffy. It may have been user error, but it’s strange that both rooms have air conditioning and cool differently despite having the same settings.

It is too much me - it should be for an oversee student or a family ... because it costed so much - may be that it has all cooking and cooking accessories like different sizes knifes; for overseas students and the likes, not at all for me.

Our biggest disappointment was the room assignment. Before our stay, we specifically requested a room on the highest floor, and we had communicated with the hotel in advance regarding this request. Therefore, we were extremely disappointed to be assigned a room on the 8th floor.

The room was very spacious, with a spectacular view over Singapore and the bay. It had a fully equipped, fully functional kitchen, a separate living area, and a bathroom with a great view—even while showering. The air conditioning worked well and was easy to use.

The rooms are spacious, if maybe oddly configured - ours had the only windows in the bathroom. We also had trouble taking a shower without getting water outside the stall but we quickly learned to point the spray away from the openings.

Unfortunately, the room was not quite clean when we checked in. A lot of dust had also accumulated in many corners, which was quite unpleasant. Unfortunately, the rooms were also poorly soundproofed, and we could hear the other guests very loudly.

The windows are in the bathroom and no windows to the room itself, very bad layout, it makes the room dark and it is a hassle to open and close the blinds every time you go to the bathroom.

Although it’s not a major flaw, it’s inconvenient that the only windows in the room are in the bathroom. If you wanted natural light, you couldn’t use the bathroom because the neighbors across the street could see you.

Room smaller than the one we had last time and toilet seat was loose and some of the furniture (table) had scratches and looked like it was a second thought (was out of place for the room).

Our room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The bed was King size and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and had a large shower. There was also a kitchenette with a microwave which was convenient.

Rooms: Although we had requested in advance that the two rooms be close to each other (e.g. adjoining family rooms, which were available), the staff only unsuccessfully tried to arrange this when we checked in.

The housekeeping service was terrible; they didn’t replenish supplies daily. You’d request something for the room and it wouldn’t arrive… They didn’t clean the room to the standard expected of a hotel in that category,

The rooms are soundproof, so you can get a perfect night's rest. The sheets, towels, and other amenities are also top quality. The views of downtown's skyscrapers from the bathroom are very nice.

The washing machine /dryer was not easy to use if you don't have a similar model. We found the instructions on the internet, but a printed quick guide would have been handy.

A few nice touches in the hotel rooms - umbrellas and bags you could use during your stay, a plant library, a laundry room for the rooms which didn't include those facilities.

I booked a 1 Bedroom Premier, which came well equipped with a washing machine and very convenient for longer stays. The room itself was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort.

- Room cleaning was very late in the day, when we came back from day activities to get ready for dinner, so we passed on it most of the time

We were on the 31st floor in a one bedroom premier suite! It was lovely, had a washing machine ( yay) filtered water, a fabulous view, everything you might want!

We (a family with a child) had a wonderful stay at the Dao. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had everything you need for a short city trip.

(2) The bathroom mirror is too narrow and not in a good location. It is set behind the counter with the basin in front of it. When standing in front of the basin, the distance to the mirror became a bit too far to be useful ( especially for females who need to see facial features up close for makeup). Also, since the mirror is quite narrow, moving away from the basin to get closer to it made it out of range. In order to get back into range, one will have to bend sideways over the basin to see the mirror which is not ideal. It looks good but not very useful. The only other mirror was a full length one in the room.

I was unhappy that there were no dishwasher detergent tablets. There was only a limited amount of washing powder, enough for just two loads. There was no saucepan in the kitchen. The bed was made every day, but the floors were not wet-cleaned. On the first day, the kitchen trash was not taken out. The bed linen was not changed, even though it visibly needed replacing. We have a small child, and after meals there were sticky spills on the floor; the floors were not washed during any of the four days of our stay. The towels were not changed. When we checked in, there were only two towels, although there were three of us.

There was no window directly from the room - windows were in the bathroom and so any natural light first passes through the bathroom to the room - this is ok if nobody is using the bathroom but if privacy is required and you switch the bathroom wall and door to opaque - the entire studio is much dimmer and feels claustrophobic. At night you need to remember to pull down the window blinds behind the sink and shower unit if not when the sun comes up at 7 am the room is illuminated - this is not intuitive as there are no curtains for windows in the room as there are no windows!

The air conditioner makes a low-frequency noise when it runs, and I could constantly feel a humming vibration while lying in bed. Later, I turned it off to sleep, but I could still hear the humming from the air conditioner in the neighboring room. I could only fall asleep in relative quiet when I put my pillow at the foot of the bed. The soundproofing is poor: even with the windows closed, I could hear the noise of cars speeding by downstairs at night, and I also heard a woman in another room while I was using the bathroom. The shower gel left my skin feeling unpleasantly slippery.

There s so many little annoying things, it takes a fist to reception to find out the oven is also a microwave, you have a ding table for 4 bit only provide cutlery, glasses and plates for 2. The room safe doesn't fit a laptop or iPad, the USB next to the bed doesn't charge, you have to use the USB next to the TV for that ! when queried and they sent a technician the answer was to put a sticker above the USB port cannot be used for charging. Powerpoints are not universal as with most modern accommodation

2 MRT stations nearby. Easy to walk to China town, Marina Bay Area and hawker eating centers. From the building the hotel is in, on ground floor, you can walk in aircon along a passage way with shops and cafes. So some of the walk towards Marina Bay can be in aircon.

This hotel is situated in the business district, making it significantly quieter during weekends and conveniently close to major attractions such as the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands. It is also a mere three-minute walk from Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre.

A good base for a wide range of activities. Good access to the MRT network (stations about a 5–10-minute walk away), Lau Pa Sat food court (about a 5-minute walk), and the Marina Bay area (about a 15–20-minute walk).

So close to the cruise terminal only an $8 taxi and from our room we could see the cruise ships arriving/departing. Close to 7Eleven stores where we purchased our supplies and also our transport card.

Location is a good walk to anything notable. It’s about 20 minutes to Marina Bay. It is surrounded mostly by office buildings and on the weekend the adjacent shopping centres was mostly closed.

It's well situated as it was convenient to walk to popular tourist destinations such as Chinatown or Marina Bay when cooler or to take the metro a couple of minutes away.

My office is just next door so the location is extremely convenient. It is also located near many food places (Laupasat, Asia Square Food Garden) that are within walking distance.

Drill site near by, currently knocking down a building so could be heard only when swimming during the day. Works stopped at night so allowed for an amazing sleep.

Unfortunately the pool view was not so lovely in the daylight (nearby a large shipping port terminal) but that did not impact our enjoyment swimming at night.

Centrally located, and you can walk to Marina Bay in about 20 minutes. It’s only a few minutes to the Lau Pa Sat food market, too.

It's possible to walk all the way to the shops at Marina One via Shenton Way without stepping outside which is useful when it rains.

Excellent location, really good hotel in the busy financial district of Singapore where you get a vibrant of office workers to casual holiday makers.

Close to cafes and just up the street from a hawker center. Close to train stations to super easy to get around Singapore.

Very convenient location with transportation and dining options just nearby, including popular food markets. Short walking distance to marina area and malls.

The location was very convenient, I already know when I return to Singapore, this is where I will stay once again.

It is no more than a 6–7-minute walk from the metro stations nearby. The marina is also a 20-minute walk away.

The location was really good. There’s a convenience store right across the street, and the hotel building has shops and restaurants.

The hotel’s location is excellent and just a short walk to the subway for easy access anywhere in the city.

Great position, 400m down the road from Boon Tat large street food market & round the corner from the train.

It’s easy to reach Marina Bay, Chinatown, and other parts of the city, either by metro or on foot.

Close to everything.. mrt is across the road, hawker centre is 5min walk away, bus stop is just outside

The hotel is not in the touristy part of town so there isn't too much within a short walk,

-Of the four hotels we stayed at on our trip the location of this hotel was our least favourite.

A business hotel well located and suitable for a short stay but not adequate for a relaxing stay

, it was the in City ( working district) so had to travel a bit to other destinations.

We enjoyed the location to the historic Lau Pa Sat Victorian food market. We had several meals there since it was walkable from this hotel. The Iconic Gardens by the Bay was nearby and about a 30 min walk from the hotel or a short car ride away. There were several restaurants and shops in the mall to enjoy. Also, it is close to our cruise port.

*location - close to two train lines: Shenton Way on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL brown line) and Tanjong Pagar on the East-West Line (EWL green line). We took the train from the airport and chose to get off at Shenton Way as it was slightly closer to the hotel, but to cross the street to the hotel was not as easy.

Additionally, the hotel is in a great location next to coffee and sandwich shops with a few 7-11’s around the corner. But if you want fresh produce etc the closest ‘real’ grocery store as a 15 minute walk away. Great location for visiting all the high end malls, all types of restaurants, Cloud Forest and Gardens by the Bay.

So there are plenty of food options and shopping. Unfortunately we were there during CNY and the weekend, most of the establishments were closed. But it's 2 blocks aways from a very good hawker center. The food was excellent, at night, it's even crazier!! There is a metro stop nearby, across the street under one of the building.

Location - conveniently close to many top sites, minutes walk to marina bay sands, walking distance to metro/bus stops, opposite the hotel was a hawker (the only one around open till 2am), 15 mins taxi ride to Vivocity shopping centre and harbour centre (I took a cable cart from here to Sentosa). Honestly, a location friendly hotel.

Was disappointed that we were charged for something as simple as ice when a member of our group hurt their ankle and it was needed to help address the swelling. When asking for ice, no mention was made of a charge - just a simple of course, we will happily bring some to your room. Only to be asked to sign for cost of the ice when it was delivered.

I would also like to acknowledge the staff they were amazing so helpful, my husband needed a doctor and Chris the concierge told us there was a doctor in the building and he took us up to them to ensure we could be booked in straight away which were it was just outstanding service

They have a star employee there, Nisa, who took the time to explain anything we had a question about and since it was our first time in Singapore, there were many questions! More hotels should realize that reception employees like Nisa can make or break a guest experience.

Friendly, very helpful, and pleasant staff. Everyone was smiling and ready to do their best to help our family, who arrived at the hotel with 3 out of 4 of us sick 🫶 Everyone was ready to lend a helping hand 🙏

Reception wasn’t responsive for afternoon (2pm) on a Sunday and evening Monday (9pm). The phone rang for quite some time and I dialed between 9pm and 9:30pm two intervals on Monday. Wish the phone would’ve been more responsive.

Then they smashed my girlfriends glass lotion bottle - to be fair they were very apologetic and compensated us cash for the mistake so all good in the end but probably need to re asses housekeeping personnel

I was charged through Booking for something they didn’t recognize, and today I have to see whether the bank will refund me. The manager offered no solution and passed the problem on to me. BAD!!!

Big shout out to Mizi. He took the time to explain and highlight on a map places of interest for us to visit. He is very passionate about his job and Singapore.

We were greeted by a very welcoming member of staff called Mizi who was very accommodating the first day so I hope you will get greeted by him too !

The service was very slow in regards to Housekeeping. I had to call several time to remind them of my request. it took 2 hours to have towels delivered.

The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional. Anthony, who was positioned in the reception area was very helpful and a great source of information for visitors.

The staff were incredibly disrespectful to the grab delivery personnel. I was embarrassed for the staff and quite upset at how they treated our driver.

The porters were friendly, helpful and approachable. Unfortunately the front desk/reception staff, although courteous, lack the friendliness and welcoming touch and seem rather mechanical.

2) Very good service provided by room service (special thanks to house keeping lady taking care of Level 26 during our stay 27-29 Dec)

The highlight of our stay was meeting Mizi at the front desk — one of the most outstanding employees we’ve met anywhere.

Special thanks as well to the housekeeping team for cleaning our room daily and always greeting us warmly whenever we met.

Then came a problem with our payment that was done a week before our stay. The hotel couldn't find it either.

Also, during my afternoon nap, the staff woke me up twice despite the “do not disturb” sign on the door.

The staff were amazing and gave me a complimentary upgrade from a studio room to a one bedroom corner suite.

We didn’t feel welcomed there at all. On the bright side, all other hotel staff were friendly and professional.

The staff are consistently attentive, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which makes a big difference after a long workday.

We were really disappointed as we're pretty easy to please and a simple greeting would have been nice

Only complaint is, we went to the bar for a drink every night but it wasn’t manned.

Reception staff inexperienced - got the strong feeling the hotel wanted you to use the robots instead.

All the employees were so professional and polite throughout the trip especially the front desk and Anthony.

A welcome drink after an ICA flight is very welcome as a refreshment on arrival and during check-in. The front desk staff did not offer any coffee, and just one piece of toast for our 12-year-old son really was a no-go. No, we didn’t have a room yet, so we weren’t entitled to anything. In the end, the porter offered us coffee. After we complained to the manager, a room suddenly became available. How credible are you as a 5-star hotel then? Having the facilities of a 5-star hotel is one thing; it’s the service that truly makes you a 5-star hotel, and that was sorely lacking.

I got to know most of the staff over the period of stay here , but I wanted to make a special thanks to the cleaning team, and in particular , one cleaner called Palini. This lady went above and beyond each day to cater for me. To say she just cleaned the room was an understatement. She took care of my family, looked after my small dog when I wasn’t there , even to check in that he was OK when I wasn’t out . It’s people like this that make a place very special .

I received a reply to a simple request I sent directly by email in English, but for a more complicated matter, I contacted Booking.com’s customer service center in Japanese. However, they said the hotel wasn’t answering the phone, so the issue couldn’t be resolved then and there. I wasn’t confident about making an inquiry by email in English, so I had no choice but to go there in person and communicate in English, but I still couldn’t quite understand.

I wanted to send a postcard to a friend, so I asked the front desk clerk if he could send it for me. Then he called the guest service person and asked him to ship it for me. I didn't have a stamp on the postcard, so I asked him how much the stamp would cost. And then they said that's not necessary with a bright, radiant smile. Thank you so much Mr.ZU and Mr.iliakiya.

Later I realized that “housekeeping” is daily (replacing towels, etc) but apparently they don’t clean? To me that was very confusing and unnecessarily complicated. He also didn’t bother much helping with providing info and just kept looking around rather than focusing on accommodating me. Usually I don’t care about interacting with staff but in this case some more info would be appreciated (eg elevators work by card which took me some time to figure out).

Breakfast was chaotic and very disorganised. Ended up staying away from Breakfast room for the rest of our stay. Booked table night before but still had to wait on one becoming available, and was sent to the board room along the hallway instead! Very little choice or availability of anything decent to eat! Not a good way to start the day. Avoid!

Breakfast was quite limited in terms of variety and quality. The dishes served did not impress in terms of taste. It was acceptable for a short two-day stay, but there is room for improvement when it comes to the food.

The breakfast room was very busy and crowded. It would have been nice to have a little more peace and quiet. It also would have been nice to be able to sit outside for breakfast.

We thought the breakfast lacked variety, but was cooked ok. Lacked a good display of fruit and was small in size making it quite busy. Coffee via machine, never really hot.

We had an issue with a racist and aggressive chef at breakfast who for whatever reason felt the need to put a tablespoon of chilli in our food.

I don't give it a full ten only for two reasons: the breakfast buffet could definitely be improved and with an even greater selection of food.

Breakfast is mainly geared toward Asian travelers; for Europeans, there are toast, omelets with various fillings, croissants, waffles, and a choice of coffee.

The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of quality options to choose from—definitely one of the highlights of our mornings.

Breakfast starts early. In three days, I never managed to have breakfast because of the seven-hour time difference with Europe.

The breakfast options were limited especially for Halal/Vegetarian options, it would have been great if there were more options.

A very generous and varied breakfast, with a predominantly Western selection, which is much appreciated after several days.

And breakfast was very good too. Fresh orange juice, fruit, and freshly made egg dishes were great.

Breakfast was a little crowded at certain times, and the variety was geared toward Asian guests.

The breakfast is simple, so if you have any options I offer not to have it.

Breakfast was good, not as crowdy as described in some reviews, we could always sit.

It was not clear that breakfast was included, we missed two days of breakfast ☹️

The breakfast menu could be upgraded. Not so much classic breakfast food: bakery etc.

The breakfast is varied and excellent, with most things you could want available.

One suggestion: breakfast for European guests should be served until 11:00 a.m.

Breakfast was awful too. Extremely overpriced, cramped for what was offered.

So we were glad that we could order a takeaway breakfast

There was a slight shortage of quality items at breakfast.

I can't comment on breakfast, as I didn't try it.

3 nights cost me $2700….this was for 2 adults and 2 teens (I specified their ages in my booking) in a 2 bedroom apartment WITH breakfast included. When we arrived we were rudely informed that the teenagers were not allowed breakfast unless we paid another $100 each for them for 3 mornings. My husband explained that I had just had my stomach removed due to cancer (so eat a very small amount) and our vegetarian daughter ate very little, but we’d like to enjoy breakfast together (as we had booked!) and at no extra cost. But they would not budge….$200 needed to be paid or no breakfast.

Breakfast options could have more gluten free/western style options and better labelling. The shared spreads are a problem (common in all the hotels where we stayed on our holiday Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand) so I provided my own jam but I did not specifically ask for separate so maybe they could accomodate this. We asked for gluten free bread which was provided but would have been nice to have had it toasted not just warmed. You can ask for an omelette to be made which would be fairly safe for Gluten free travellers.

Another disappointing point was the rationing/limiting of pancakes at breakfast time. On the first day, we were told we can only have one per person - and my daughter was told there were none left. I informed one of the staff who then promptly went to the kitchen to get some. I have never heard of a hotel limiting a breakfast item for each person, and making us feel like we are putting them at trouble for requesting something.

The major disappointment was the dreadful breakfast. We've stayed in many Asian hotels who have served fabulous breakfasts so we're looking forward to a good breakfast. There was very little choice of food and the way it was set out you couldn't get past other people to get to the food. No cereal, the toaster was useless, just warmed the bread after putting the bread through 4 times!!

Breakfast was good but not amazing. Would have liked more Asian/Indian breakfast options. The waffles ran out a few days into our stay and then the pancakes also disappeared by our last day which was disappointing for my kids. The fridge with the soy and oat milk needs to have a sign, as I wouldn’t have known it was there if I hadn’t asked for non-dairy milk.

Five sun loungers and two so-called “daybeds” by the pool for the entire hotel are far too few. We stayed for five nights, but only had the chance to get a sun lounger by the pool once.

Whilst the pool might look beautiful, there is not enough beds or staff, so if your lucky to find a place to relax…you still might struggle to get someone’s attention

You kept being offered a "shower at the pool area" as if this is some luxury that will help pass the time while they sort out your room.

Incredible pool The pool is absolutely amazing- it's big, with a beautiful view - perfect for a night dip or a during the day.

The pool was a welcomed break on the day of our departure to relax a bit before our long journey home.

Longer opening hours beyond 22:00 and some lights in the water to be able to swim when is dark outside.

Plus whilst the pool was an attraction when booking the lack of beds made it impossible to use

Unfortunately, the pool is completely in the shade. And there are few sun loungers by the pool.

We especially enjoyed the live music by the poolside, overlooking the ocean such a relaxing atmosphere.

We wanted ice cream by the pool but had to go to 7/11 to get it.

The pool area is quite dark in the evening, and the whirlpool jets weren’t working.

The hotel pool is wonderful, not too busy and great even for swimming laps.

The spacious outdoor pool was a great place to spend time with the family.

An chilled by the pool till our room was ready. Very large pool.

The pool area was very restful with both day beds and lounges.

The pool water must have been very cold (I didn’t get in).

There could have been a few more loungers by the pool.

In the morning, I did yoga by the pool because the gym had been cooled down to below freezing and water was running down the windows. A hotel employee cleaned up all around the pool with a leaf blower, without any consideration for me. The few leaves could easily have been swept away. The highlight, in any case, was that he stood in front of me, half a meter away by the pool, with the leaf blower on, checking his phone...

There wasn’t much of a view because the hotel is surrounded by tall buildings, but the pool is shaded even in the middle of the day, making it great for swimming without worrying about the sun. It was also very breezy, so it felt cool even without sitting on a sun lounger.

The rooftop pool area was clean and thoughtfully appointed, providing a refreshing escape with panoramic views, albeit overlooked by nearby tower blocks. In the afternoon, however, finding space was a challenge due to the limited number of sunbeds and loungers, which were quickly claimed by guests reserving them with towels.

Limited sun beds (3). Apparently they have ordered more. Place was very busy and many people had no where to sit. There are 2 cabanas and tables and chairs but even they were full. Hopefully they prioritise getting new sun lounges, because the area could be amazing with them.

It starts on the seventh floor, where the reception and pool are also located. One minor criticism: it would be nice to have more loungers there. But when we were there (at the end of May), it was never very busy, and we had plenty of space.

Even during the day, at 12 noon, we couldn't get anything to drink at the hotel. The (very small) bar was closed (to store luggage?!) and the pool bar was also still closed... The staff did nothing about it. What a shame!

One unique touch I really liked was the plant corner at level 7 as guests can adopt a plant to care for during their stay, which adds a homely and refreshing vibe.

The mall inside the building had snack shops, takeout shops, a bakery that baked and sold bread (freshly baked and delicious), and a convenience store, which was very convenient.

The hotel provides umbrellas which is very useful in Singapore weather. They also have like a small laundry where you can wash and dry clothes by yourself.

As someone who’s no stranger to 5 star hotels, i can confidently say that many 5 star properties in singapore, despite offering excellent facilities.

The door signs are wooden and got caught in the door frequently, causing them to snap. Maybe a flexible one would work best.

Laundry facilities - Clean, free of charge and very useful. Much appreciated when staying in such a hot and humid country.

Fire alarm drill without prior notice; it was very, very loud. We were scared and didn't know what to do.

The lobby was far too small for the large number of guests, and there was hardly anywhere to sit.

Staff were very helpful and offered use of the facilities to freshen up before our international flight home.

As mentiond the 'hotel' is part of an aprtment block and reception is on the 7th floor.

And so did the second to tell us it was ok to stay in the rooms

Plants, “Bobby Cars” and games for children, sauna blanket, infrared red-light lamp, and so on.

We also enjoyed the food and the overall quality of the facilities and service.

No recreation areas just a cafe or glass wine the bar was closed

The hotel has a relaxing lobby area, a small but cozy restaurant.

Great to have facilities to do your own laundry with everything provided.

There does seem to be a slight issue with smelly drain.

The free use of the washing machine and dryer was great.

A very well appointed hotel that met all our needs.

You can also borrow toys or massage appliances if needed.

The ‘eco’ program. We expected not to have our sheets/towels changed which was absolutely fine but don’t know that it should extend to absolutely no service including not refilling coffee/tea/water. Told when I called for tea bags that this would cancel the eco program refund of $15/day which btw you have to spend at the hotel as it is not an option to have it deducted from your bill.

If we had known that the hotel does not provide a designated smoking area, we would not have chosen it. Smokers had to go out onto the street behind a pillar (from at least 7th floor, we stayed in 26th), where the hotel had not even placed an ashtray, so the street was full of used cigarrets. Smokers looked as if they were doing something illegal.

The hotel had a bathroom near the pool area which included a shower, however, even when I tried to lock the door for privacy, it did not lock properly. Both men and women's bathroom had the problem. We couldn't get the door to lock and someone from the outside was able to open the doors even when we had them in the LOCK mode.

It’s a hotel inside a building, but it’s hard to find the lobby entrance. You have to open the automatic door and take the elevator, but the hotel sign was hard to see, so I wandered around for a long time even though I was right in front of it.

This is probably a security measure, and a very good one in that respect. But my tip if you are traveling in a group and want to be able to visit each other's rooms easily is to make sure you get rooms served by the same elevator shaft.

We had a terrible experience whilst extending our stay. We were not told that the extended part of our trip could not be cancelled or changed - the initial booking was fully flexible however when the hotel extended our stay as per our request, they changed the policy for that section of the booking. Despite admitting the error was at their end, they tried to charge us a full night cancellation fee when we needed to make a change, they would not refund, then insisted we took a credit - i felt like we were being tricked and stolen from. We also had to argue for the same room type when we did take a credit - it was unbelievable. They made it so difficult and I was made to feel like I had done something wrong. I would never go back there - the service is terrible.

When we arrived, we were asked to place a deposit using a credit card. As we didn’t have one with us, we asked to use a debit card, but that wasn’t accepted. The staff did say we could pay the deposit later or even the next day, which was helpful — but we still had to go looking for an ATM, which wasn’t easy to find nearby and caused unnecessary hassle at the start of our stay. (turns out we did not need to do deposit at the end)

I arrived at the hotel at around 11 a.m. Even though I explained that I had come a very long way, they said my room wasn’t available for early check-in but that they could move me to a higher-category room if I paid extra. They did exactly the same thing last year. I don’t think this is a coincidence; I think it’s a money-making trap. Even though I explained that I had just come off an approximately 11-hour flight and needed to rest, all they wanted was money.

Check in counter staff were a little unconscious and not professional. Two of them noticed that I was waiting to checkout and there are no queue in front of me. We had eye contact, but they did not acknowledge my presence and continued with their conversation for a good one minute. It's nothing big but if they nodded and acknowledged, I would know that I'll wait for a while to proceed with my check out.

For example, when we arrived in the morning, we explained that we were tired after the long journey, but our room was only given to us at the scheduled time, which was fair enough... but I think they could have met us halfway by letting us in a couple of hours earlier. Then again, I don't know.

Check-in. I had not brought my credit card and the man checking-in us in made me feel like I was going to take something from the room! Making a point of telling me in an abrupt manner that the room would need to be checked before we could depart.

We arrived at the hotel around noon, but unfortunately we couldn’t check in at first. When we returned around 3 p.m. (the official check-in time), our room still wasn’t ready. In the end, we couldn’t check in until around 4:30 p.m.

We also spoke to the manager to share our experience. He was polite and apologetic, and offered us a late checkout as a goodwill gesture, which we accepted, hoping the rest of our stay would improve.

Although we paid for the extra bed on the day we arrived, this was not recorded in the system, and we were going to be charged for it again at checkout.

Just note you can’t check in till 3pm and there’s limited leniency if you turn up earlier.. front of house at check in could be much better.

We had informed them in advance, of course, that we would be checking out at dawn, but they did not provide us with any takeaway breakfast.

Upon arrival the staff that conducted the check in did not provide any information at all apart from insisting that “housekeeping” is only by call.

Due to flight delays, we might not be able to check in until after 12:30 a.m., but this was no problem.

It’s not necesarly a dislike but we would have liked to have a later check-out.. which was somehow not possible.

I arrived early and my room wasn’t ready however I had an event that day and needed to prepare.

We only booked the room because they couldn’t accommodate an early check in at 12 rather than 3.

Just needed a little more pre contact from property advising of 7th floor check-in and bell services.

And chose to pay on arrival. Of course they charged my card 2 days before arrival.

The check-in tablet was also difficult to use, and the front desk staff were quicker.

When we checked out the staff charged us $30 for makeup on a hand towel.

They require a $300 deposit, which they refund about ten days after your stay.

It would have been helpful to have been told about this at check-in.

Until the very end when checking out - a little too late.

And even found a room for us to check in early

① The hotel has only one entrance, through a glass door on the first floor, and the front desk is reached by taking the elevator from there to the seventh floor. The buildings around the hotel are connected by corridors on the second and third floors, but you cannot reach the front desk on the seventh floor from those corridors.

After catching a train from Tanjong Pagar, I would recommend this line as it's on the same green line as Tanah Merah (where you connect to trains from the Expo line from Changi Airport), and the journey to the hotel from this station is all flat roads and more spacious if you were to arrive during peak hour.

Booking through Booking.com suggested this motel offered airport transfer. Upon requesting this a day prior to arrival we were told this service needed to be booked 2-3 days in advance and would cost $100 SGD. The taxi from the airport was only $38 SGD so I found this all very misleading.

Booking a taxi was interesting. We thought we had one booked the day before we went to the airport, only to find the next morning that we couldn’t pre book. Then the taxi decided not to show up and at one point they didn’t think they could find another.

Would advise vacationers to use the local trains for transport. We had the hotel book us a taxi a few times, some didnt show up (bit annoying). This is typical of taxi's in singapore so not the hotels fault...would avoid taxi's altogether.

We thot that the nearest MRT station was already operating. But sadly no. But no big issue as this hotel is easily accessible by Grab car, buses and MRT. Just walk a little further for Bus and MRT.

Arriving by foot, it may be a little confusing finding the hotel, but I kept asking locals where the hotel is, as you would get lost walking and finding a new location, and needing your hotel.

Arriving late and jet lagged, we struggled to locate the entrance and were not immediately aware that we needed to take the lifts up to the seventh floor—a minor inconvenience in an otherwise pleasant stay.

My flight was canceled, and I could only arrive a day later. Even though I had notified them in advance, they refused to deduct the cost of the night I missed.

The bus service is reminiscent of London, operating with impressive frequency. Whether you're heading to Marina Bay or Vivo City to visit Universal Studios, transportation is convenient.

Hotel told me to go along road to get a cab to the airport but this actually proved difficult if you do not have an app.

We were rushing out and didn’t have time to go to reception and when we returned they had been removed so couldn’t say anything.

But due to Singapore weather and infrastructure we end up catching taxis everyday to get into the places and back to the hotel.

Convenient free hotel shuttle at certain times, e.g. to Gardens by the Bay, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, etc.

But also a taxi pick up point directly outside makes it easier to get pretty much anywhere you like.

When arriving by metro or similar, you have to look carefully to find the hotel the first time.

Unfortunately, there was no direct MRT connection, and the station was about a 15-minute walk away.

Singapore's MRT and bus system super convenient especially for Tap to Pay with Visa, etc.

And even being able to use a bicycle for free to explore the city

And well-trafficked taxi stand just outside made getting to all major sights easy.

We were at the port in no time with a Grab driver.

We stayed one night on a stopover and would definitely return.

And helped us reserve a shuttle for the next day.

Which made getting around the city very easy and convenient.

And I was easily able to travel to the conference.

But using train station nearby was easy to accomplish.

But there are metro stations and bus stops around.

An MTR train station is in close neighborhood.

I didn't like that there was only one restaurant. Also, there was a problem the first night we were there, My party of five went for dinner and after we were seated and our orders taken, we were told half of what we ordered wasn't available because there was no fryer. The restaurant lost that sale because we left for another establishment. For the caliber and location of the Dao, we expected more options for dining.

Have a great on-site restaurant.. if you are a guest you get two for one deal.. the food was amazing and it’s a shame no one was there dining at night on the weekend.. they really need to promote this to guests. They also have a daily special with drinks, food etc.. $7 deals this also should be promoted more to people at check in.

When asked why the food was taking long to be served, she responded unapologetically, saying, “Do you know we have two high tea sets to prepare for other guests now?” Regardless of how busy the restaurant was, this is not the level of professionalism or customer service one would expect from a hospitality establishment.

The pool side cafe wasn't particularly busy but I was not greeted or was able to find anyone when I visited on Thursday 16th Jan 2025 (approx. 6:30PM). Sat on a reserved table until someone come informing that it's reserved and was able to move to the next table (it wasn't cleaned though).

Day 1 at intake we were able to order from the restaurant and pay with a card. day 2 they refused to allow us to order from the restaurant even though it was the normal ordering time. Everyday they had these rules that changed.

Room Service food was not palatable. A small can of sprite was $7. Happy hour you can buy 2 beers for $14, so 2 large glasses of beer is same price as 2 small can of lemonade?? No 2 for 1 on Sprite??

The room was spacious but not as much as I can imagine for 50+ sqm rooms. Although not tried this time, hotel restaurant at 7th floor looked a little expensive and cramped, it might be better if more space used.

The alcoholic drinks were very expensive (nearly $70 (Aust $) for two beers and two cocktails - compared with around $35-$50 elsewhere) so we used other bar/hotel facilities rather than pay such high prices.

We did not have the breakfast so can't comment, but had lunch and dinner (a la carte). The satay skewers + order of fries for dipping in the satay sauce was our favourite combo.

The fact that after 10 Pm u can't even get a pepsi can from their kitchen.. we used to go back from work late and there wasn't any in room food or drink services.

I usually dont like live music with dinner, but they had some talented musicians playing on Thursday night and I surprisingly liked their rendition of several classic rock numbers a lot.

The prices in the restaurant were not excessive which is a nice change and they had a 2 for 1 meal deal when we were there which helped with costs.

I only ordered room service the day of arrival due to a long haul flight and needed something quick so I could get some sleep. The food was spectacular.

The complimentary snacks are only served with drinks at the restaurant. It would have been nicer if they had also been available poolside.

I wish the quality of the food could make up for the high cost and lack of service, but that didn’t happen.

We overslept the first morning, but the young lady in the restaurant got us go bags to take to our room.

On the weekend, there was no food service readily available at the building after breakfast and before the dinner time.

There’s no room service and the kitchen closes really early so you can’t have dinner in the hotel

And from time to time the service at the pool bar was a bit slow.

Ate at the restaurant a couple of times for dinner and food was delicious.

We enjoyed some delicious meals on the illuminated terrace by the pool.

However we had a lovely dinner from the same hotel restaurant

There was also a problem with the air conditioning in the gym. It was extremely cold, and you can’t adjust the temperature yourself. It only gets better once a staff member comes and adjusts the air conditioning—in the meantime, you’re freezing.

The only thing that could be better was the gym. It was warm even before I started to workout. I went there everyday for 5 days and it was always warm and there was no way to change the temperature

Small thing also but I couldn't get into the gym as there was no sign to indicate you needed to use your room key on a non descript box on the wall.

The gym was small and really not too functional. Wish it were bigger, then this location would be without a doubt one of the best .

The only downside was the gym: the door was broken, the room felt hot and humid, and the space itself is quite small and outdated.

And gym is well appointed, although slightly small, but again relatively quiet so it's not too much of a problem.

For the price per night, the gym is rather sparse. In fact, it is below par.

The gym is also on the 7th floor (next to the pool; functional and clean).

It also has a good swimming pool and a gym which opens 24 hours.

Did not use the adjacent gym but it was also well-attended by others.

It was something that bothered me so felt I will include here.

There were facilities such as a swimming pool and fitness room,

And the gym were perfect for the relaxing time after daytrips.

And has a gym (small and mostly cardio equipment but still).

And fitness facility though the latter could have been better equipped.

When checking out, we asked for a complimentary parking ticket. At first, we were told parking was not managed by the hotel — but after checking a list, the staff suddenly handed us one. It was helpful in the end, but inconsistent experiences like this were a recurring theme during our stay.

And I also liked that there was a dedicated pick up area for taxis/Grabs cos the previous hotel I stayed at in Chinatown had no dedicated pick up area and the drivers had to stop at the front of the hotel on the main road with flowing traffic.

Was told booking included parking on booking.com. however when we arrived we were told there was a $16 per entry fee.

And parking is available within the building over the weekends at a special rate throughout the day.

Only issue I have is the carpark. There is only 1 carpark complementary exit per night

But anytime you need to exit, you need to ask for a pass.

Becuase even for parking charge 26$ .

Hence parking maybe a challenge during weekdays.

In Asia, I noticed that the whirlpool baths don't have hot water. The whole point of a whirlpool bath is hot water.

For a 5 star hotel I would have expected Spa treatment to be available.

The only issue was that the hot tub wasn't working during our stay
