Guests repeatedly describe COMO Metropolitan as a calm, refined oasis in busy Bangkok, praising its attentive staff, comfortable rooms, boutique design, and high-quality food. Its Sathorn location is convenient for some, though opinions differ. Recurring drawbacks include dated or neglected decor, and some guests felt it offered poor value or lacked appeal for pool, spa, or breakfast.

The last time I stayed at this property was pre-COVID and being back here after all those years reminded me of how wonderful it is … from its rooms, amenities, and delightful breakfast, etc but it is the genuineness of its staff that sets itself apart from the other hotels I’ve stayed at.
We have stayed at the Como Metropolitan for 3 years in a row now, their high standard of staffs and food did not change at all, every time we stay, the service and quality of food have remained such high standard.
This hotel does not have anything particular awful so a rating of 2/5 might sound harsh at first, but for the price paid it's simply not good value so I cannot give them 3/5 which is supposed to mean "average".

What I like the most about COMO is that it has this boutique hotel atmosphere (stepping away from large hotels), and the service from its staff is much more personalized than other hotels in big 5-star chains.
What I like the most about COMO is that it has this boutique hotel atmosphere (stepping away from large hotels), and the service from its staff is much more personalized than other hotels in big 5-star chains.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for good service at a moderate price or if you usually stay at pricier properties and just feel like saving some money for other activities on your trip.

The hallways, room and lobby do not convey a five star hotel in comparison to other choices such as the Waldorf or Rosewood but you are paying $200 a night more there.
I have just checked out of COMO Metropolitan Bangkok after my fourth visit over the past two months, and I truly consider it my heartfelt base whenever I return to Bangkok.
The hotel feels boutique and if I had stayed more than one night, I'm certain I would be on a first name basis with all the staff.

I will preface this review by stating that I usually stay at pricier hotels but decided to give this property a try on my recent trip.
I really can’t recommend enough to others to try this hotel, it’s amazing value for money and I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
My second favorite hotel in the world (topped only by (Hotel) The Mercer in NYC, and that's truly as high as the stakes go!).

It lives up to all the high standards of Como - in particular the staff are all wonderful; so attentive and helpful.
I truly look forward to my next visit in just one week, before returning home to lovely Santa Barbara.
We had unforgettable memory in this hotel and I'll also visit here if I come back to Bangkok again.

We love Como resorts & will continue to seek them out wherever we go around the world.
I've stayed at a Como before, and loved it, so thought we would try the Bangkok hotel.
Past glory hotel in design and reputation being milked for what its worth - sad !

Everything was great, from the beautifully designed spaces to the comfortable rooms and excellent amenities.
Beautifully understated, this is a genuinely chic hotel that feels luxurious without ever ostentatious.
Had everything we needed and everyone was lovely, breakfast and room service was amazing.

So if you are looking for a GEM in Bangkok this is it!!!
The food was excellent and high quality and very clean and healthy.
I would highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to return!

Very nice, great service, huge rooms but not much atmosphere.
All the amenities you could want and exceptional service.
Absolutely fantastic hotel. Every aspect of it was great.

Fourth time here and it’s still spot on.
Loved our stay at the Como Bangkok.
My go-to place when I visit Bangkok

Staff: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok104 relevant reviews
Guests most often praise the staff’s genuine warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to go beyond expectations, from personalized concierge planning to efficient help across reception, housekeeping, dining, and the pool. Rooms are described as spotless. A few reports differ: some staff seemed disengaged or inattentive, and one guest said a doorman broke their suitcase handle.

The doorman broke the retractable rolling handle of our suitcase, either when He took it out of the back of the taxi (Necessitating the purchase of a replacement) or by using it to lift the case up the steps, instead of using the solid handle near by.... (Making me very grumpy)
Throughout our stay of 5 nights, every single staff greets you with warmth and smile, from the house keeping staffs in the hallway, to front desk staffs, pool, spa area, entrance, literally anywhere you go, staffs are making you feel so welcome.
From Ryu at front desk to Sam and Bobo at the (delicious) breakfast (and everyone else whose names I didn’t manage to collect), every staff member I met with was warm, attentive, unassumingly modest, respectful and polite.

A special mention goes to the concierge team, who arranged a fantastic private guided day trip to Maeklong Railway Market and the old and new weekend floating markets, including a dedicated van and private longtail boat.
Passive aggressive staff with a fake smile, no notion of what the customer wants as long as the process is followed, real hollow, fake attitude across the line (except junior staff who are clearly still guessing)
From the spa facilities and attentive pool attendants, to the spotless rooms, to the soothing interior design of the lobby—where the concierge, bellmen, and the amazing, kind staff behind the counters are always so gracious.

The staff were so kind - and even offered us a breakfast box on our check out day, as we were leaving too early to enjoy it in the restaurant.
Also a huge shout out to the kitchen staff who asked about dietary needs day one and remembered through the 4 days that I need to eat gluten free.
The wait staff are not all that attentive and could use better training except for a middle-aged/older gentlemen present who was working the days before Thanksgiving.

The bellman team was absolutely fantastic - they were always there to open the door for me with a smile, making me feel so welcomed.
Whether it’s dinning, especially the kind-hearted staff at breakfast, housecleaning, of even passing a working employee in the hallway or elevator, 'they acknowledge you' everytime!
After I presented the situation to the front desk, she quickly said she will handle it and wave the additional charge as an exception.

The entire staff, especially the concierge, went out of their way to ensure we had the best information and answers to our many questions.
He took the time to understand what we were looking for and helped map out some fantastic experiences during our stay.
Reception and the men greeting you and assisting you with your luggage introduces you to an amazing experience of full hospitality.

Room service happend two times a day, the turndown service was just great and the whole team was kind and professional.
It’s the little things like this that make a big difference, and I truly appreciate their attention to detail.
The staff set up a little welcome card, sparkling wine, and chocolates which was a very nice touch.

Amazing staff and service, they can't do enough for you. So kind and helpful in every way.
Its so well managed, Kudos to Rohaan Chandra and team , looking forward to returning.
The staff also helped us arrange transportation and provided change, which was very helpful.

Male room maid, Front office members and spa staff are perfect service.
Above all, the COMO Metropolitan sets the benchmark for exceptional, professional service.
They know who you are and are gracious and friendly.

From beginning to end the service provided is outstanding.
Helping us with all the booking and car.
Great hotel with exceptionally helpful and kind staff!

They seem genuinely happy to serve you.
Cleanliness and service are particularly noteworthy.
Staff was lovely and very helpful.

Rooms: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok83 relevant reviews
Guests most often describe rooms as spacious, comfortable, and clean, with large beds and especially generous bathrooms; recent renovations were praised for a fresher, contemporary feel. Experiences vary: some rooms felt dated or worn, a few were dark or impersonal, and one guest reported ants. Firm pillows were a minor comfort concern.

We had a room with an outside terrace - slightly strange as completely surrounded and no views or much light - but again I guess are in the middle of Bangkok so space at a premium.
What I have missed is a pillow menu; the two they had were very firm (for me), and having the option of a softer one would have been wonderful. It's a small point for improvement.
The window was small to begin with (not floor to ceiling), and there was a wall right in front blocking about 75% of the area so the room was dark for obvious reasons.

Except for the bathroom which was quite nice, construction quality was shoddy and mildly aging, comparable to Four Points or Novotel level, yet this hotel thinks of itself as 5-stars.
Having said that, the hotel does need a bit of TLC in their rooms and other areas, that’s why I said this hotel is great for the value.
Bear in mind that if you get a corner room, half of the view may be of a wall - worth checking out if a view is important.

I can also say the shower was the best shower I've ever experienced in a hotel. I felt like I was in a spa, and loved it.
The rooms and venue have a sophisticated simplicity and all the products (amenities, f&b, etc) are tasteful and superior than at other hotels in this range.
What’s also amazing, they have maintained the Metro vibe, easy, simple and keeping their signature “fragrance” if you’ve been a guest before “you know.”

Everything feels spacious and there’s a sense of openness, allowing you to appreciate how thoughtful the the layout of the hotel is.
Our Courtyard Suite was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel was a lovely retreat after busy days in the city.
Our room needed one more bath towel and in response to our request for one more, we got four more.

It was a corner room so perhaps more desirable than others but nonetheless it's still an entry level room.
Our City Room had a luxurious king size bed and had all of the amenities you could possibly need.
Fresh, a lighter feel to each room with fresh white metro-white colors, decorated with new refreshing contemporary furnishing.

This time, I had a studio room which was very spacious and comfortable, even with a great view.
The newly renovated room in which i have stayed in was very comfortable spacious and clean .
The room needs some service and renovation; the floor and bed frame show noticeable wear and tear.

My room like so many others was full completed offering up an entire new look.
One should always choose warm light for the light fixtures in the living area.
The room's decor could be made more appealing with a "warm touch."

I did notice quite a bit of ants in my room.
The studio room was really spacious and the bathroom as well.
The bathroom is nearly as big as my first.

And the rooms are so spacious with great amenities.
Really love the recent refurb of the rooms.
The pool and room vastly exceeded my expectations.

Spacious room, great modernistic architecture but aged
Rooms large, clean and very comfortable.
Very old bathroom and uncomfortable bed.

Breakfast: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok68 relevant reviews
Breakfast is repeatedly praised for its high quality, fresh ingredients, made-to-order Asian and Western dishes, and attentive staff who remember preferences. The buffet may be smaller than some guests expect, and some report limited, repetitive choices. The dining room is described as dark and unwelcoming; made-to-order dishes were occasionally slow or served cold.

A special mention also goes to the wonderful breakfast crew, who make each morning feel warm and welcoming, along with a truly 'made in heaven' breakfast spread that is beautifully presented and deeply enjoyed.
On top of that, the whole entire team at breakfast was impressive and impeccable, very attentive, very engaging, they remember your preferences of tea or coffee, even some smaller details.
The breakfast is amazing, with cooked to order options plus an excellent buffet with high quality choices including fresh meats, cheeses, juices and pastries that change daily.

The breakfast has limited variety and they recently changed policy so be careful when you book if your rate is with one breakfast or two breakfast.
They should have more variations on fruit for breakfast…. We practically stayed for two separate weeks and the fruit selection has always been the same
The quality of the breakfast was superb, it might not be the biggest buffer breakfast in Bangkok but the quality was very high.

Great breakfast as well, def worth booking the room with breakfast and there are so many great options of both healthy and western/Asian.
We did not dine at Nahm, but enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and poolside snacks, both of which were very good.
But the restaurant was dark for the same reason as the room, it had low ceilings, crammed tables, and very loud.

Breakfast exceptional - option of an additional a la carte menu provided a range if high quality and healthy options
You have a range of fruit, pastries, cooked dishes, that can be healthy or your standard eggs, bacon etc.
Also, they keep the blinds down in the breakfast restaurant so you feel more like you're in a basement.

I wasn’t aware that my booking only allows for one breakfast while I have brought a guest.
In breakfast, there aren't a lot of options, but those you have are chef quality - AMAZING.
Breakfast box and coffees on the day of departure as we were on an early flight.

A lovely offering of fruit, fruit juice, pastries, made-to-order breakfast dishes, and other delicious libations.
Food ordered off the breakfast menu takes too long even when they are not busy.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices and a lovely day to start each day.

I had fresh made gluten free bread as part of the excellent breakfast each day.
They have a great to-order breakfast selection, both European/American as well as several Asian entrees.
More often than not it come out cold or near cold which is off-putting.

Lovely touch as we had an early departure was a breakfast box!
Everything was great, facilities, room, food (supe bfast!), service inc spa/yoga
I didn’t like the breakfast area, it’s not very welcoming.

The breakfast offered through the onsite restaurant was delicious.
The breakfast at Nahm was exceeding our expectations.
Limited buffet but that’s fine and effective.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing!
The breakfast is perfect.
Quality of the breakfast

Location: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok48 relevant reviews
In central Bangkok’s Silom/financial district, the hotel is praised as a calm retreat with restaurants, cafés, Lumpini Park, and public transport within walking distance; guests cite roughly a 10-minute walk to the MRT and 15 minutes to the SkyTrain. It is less convenient for major tourist sights such as the Palace and river, and some find the location confusing or out of the way.

If you are going to Bangkok as a tourist I would recommend finding a hotel much closer to the Palace, the river and all the things you are actually going to want to see.
The hotel is a short walk to Sala Daeng Rd with many excellent restaurants and less than 10 minutes walk to Lumpini Park, and Silom Rd for the BTS and MRT.
2 lane down where the gas station is , it bustling with local life , fruit stall , small old lady eatery , neighborhood coffee shop with the best cakes

The location was perfect, right in the centre and next to the Banyan Tree hotel where Vertigo is, a rooftop bar where you can watch the sunset over BK
Great location - lots of options within walking distance for food, shopping, browsing, and close to Metro (10 min or so), and SkyTrain (15 min or so).
Although the location is not in the center - it’s still a place to be if you need a relaxing stay and away from the busy streets.

Although it is close to a metro station which was easy to navigate and it was fairly easy and affordable to arrange private transportation.
There is a nice old street a few blocks away with a real local market and some fun restaurants and bars--but that's it.
We felt we were able to walk to a couple of places and that it was easy to get to public transportation.

Location was great- close to metro and easy to get around, but also removed from the chaos of super touristy areas.
All in all a wonderful place to stay when visiting Bangkok, we are definitely returning to Como Metropolitan next year.
Although it's in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, the property remains calm and serene.

Very convenient location, we always walked to MRT to catch the train during rush hours to avoid traffic.
The location is great, having nahm on site, and Celadon next door. It's also close to Central Park.
The location is a bit confusing and inconvenient, especially if you’re planning to walk or use the subway.

There is a giant mall not too far, but I'm not sure who goes travelling to see malls.
If I'm ever in bangkok again, I'm booking here without hesitation. Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
Great location, chill pool, kind staff, comfy bed, relaxing vibe and always feels good to return.

If you are looking to go to the Silom area it is a short walk.
It is a nice area of the city with many highly rated venues and restaurants.
The COMO BKK is tucked in a sliver of space btw skyscrapers in Central Bangkok.

The area around the hotel is full of excellent small indie cafes and espresso places.
Its super centrally located and has a very interesting neighbour in 1 Bangkok 😀.
Love the location close to Lumpini Park, Patong Night Market and Public Transportation.

A nice stroll to metro, skytrain and many nice restaurants.
A lovely modern hotel in the heart of Bangkok.
A quiet oasis in a very busy, crowded city.

Lovely quiet hotel in the middle of Bangkok
A pleasant stay in a good location.
Great location, walked to local restaurants.

Pool: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok47 relevant reviews
Guests repeatedly praise the pool as beautiful, large enough for laps, and often quiet, with attentive staff and good poolside service. Its shaded location limits sunshine, and many find the water too cold, especially in cooler weather. Some mention awkward access, limited space or loungers, and worn-looking tiles or upholstery.

The swimming pool is large, and it was always possible to find a lounger - although there aren't many of them, the pool staff ensure that there is no "bagging" of loungers by guests leaving books/towels.
Does not get a lot of sun so on cooler mornings and evenings it is quite chilly; but in hotter weather I’m sure a much a needed relief.
The pool water temperature was freezing, and since the pool area is shaded, I was never hot enough to feel the need for such a cold plunge.

We couldn’t use the pool as the water was a bit too cold and we wish the pool was heated pool, so we could enjoy sometimes.
The pool is huge and we mostly had it to ourselves, not to mention the steam room and changing facilities were top notch.
The pool was great for those on business or couples but the children were asked not to splash and keep quiet.

The pool area is lovely and well serviced by staff who refreshed our drinking water and ensured every need was met.
Just a really weird entrance to the pool and not enough space around the pool. It was full all the time.
The hotel had a beautiful pool and we loved that it was quiet even though you were in the city.

Big swimming pool but the water wasn’t very clear though they removed fallen leaves etc every morning.
Pool and spa are welcome places to chill and relax after a day of sightseeing.
The pool area is really inviting and great after a hot day of sightseeing.

The large pool is an extra reason why you'll be unhappy to check out.
The swimming pool is large enough for me to do laps - thank you!!!
The pool was cold, but lovely as we had lunch by the pool.

The pool was a great size with also mini spa next to it.
The upholstery on the pool loungers looked worn and a little stained too.
I happily used the gym and pool facilities which were very good.

Accessibility to the pool is a bit complicated, unclear, and far.
Pool, considering you are in the middle of Bangkok is extraordinary!
The pool location means sun hours are quite limited by skyscrapers.

The pool was wonderful with great service and lots of space.
The pool, the amenities, the massages, everything was just incredible.
The pool is great on a normal (hot) Bangkok day.

The pool and room vastly exceeded my expectations.
Pool are all 10 star as well.
The tiling in the pool looked worn.

Wonderful pool & excellent breakfast.
25 meter outdoor pool
The pool is HUGE.

Facilities: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok25 relevant reviews
Guests repeatedly praise the clean, high-quality facilities, especially the pool, gym, spa, steam room and complimentary morning yoga. The onsen and poolside service also stand out. However, the hotel bar was closed for some guests, limiting places to socialize, and one review reported no phone or male staff support in the men’s changing area.

Feel that the hotel suffers in layout and there was no place to be social and have a drink before venturing out etc.
No calling capability from mens changing room where jacuzzi and steam room are- no male staff available to clean or provide support
The bar and restaurant were closed so we ate in an empty room one day and our room the next.

I feel like the lobby area could be renovated a bit to match the style of the rooms
Facilities are great the gym is perfect, the service at the pool bring it to next level.
Enjoyed the morning yoga class (free for hotel guests) and spa(a bit expensive but it’s worth it)

The hotel seemed pretty full so needs to reopen the facilities that make it 5*.
Lack of Met Bar or any bar in the hotel was a disappointment.
Need to sort out the bar which has been closed for sometime now.

Hotel is nice, comfortable stay, spa and wellness facilities are also good.
Not to mention the steam room and changing facilities were top notch.
I loved the decor and the little extra touches the property provided.

The spa has bonus facilities (eg pool, steam room) available to guests.
The bath products used in the spa and guest rooms smell wonderful.
I also appreciate the daily yoga class 8-9am which is complimentary.

Everything was great, facilities, room, food (supe bfast!), service inc spa/yoga
Quality of the bed, the bed sheets & towel was excellent.
The gym feels like a full business gym on its own.

All details have been thought through and you can feel it.
The gym, the pool, the steam room and spa- wow.
High quality hotel with spectacular amenities and terrific service.

Has all the amenities for a bussiness traveller
The hotel has excellent facilities and great service.
Even Michelin one star restaurant at the hotel.

Fruit infused iced water by the pool.
The facilities were wonderful and exceeded expectations.
The facilities are amazing (pool, gym, spa).

Great facilities like the gym.
The facilities were clean.
And the facilities excellent.

Restaurant: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok22 relevant reviews
Nahm, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, is repeatedly praised for excellent food, exceptional courses, and attentive service; room service is also highly rated. Some guests wished for a more informal dining option. Nahm was closed during some stays, including on Mondays and Tuesdays, and guests noted high wine prices and dated restaurant decor.

Only real negative was only place to eat was the Michelin starred Nahm (which was excellent) but would have been nice to have an informal place too.
I also tried the Shambala restaurant for breakfast and dinner and can stay the quality of the food as well as the price point was excellent.
I was unlucky to not be able to have dinner in the well reviewed restaurant as it wasn’t open during my stay.

We had dinner at the Michelin Star Restaurant and again totally overwhelmed by service and quality of food and beverage selection.
Not such a criticism but their signature restaurant closes on Monday and Tuesday as Bangkok recovers from the overall Covid situation.
You can get drinks at the pool (and in the starred Michelin restaurant on site, which we didn't visit).

Clearly states smart dress and yet there was a man next to me in barefooted with Birkenstock sandals.
You can tell the food is made with so much intention and picked so carefully.
Didn't like that you had to walk through Glow to get to the pool area.

The in house restaurant Nahm was not open on the days I was there.
We loved that the restaurant, Nahm, was attached to the hotel as well!
The Nahm restaurant was superior quality, and the room service was excellent, too.

The Nahm restaurant in the hotel is oh my goodness yummm ❤️
The food was excellent and high quality and very clean and healthy.
Nahm is special and each morsel was outstanding, every course was exceptional.

The food at Nahm was very tasty but didn't offer any surprises.
The restaurant nahm is great, as is the room service food.
We dined there on the Sunday and it was excellent.

Khun Pete at the restaurant is very good service.
The meals available during the day were also delicious.
Food, pool, gym are all 10 star as well.

The Nahm restaurant was superior quality,
The room service was excellent, too.
Wine entry price was too high.

Nahm restaurant was an awesome experience.
Food was above average as well.
Amazing restaurant with michelin star food.

Glow restaurant looked dated.
Restaurant decor looks dated.

Spa: What guests say
View COMO Metropolitan Bangkok17 relevant reviews
Most guests praise the spa, describing it as excellent, relaxing, and up to COMO standards; massages and other treatments receive positive mentions, and the pool and spa are valued after sightseeing. One guest reported a poorly handled back massage and missing slippers and a change of shirt. The spa was full for another guest.

Furthermore, no slippers were provided, so after oils went on my feet for the pedicure, I was prompted to put on my own slippers to go for the massage.
I got a back massage and half the time was spent on my legs, cheeks, hair...my intention was quite clear when I booked a back massage.
The spa seemed very nice even though we did not use it (but did love their spa bathroom containing a plunge pool and sauna).

I am not sure why the masseuse thought we would do a back massage through a thick linen shirt.
Pool and spa are welcome places to chill and relax after a day of sightseeing.
Lastly, no change of shirt was offered - I had to ask.

In the male steam room there was a basket with vegetables etc.
I love the fact that they have the spa facilities.
A spa that can compete with the world's top.

The spa facial treatment was also very nice.
Spa services, the pool, dining - they’re great.
Spa all up to usual Como standards.

We were offered massages. It was excellent.
Spa and gym and pool was outstanding.
The Spa is not worth it.

Its truly a wellness spa hotel.
The spa is also very nice
It left an unpleasant smell.

Unfortunately the spa was full.
From the spa facilities.
Excellent treatments.

Great spa
Great spa
Super spa

They were also accommodating with our late flight allowing us to use the gym and shower long after check out.
The gym is the best I've ever seen in hotels travelling around the world.
I happily used the gym and pool facilities which were very good.

Fitness, steam room and jacuzzi are available as well.
Spa and gym and pool was outstanding.
Well appointed gym with yoga every morning

Gym are all 10 star as well.
Great facilities like the gym.
It has a great gym

The gym was packed!
Fitness.

Check in check out took long- wonder why it can’t be expedited if people are waiting in line. eg. why not charge payment during check in so people can quickly leave during check out..
At check in, we were personally greeted and escorted to our room, shown how everything worked and had the opportunity to ask any questions about the hotel and the area.
After I presented the situation to the front desk, she quickly said she will handle it and wave the additional charge as an exception.

At check-in they told me I received an upgrade, but looking at room types, I don't think so.
We arrived quite early and we got our room at 10.30AM already, so a very early check in.
Check in wasn’t just a breeze, it brought an overwhelming sense of being welcome and cared for.

From the check-in, to the breakfast to the pool, to room service, to the check-out.
The entire process from being received to being checked out was an exceptional experience
Check in was a dream and loved the welcome refreshing drink.

I checked in on the 1st of september 2025 .
We arrived at 2 AM and received warmly.
