Guests consistently praise Ascott Sathorn for spacious, clean apartment-style rooms, comfort, helpful staff, facilities, convenient Sathorn location, and strong value, especially for families and longer stays. Many return repeatedly and describe it as a home away from home. Recurring criticism is dated decor and furnishings, with one guest finding it overpriced.

While the property is impeccable for staying, I recommend using the BTS for transportation as Narathiwat Road right in front often gets heavily congested during morning and evening rush hours.
The fact that I have returned several times probably says a lot: for a longer stay in Bangkok, I find the hotel exceptionally comfortable, convenient, and pleasant.
The property is a little dated in terms of decor style but it is very well maintained and comfortable so don’t let this put you off.

What I particularly like about the Ascott Sathorn is the combination of space, comfort, convenience, excellent service, and a genuine sense of calm.
After four stays, it has become my preferred place to stay in Bangkok, and I am already looking forward to coming back.
Plus we can cook our own food pre heat our take away and all kitchen utensils are readily available and properly arranged.

This was my fourth stay at the Ascott Sathorn, each time for work, and once again I had an excellent experience.
The building itself shows signs of age and some parts are undeniably worn out, but the service level is very high.
You feel like your at home staying in their hotel... My kids enjoyed their stay their and love using their kitchen...

(For some ODD reason, I have to write a minimum of 200 characters for my review, even though I am.
Clean, well located (a few steps from the BTS), very friendly staff, beautiful view, spacious room, comfortable bed, beautiful pool.
Stayed before and was always excellent service and value for money but on this occasion it lacked that spark

Magnificent hotel that lived up to our expectations, luxury at a reasonable price with breakfast, a real breakfast, great!
All in all a very nice hotel with very little improvements to make it perfect.
Everything was just top-notch in terms of quality and service from the reception throughout 😍

Overall, I rate Ascott Sathorn as VERY GOOD and I would stay here again.
Best space and comfort in Sathorn Bangkok and great service by the staff.
I stay here with my wife around 4 to 5 times a year.

Ascott Sathorn Bangkok is my favorite accommodation in this city of angels.
Overall, Ascott Sathorn is a fantastic comfortable, well located great service.
We stayed for 3 nights this time, but we come often.

Clean accommodation but not quite as luxurious for five stars
Super nice workers... Not just super, but amazingly nice.
I always love to stay here when visiting Thailand.

Regards to all the staff and tkank You
I really recommend it, it was great.
Our favourite place to stay in Bangkok.

Overall, not a very good price-performance ratio.
Excellent hotel, perfect location, amazing staff.
Amazing comfortable place and great location.

Rooms: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok250 relevant reviews
Rooms are consistently praised as spacious, clean, comfortable apartments with kitchens, washing machines, dryers, and supplies. High-floor rooms often have city views and quiet interiors, but street-side units can be poorly soundproofed; some rooms face an internal lobby or lack external windows. Pillows, non-smart TVs, and occasional cockroaches are noted drawbacks.

Was happy with the room at first, it was spacious, comfortable pillows and bed, good pressure in the shower but the room didn't get cold enough for me to get fully comfortable when it was time to sleep and the worst part was I saw multiple baby cockroaches in my bathroom!
I found a couple of nail clippings on the bedroom carpet, hard to see unless looking for them as similar to the carpet colour (I stood on one, an "ew" moment), but the bedroom carpet was otherwise stain free and high quality, and the apartment overall seemed to be clean.
In short... The One Bedroom Premier room at Ascott Sathorn Bangkok is not just a room; it's a living space that offers complete convenience, perfect for those who desire spacious, beautifully decorated, and romantic accommodations, or for those seeking home-like comfort for long-term stays.

There are 2 pillows per person; why not provide one thick and rather firm pillow, like the current one, as well as a second one that is much thinner and comfortable.
We stayed with a 1-year old toddler and the whole serviced apartment felt very clean, dust-free, and there was a baby chair for his meals in the apartment.
Huge room, Appartement deluxe (2 badrooms) with washing machine & dryer which we used twice & a big fridge which we used for breakfast.

It was the perfect accomodation for families, the apartment was very spacious, had 2 huge bathrooms including tubs that the kids enjoyed.
The room is nicely decorated, could use a small refresh, but does feel like a home with everything you need.
Very much enjoyed the space of the appartment and all the nice creams etc that came with the bathroom.

I recommend it for families as there are spacious apartments that meet the needs of families with children.
This was a great mid trip hotel as it had a washer and dryer in our room.
It was located at level 4 and i could hear the noises of the car at night.

The ability to sign in to a personal Netflix account should be available to guests.
Room was nice and spacious, complete with all the amenities we needed for our stay.
The rain shower option at this room worked but my next room didn’t work.

My family of 5 people enjoyed 3 nights in a clean, spacious 3-bedroom apartment.
We enjoyed the views from our high-floor 2-bedroom apartment, and comfort to match.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment with balcony for our week in Bangkok.

Didn't bother us as it was above the sink in the living room.
The baby arrangements such as cot, dining high chair etc were fantastic too.
The rooms are pretty old and half the plug sockets don't work.

Clean Room (Room was a bit outdated but it was not bad)
Room very spacious for all me my wife and 3 kids
Washing machine and dryer are also very nice in the apartment.

Very good room size - comfortable appartment with all you need
First of all the room I stayed in was amazing.
Entering the room we booked was out of this world.

The 3-bedroom apartment has a good layout and is spacious.
Clean and spacious and very good for groups traveling together.
Excellent property. More like an apartment than a hotel.

Staff: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok203 relevant reviews
Staff are consistently described as friendly, welcoming, professional, accommodating, and quick to help, especially concierge V/Mr. Navee with transport, tours, and local recommendations. Guests highlight personalized birthday and holiday gestures, upgrades, early or late check-in assistance, and prompt problem-solving. A few reviews criticize weak customer-service training and room service ending at 7 p.m.

Mark great service delivering our luggages thank you thank you for his service we are very happy and pleased great attitude and smile very welcoming to start off a nice short holiday away in Bangkok we are very happy thanks a lot for marks hospitality
Talking about the staff. Very friendly in the reception and I like to specially note the concierege, named V who was service minded and very knowledgeable about a lot of things like restaurants and tailors etc.
Everyone, except the the person working at the entrance of the gym, were very serviceminded and friendly, but he was the opposite, actually he was rude.. That was a shame for such a nice hotel.

Check in was great with smiles and great hospitality to welcome ASR guests and all details was explained clearly by front desk from the welcome gifts to the facilities and breakfast venue.
Here are the names of the staff members I was able to gather: Pat , Ayer , Trainee , Gun , Patty , Noey , Pim , Fah and the Bellman.
Every staff member I encountered was friendly Pat being especially polite and sincere whether helped us with with the room we wanted or offered great recommendations, their service was exceptional

The reception staff are not friendly, they attributed the inability to charge to my credit cards, which was clearly a connection problem, as was demonstrated shortly after.
Staff recommended to go to destinations not only by taxi but also giving tips ho to go there by metro that is way cheaper.
The front desk were not able to give me a clear invoice with the itemized breakdown after 30mins of my waiting.

They were very accommodating and professional in handling my various requests like tour packages, cultural show tickets, airport transfers, etc.
The staff members were polite and very helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them.
On the check-out day, I requested a late check-out and the staff handled it very well.

I asked Khun Aum, front office supervisor, if this music will continue till the night.
The staff provided a "topper" (basically a thick blanket) to alleviate the issue somewhat.
On my check-in day, Saturday, November 8th, the reception staff provided excellent service.

The cleanliness of the place and the good treatment from all the staff..
We experienced a warm welcome and superb hospitality from the whole team.
At my request, the girl at the reception contacted the driver

The location fits our needs and the staff was very attentive.
The smiling concierge helped us every step of the way.
In the car, the driver kept proposing other tourist destinations

Staff were very friendly & couldn’t do enough for us.
Great service, big rooms, pool near sky train great!
Incredible staff and location, with all necessary amenities.

The Ascott staff were very friendly and helpful.
Staff very nice and rooms are very large.
Most of all pleasant and well train staff.

The staff were so kind and accommodating.
It's a safe bet with great staff.
The welcome and professionalism of the staff

Location: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok201 relevant reviews
The hotel’s strongest advantage is its location directly beside St. Louis BTS, with easy access to Siam, Silom, the river, Mahanakhon Tower, shopping, restaurants, street food, supermarkets, and ferries. However, South Sathorn is a busy main-road setting: some rooms experience traffic noise, while the immediate neighborhood can feel quiet, less lively, and limited for dining.

Near local market, at about 10.30am-2pm, I walked to the local market about 5-10 mins walk from Ascott then turn right at the Empire Tower building corner, there are tons of delish Thai street foods and snacks. (Across the road there is another market too, but I had to walk to the narrow soi(street) to get there about 2 mins) The market will close on the weekend and holiday.
The service apartment located near the newly opened St. Louis Station (BTS) in the center of Bangkok's Sathorn area has large supermarkets and massage shops in the surrounding area, and there are numerous Western cuisine restaurants across the BTS that are a bit on the pricier side.
The serviced apartment is located near the newly established St. Louis Station (BTS) in the center of Bangkok's Sathorn area, surrounded by large supermarkets and massage shops, with many Western-style restaurants located directly across the BTS, albeit a bit pricey.

The view is very beautiful, and the hotel is quiet, in addition to its proximity to many tourist attractions in Bangkok, shopping malls, and ease of transportation due to its closeness to the metro station..
The location is great, right next to St Louis BTS, there is a Tops and small food centre only minutes by foot one way with Kamu, KFC a few restaurants and coffee/cafes inside.
We will definitely stay again when we are in Bangkok as its right outside St Louis BTS station (near the elevator too) and 7-11 and Tops Supermarket are within close walking distance.

It's near St. Louis Station for BTS, but to enjoy various things in Bangkok, you have to go to Sala Daeng and change lines, which might be a bit inconvenient.
Also great location from the center of Bangkok and the river which is great if you want to be out and about a lot.
The only thing I didn't like is that the music from the bar on the groundfloor reverberates through the building at night.

Close to transportation but felt like we were about 30 to 40 minutes away by train from most tourist attractions.
Location may be further from the shopping district but close to a number of massage spas and nice restaurants/bars.
The appartments are very well situated with easy access to sky train and getting to the river.

The hotel is located next to a station which is very good even when rainy.
A Seven Eleven is minutes on foot the other way and various great cafes.
I got there by sky train, the station is right near the hotel.

The location has improved with the opening of the St Louis BTS station!
Near to sky rail and major shopping centres plus biggest gym ever
It’s located at the st. Louis station very close to city Centre.

Perfect location with BTS right in front and good restaurants nearby.
The location right next to the BTS makes everything easily accessible.
Resort style inner city living close to BTS and shops

Just wish the music from the bar wasn't so loud
Very convenient neighborhood for the metro but a bit "sad.",
Lots of delicious restaurants also within a 10-15 minute walk.

Ascott is in a very nice location: quiet, clean etc.
Perfect location next to the Saint Louis BTS station.
It is located in the financial district of Bangkok.

The nearby skytrain station is a real plus.
BRT station is steps from the hotel lobby.
Nice stay near BTS, but no 7eleven near.

Breakfast: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok91 relevant reviews
Breakfast feedback is mixed but leans negative: guests repeatedly cite limited, repetitive, basic, and expensive choices, with some Asian-heavy offerings, poor replenishment, and slow egg service. Positives include a quiet, spacious setting, tasty food, made-to-order eggs, and occasional poolside or in-room service, though several guests found it below the hotel’s standard.

We enjoyed the breakfast but when we asked for both ham (in piece form) and mushroom, we were given ham in bits in the egg and mushroom was chopped up in tiny tiny pieces.
The breakfast area is large, quiet, and spacious, so you can start the day with a calm and relaxing breakfast rather than in the crowded atmosphere found in many hotels.
The breakfast could be improved (fruits, savory dishes, plain yogurt, etc.), especially since the food in the hotel restaurant is very good, as I have eaten there several times.

Breakfast is close to terrible (na basic products available nevertheless you are at 7 or at 10). Price is 500 baht so expectations were high. Please see the photos.
The hotel breakfast is served at the poolside bistro in a buffet style, available from 6:00 AM, and the menu changes every day, so I never got bored.
But you have to order omelets, different types of eggs, and bacon. It took over half an hour for it to arrive both days we were there.

I didn't like breakfast, not many choices, and I don't think it's a good idea to serve noodles and rise for breakfast, instead of, let's say, omelette.
It would've been nice if the 'western' breakfast buffet had some nicer wholegrain bread, granola etc as the white sandwich bread and cornflakes were a bit dull.
Breakfast on level 7th was cosy and not crowded which makes the experience a very enjoyable one in addition to the great spread of food choices.

Breakfast was served at the restaurant by the pool, with different dishes provided each morning, which allowed us to start the day without getting bored.
Breakfast is served every morning at the restaurant by the pool with different dishes each day, allowing me to start my day without getting bored.
The breakfast restaurant is also clean and the food is very good - situated right off of the pool area so its a nice view.

Not that I didn’t like but this round of my stayed I didn’t take up the breakfast as I think it can be better.
Sadly the breakfast was a let down, they are supposed to have an Asian and Western set as advertised on cards around the restaurant.
Breakfast TOP TOP TOP, a delight and in addition you have the choice to eat in the room OR by the pool.

Special mention of the fantastic service by the staff at Bistro Montmartre where we had breakfast on the second day.
Breakfast was not very good with not a lot of cheese ham available for western tastes.
This is supposed to be from 0600 to 1000 with the buffet till 1130.

However, not sure if the staff were confused as the breakfast closed at 1000.
It was very nice to be able to eat fresh vegetables in the morning.
The coupon cannot be used on a day other than the designated one.

I couldn’t get a room with breakfast deal as I have previously.
Breakfast is very, very expensive and available only through the hotel.
The breakfast needs more variety as it is mostly Asian food.

Choices at breakfast are very limited vs other Ascott hotels.
Please have better budget for breakfast options for your guest
Staff at breakfast restaurant have poor manner and services.

Breakfast coffee was very nice and full of aroma.
The breakfast was mediocre and quite expensive.
The breakfast experience was not good.

Facilities: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok86 relevant reviews
Facilities are a strong feature: guests repeatedly praise the clean, spacious pool, gym, reliable Wi-Fi, and apartment amenities such as kitchens, washing machines, and dryers. The property is generally clean and functional, but furnishings and some fixtures look dated. The children’s playroom receives sharply negative feedback for neglected, broken equipment, while gym size and Wi-Fi quality vary.

Check in was great with smiles and great hospitality to welcome ASR guests and all details was explained clearly by front desk from the welcome gifts to the facilities and breakfast venue.
The property is old and not well maintained, toilets flush are weak and lights and Aircon are not working well, had to ask for repairs and it’s not immediate
The hotel is old and worn-out, the kitchen utensils are old, small appliances and a dish drainer are placed on the kitchen counter like in a messy house.

There are quite a few restaurants and cafes across the street from the BTS, offering a wide range of options from Western to Thai cuisine.
I wish to highlight the herbal tea served in the lobby: chrysanthemum, bael, rosalle, lemongrass etc, very thoughtful treat for tired guests after sightseeing.
This place has so much space and potential instead it’s just a sad, sad place I never want any kid to spend time in.

If you go right when you leave the hotel, there's a building at the intersection that houses TOPS, where you can purchase various items.
A bit outdated woodwork, needs refreshing - but it's really just a minor issue - the decoration is stunning especially the entrance hall
Nice point to add, there is always a lift on the ground floor waiting for you, small detail but nice all the same.

Since there is a 7-Eleven nearby, I think it's safer to buy from there or at the convenience store at St. Louis Station.
The services are very good and the location is ideal, with a play area for children, a large quiet pool, a gym...
The in-room washing machine provided could have better instructions as it was clearly pre-programmed and was limited with what could be done.

There is a 7-Eleven nearby, so I think it’s safer to shop there or at the convenience store at St. Louis Station.
The mini-mart within the building has very limited stock, so it might be better to consider it similar to a station kiosk.
The mini-mart on the premises has very limited stock, and it's best to consider it roughly equivalent to a station kiosk.

The hotel is showing a bit of wear and tear on furnishings, floors, and appliances, but everything remains functional.
Good range of facilities in the apartment (washer/dryer with washing powder, coffee maker with capsules, etc.),
Most facilities are well maintained but some small things like electric sockets were not tightly mounted.

Only give one ice bucket as complimentary, then the hotel charges 50 baht per bucket.
It features a mini mart on the ground floor, which is quite convenient.
Convenience has been enhanced by the addition of St Louis BTS station.

Good accommodation, very good service, good activity arranged by the hotel
Great facilities, in the heart of the Central Business District.
The person stays all afternoon in front of their laptop

And the inbuilding mini market is a good idea.
It had great facilities with free pool table use.
The shower flooded the bathroom (this was fixed).

I felt so sad bringing my child here.
Well maintained however the furniture look old
Nice swimming pool available for refreshing.

Pool: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok77 relevant reviews
Guests consistently praise the pool as a major advantage: it is often described as large, clean, well maintained, and relaxing, with a 7th-floor rooftop setting, city or sunset views, sunbeds, and areas for children. Recurring drawbacks include slippery surrounding tiles, too few loungers, an unheated pool, and closed or absent pool-bar service.

We also enjoyed the pool - it was a bit older but really solidly built, large area and had both a deep pool and kids swimming area.
It gets shade from the building for part of the day, so it's comfortable to swim or lounge around without getting too hot.
Arranged free transportation for me very efficiently all the time to a nearby swimming pool of Sommerset hotel of the same group

Another thing to improve is the floor around the pool. The tiles used are extremely slippery and it is really dangerous.
The pool is very nice as well as the breakfast that was served in the room next to the pool.
We enjoyed having a drink at the rooftop bar next to the pool, the view was very nice.

The pool is nice, but it's slippery around it, a bit oddly designed, not fully thought out.
The building includes a pool and a very large gym, as well as a sauna and massage.
The pool on the 7th floor was excellent, and the sunset between the buildings was lovely.

Nice pool area but serious lack of enough sun loungers, which makes it difficult to enjoy.
All the amenities are excellent and in working order such as laundry, gym and pool.
The pool area is a bit lackluster and there are too few sun loungers

As for the swimming pool, towels should be in easy access by the pool.
Beautiful hotel with a rooftop pool and a magnificent view of the city
The kids really love the pool and very much preferred to stay indoors.

Pool was relatively big and offered a cozy place to relax after sightseeing.
Hotel has a wonderful size pool, great for swimming early morning lengths.
The large swimming pool is a real plus, perfect for cooling off.

Large pool with 1.40 meters deep everywhere, terrace with an unobstructed view.
The pool was big and refreshing with a great view.
The pool is the biggest advantage of this hotel.

The pool is a good size and always clean.
Swimming pool on the 7th floor, city view
Swimming pool was excellent but not heated.

The pool is also not very big.
A beautiful pool on the terrace.
Very nice pool area.

Pool was great.
Super nice pool.
A nice pool.

Gym: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok59 relevant reviews
The gym is repeatedly praised as huge, excellent, well-equipped, and sometimes spanning two floors, with many guests calling it among the best hotel gyms they have used. However, reports mention temporary closure, misleading promotional photos, limited equipment, 8am–9pm hours, crowding, no Wi‑Fi, and a new 400-baht daily locker fee.

Fitness room not as advertised on the homepage: a huge gym was shown on Booking (one of the main reasons for our hotel choice) - in reality just a poorly air-conditioned room with limited equipment (no kettlebells, no barbells...).
I'm a bit of a reluctant gym goer at the best of times, but this place really made me want to get up and go in the mornings before the kids got up.
It felt like an exclusive celebrity gym, not at all crowded, a whole floor of the hotel with views and loads of new and interesting equipment.

At 400 baht per locker per day it is a NEW (and unnecessary) expense guests should be aware of BEFORE they travel.
Gym lovers not book, the gym is temporarily closed and replaced by a small space that you get nothing out of.
To management please fix this problem and stop charging your long stay guests for simple things like lockers/towels in the gym.

To get the pool towels you need to go to the gym, it’s not mentioned when you are the pool.
Gym is good but recently (2024-) guests are being asked to pay for lockers when attending.
All the amenities are excellent and in working order such as laundry, gym and pool.

I have to mention the fitness centre separately - oh my, it was NEXT LEVEL.
The gym was the biggest, most well-equipped gym I have ever seen in a hotel.
Also this hotel is only about 8 mins walk from the local Crossfit box.

Gym (very good) opens at 8 at weekends so not for the early birds.
The gym is the best I’ve ever ever seen anywhere in the world.
Wish I used the gym, maybe next time great equipment and well sized.

Also, the gym is a full-service gym not like other tiny hotel gyms.
The gym is excellent, one of the best gyms i have ever been.
There's no WiFi in the gym despite logging in to their network.

The gym is amazing, biggest I've seen and attached to the hotel.
Nice hotel, nice gym, and friendly service at the front desk.
Business guests cannot use it before and after the working day.

The gym is also one of the best I've used worldwide.
The hotel Gym is amazing, so much great quality equipment.
Excellent gym available for guests (separate to hotel’s own gym).

A very large gym, it's basically a fitness studio.
Opening hours are a bit of a joke.
The gym is also huge and well-equipped.

The gym and pool were great.
Free pool table and gym
Excellent gym and spa facility.

Restaurant: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok29 relevant reviews
The hotel offers several dining options, including an attached pub-style restaurant, poolside dining, and a 7th-floor restaurant. Guests often praise the tasty Thai and Western food, varied menu, acceptable Bangkok prices, live music, and prompt service. However, reviews also mention inconsistent quality, high prices, curt or slow service, cold food, limited vegetarian options, and worn restaurant furnishings.

There was a restaurant and bar downstairs in the hotel which looked quite nice and offered a nice menu with OK prices, we did not visit though, so we can't say how it really is.
However its still value for the price, and I understand because it is residency style, difficult to operate 5 star hotel level of restaurants.
The restaurant attached to the hotel for lunch and dinner is great - a pub style restaurant with both western and Thai food.

For dinner, we decided to eat at the restaurant and bar located in front of the lobby level of Ascott Sathorn Bangkok.
Dinner by the pool would have been great if the food had been served warm and prepared according to the guest's wishes.
There is a beer pub on the corner which has excellent food but is somewhat expensive - probably a separate business.

There is a restaurant right next to the hotel door where we had some meals and enjoyed a lot.
Restaurant right next to the building- clean with great food, we went back for our dinner during our stay.
No one comes and offers drinks or food, if there is a happy hour it was hard to see.

The hotel bar on the 1st floor was ok but not as great as the rest of the hotel.
Please add some vegetarian and vegan options to the bar and restaurant menus for a 10 out of 10.
Bar/restaurant on the ground floor has good variety of beers and foods, and for Bangkok prices very acceptable.

I find it strange that when they have a restaurant next to the pool, they don't serve there.
The restaurant at the 7th floor is in need of upkeep, ie there were stains on the chairs.
There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as a bar zone with live music.

If you're in the Sathorn area and looking for a chill spot, I highly recommend Melly Sathorn.
I think the food area is definitely time for a revamp especially considering the price of accommodation.
We didn’t try the restaurant next door since we love to eat local food when we travel.

The food here is diverse, offering both Thai and international dishes, all of which look delicious.
Good food in the 7th floor restaurant with a very nice view of the pool area.
It's a spacious and beautifully decorated restaurant and bar with a stylish and relaxed atmosphere.

2) If all 4 guests had received their food and drinks at the same time.
Food also needs improvement a lot to cater for westerners with some fresh options.
The food at the restaurant is pretty good and the service is prompt.

The prices are grotesque and the level of service is to be ignored.
The restaurant on 7th floor serves good a la carte dinner dishes.
After trying some, we were amazed at how delicious everything was!

May be restaurants and food option could be improved.
At the requested price, I would have expected this.
Food in the restaurant was not so good.

Check-in / Check-out: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok24 relevant reviews
Check-in and check-out are usually quick, friendly, and efficient, with occasional complimentary or paid early check-in and flexible late departure. Recurring concerns include long waits, unclear facility guidance, strict or costly late-checkout fees, duplicate charges, and security-deposit refunds taking up to two weeks or 40 days, especially for card payments.

Asking the client to deposit the sum of 3000 Baht immediately upon arrival under the pretext of a security deposit in case of damage, and on the day of departure informing the client that the amount will be refunded within a period not exceeding 2 weeks. This is very low, unworthy of an establishment like this.
(Breakfast buffet is on the 7th floor by the pool from 6 AM to 10 AM / the gym can be accessed via the corridor on the 6th floor, with different operating hours on weekdays and weekends.)
Check in was great with smiles and great hospitality to welcome ASR guests and all details was explained clearly by front desk from the welcome gifts to the facilities and breakfast venue.

I asked why guests like me were not informed before I checked in since I then can make a decision to cancel my booking if I did not want to be disturbed.
Our room was ready for Check-In even a little before our scheduled arrival time (2 p.m), so we were able to check-in about 30 to 45 minutes earlier, with no fee.
They kept lying to me and wasting my time by saying they want to check if they have available rooms while I already made my reservation online and all paid for.

The security seems a little bit bad, one of my friends flight delay the hotel reception did not ask for his identity but just let him check in.
Even though checking out was at 11am, when we asked if we could stay longer, they agreed to stay until the taxis picked us up at 3pm.
I requested a late checkout, and they said until 2 PM was free, and after that, I paid an amount roughly equal to a full day's rate.

When I arrived they allowed me to check in for an extra fee which was great because I was extremely tired and needed some sleep badly.
I did hand over my visa debit card for the deposit and she said that it would not be returned for 40 days.
I had requested for an early check in - within 30 minutes of my arrival at property, I got the room keys

You need to tap your room card at the lift, then at one entrance, 2nd entrance before finally at your room door.
In less than 10 minutes we were relocated on the same floor and with employees to help us carry our things.
And when I tried to extend my stay they made it so hard that I had to call them 3 times.

During my check out from the apartment, I was asked to pay a lump sum amount with no breakdown of items.
I asked that a manager speak to me but it’s been 2 days and no one has approached me.
I already paid the property fee through Booking.com but they did charged me again on the check in date.

It takes two weeks to get your deposit of 1000 baht back when you used your CC for it.
It was everything a five star stay should be from check in to check out it was superb.
During check-in, guidance on major facilities was only provided verbally, which caused confusion during use.

It took me 45 minutes to check in and I was the only person there.
They need a better system and better training or change that staff.
Checking out was a breeze and definitely I will return again!

And now I still have to wait for the refund.
Hence she encouraged me to pay by cash.
Late check-out costs 50% of the room price.

Early check in due to membership 11.00am
Lucky I had cash on me.
Check in was easy.

Transport: What guests say
View Ascott Sathorn Bangkok21 relevant reviews
The hotel’s strongest transport advantage is its immediate proximity to the BTS/Skytrain, making it very convenient for sightseeing and avoiding traffic. Taxis and Grab can be delayed or struggle to find the hotel during peak hours. Several guests found hotel-arranged airport transfers expensive or unreliable and preferred booking Grab independently.

At my request, the girl at the reception contacted the driver, 2500 thb for a full day of 10 hours during which I could have him take me to the places I requested or other various locations
I appreciate the Bangkok is a fair distance, and we would have needed a van or 2 cars given a group of 10, however $200AUD is probably more than we'd pay even in Australia.
I booked through them for the return to the airport, and they showed up in a beaten-up old car with no credit card facilities (even though I'd explicitly requested it).

Even with a paid option which was quite pricy £8 per day - which game me 40mbs - it was still too low for me to work remotely.
The company that picks you up from the airport make you wait for 20 mins so it's much quicker to get a Grab yourself.
We ended up using Grab car most of the time to get back to the hotel, but have to wait for the Grab taxi.

After a couple of hours on the road, however, I realized that it was not the place I had requested
Possibly, access during peak hours by taxi, a lot of traffic jams, it's better to take the skytrain.
It is easy to take taxi when you are traveling to various tourist attractions aside of notorious traffic.

Their street is really busy with cars, and the taxi was always delayed in arriving.
So, taking taxi / Grab was very challenging, especially in the morning and evening.
There is a metro station under the hotel, but I did not use it.

I did enquire about transport from the airport, but it was prohibitively expensive.
Don't ask them to arrange your transport from the airport through booking.com.
I don't think the hotel has anything to do with it.

Hotel is just steps away from an entrance to the skytrain.
BTS Skyline station right outside with easy access to river ferries.
Was offered free airport transfer due to issues with the room.

Taxi and Tuk -Tuk drivers do not know the hotel location.
The BTS Station is just in front of the hotel.
Don't book the airport transfer through them. Get a Grab!

Taxis had a hard time finding it for some reason.
The only thing i could criticise is extremely slow internet.
Very convenience and easy to travel by skytrain.

But, traffic in this area was terrible.
Ideal location close to the BTS train
Three minutes walk to the skytrain (metro).

We found alternative transport using Booking.com
Extremely convenient by BTS
Short distance to transport

Didn’t get chance to use spa as it was temporary closed at time but there was one across street at another which we all received authentic Thai massage.
The onsite spa Chapter 6 Sathorn is excellent with amazing massage therapists.
The massage is better than Healthland which is opposite the hotel.

Excellent gym and spa facility, which unfortunately has just closed.
Massage was excellent, 5* prices but worth it.
The spa was really great too!

Their massage service is excellent.
A quality personal private massage.
